Overall this was an excellent stay. I would stay here again.
Service was great and so was the cleaniless and comfort of the room.
Only 2 things i had issues with, one was the gym that they claim to have. It is almost nothing and the equipment they do have is not functioning.
Second was the breakfast. Very unsatisfying so i tended to eat away from the hotel.
All in all I had a great stay.

We really enjoyed staying at UMA Residence. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious every morning. Good hot water and water pressure in the shower. This hotel is centrally located to a lot of main attractions. We loved the neighborhood as well with the authentic feel of locals. We felt safe walking to the local grocery store and boba shop a few blocks away. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Did not like the area, there is too far from the city center, limited public transportation, and nothing to do in the neighborhood.
Also staff were not very helpful, i asked four a couple of things from them, and they were very strict.

Great value! I’ve stayed here numerous times when I’m in Bangkok. Staff is friendly and helpful. Basic rooms but there’s an incredibly beautiful courtyard with a very nice pool and relaxation / socialization area. In addition to the pool, the courtyard has tall trees that provide shade. This is a hidden gem of a hotel that’s within walking distance to a pier where I catch the Chao Phraya Express Boat to all the major tourist attractions down river. Short taxi ride to a MRT station. I’ve learned how to use the mass transit train system so I can get to anywhere around Bangkok and the airport train. Lots of street food as well as restaurants serving decent Thai food. Breakfast buffet is ok nothing fancy. Again, rooms are basic, but I don’t expect a 5 star hotel for such a low price. It’s a budget hotel with a quiet beautiful atmosphere.

This is the third time I’ve stayed at UMA. My favorite thing about UMA is the friendly staff!
The second best thing is the beautiful courtyard.
There’s a beautiful pool with comfortable lounge chairs. The breakfast options are yummy. UMA is close to the Express Boat Ferry pier too.

UMA. Be warned!

My experience at UMA Residence was not the best.
I booked a room on the strength of the photos, which were of a beautiful hotel, but the reality was completely different.
The entrance to UMA was hidden along a narrow dirty alleyway.
The reception was unwelcoming.
The pool area was dark & full of mosquitoes.
The room was small and un-maintained & featured several broken fittings, including the AC.
Breakfast was paltry and resembled a prison canteen.
Outside of the Hotel in the surrounding area was bleak! No bars or restaurants, just street vendors lit by dim 12 volt lamps.
After one night of our planned ten was enough & we checked out.
Neither Hotels. com nor UMA will refund our money.

Hotel was fine in a local neighborhood away from the usual touristy places. Hotel is clean and basic, nothing to really complain about but nothing stands out about it either.

Breakfast is too basic and could be improved. There is a bar on site but it is no longer utilized, which is too bad. Pool is small but nice.

I liked the cleanliness, and pool area. I did not feel very welcome. The three young people at reception were friendly. The manager does not greet one. As I was the only foreigner at breakfast I felt very unwelcome. Its a residence with mostly Thai people. They are either shy or do not like foreigners in their space. If you are single perhaps give this one a miss.

This place feels like oasis in the middle of busy Bangkok. I really liked that it has a very relax vibe to it. The rooms are quiet, and the AC is pretty strong, which was needed on those hot days. They also have great touches like nice lounge area by pool and free delicious hot chocolate. It is not close to main transportation line, but a scooter takes you in 15 mins to where you need to go.

Good value, nice rooms, great staff, nice hotel overall.. Really great value for the money, got a 2 room family suite for about $60 a night on orbitz during peak tourist season. Only downside is kind of in a rundown neighborhood a few clicks from anything.. the small inconvience was well worth it to me.

This place is very inside not many restaurants , special someone traveling from india.if you traveling for siteseeing you need to spend more on taxis. Better to stay near to city.

The rooms do not have dental kits, A/C is very slow, breakfast has very little option very tough for vegetarians.

Fab little oasis in local neighbourhood

Couple of days at start of trip to chill. Very local rather than city. Local evening food is an adventure. Chicken noodle man was best at the end of block. Hotel is a real oasis. Great for riverboat down to main touristy bits without having to fight traffic. Lovely staff. Breakfast was good with a variety of Thai and western options. Tricky for taxis to find print out a clear big map for driver with clear street names. Very few tourists on local streets

Excellent hotel tucked in a non-busy area of Bangkok. Clean and super comfortable bed. Hotel is very clean as well. The common lounge/pool area is excellent. Pool is very clean and chlorinated but shallow, good to cool down. 24-hour snacks and coffee are awesome. Suggest: providing pool towels, for air con to be able to stay on when not in room, as room is powered by keycard, and more options for breakfast. Local street food nearby but no hotel restaurant. Have stayed with family on two occasions and would highly recommend if you want to be away from the traveller district.

