Dirty mirror with smudged hand prints, broken closet door, peeling wallpaper, holes in the wall, no towel racks, hair in bathroom. Trash outside the door. Old ragged carpet. Awful place. Toilet so low it looked like it belonged in a kindergarten . Should be updated and remodeled. Location lovely and close to town.

When we rented the place, there were pictures of a jacuzzi and pool. They didnt tell us that was under construction. The shower had hair all in it and uncleaned. So taking a hot bath was out of the question. The sliding door to the deck is unable to open. Bring all your own plates, utensils, pots , pans. And loud partiers at midnight on a weekday.

The staff person was very friendly, she came to the room and helped me figure out why the TV was not . Ultimately she was able to get it running OK and bless her heart for coming to my room when it was pouring down rain outside. The place is decent for the price, but this time the room was not very clean. The housekeeping had left one of her towels from cleaning on the bed, and there was a half drunken water bottle sitting at the table and the microwave had melted cheese inside of it. I have to stay in the room anyway because it was just too crazy outside. I couldn’t imagine trying to change rooms in a storm.

It wasn’t enough for me to say I wouldn’t come back so I will definitely still come back and stay because it’s the most reasonable price location in the area and I just need to rest my head.

The Chalet I chose was either AI or misleading. It looked like a really nice upgraded chalet the one that we stayed in the walls needed painted. Some of the walls were dirty and it just wasn’t upgraded at all. The only upgraded part was maybe newer carpet so it was really misleading online compared to what you actually got. Right behind the chalet near the parking there was a garbage can with a lot of garbage laying around. I even saw an employee drive right by it in a golf cart made no effort to clean it up but it’s not a good image having garbage like that laying around the property. All in all the accommodations was comfortable, but they can do a little better at upgrading and keeping the property a little cleaner. I know they have been upgrading a lot of rooms over the last year so maybe it’s in the works.

The room was somewhat clean but there was a set of mattresses in front of the room, dirty and very old with stains. The blinds were so dirty and damaged which provided me with no privacy—i took pics— I had no choice then to check out within less than 2 hours and still get charged for 1 night stay. I booked 2 nights. But never again. As I was driving out, I realized that the only car in the parking lot was mine lol. Omg I never had gone to something so bad. I travel for work.

The experience was disappointing to say the least. I thought that since it was one of the oldest inns that maybe it would’ve been well kept. But, I checked in after I reserved 2 rooms. It took forever to check in and then she gave me a set of keys. I said “where are the keys for the other room?” And she said “oh you want to check in for both?” Seriously!? There was hair on the bathroom wall so we know it wasn’t cleaned. We asked the front desk about any local taxi companies and she said they didn’t do taxi service. That’s not what we asked. She was thoroughly confused when asking for any local taxi company numbers. My hair dryer didn’t work. And my second rooms tv didn’t work.

I was really excited to stay here because the location is beautiful and the idea of a cozy cabin with a fireplace sounded great. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.

The first cabin we were given lost power within about 30 minutes, so we had to pack up and move to a second cabin. That was frustrating enough, but the second cabin had several problems as well.

The cabin was not clean. There was visible mold around the shower and bathroom door frame, stains and residue on the windowsill, and marks on the walls and furniture. It didn’t feel sanitary or well maintained.

One of the main reasons we booked was because the cabins advertise fireplaces, but the fireplace in our cabin did not work. When we asked about it, we were told that only one out of the seven cabins actually has a working fireplace, which felt very misleading.

The heating units barely worked, making the cabin uncomfortable, and there was even a sign inside stating that all cabins share one small water heater and guests need to be conservative with hot water.

Between the power outage, cleanliness issues, non-working fireplace, weak heating, and shared hot water, this stay was extremely disappointing. I have already contacted Expedia and shared photos of the conditions.

The area is beautiful, but the cabins need major cleaning, maintenance, and more honest advertising of amenities.

