Our breakfast and supper or two of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in our holiday in Thailand. The hotel itself is full of antiques and interesting places like the music room. The Gym had everything we needed.

An amazing hotel. Excellent range of food for breakfast with no buffet in sight. A few lapses in attention to detail regarding clearly stated dietary requirements, otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Room striking design - huge, immaculate and well designed except no window to look out of - natural light does come in via bathroom window during the day. Bed and bedding superb with huge bathroom area and fabulous lighting. Interesting display of cameras show cased in room and many wonderful art and historic pieces on display in the hotel that we didn’t have time to fully appreciate.
We only stayed 2 days - not enough time to fully explore all aspects of the hotel. A plan of the hotel in room would have been helpful as not obvious where the various fitness rooms and bars were situated - we were only shown to our room on arrival at 6pm.

Pool excellent and plenty of sun loungers with lovely peaceful river views. Provided with iced water and towels, but also sunscreen which was so thoughtful.
Quiet and relaxed. Location not ideal if you wish to be close to popular areas, but by using the boat that will stop at jetty you require, can enjoy access to the sights yet retreat to the oasis of the hotel afterwards.
There is a ‘butler’ service - for the basic suite though this is really more of a concierge service but using watts app chat that mostly works well, although the butler was clearly unaware of all I had organised in advance by e mail.
Look for to a longer stay next year

This Resort was absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding. It was our Honeymoon annd I anm so happy I picked this hotel. Our Butler Zul was so attentive and kind. He anticipated our needs and reserved the hotel boat for us to and from where we wanted to go and we felt so safe. The breakfast was some of the best food my husband and I have had and the afternoon tea was delightful. The pool was wonderful and entire decor of the hotel is something you will never forget as you feel like you are in a luxury zen boutique. Highly reccomend this hotel.

The hotel was amazingly beautiful and well appointed. We stayed in a villa and it was heaven. Our butler was so helpful in making arrangements for the hotel boat to take us to our activities and gave us great recommendations on this to do. We misses him and the rest of the friendly hotel team the minute we left!

The Siam exceeded all expectations. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. There are truly unique and thoughtful touches throughout the property that make it feel homey (a vinyl room, screening room and sitting areas for example). The decor is an impressively curated collection of southeast Asian history. We enjoyed using the gym including a private Muay Thai lesson and the spa including a private barber for my son. The private boat that takes you along the river to various stops is a huge perk to avoid Bangkok traffic. Probably our favorite part was enjoying a slow and quiet breakfast watching the river each morning. It was a lovely retreat from the Bangkok hustle. Our butler (Zul) was very attentive and took care of all of our needs.

Can't say enough about our time at the Siam. It was like going back in time to a more gentile period. Arriving at the hotel made me think of what the estate of a Hong in the 19th century would look like. The hotel is decorated with tasteful art and collectibles of museum quality. The grounds are beautiful, the staff impeccable and having a beautiful boat to shuttle you to all the historical sites and restaurants on the river was the icing on the cake. To avoid all the traffic congestion in Bangkok and enjoying the cooling breeze on the river made it all worthwhile after a day of sight seeing. Especially when you're greeted by your Butler on the dock upon your return with ice cold scented towels and a glass of icy cold water. Nick was the consummate host and his staff the most polite and congenial ever. Truly an Oasis.

I really enjoyed my couple of days at this unique property I found it to be quiet and calming throughout my stay. It really is beautifully designed and you find yourself reaching for your camera time and again - it’s unlike any hotel I’ve stayed in in Bangkok. The staff were charming and helpful. I enjoyed the swimming pool area, my huge room, comfy bed, the gym and just reading a book in the light filled spaces throughout the hotel. There is a Jim Thompson outlet in the hotel, a small art gallery, a snooker table and a library. I was not intending to explore the many sights of the city nor spending time outside the hotel so can’t really comment on that, but it served the purpose of allowing this guest to decompress fully and in wonderful style.

A unique experience of asian \"art de vivre\" !

this will be a memorable experience started with a booking of a muay thai package at the spa for a couple of friends celebrating their wedding ! And I decided to stay there with my close friend. Everything is done for your pleasure, from the pool view to the bar, breakfast service, the transfer service by boat and of course the spa premises which are unforgettable. I would like to express my gratitude to Mint who did a wonferful treatment with lots of attention (a senior therapist that I highly recommend). The hotel gathers a lot of antique pieces from the colonial age, a walk through the past in a cabinet des curiosités (amazing moments)... Thank you ! I hope to see you again, congratulations to the dedicated staff and the designer in charge of this hotel.

Probably one of the best hotel experience. The hotel is amazing and has so much to see and experience. Two night stay is not enough. The butler and other hotel staff, especially Eve, are so professional, police and are always ready to help. The design and antiques at the hotel are beyond. The cruise is also fantastic, especially when you can see sunset. The pool is excellent and the staff is so considerate and prepare iced water and sun block. We tried almost everything on the breakfast menu. ALL are great! Strongly recommend! Will definitey come back again!

