Room had no heat and they gave me a small electric heater which only projected
heat for about 3 ft and the room did not have a smoke alarm and the walls were paper thin and I could hear the conversations next door and construction began at 8:00 in the morning.

The room was somewhat clean, but there were a pair of mattresses right in front of the room, dirty and old with stains--I took pics---I had no choice but to check out within less than two hours and it was becuase I was no the phone with Expedia trying to book something else. I was charged for one night, even though the pics on the website look nothing like this old, falling-apart place. But never again. Driving out of the parking lot, I noticed there was nobody else. That was the worse experience and on top of all I rated another beautiful hotel this rating out of frustration and confusion. I travel for work. Stay away from this place; they still get some money from you. Crazy!!!

Keep driving! The cottage is a complete dump #23. There was one wooden chair and one upholstered chair both looked like they were recovered from the landfill. Previous guests food wrappers were on the floor. Shelving and a TV mount were torn off the walls and nails and screws were sticking out 2 in. Molding and framing were half torn off the walls. There were no chairs around the table. The bathroom light fixture didn't work and was hanging. When complaining to the front desk they said they were going to renovate the rooms but they had to rent them out to get money for the renovation. There is no ice maker so they said you can buy ice at the market down the street. There was no sofa as advertised they said it broke and they had to throw it away. There is no rooftop terrace as advertised.

This place was a nightmare. It does not look like the photos. Completely false advertising. The mattress was stained badly and had hair all over. The lights in the bathroom did not work. Room was in terrible disrepair- they said they are renovating, but this was ridiculous. The AC unit in the window was not seated and there was a huge gap alongside it where pests and cold air could come in. They gave me a space heater to stay warm because the heater in the room does not work. The room was so filthy and disgusting- spatters of who knows what all over the walls and ceiling. Just totally gross. The shower handles were way jacked up and very hard to figure out how to stop the water. Way overpriced for what you get. It was just one step above camping.

The hotel looks nothing like what is advertised; the property is not kept, and everything looks as if it is condemned. The entire hotel was in bad repair. Dirty Dingy and broken down. We arrived late at night, so we checked in. The room they gave us had a broken heater ( It was 44 degrees that night). We asked for a different room, but that room didn't even have a heater. The walls had fist-sized holes, and it was dirty. I tried to cancel my reservation because it was too nasty to stay in the room and too cold not to have heat, but the guy at the counter couldn't help. They charged me for the night even though I didn't stay. I have tried to call the manager several times, but she never answers. The staff always takes my name and number, but the manager does not call back.

This was an awful experience all around. I did not end up staying here because the room was so incredibly filthy and unsanitary. It felt unsafe to be in there. There was a big brown/yellow stain on the under side of the top sheet. The mesh backing of the office chair was caked with some disgusting substance. There were two bandaids hanging off the wall next to the curtain. And the curtain which looked 1000 years old and very dirty didn’t cover the window all the way. I took photos of all of this to show the staff and Expedia to get a refund on my room since I had to leave late at night to find another place to stay. The hotel and Expedia both ignored my experience and would not refund my money despite the room being completely unacceptable for anyone to sleep in let alone be charged for it.

The front desk was very nice, courteous. The room had no working heater, and it was freezing in the room. The blinds were nearly all broken. The walls had holes in various places. The room was however clean. I’ve been going to this Inn for decades but usually get room 25 Champion, this year that room was unavailable. We were given Ruby #24. Not a nice room. Ask for the Champion room.

I contacted this hotel after our stay without any response. The hotel grounds were filthy, with dog feces everywhere, along with garbage. We had two cottages, same price, but not equal. One had less amenities than the other, one was in terrible condition, while the other appeared to be in the process of repair. One couch was so dirty it smelled like urine, we had to put the cushions outside just to handle bring indoors. The other couch didn’t smell as bad, but the sofa bed mattress was disgustingly dirty, Thus could be a lovely Inn, but it needs serious attention to cottages and the grounds.