We stayed in cabin room 311 on Valentine's Day. Our first impression was good. The cabin was clean and tidy. The only problem was it was Arctic cold in the cabin when we walked in. The fireplace did not work and was partially dismantled. The heater was a window unit type combination heater air conditioner which did heat up the cabin after a few hours. We were disappointed that the fireplace did not work and called the front desk who said their maintenance person would try to come fix it. We did not hear from them. There was a bag of extra blankets and sheets for the pull-out couch. There were plastic cups and paper cups for water and coffee. The area around our cabin was very quiet and peaceful. One of my complaints is that the cabin smelled like old cigarette smoke. Despite the complaints, we'd stay there again.

Location and staff are great. Hard to find; a lack of signage of any type made the property difficult to find on a dark rainy night. The Northern Queen is obviously and old dowager and as such a bit rough around the edges with obvious up grades badly needed but with any effort this could be a great palce for a vacation or short stay.

Pleasantly surprised with the rustic quality of this place. It was charming and perfect for my family getaway. Everyone might not agree this is a 4/5 as the facilities are older, but my husband and I like the rustic/older feel. The surrounding nature/scenery was beautiful with the creek and small waterfall. Close to downtown. We stayed in one of the cabins and we liked having our own space but the the bathroom was very dated and the fireplace didn’t work.

The experience from check-in set the stage for the rest of the visit. Had to wait in line only to be told twice that the room wasn't ready. So had to check in an hour late. There was only one person working at the desk which seems ridiculous on a holiday weekend. The room was old dated and musty. The towels were like a motel 6 towel. There was no blanket in the room to use on the bed in the winter weather. The shower was difficult to turn on and off. There was no coffee pot in the coffee maker. The couch was stained and lumpy and impossible to sit in without sinking in the middle.This is basically a motel 6 in a very beautiful setting. Good for somewhere just to lay your head. And it was quiet.

Lovely grounds and super close to town - nice easy walk. Accommodation was perfectly acceptable for what I paid - rooms are looking a little tired and could do with a little update - no issues here.
However, I arrived a 2.10pm, after a 3 hour drive and was informed check in was at 3pm - parking lot had 4 cars - hotel was empty. For 27 ish bucks I could check in right now - my room was ready to go I was informed. I declined and waited outside for 50 mins. For this reason alone I will never stay here again!
Other than that - the overall stay was perfectly fine

The area is very nice and beautiful. I do not recommend staying at this place. When I first got in, I inspected my room and I found a pair of boxers in the bathroom on the floor. The water pressure in the shower was horrible, it barley has water coming out of the shower head. I literally had to crouch under the shower head to shower. Half of the power outlets stopped working and I almost had the contents in my refrigerator go bad. I had to call the front desk to reset the breaker. In the room that my other family members were in, the headboard fell out of the wall when gently pushing the mattress against the wall. Their bathroom door was a sliding door and the door got stuck because it came off the track and I had a family member stuck in the bathroom for almsot half an hour. In that room there was a huge knot under the carpet that made us all almost trip multiple times. Roomservice never came to clean during our stay.dhousekeeping. We will not be staying here again.

Arrived for our 10/4 reservation at about 2:30pm. The place definitely did not look as quaint as shown on the website. It was practically deserted, only a few cars and not a person in sight. Despite seeing a sign that pointed to check-in, we could not locate any type of office. Called the phone number and got no answer. Finally saw an open door on the building labeled restaurant. Went inside to see if we could find someone to help. Not a person in sight and dining room lights were flickering eerily...total Bates Motel/Friday the 13th vibes!! At that point, we high-tailed it out of there and luckily were able to find another place to stay for the night. Definitely would NOT recommend.

Good news first, the Northern Queen Inn is being remodeled. It's Oct 2025 now and by next year this place should be very nice if all goes well. As of now, it's outdated and rundown. Below a motel 6 in all ways except location. It's set in some rolling hills near the highway with beautiful forest lands. It would benefit from a Tahoe cabin style decor interior and an earth-tone paint job outside. Let's hope for the best... the staff was nice.
