If you have forgotten what great service in a traditional hotel is like come to the Hotel Continental. Everyone from the front desk to the dining room could not be more kind and helpful.
When I mentioned that we were going to the floating sauna on the Oslo fjord, Anna at the front desk offered to have towels and water ready when we left. So thoughtful and made a big difference at the sauna. She also offered a room upgrade without my asking.
Similarly the hostess in the breakfast room could not have been more pleasant and helpful. BTW the breakfast was among the best I’ve had in any first class hotel anywhere.
All in all it was a great stay that significantly added to our stay in Oslo.

Ideally located in the center of Oslo. Easy walk through the Christmas market, and five minutes from the piers hosting fjord cruises. Breakfast was perfect, plentiful options - fresh juices, broad selection of cheeses, pastries, etc. Concierge was phenomenal at locking in a multi-course dinner, same day. Room was immaculate.

This hotel is very well-appointed with a helpful staff. The problem (hence 4 instead of 5 stars) is that it is like 2 hotels. The first night my room faced a major turnaround that has the constant (all night) noise of trams - it has a turnaround for them in addition to being along tram lines. If you want a quiet place to street you need to ask NOT to face this street. After a sleepless night I asked to change rooms and was put in a very quiet room facing the courtyard. At that point it was an exact opposite experience. Apart from that, the hotel is extremely well-appointed in terms of amenities in the room - and the on-site restaurant is lovely. It is near a harbor with lots of shops and restaurants, as well as the National Museum. All in all, the experience was terrible the first night, but turned wonderful as soon as I changed to a much quieter location.

Came in late at 9pm and was trying to book . The staff said unfortunately we cannot book you because the booking office is closed . So i told her its ok i will book thru third party and she looks like she was not happy abt it and even told me “ it takes a while for it to go thru” this staff never gave me option .We felt discriminated and helpless . Luckily we know other options . She needs to be trained more and possibly never judge a person and treat them equally .

Lovely amenities and beautiful condition and attention to detail in every way. The hotel is mostly conveniently located in the downtown and just steps away from the National Theatre Station. Most of the tourist sights are within short walks from the hotel. The hotel room is new and clean and the bathroom is well equipped with utilities. Staff members are friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful stay in the hotel.

This hotel was in the best location! We walked and rode scooters everywhere and saw all of Oslo’s must see places. The train station was right across the street to get to and from the airport! We took the airport train to this location. It was the fast train and we got to the hotel quickly. About a 5 mins walk from the train station. Easy.
The hotel front desk agent was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation we had upon check in (Danish man working in Norway). He was very welcoming to us. He also upgraded our room for us out of kindness and it was simply exquisite. We loved our hotel room so much that we stayed in for the rest of the day and ordered room service from the hotel, which was equally amazing. It was a memorable stay and would highly recommend it.

Sad to give such a nice hotel a low rating, but one of the primary functions of a hotel is a place to sleep and you cannot do that here before 3am due to the loud thumping bass of the bar music across the street from the hotel. I can sleep through almost anything, but this one was tough since it is t the conversations or the music but the bass thumping that is coming up. It was louder than my white noise app and did not stop until 3am. Facilities, location, and service are excellent here—just a noise issue

NOISE, NOISE...This is a high quality hotel, decor is lavish and the ambiance is of high quality. BUT, as its basic function is to provide lodgings it falls very short. If your room is on the Klingenbergata side of the building you can expect not to sleep until the Macdonalds closes (at 4am on weekends). Until it closes, there is screaming (no exaggeration) girls and shouting guys constantly. You may think this is not the fault of the hotel, rightly, but when I mentioned it to the front desk, their response was 'yes we know, we might need to do a bit more to sound insulate' but they do not inform or warn guests before you pay around £350 per night for a room. I have stayed in many cities and they all have some city noise, this I dont mind and expected in busy city centres, but I may as well have had a party in my room, the noise was so extreme. Choose another hotel if you want sleep, at any hour, or join the party at Macdonalds till it closes.