I have traveled a great deal and have stayed in some wonderful hotels but The Siam was surely the best and most special hotel experience of my 74 years. Starting with a most gracious and friendly welcome by Nick, the hotel general manager, to the tour of the property and, at each turn, being wowed by every indoor and outdoor area, to being shown our beautifully appointed, luxurious, comfy suite, and finally to having some of the best Thai food at the restaurant at the hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were at the hotel. And throughout our too short, two day stay, Nick and his staff were so helpful in making sure we could make the most of our first visit to Bangkok. An added plus is the hotel’s location on the river and how guests can use the dock at the hotel to catch scheduled boats and be dropped off at historic sites and restaurants, thus avoiding what is often gridlock on the roads. I can recommend this hotel any more highly and hope to return one day soon.

The Siam is truly hospitality perfected. From general manager Nick’s involvement and interest in ensuring you have everything you need, to the incredible butlers always there to assist, you would be hard pressed to find better service in Bangkok. The location is a true haven along the river amidst the hustle and bustle of such a busy city. Taking the shuttle boat is highly recommended to avoid getting stuck in traffic. We were visiting as the first stop on our three week honeymoon in Thailand and I can’t think of a better place to enjoy some true luxury in Bangkok. The spa, the hotel’s eco friendly efforts, and the food were all 10/10.

Everything about this property is almost perfect. The one obvious negative is it’s location which is quite remote from the main sight but a free water shuttle is available to make up for it. Otherwise this hotel surpass every standard of cleanses and service. All personnel is extremely attentive and will above and behind to assist you. The rooms are very clean and spacious but more pillow options could be nice. The hotel is almost a museum in itself and is worth taking time to explore. A final note on the spa that is top notch with attentive therapist and a very relaxing environnement.

We had an amazing stay at the Siam recently. The property is out of this world and very special and you could spend days just wandering around taking it all in.
The location is not the best but this is more than made up for with the convenience of the boat that is available and the uniqueness of the property.

This remains one of my favorite hotels in the world. The service is impeccable, the property is very charming and beautifully appointed and it is a lovely retreat from Bangkok’s busy tourist sights. This is probably one of the best boutique hotels in the world. The who experience was just amazing. The staff is brilliant and extremely helpful. They are always smiling and look after the customers needs. The decor is stylish and unique. The food is very tasty and well presented. The butler service is quite helpful to people like my family whose visit to Bangkok is for the first time. Our butler Nat is on the ball and got us what we wanted when we wanted it. The general manager is hands on and looked after us with all our queries and helped us by arranging a safe hotel pick up of our daughter from the airport as she arrived few hours after we did. This is a real gem of a paradise in Bangkok. I highly recommend it and we will come again and tell our friends to visit.

The hotel was immaculate, incredibly well run. We were greeted by the manager and staff on arrival, given a butler, Paul, who took care of our every need and when we departed my daughter was leaving on a much later flight to Sydney and they allowed her a late check out of 5.00 at no extra charge.

Fantastic property! I’ll, continue to stay at the Siam again and again. Full of charm and interesting decor that includes a vast antique collection. Large luxurious rooms with very comfortable beds. The service is outstanding! They think of things before you even ask including giving you maps with very good directions as well as a note in Thai telling the taxi driver where you want to go. They also take care of everything at the airport making arrival and departure so easy. Mac was our personal butler and made sure we were well taken care of at all times. The Siam is more than a hotel, it’s an experience!

The hotel and all the fabulous collections decorating it are off the charts. The decor is truly a feast for the eyes--every corner reveals new treats you have not yet seen: collections upon collection of beautiful antiques, framed posters, articles and photographs, telling the history of Bangkok. There are contemporary collections as well--posters, musical instruments and more!The service and care of the employees is off the charts. We loved all the food we tasted, we loved our bedroom and our bed and the fabulous linens. This is an absolutely first class hotel. The location, right on the water made it easy to get everywhere, as did the available water transport and the facilitation by the staff. Oh, the staff!....could not get any better--so personal and caring, listening and thinking ahead what we would like or need. The food was all delicious--breakfasts (love the home made passionfruit yogurts, the soup, the eggs, the pastries!) the dinners (loved everything we tasted !) The wine list was superb as was the assistance in selecting. We loved our bedroom!--Best bed ever! Best linens ever! Quiet, and so detailed in the planning right down to a soft \"night light\" under the bed, and each room is decorated differently-we loved the great looking bicycles on the walls of our room. The staff took care of us down to every detail.....they thought ahead of details that we would never have thought of, and which \"made\" our vacation. BEST EVER! Oh: Loved the lap pool: 5 stars!

A getaway in the city

I only stayed here one night, but it really was a unique experience. I was quite exhausted after three weeks of travel, and The Siam gave me the perfect excuse to just stay in and relax at the hotel. I enjoyed a leisurly lunch, hanging out at the pool, and just relaxing. The room is very spacious with a killer bathroom and extremely comfortable bedding. The service was also really great. I would say the only thing I would do differently is find my own transportation to/from the airport, as it is quite overpriced compared to other hotels in Bangkok. Otherwise I really loved the hotel and my overall experience.