I arrived at 5:45 and there was a note on the door that they were eating and would be back at 6:15. The front curtain didn't cover the window. The blinds on the door were falling off and I covered it with my jacket. The window in the bathroom had no curtain and faced an alley. The heater not only did not have a knob, it didn't work. The water from the faucet was brown. If I wasn't so tired I would have packed up and gone somewhere else.

I knew this wasn’t the best spot, nothing fancy, just a place to sleep but our room was so disgustingly dirty, heater didn’t work. TV didn’t work. Curtains falling off the walls etc etc. we were supposed to have two beds but they said they were putting us in their 1 bedroom chalet & the couch pulled out into a bed for our 12 year old. When we pulled the couch out, I nearly gagged! Garbage & stains etc & the mattress was ‘un-usable’ We were so tired we just huddled together in the king bed to stay warm because it was too late to complain or switch room! Hope there were no bed bugs! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Parking was fine, and the person at the front desk was very polite. However, the room I was given was in extremely poor condition. There was writing on the wall, holes in the chairs, a broken toilet, and stains on the sheets. Unfortunately, the front desk did not offer to switch rooms or address the issues. I’m not sure how they can expect guests to stay in rooms like that, especially while charging full price. I hope they fix it, as it's not intended to slam the place, but hopefully, they will be forced to do better.

The property was old and tired. Some renovations were done, but on a shoestring. The flooring was old, the fixtures were old, the window coverings were old, the plumbing was old. The property was in dire need of just about everything. The toilet didn’t flush in my first room. It took three different keys to get into my second room, and the blinds covering the window on my room were broken. I had to cover it with a towel. I reserved a separate room for my cousin, and he had to take a shower in standing water due to poor drainage. All in all, it was a terrible experience.

I stay here because its inexpensive, but it clearly needs to have all rooms get some TLC (clean the AC, touch up the worn paint, properly mount wall units (heater) and please clean the grout in the bathroom once a year. I did hear the place is under new management o with any luck they'll put a little time and effort into it. As far as I could tell the bed was clean however.

Room unavailable when pulled up hour past check in. Booked two rooms together and they separated us. Vermin, feces stains, and cockroaches visible in room. Front desk attendant was nodding off from obvious drug use and could not stay awake or tell me simple check in procedures without drooling or passing out.
Left and went to find other safer, cleaner lodging in grass valley.

my reservation on 9/20 was deplorable and I was unable to stay and use the room. it was the last room at the hotel and it had the following issues-broken bathroom window, broken front door-unable to shut 100% nor lock, and very dirty. I have pictures. The stairs and porch on the second level at room 20 were made of rotting plywood.
I'd really like a refund.
I left the keys on the bed and had to walk carefully out and drove home 3.5 hrs. This was just the worst.

Absolutely NEVER stay here.

This was the absolute worst stay of my life. I have absolutely no idea how this place is being offered on Hotels.com and the listing should be immediately removed to keep anyone from meeting the same fate.

It’s giving, cr**k motel with rent by the hour energy.

Nothing was clean, we only had a sheet on the bed and had to request a comforter after our first night’s stay. Was handed a crumpled blanket that we have no idea was clean or not.

Very few amenities, no house keeping, few towels, the cabin had a ‘full kitchen’ with absolutely nothing available to use the kitchen with. No pots, no pans, no heating pads if you used the oven, no plates, paper towels, or silverware.

I guarantee someone has died in the place based on the various ‘splatters’ on the walls.

One of the adjacent rooms from us had the door open the entire time we were there with the TV on.

One of the cabins looked like it was converted into an extended stay and likely isn’t available for anyone else to book with because the person living there looked very much like they LIVED there.

We would have been better off being informed that this is a camping ground and we’d need to plan all our own amenities.

We bailed for our final night’s stay and drove all the way to Reno, Nevada just to get away from this place.

The employees weren't trained on how Expedia works, the room didn't even have a trash can, and the place seemed seedy and like there were shady things going on. The rooms needed painting, there were plastered patches on the walls, the bed was so uncomfortable, with flat pillows. The only good thing was the AC, which was a window unit. Not worth the money saved by getting it as a cheap option.