We stayed at UMA Residence for about five nights while visiting in Bangkok. We booked the Superior Queen Budget Room because it was the most affordable for the amount of days we were staying in Bangkok. The room was very clean & the AC was lovely! The only negative comment I would make about the room was the beds. The beds were very hard and difficult to sleep on. They were very stiff! We ended up having back issues the next morning because it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep on. This is the only negative comment I would make about this particular room. Apart from that, the staff was friendly and attentive. A breakfast buffet is offered every morning for around $6 US dollars. It was convenient since we were up early and needed breakfasr before we went somewhere that day.

Bus or Taxi a must.

Need to use bus or taxi to get to Victory Monument BTS train to get anywhere....this takes time in the traffic. The pool is only one metre deep, but can do breast-stroke. 5 level buildings with lift.
My room 1314 was listed as city views but looked on to a building site with loud noise starting at 6am. The breakfast was poor. Staff were helpful and not a large crowded hotel.

Overall a nice hotel. mattress was too hard, though. We only stayed overnight so cannot really comment too much, but was satisfied with our stay. We had a family suite (2 bedrooms). Master bedroom was nice, however the 2nd bedroom only contained the bed (full-size/double). No nightstands and only 1 cheap floor lamp. Both rooms had a TV and its own bathroom. That was nice! The hotel required a 1000 baht cash deposit which they returned upon check-out (and after checking the room over for damages).

First Time Solo, first time in SE Asia

The facilities here are beautiful and the pool is shallow but great for a refresh. Rooms are clean and modern. Breakfast was expensive (200 nth) and with all the street vendors around, I would save 150 but and go out to street
The front desk was not friendly, they were not mean but did not feel welcoming. The only person who spoke English well, seem annoyed.
I was a solo and in Bangkok for the first time. jetlagged and over whelmed it would have been nice to feel like I was intruding.
At first I thought it was me and felt very sad, lime I was doing something wrong, but when I left Bangkok, it was so nice.

The general staff was were very nice. No lift.
Price is good and rooms are clean and comfortable.

I spent 2 weeks in Thailand and this was definitely the nicest of the lot!
The layout was lovely, nice lounging area near the pool and free 24 hour snacks with fresh tea/coffee/water.
Spacious and very modern but cosy. Loved the open plan feel to it.
Rooms were very nice, comfy bed and amazing shower.
Quiet as off road and staff were friendly and let us leave pour bags at the hotel on our last day we flew.

Happy and would recommend.
Only thing was the area didn't have loads of places to eat, but we managed to find a nice very cheap café up the road 39 Bart for a meal so we were happy. But if you like street food and eat meat (I don't) you'll be happy as loads of that in the area,

Nice hotel in a quiet old town near the river

I stayed at this hotel for an extended period of over a month, and have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very well managed, comfortable and friendly staff. The buffet breakfast offers some new
dishes everyday. It is a short walk from a riverboat station, but quite far from BTS or MRT stations. Taxi is needed to move around.

Quiet & Tranquil Hotel in Bangkok

A Quiet & Tranquil Hotel in Bangkok. The architecture & landscape made you feel like you were in a resort someplace outside the city. Room was simple yet stylish, very clean & comfortable. It had complete amenities - toiletries, ref, closet, safe, hairdryer, TV & WIFI. Wifi was spotty & difficult to use at night, probably because of the influx of guests using at the same time. Pool was a refreshing part of the landscape & the sound of its waterfall can be heard around the hotel. They had a coin laundry mat area. Breakfast was delicious. Had both continental & Thai food. The Thai breakfast food we liked to try everyday. Continental was repetitive. Snack bar was very convenient. Wished they served lunch & dinner buffets as well. Street Food Stalls were available outside at the street. To get to places around Bangkok, it was best to get a taxi, UBER/Grab or take a walk to the MRT Station (about 15min walk from the Hotel). Staff could improve their english but otherwise very friendly, polite & accommodating, even the guards. Worth the price I paid for. I'll surely book this hotel again when I come back to Thailand.

Nice hidden hotel near old town

I ended up at this hotel because of its location and the good rating. Spent a few nights at this place and everytime was a good stay. The room is spacious, clean, and tidy. The hotel common area is pleasant, feels like home with green and cozy garden, totally away from the chaotic street outside. Free coffee/water all day at the lobby is great too. We didn’t bother with breakfast as there are plenty of choices just a few metres outside. Will definitely stays here again.

Great facilities, but 10 minute drive to khao San, and 30 minutes to Siam/sukhumvit. not a good location if it's your first time there. Most taxis don't know the hotel name. It was a pleasant and quiet at the hotel. No where close by to eat, it's in a residential area.

An hidden oasis

We really enjoyed iur stay. The service is great. Loved the coffee station. It was so nice to return to the clean, friendly and quite resort and sit by the pool and enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate. There is a real nice calming feel to Uma. It's easy to forget that you're in a very busy city when staying there compared to other places where the sound of traffic is almost none stop. We also found some excellent restaurants nearby.

