I don’t believe there are many hotels in Bangkok that can match the practice find here. The gardens and pool are lovely and the staff are so helpful and very good English speakers. The rooms are charming and it is so nice not to see glass, marble and exposed ducting and concrete. A truly beautiful place, with a few idiosyncrasies and a lot of charm.

I have stayed here before and it remains my preferred hotel in Bangkok. The staff are lovely and the dip pool is set in beautiful surroundings. The food is excellent and really should have a Michelin star - and is not expensive. Ideal for families in my view and there were several there. The rooms are tastefully decorated, although there was no hot water at the bathroom basin, just in the shower which I thought was odd! It didn’t affect my adoration for this hotel though! The river boat pier 15 is near and the MRT can be found in Chinatown (Wat Mangkon) 4km or short cab away.

The place is beautiful, people are lovely. The breakfast was delicious. It is a very peaceful place.

The girls and the gentleman at the reception are the best. They really went above and beyond to assist us.

we originally booked a room without a window (we didn’t know), paid extra to get a room with window and the view was tin roof of the place - not worth it.
The lighting in the bathroom needs to be better.

Not a 5 star hotel!! No lift/elevator, basic ugly rooms — they had IKEA make it yourself closets!! Pool never gets any sun. Breakfast was nothing special.

This is at best 3 star hotel, not even 4 stars. Very outdated hotel, tiny lobby. If you’re looking for 5 star luxury, this is not it! Stay at any true luxury hotel for the same price. Location near Khao San Road is convenient.

Photos don’t do the estate justice. The courtyard is absolutely breathtaking at night. The location is an easy cab ride to the great palace and Wat Pho. While the immediate surrounding area of the hotel has a lot of construction and is poorer than other popular neighbourhoods, we enjoyed the quiet. There’s a supermarket around the corner and a cute evening market on the same road as the hotel. Thanks to the hotel staff for a lovely stay.

Rooms are very small and water pressure in the shower was intermittent so either there was water or a trickle and kept changing from warm to very hot.
The hotel is a dry (no alcohol) hotel but there is a 7/11 around the corner. The garden and pool area is lovely but not much sun.

One of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed at. The beds are super comfortable, the AC is great, and the rooms are gorgeous. The hotel property is very serene and calming, with a large garden full of jasmine and frangipane, beautiful pool, and plenty of places to sit with a cup of tea or a book. I had breakfast at the hotel a few times and dinner once, and they had a wide selection of great food, though of course it's a bit more expensive than eating at a local restaurant. The hotel staff is very helpful at getting you a taxi, and responsive to any questions you have. The neighborhood was a bit more local/residential, which I enjoyed because it was quite quiet, though it is a little bit of a walk to the more touristy areas (about 15 minutes to Khao San Road, maybe 30 to the National Museum and Royal Palace). Places like Chinatown are not really walkable. There is no elevator (not a problem for me, but something to note if you need one!). Highly recommend if you want a quaint, historic hotel in a quiet neighborhood!

The staff and facilities are amazing. Thoughtful and caring. The grounds are impeccable- people working on them all day long. Small facility but they are clearly working on improvements and upgrades. Pool and area is small and not for sunbathing. It is perfect for cooling off in the middle of the blazing hot day. (Come back to the hotel for a break between visiting the Wats). Make use of the Spa! Amazing massage. Neighborhood is safe but impoverished. Actually- most of Bangkok appears this way in Old Town. Just took a bit to get used to.

Little sanctury in bustling Bangkok

As I was new to the area, the staff couldn't have been more helpful with my questions. They also assisted in calling an early morning taxi.
The location is a short walk from the river for boats and has a local bus service (depending where you need to go) nearby. And it is an easy and interesting 25min walk from the klong station.
The breakfast station was fully stocked each morning and dinner, while without alcohol, offered a wide choice.
The room, Governess Suite overlooking the road/canal in the newer section, was delightful. Super comfy bed in the spacious room, and although there was no actual wardrobe, sufficient space to hang clothes. Big bathroom and great energy efficient hot shower. Great air con but also ability to open the windows.
The pool in the gardens was a treat at the end of the day although sometimes had to ask for towels, but they came very quickly.
The older section had a variety of rooms and would like to try them on my next stay as I will be back.

The Raweekanlaya was a perfect place to stay in Bangkok. The local area has amazing food and the friendliest people. There are plenty of local markets and restaurants for anything you need. The pool was pristine and relaxing. A massage is a must from the spa if you go! Would love to stay here again next time I’m in Bangkok.