If you are looking for a location to shoot a movie set in a down and out motel, this would be perfect. It’s really a shame because it could be very sweet. It’s well situated near down town, walking trails and can walk to restaurants. The cabins and grounds could be very pleasant to hang out at if they weren’t so hammered.

The room DID NOT come close to looking like the photo on the website when I make the reservation. The carpet and bathroom needs remodeling, the curtains were about falling off the rod, there was one towel for 2 people (easy fix,) and the matress needs to be firmer. There were cigarette butts all over the outside/walkway. If some money was put into the place (update/remodeling the rooms, A LOT of painting the exterior, clean up the outside) it would be really nice. I blocked the door at night with one night stand had my Glock on the other to feel safe at night when we slept. The door jamb looks it has been kicked in and in need of repair. Some of the other \"guests\" I talked to were full time residents there. It reminds me of the \"half way\" houses I've seen in Los Angeles. I give it 2 stars because I will say there was plenty of hot water for the shower/sink, and the bed sheets were clean.

Mistake in booking. I had booked one night (6/13) but they said the date was really 6/12, and they charged me for a \"no show\". Then I had to pay a \"weekend\" rate for another room for the night I had originally planned (6/13), a rate that was much higher. The room was available, but I found a couple roaches in the shower. The manager insisted that he had not made a mistake and that either I had entered the wrong date or Expedia had made an error.

DO NOT STAY HERE! our experience felt like a scene from a horror movie. First of all, the room we booked was given to someone else. But I checked the room where our friends stayed, it was ALSO equally horrible, so it doesn't matter which room. Then they didn't have any other rooms ready. This was at 6 pm , whereas check in was around 3pm. We left for dinner requesting them to keep a room ready when we return. We returned at 8, room still not ready. The person at the counter kept saying he is not uncharge and the person in charge was not around to talk or to take calls. This guy promised us a cottage as an apology, an hour later gave us a cottage only to realize that it was not clean and there was some construction work going inside. Then they decided to \"clean\" another cottage which got ready by 9 pm. We were so tired after a full day of driving and we thought we will crash and get the hell out of there the next morning. We thought WRONG- there was much entertainment to come. This new cottage they cleaned was DIRTY. The entire space smelled like they used an entire bottle of Lysol (which they probably did), the floors were STICKY, bathroom was terrible, sheets very dirty, we couldn't open the windows to get the smell off, AC or fan didn't work. We didn't get any sleep and as soon as there was sunlight we couldn't wait to leave the place. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I have photos to prove.

Not a scenic motor court hotel, but a hell hole.

The photos are deceptive, this place was a dump. Our room smelled awful, like 10 people smoking dope and cigarettes, mildew and mold. It improved by opening the windows, but not enough. The wall heater was sticking out of the wall, the door to the bathroom hit the bed, and the shower was stained and the shower head fell off when I turned on the shower. When we told the guy about it he said he would tell the manager, but nobody ever fixed it.

This is, without a doubt, the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Filthy room, filthy bathroom, unfriendly employees, insects in the room, caught fleas from the bedding, a foul-mouthed argument and fight broke out between a guest and the employees. Police had to be called via 911. Every plug was inoperable, the toilet was foul, the curtains were inadequate. The door would not operate or lock. We couldn't get away from this garbage dump fast enough.

It was raining when I arrived. The door in the room next to me was wide open and empty with dirty towels on the floor. The front window of my room had been removed and boarded up. Then a hole was cut in the wood to install an air conditioner. There were gaps between the air conditioner and the wood creating holes to the outside.. It was 30° that night, and there was a hole in the wall. The toilet was not anchored to the floor. I was not comfortable with the other tenants in the building. I did not stay the night. I just left.