Perhaps the most outstanding experience in my many years of traveling around the world. The Siam redefines and takes service to an all new level. Every member of the staff is exceptional. They go out of there way to make your day and your stay most enjoyable and convenient. Was traveling with 3 others and we were convinced that they communicated telepathically. They anticipated your every need or desire. The property and location were also exceptional. For a truly luxurious and relaxing stay in Bangkok, The Siam should be your choice.

Impeccable oasis of serenity in a busy city

Beginning with our butler, Mac, everyone on staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. Lovely service, beautiful room. Our every whim was indulged, including a last meal special order of sticky rice. I especially appreciated the immediate help on arrival from the airport when the lovely young woman checking us in helped me get local currency and actually went out and paid the taxi driver.

A+++ service and a lovely hotel.

Throughout our 2 week stay in Asia my children and my mother never stopped talking about our private concierge named Gub at The Siam and how this one person was able to make our stay in Bangkok and also at The Siam so unbelievably special. It is very rare to meet an individual who so completely cares and considers your every wish. Wow. For many, many years I have stayed at The Oriental. While The Oriental remains lovely (we did take the4 boat by for lunch), our room at The Siam was without question larger and more comfortable. It was also much more suitable to accommodate my children who were traveling with me. The hotel is smaller and the size and quiet was a welcome respite to the busy city. The breakfast was exceptional and the service A+. Thank you to Gub and also the manager Nick for making our stay so special. We will look forward to our return!

Best hotel experience we've had

Words cannot describe what a wonderful experience my wife and I had staying here the past five days for the first part of our honeymoon here in SE Asia. We are so disappointed to leave because I can't imagine anywhere else would live up to the standard of service at this hotel.

Beautiful architecture, rooms, and antique decor. Our butler, Sumet, was one of the nicest people I've ever met and absolutely could not have been more accommodating. Twice he arranged breakfast for us \"to go\" at the front desk when we were taking a day trip and going to the airport.

I regret I wasn't able to get their names, but the masseuses my wife and I had at the hotel spa were so amazing that we both said we aren't sure we'll ever be able to enjoy another massage in our lives.

The location is near the government district so it is relatively quiet, but the hotel shuttle boat can take you anywhere quite easily.

Finally, the general manager, Nick, went out of his way to meet us as we checked out to make sure everything was satisfactory.

What an amazing experience--if you are able to come to Bangkok do not miss the opportunity to stay here.

Nice hotel, Good for retreat in the city

Overall, it was a luxurious boutique resort-like hotel in Bangkok with very friendly staffs.
The facilities and interiors were excellent and activities offered by the hotel are various - I enjoyed my Thai cooking class a lot. Also, speaking about Spa, the ambience, facilities, service, staff..everything was perfect.

Holy Moly!

I've gotta say, I've been staying at high-end design-driven hotels all over the world for the past 15 years and I have never been as impressed with the design of a spot as I was with the Siam. My wife designs hotels for a living, and I'm a 15 yr Creative Director, so suffice to say, we are rarely impressed. But this place knocked it out of the park.

Couldn't find a single flaw with the place if I tried. It's def a haven from the insanity of Bangkok. If you're going to stay here, realize it is not near the generic riverfront hotels like the Peninsula or Mandarian. Those are a 30-45 min boatride south. Don't even try to take a cab to the tourist areas. Consider this more of an escape from--or oasis within--the city, and treat it accordingly.

Food-wise, one of the best street food streets in Bangkok is directly across from the hotel, so if you want a mind-blowing $2 bowl of boat noodles for breakfast, just walk right out the door.

The staff suggested tons of really great excursions and restaurants, all accessible via the private boat, and most within a 15-30 min boat ride from the hotel.

We stayed in a Pool Villa suite and really didn't have a ton of reasons to leave, aside from getting the street food in the mornings.

Will def return.

First rate in everything!

Of the six places we stayed in Thailand in the various cities, this was at the top of our list. There was incredible attention to detail everywhere from the flower arrangements, to the artwork (both in and outside of the rooms), rich use of woods, amazing customer servcie and fantastic gourmet buffet breakfast. The almond croissants were to die for!

Beautiful and comfortable

We had a junior suite which was just lovely. Large bathroom, comfortable beds, and a great separate sitting area. The restaurant food was great. The property is quiet, located on the lake, and has it's own boat transportation for various areas along the river. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Had a beautiful pool, a large workout facility, complete with boxing ring, hundreds of antiques and collections throughout the hotel. The staff was very efficient and friendly. We loved our stay here.

Perfect luxury retreat from Bangkok

Amazing stay and a great weekend retreat from Bangkok. Everything was beautifully designed, a lovely marriage of quality antiques and modern luxury. The room was opulent - we love the bed and the tub especially. Food on site was good although catered to the western palate. Location wise it's far from central Bangkok, so we ended up spending lots of time in the hotel.