Recommend for a short stay in Bangkok

Nice base within easy access if the main sites. We used the ferry which is a 10 minute walk to get to the palace. We also used the number 53 bus which does a circular route around the city and is very cheap. We were a family of 5 so getting a Tuk tuk not so easy for us. The hotel met our needs. Provided a little oasis in the middle of the city. The pool was small but very much needed after a day in 38 degrees. Breakfast was very average. There is no bar at the hotel but there are a number of shops nearby where cold drinks can be bought. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but can recommend Steve’s which is on the river and serves lovely food. Our room was rather noisy with a big generator or extractor fan outside. Would recommend for a short stay in Bangkok.

The property is nice and the service is excellent however the air-condition in the room is pointing directly to the bed preventing any sleep when it’s blowing directly to your face. I checked with reception and was informed that the air-condition is positioned the same in all property rooms. Unfortunately, for the first time in my life I ended up sitting in my car all night and not getting any sleep at all. I would have stayed in the room but other than the bed there are no sofas or chairs so you can only sit on the floor. Breakfast is minimal so if you book a room you might want to skip breakfast and find something outside the hotel.

Stunning hotel, pay more for better room!!

This is a stunning hotel and the rooms are very well-appointed and beautifully decorated. The service was excellent at all times. My only negative was that we booked the Montra Room (cheapest type of room but still not super cheap!) and it is a very small toom with no window and no natural light. One side of the room was shuttered to give the impression of a window but was just a cupboard with a strip light inside. It bothered me not being able to see if it was night or day, sunny or raining. However if you're a person who is not so concerned by the lack of natural light, I have nothing else negative to say about the hotel. It really is lovely and comfortable and clena.

The property is an amazing estate located inside Bangkok. So much green inside with plants, trees, a nice little swimming pool and all the colors are matching.
Wifi is really good, and the staff is listening.

Only thing I didn’t like was the breakfast which was rather disappointing. Same dishes, same buffet. The dishes were not very good, and we have tried many of them. And because the breakfast didn’t give us a good impression, we chose not to try the dinner :(.

That being said the hotel is great overall, but since we are “foodies” we put a lot of focus on food, especially breakfast

Excellent service, they truly make you feel like a valuable customer. We loved the pool area which feels like a little oasis in a busy city. The breakfast was also very good, with plenty of buffet options and cooked food to order. The only downside was that the bed was too close to the corridor and you could hear people walking and talking. But regardless of this, we enjoyed our stay.

some rooms are next to a road. at night, the noise from motor bikes and cars may bother people. I broke a glass in room, the hotel charged me GBP20, which is not a reasonable one.

It all began great, until the night came with the noises from the street, the neighbors passing by our door yelling at 2 ap etc.
Staff is also hit and miss, there was an extremely friendly lady at the front desk and a stone face one. Breakfast staff was also quite intrusive.

This is a lovely small hotel to stay in Bangkok. Set back from the road and centred around a rainforest garden, it is a tranquil retreat from the city. Makes you feel that you are in the countryside!

Raweekanlaya is located away from the hip and happening parts of Bangkok, but the ambience is beautiful with heritage structures, old trees, chirping birds and cobbled pathways. One can spend time sitting under the banyan tree, watching the cool pool and hearing the birds, if one can ignore the mosquito bites which come as a bonus 😃 !
The reception is in an old building, so also the dining hall. There are a few guest rooms too. But now they have constructed a new structure which houses most of the rooms. This new building is pretty and well done up , though the old world charm is missing. I got an Executive room facing the street which is a bit noisy and has lights coming into the room till late at night . There is no cupboard in the room which is ok as there are enough racks to hang clothes. But what I found uncomfortable is that there is no chair in the room. So one can sit only on the bed.
The building has no lift and one has to lug one’s suitcases up the steep wooden staircase. But all these shortcomings are made up by the helpful and courteous behaviour of the staff.
The room provides complimentary tea, coffee , water, soft drinks , fruits and some snacks as well.
The breakfast buffet is limited with some salads, fruits , eggs and bakery. But the a la carte food is amazing. I had papaya salad at lunch which is awesome and the best I ever had.

Customer service as very good and nice they serve tea upon checking in. Relaxing atmosphere where you can roam around the premise. Meals are delicious. Overall premise is fantastic and visually appealing (hint* all you insta people out there)...

Comment on the shower. It does not get hot. It only spurts hot water at specific intervals and then goes to a borderline warm. This back-and-forth for me can be a bit annoying. There is no table desk in my room that I can put my laptop to get some work done.