Some dude on drugs wlks out of the office when i walk with my son riggt as we get there and asks me for a cigarette. I said no i dont smoke. Then he asks me for 20 bucks. I go into office to get the room i teserved and they said it easnt available anymore. Then i had to beg for a room with more than 1 bed... they could only give me a room with a bed and a pullout. So i reluctantly took it. My son and i found the pullout cushions were stained and it had no sheets. I went back to office to hopefully receive a set of sheets and a blanket. They could only give me sheets no blanket. Had to share bed with my son instead. Upon check out there was nobody in the office to let us in to turn in the keys. Left them slotted in the office door. Never going back

The office was unattended and took a long time for anyone to help us. Then they were unprepared and had to split our family across two rooms. The rooms smelt musty, there was left over food under the bed and in the cupboard, the room was unmaintained and didn’t feel clean. There was a spider in the shower and a dead moth in a bed. The heater was broken in one room so needed a portable bar heater which was unsafe. The exhaust fan was broken and very noisy in the bathroom. The other people in the hotel were noisy, there was a guy revving his car and cigarettes and weed could be smelt. The people next door to us could easily be heard yelling around midnight.
Our children didn’t feel safe in this environment and we couldn’t wait to leave.
On check out, the office was unattended once again so we left our key cards at the door.

The property is just so rundown and old improvements definitely need to be made. The bathrooms, especially are seriously in need of help. The bathrooms are Cold and dingy, mine had what looked like a pretty good size blood stain on the floor. However, the price was right; you get what you pay for. When we travel, we always need two rooms so we would definitely stay again because it’s what we can afford. My room smelled very clean and I felt safe. It was quiet at night and you are surrounded by beautiful trees. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Definitely do not look for frills or extras at this location.

We checked in early but our room was unavailable. when we returned in the evening and opened our room it was occupied by a man. No one at the front desk and no one answered our phone calls. Had to leave Nevada city and drive home. Worst motel experience of my life.

I should have read the other reviews before selecting this place. The cottage looked fine from the outside, but inside, it was old, poorly insulated, and some of the lights didn’t work. The built-in heater was broken, so they provided a small, noisy portable heater. The cleanest room was the bathroom, which says a lot about the condition of the other rooms. The interior was dim and had a scary look. My daughter wanted to sleep in our car, and she wanted me to stay in the car with her.

Eventually, we were able to convince her to sleep inside after playing games with her. That might be the only good thing about this inn: we got creative in helping her stay calm and managed to laugh at the situation. However, if you’re traveling with people who don’t have a sense of humor and happen to pick this inn, it could feel pretty grim.

The staff was really unhelpful. There were no bath towels, and the lady at the front desk said she’d bring them to our room while we were out for dinner. When we came back, the towels still hadn’t been delivered. I went to the office, but no one answered, and when I called their phone, there was no response. I suspect they just didn’t have towels and didn’t want to deal with me.

There were red stains on the couch and walls, and the sofa felt damp.

There is no heat, there are gross stains on the couch and when you even push on the couxh it falls down .. The chair on the table has awful stains the other room smells . the towel's are for a child because no adult will dry with just one, since they camt put a full size one. . its just gross. And rhey charged $145 .00 .. Disgusting

We reserved a 1 bedroom cottage & didn't stay. It was dirty. Hopefully I can get a refund. Absolutely terrible. The pictures on your site are NOT what this place looks like. We were there for maybe 20 minutes & I had to get out of there. It was THAT BAD!!!

It didn't seem like it was set up for people for overnight. There was somebody over the top of my room that was up all night making noise walking across the floor I got about two and a half hours of sleep.Won't be staying there again

The checkin went fine. Desk clerk was very friendly. BUT, the property and grounds was run down and dirty. When I opened the door to the cottage I rented, a musty, stale smell overwhelmed me. I took the key back and asked for a refund. The clerk said she was unable to refund my purhcase since I booked through Expedia. She showed me another room, supposedly newer and in better condition. This one was just as bad, and I did my best to be polite when I said I just couldn't stay in a place this dirty.

The Nevada City Inn is a very run down, the grounds are really sad no maintenance for a long time is how it looked to me, the room we had #12 was not a good experience with out going into detail I give it a 1. I'll never go back Im surprised the place isn't closed down.

Rude Manager. Dirty and run down. AC didn’t work. We asked for a refund because it was 96 degrees and nothing like it shows on line and they said “sorry, no refunds “. Don’t waste your money. Book somewhere else.