We had stayed here about 2 years ago after it had just opened and I am pleased to see the standard then and now are unchanged. They have the best beds i have sleep on in my extensive travels of Thailand and the coffee comes from a real coffee machine. Loved it.

Baggage got sent on a separate flight to us, the staff were very helpful in contacting the airport for us and organising safe drop off. Convenient location, quick tuk tuk to Khaosan road. Clean hotel, air con unit was a bit noisy but you'd get over it.

The hotel is very nice from inside. We used it for one night as we came from Phuket and had to sleep one night to pick our next flight. The neighborhood is not that attractive and you won't believe that a hotel would exist in such a place behind the buildings. Staff were very nice and helpful. In short, for the price paid, it is an excellent hotel if you are on transit for one night.

Everything is good, staff are helpful! Breakfast is ok, the swimming pool is a bit small yet chill!! Public facilities are fine, but the most important is they have a very good price!!overall very good!! For the problem if a bit far from city centre, Uber will solve!

A big let down

On check-in I asked to upgrade to a bigger room as my room was a bit small, I was told I had to pay 5000 baht to upgrade, I showed the manager that the difference in price between the two rooms was only 700 baht, she then reduced her amount to 2500 baht, I pointed out that it was still a lot more than the advertised price. I paid the 2500 baht in the end to avoid a fight. not happy about being overcharged.
breakfast was a big let down, very limited, cold scrambled eggs every morning, in fact everything that was meant to be warm was cold. pool is ok, however It is small and shallow.
Room was nice, modern and clean.
wifi was ok, weak at times though.
Overall I would Say there are many hotels in Bangkok with better value, unfortunately I wont be back after my bad experience.

Amazing hotel in the wrong location.

The hotel was lovely, but the location was not. Upon arrival multiple taxi drivers refused to drive us as it was too far from the centre - so we were stuck with our bags exhausted from a very long flight. It was a pain to travel in and out of the city. The hotel staff and the hotel however was great.

Wrongly advertised that this place has a lift. My bad knees will not come back to this place! Balconies will not unlock to the residents! I have to walk 5 levels of stairs with my painful knees!

The room was clean, but......the air conditioner was water dripping! The electrical kettle didn't know how to stop after reaching boiling point, I almost got my finger burnt while trying to shut it down.
The staff at Reception was rude and surprised us. Check-out time was supposed to be at 12:00 noon. At 11:30 we received a phone call just dropped us two word \"check out\" and hung up. We were shocked about this service attitude in the friendly sky of Bangkok !!!

Quaint Hotel

It's a boutique hotel outside Bangkok's city centre. A good place to retreat after a long day of activities; cozy ambience and cool interiors that were all pleasing to the eyes and most importantly provides comfort with ample space for relaxation. Bedding is comfortable; the hotel was gracious enough to give us a pool view room upon request. We didn't get to use the pool but it sure is a cute looking one. Breakfast is mediocre and very limited. Finding the hotel can be a challenge as taxi drivers were not that familiar with the place (even with the address and map provided) to make it easier just tell the driver to give the hotel a call for directions. Nevertheless, overall positive experience.

We stayed at UMA Residence for two nights while passing through Bangkok. The hotel is lovely and clean. It's got a nice atmosphere and good amenities. The neighbourhood is very authentic. You do need to take a taxi to get into the city centre but the hotel staff are very happy to call them for you (and it will usually be cheaper). When giving your address to a taxi, say the name of main street close to the hotel, not the name of the little alley the hotel is on as they will not know where it is.

Great hotel with great staff!

Hotel uma was such a lovely place to stay, the staff were really friendly and always greeted you with a smile on their face and would help as best they could with anything you asked, the location was superb being 10 minutes away from the city centre I never expected to find something this nice and this close it was. such a convenient place to stay. I have given the hotel 5/5 and they truly did deserve it i know I will be going back there if I return to Bangkok.

Absolute hidden gem! Staff were so helpful. Room was perfectly sized. Pool and bar area were very presentable. Breakfast was quite basic but I suppose they have to cater for all nationalities!

A Hidden Gem At An Unbeatable Price

Amazing hotel, more than accomodating staff, beautiful setting near the heart of Bangkok for such a low price. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Bangkok!

There's great street food on Nakhon Chaisi trailer outside, it's a beautiful hotel, lovely staff, great brekky. We caught ferries everyday to see the Bangkok sights and came home to bliss! The one bed suites upstairs are lovely.

Great for a short stay in Bangkok

Clean, and comfortable. Idyllic pool area with seats and lounging. Helpful and friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere. Located off the main road, it's nice and quiet. It's close to the action but not in it. You will need to get cabs around. Room was simple but got everything right, the cost is really affordable. It's plain, as reflected in the great price. Staying here was a lovely experience, tucked just off the busy streets of bustling Bangkok.