Also note that there isn't any sound proofing walls. The unit I stayed was 1201 which is at a corner where bikes and pedestrians can easily be heard and noisy. I recommend to get a room further back. If you're okay with the noise, that's cool...otherwise perhaps may I recommend earplugs for a good night sleep.

Reserved a King Room and received a downgraded room with two twin beds that were different heights/sizes that had been pushed together and without a bridge. Bedding was all twin sized, and the duvets simply overlapped each other.

Food service on property was abysmal for a \"wellness cuisine\" retreat location. Housekeeping was inconsistent at best. Beautiful property, but several misses along the way. Definitely not quite \"luxury\" at this point.

Disappointing Stay

I was slightly disappointed in this hotel in that it was rated 5 stars but lacked certain elements in my opinion to be so. Our initial room was dark and facing the street, we paid more for an upgrade to be “inside” the complex but the room has no view, windows have to be shuttered at all times as look into narrow corridor and other room doors, making the room dark. No cupboards, only a hanging rail etc. Breakfast was average and a few mornings they didn’t have quite a few items on the menu. We had booked this resort as a luxurious way to end our holiday, however the pool area is small, room is dark, and no alcohol served on the premises. Highlights were a pretty garden, lovely spa treatment and friendly staff at the front desk. I wouldn’t return to this hotel unfortunately as I don’t think it’s value for money.

Good stay with a bad ending

Accidentally broke a glass in the bedroom next to the bed. We called the front desk immediately and told them but the cleaning service was closed. Broken glass was all over the floor. This morning when we checked out we had to pay 200 BAHTS.

I know I am responsible for damage to the room as it says in your hotel policy.

But as this is a 5star hotel I had expected for the hotel not to fine us 200 BAHTS. Usually if the damage isn’t deliberate and is low cost then the hotel should cover the charge or as part of the service.

But the hotel is beautiful, clean and in general amazingly well done. Staff were all very nice too.

super pathetic

cant believe the hotel charged me 500baht (15 usd or 11pounds ) for breaking a drinking glass in my room. And the way the duty manager dealt with this matter was very rude! he just said to me if 500 baht is not a problem for me then just pay! oh wow how professional. well done. he made a fantastic impression of Thailand. to be honest I would have loved to return to this hotel again but sadly I dont think I can do it anymore after what has happened. still dont understand why they would do it to their guests ?!!making a guest upset over a drinking glass ?
anyway if anyone wanna stay in this hotel, I would say dont try eating there, it's not that great and the pool doesn't get a lot of sunlight due to the trees so it's not ideal for sun tanning.
one final thing, this hotel doesn't serve any alcohol at all so if you like cocktails or wine....it might not be ideal.

A sweet refuge in the busy Bangkok

The hotel is amazing and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We had the best check-in ever - they served us tea/juice while filling the documents. So relaxing!
Some hotel rooms don't have windows though, so please make sure to confirm upon booking if that's the case with the room your reserving. That was the single issue with our staying.

Not my style of hotel, but decent overall...

I'll begin by saying the grounds of this hotel are absolutely stunning. The center area with the pool and garden area are certainly worth experiencing. They've done a great job making this area comfortable and transported to a garden oasis. Here are my pros and cons:

THE PROS:
+ amazing pool and garden
+ comfortable beds
+ incredible service (the people are extremely kind!)
+ good location for us (a little far from attractions, but we love to walk)
+ decent price

THE CONS:
- very small rooms
- tons of events hosted here (there were 2-3 events every day we stayed which got somewhat annoying)
- no elevators
- no alcohol (but you can buy beer/wine at the 7/11 next door)
- too ritzy (if you're into \"old-colonial\" hotels, this is your spot)
- slow wifi
- LOUD! Thin walls and doors where you can hear everyone walking up and down the hallways anytime of night

Overall I would not stay here again. Pleasant experience, but not at all my style of hotel. I'm sure it will suit many peoples needs, but there are much better hotels in Bangkok.

An OK hotel

The hotel is placed relatively close to the main attractions of the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and lots of temples. Be aware of the following:

1. The area is a bit dodgy and scammers are running their scams in almost every corner of the surrounding streets
2. Cleanliness - there is dust in the rooms that can affect people with allergies
3. Montha Rooms do not have windows (at least the one that we were in). In the photos they have shutters/blinds but they are leading to a wall. This makes the place a bit dark
4. Swimming pool is small
5. Breakfast was good but mainly had eggs and bacon and sausage
6. There is noise during morning hours and sometimes the cleaners are noisy as well

Beautiful!

