Only stayed one night. Room was clean, air conditioner worked well, and I was greeted by a beautiful cat when I checked in. Friendly and they let us check in early. I liked the idea of a deck with chairs, but they need to clear up the view. Only downfall, there was a small view of the lake, but there was a living room lounge chair and poop trucks as part of the view from the porch. Room 4

Great views but needs new mattresses

This place could be very charming. The rooms have amazing views. The layout of the rooms are great. The mattresses were horrible. I overlooked a few things because the price was so low. The bathroom door was broken but that doesn’t bother me. The mattresses need replacing and it would increase the rating of the room tremendously. I would go back every time to the location if they replaced them

Good for what it is

it's fine for what it is (cheap and close) but there were stains on the sheets and the walls are SO THIN i think every time i stay the neighbors keep me awake. there's nobody to call to ask them to be quiet.

No hot water whatsoever. Holes in the walls. Terrible double beds. No working WiFi. Patio had faulty and broken wooden planks so a huge safety hazard. This place was a nightmare in every sense of the word. I was on a 5 day trip. Switched hotels the first morning of my trip. Don’t get fooled by the cheap prices..there is no value here in any shape, way or form.

This is a very dated property, and the property's location down winding side roads was hard to find and not very close to Grass Valley/ Nevada City. The facility dates back to the 1960's, and it shows its age and some neglect. Little has been done to maintain or update it. All that said, the staff was nice, and they do offer one of the few opportunities for short term accommodations at a reasonable price. For that reason, it is adequate for a short stay for the budget conscious if you're willing to put up with the limited services and inconvenient location. I feel the Inn is best for guests who are already familiar with the Alta Sierra area.

Hidden Gem

I need to travel to grass Valley for two months for my nursing program. I found this hotel and decided to book it based on the price and was not expecting much because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised! The unit is very big. When you first walk in, you have a bathroom area to the left and then a fridge and microwave on the right and then you walk down a few stairs into the actual room which is a very large space. It doesn’t come with a lot of extras, but it was definitely worth the price and the surrounding area is quiet and pretty. I liked it so much that I booked it out every week for my clinical rotation that I am there.

The room was very clean though barebones and the location was fine.

However the room was freezing cold and the heater, installed near the ceiling, barely warmed the room. The bedding was nonexistent, just a thin polyester bedspread and flat stained pillows.

We were just there for a quick overnight, so not worth complaining, but it just seems like common sense that there should be extra bedding in the room and working heaters that the guests can access without teetering on plastic chair to reach the controls.

Won't stay here again.

Run don't walk

The beds were like sleeping on a box spring. The tub was dirty when we arrived because it doesn't drain properly. Their are 5 tv channels 2 of them in a foreign language.
I will never stay here again it wasn't worth the close proximity to wedding venue.

Our first impression was that we had arrived at camp and were staying in cabins. We loved the atmosphere. The room had extra amenities-coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, etc...Two things that kept us from rating a 5: the corners of the room could have been cleaner (cobwebs and dust) and the heating/cooling wall unit was very dusty, which led us to not turn on the heater (in all fairness, we had arrived at a time when the weather is changing from warm during the day and very cool in the evenings (we were cold during the night). If a person is open to a \"rustic\" type of stay, then this motel is for you.

1. AC/Heating not working 2. Tub drain working poorly, ankle deep water 3.Bathroom door broken, unusable 4. No TV working 5. No WiFi working 6. Towels smell like cheap perfume and are a dingy and stained 7. Tried to close screen door to let in cool air ….. no screen in the door 8. Got cold in the night, no blankets just thin bedspread 9. Front door… no seal, air and bugs move in and out freely 10. Language barrier management can’t understand English when there’s a problem.
Undoubtedly the worst lodging I’ve had in my adult life. I would never stay or recommend this place to anyone. It may be good for camping out, but not worth the price of a lodging establishment.

AC, WiFi, and TV were all not working in my original room. Staff person spoke very limited English to assist or answer questions. Eventually I was given a different room with better AC and WiFi but no TV. No bedside lamps. Room was generally clean but very basic.

No phone. No lamps. No microwave. Noisy wall heater. No internet so no tv. Wi-Fi wasn’t working. Language barrier made it difficult to address issues. Rude staff. Worst experience. There’s nowhere to sit and watch the tiny tv even if it worked. Faucet ran all over counter. Stay somewhere else!

Rustic attached cabins on golf course

Cabin feel on a golf course a couple miles off the Hw 49. Safe and very family friendly. Lots of kids running around having fun. Quiet after dark. Beds were bouncy, a bit noisy yet comfortable. Price was right. Expect clean and rustic and you will not be disappointed.

Reserved room with 2 beds, got 1 queen. There were no lamps, only bright overhead lighting. Tripped on broken stair leading to room. Tub not too clean. Heater only blew air although it was so high on wall that you couldn’t read the buttons or knobs. I’m 72 and not able to climb on a chair to read it.

No one spoke English. I booked and paid for my room online, then the manager told me there was no rooms available. I tried to explain to him, but he did not speak English that I already paid for my room. Another employee came to my room and told me I had 15 minutes to leave. My wife and I packed our things and we left with still no explanation as to why we were asked to leave.

Bare bones, but fine

This is one of those bare-bones places that has the potential to be better than it is. The room and bed were comfortable, but stark. No bedside reading lamps or hair dryer provided. Someone else's hair in the bathtub. Weird check-in experience (person did not speak English - took a while to get across why we were there.) It is out of the way and served our purposes since we were visiting a friend nearby. We would only stay again if we happened to be in the area and just needed a place to sleep.

Do not stay here. Poor service.
Charged me twice. I left property in 1 hour. I will demand a refund on both charges.
Place is filthy. Turned the ceiling fan on dust flew off onto the bed no soap in the bathroom. Place needs to be reported to the health department. Sewer gases in the room also

I arrived at 10:10 pm for my prepaid stay. Office was closed (hotels.com description stated check in until midnight and office open and staffed until midnight). The only phone number went to voicemail, and stated no one was available. After waiting at office door for over one hour, and repeatedly calling, I was forced to find another hotel to stay.

Worst experience ever

Got there around 8pm from a 6 hour drive and no one was there. A note was on the door to ring the doorbell or call a number. Doorbell did nothing so I called the number, no one answered but the voice mail said to call another number. I called that number and no answer. Left a message and never got a call back. I kept calling till someone answered and they thought i was someone else. They proceeded to tell me they had no power at the inn and wont have power for a week. Which was a lie because the whole place was lit up fine with guests staying there. They said sorry but maybe next week and to call hotels.com for a refund. Still no refund so im thoroughly unhappy 😔

Poorly designed, installed and functioning heating unit made for several cold hours spent waiting for the room to warm up enough to be tolerable to even stay in. The extremely loud noise the unit made meant it was next to impossible to sleep with the unit on. The water in the (leaking) shower and bath never got warmer than tepid. The handle to turn the water on kept falling off. Wifi extremely slow and unreliable. Single-use styrofoam and plastic cups for the flavorless coffee were a minor bit of ugly but added to a more major bad feeling of contributing to pollution (along with the heating unit installed near the uninsulated vaulted ceiling).

Looking over golf course, waking up to geese honkin and peacocks a talking was enjoyable.
The heater didn't work very well, didn't get warm enough. Hot water in shower did not get hot. We took a Luke warm shower at best.