Beautiful grounds with lush greenery, wildlife, charming pool area, and great service in an area of Bangkok that is away from the touristy crowds yet nearby to all the things you'd want to experience (e.g. night markets, street food, shopping, etc.). Comfy beds in beautifully decorated room, fantastic and health-conscious food in the restaurant, as well as a helpful front desk staff. I will definitely stay again next time in town!

Nice looking hotel and grounds, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
We only stayed one night prior to heading home the next day, it was very comfortable with only one negative aspect which was the traffic noise. We stayed in a city facing room overlooking a busy main street and it was quite noisy, would definitely recommend a room overlooking the beautiful gardens and pool instead.
Overall a very nice place especially the friendly staff.

Great hotel in a not-so-great area

I would think this is one of the nicest hotels in the area, and it wasn't particularly expensive. More of a rustic style than a modern business hotel. I was told by a friend the property used to be the residence of a noble family. Walking distance to the UN building, where I was attending meetings. Sufficient food and convenience stores in the area so you wouldn't starve, but no great entertainment. Shopping is a 15-20 minute taxi ride away, if you can get a taxi. Staff were great to help us book Grab though. I had an overall happy stay though and would gladly come back, if I had to attend meetings at the UN.

Oasis!

This place is such a gorgeous oasis in a very busy city. The moment you walk through the gate you are surrounded with trees and bird song. The rooms are spacious and beautifully clean.
The breakfast was delicious and very generous! Kay and Zee were the best!
There a just a few minor things that let the hotel down. Pool service is lacking and having to find pool towels abit annoying.
Some of the staff let the team down as well.
But all up this is a very gorgeous place!

The hotel and room was clean. Bed comfy. Amenities were also provided in the bathroom. Nice details in the room with the woven baskets. Was great that they also provided hats and an umbrella, bedroom and outdoor slippers for guest use.

Jeg har lige haft en fantastisk ophold på Raweekanlaya Hotel i Bangkok, og jeg kan varmt anbefale det! Hotellet har en charmerende atmosfære og hyggelige omgivelser, hvilket gjorde vores ophold virkelig behageligt.

Faciliteterne er fremragende – vi nød især poolområdet, som var perfekt til afslapning efter en dag med sightseeing. Værelset var rummeligt og veludstyret, hvilket gav os en god base for vores eventyr i byen.

Servicen var i top! Personalet var imødekommende og venlige, og de gjorde alt for at sikre, at vi havde en dejlig oplevelse. Jeg rejste med min datter, og vi følte os begge meget velkomne.

Alt i alt var det et skønt ophold, og vi glæder os til at komme tilbage til Raweekanlaya Hotel næste gang, vi besøger Bangkok!

Unterkunft/Zimmer:
Im Badezimmer war der Abfluss des Waschbeckens randvoll mit Haaren. Silikonfugen am Waschbecken mit Schimmel übersät.

Bettlaken waren fleckig. Wohl irgendwelche Körperflüssigkeiten, die sich durch das Waschen nicht entfernen ließen.

Speiseraum: nie wechselndes Frühstück. Überschaubare Auswahl. Nur Filterkaffee (für 12€ p.P. erwarte ich schlichtweg mehr. Einfach schlechtestes Frühstück in Thailand ever)

Wand bei der Kaffeestation wurde wohl noch nie gereinigt, alles voller Kaffeespritzer und Mock. Unglaublich.
Wobei solche Details in Fragen Reinigung für dieses Hotel wohl einen grundsätzlichen Zustand darstellt.

Poolbereich: Servicewüste. Personal oder die Möglichkeit Personal zu rufen mangelhaft. Ergo keine Drinks am Pool.
Liegeflächen verdreckt. Dazugehörigen Kissen geradezu widerlich.

Fitnessbereich: eine handvoll Cardiogeräte, wovon eins funktioniert (damit meine ich: es ist am Strom angeschlossen und ich kann es einstellen)
Keine Handtücher oder Desinfektionsmittel im Fitnessbereich vorhanden.
Über den vergammelten Handsanytizer schauen wir mal hinweg.

Summasummarum: Gute Lage, aber alles andere ist gewollt und nicht gekonnt. Der Punkt Kontrolle findet hier wohl in allen Bereichen kaum statt oder wird durch Blinde durchgeführt.

5 Sterne? Da haben wir in Thailand schon deutlich bessere mit weniger Sternen erlebt. Sehr altes Inventar. Einige Sachen fielen schon auseinander. Eigentlich leicht zu reparieren aber darum kümmert sich keiner. Gardine komplett durchsichtig, Bettlaken reicht nur für drei viertel des Bettes.
3. Stock ohne Fahrstuhl und das auch nicht klimatisiert.
