3rd time staying , didn’t disappoint . Location is excellent. Rooms are a little dated and worn , Wall lights are in the wrong places e.g scoundrel be positioned over beds. Breakfast and staff excellent. Should put sun beds out everyday around pool area , this only happened once during our 6 nights

The hotel is old and the rooms need a major uplift. The location is good, close to the Marina and to the beach. Plenty of free parking around but, very challenging to find an empty spot (i was there in August…). I found it overpriced but, it was a last minute reservation in the middle of the summer.
The staff is courteous, helpful and fairly professional.

Tired, dated and needs a refurb

Quick 3 night girls trip for sunshine and catch-up. Stayed at this hotel in 2020 and it was good however things have changed a lot and it’s now very tired looking. Appreciate repairs need to be made but sadly we were not informed before our visit and had two days of major building work which made it impossible to sunbathe round the pool…it must of been bad as they had a complaints book on reception for the guests to fill in. Whilst, this wasn’t ideal we took off to the beach and marina and stayed away for most of the day. Would I go back? No, instead I’d pay a bit more and stay at the Crowne Plaza. Other people may have had a different experience and hopefully the building work will improve the hotel as it’s looking tired and needs a good refurb. If you want base close to the marina and don’t intend to spend time around the hotel, then might be worth it if you can get a cheap rate. To be fair to the hotel, the staff were friendly and polite, and the buffet breakfast was nice, so it wasn’t all bad.

We had a studio room. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a large balcony. The decor was tired which we didn’t mind, but the kitchenette was very badly designed and very difficult to use.
The staff were friendly, but knew very little about the area. They didn’t even know what bus stopped at the stop right outside the hotel. There were no maps or information available.

Horrible old room with cracked shower tiles and no hot water. Balcony doors did not lock. Noise from casino patrons is so loud. Walls are thin - could hear neighbours cough. Bed too hard. So overpriced!!

Awful experience place is dated &noisy,bed &pillows uncomfortable.
No basics left for making drinks apart from a bottle of water.
Tiny bath towels and a fixed head shower on the wall that was too low.
Breakfast buffet was hit & miss some days ok and others rubbish.

Our first time in Vilamoura and enjoyed it very much.
The hotel location was excellent, great view from our room (618) but I think most of the rooms would have a good view.
All staff were very helpful, attentive & friendly. Must leave a special thank you to Savyata & Anil, they both looked after us (& everyone else) fantastically, nothing was any trouble. I must add that all the waiting on/dining room staff were a credit to your hotel, I personally do not think they get the praise they should. Along with the cleaners etc they are the backbone of the establishment.
Every part of the hotel we used was very clean, amenities good but everything looks a little dated. Décor, furniture, sun loungers etc
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay & would not hesitate to stay again & have recommended to friends and family.4

Loved my stay here. From the moment I arrived everything couldn't have been better. They arranged for my room to be ready prior to check in time and were so helpful. decent sized apartment with a large balcony with free fruit and water waiting. Pool area is very clean with plenty of loungers and also seats outside by the restaurant. 2 supermarkets only a couple of minutes away and the marina is literally on your doorstep. I will definitely stay here again.

Dom Pedro Portobello is very well positioned. Staff are very helpful and courteous. The hotel is a little dated and an upgrade would turn this into an excellent property within Vilamoura. Good breakfast with lots of choice and no rush to be out of the room like some hotels. Pool area is ok, again dated but there were plenty of chairs. Very close to the beach and marina so perfect location to explore the town

Would like to praise the staff... Ricardo was the best..
The hotel in not 4*. Possibly was as aparthotel in the early 90's, room decor and facilities were very poor.
The view on top floors is great but honestly just paying for location. Lobby looks good and outside pool well.
Breakfast is good but again looks dated..

Everything about the hotel was good,staff very friendly and the food was good.The only fault with the hotel was the shower didn’t hang up properly on the wall and you had to hold above you’re head but there was plenty power.

Perfect location

The hotel is perfectly located, only a 5 minute walk to the marina and to the beach. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The decor in the room is very dated and could do with a revamp, lighting is very poor and a lack of sockets.

Breakfast was great, continental and cooked options.

Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

Great location near the Marina and the beach and very well stocked with crockery/cutlery, etc. Breakfast was amazing catering for all tastes and included in the price. Free parking was a bit difficult to find this trip but not a problem when we stayed there in the past. Comfortable beds and a;together great value. Pity about the noise from men leaving the bars late at night though!

We had an amazing 6 nights here. We were in Room 208 which is above the restaurant. From here there is a view of the pools and a partial sea view. The room was incredible. A bedroom with twin beds and a small TV and a lounge with sofas and a large TV. Attached to the lounge there is a kitchenette with everything you could want to cook your own meals and a complete set of utensils and crockery---even a small bar area.

OK if you get an apartment with a view.

I don't know if we were just unlucky or that all Expedia customers get the worst apartments. We were given a first floor apartment overlooking the car park. When I spoke to the assistant manager about it he said we should have booked earlier as it's a busy hotel - we'd booked it 8 months before.
Apartment was dated and badly needing refurbishing.
Breakfast buffet was adequate.
Pool area was fine.

Nice hotel, 5 mins from the beach, 5 mins from the marina and had all the facilities we needed for a family holiday. We had a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious and had a large balcony overlooking the pool with a sea view. The hotel is a bit tired in places but overall it was a comfortable stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would be happy to go back if the opportunity arose.

We have stayed at the Portobelo a number of times and sadly the hotel seems to be going downhill each time.
The only redeeming feature is the staff. As always the are very cheerful and polite, and always try to be helpful.
The decoration is in sore need of refreshing in all areas.
In our apartment, the bedroom curtains could not be drawn properly as the hangings were broken and missing. The doors to the balcony in bedroom and sitting room were hard to open and noisy. The floor in the kitchenette was pitted and posed a hazard.
The fire extinguisher near the kitchenette was removed on a Monday for testing and was not replaced until the Friday.
The worst part though, was the drunken noisy behaviour of many of the guests. Some were frequently shout out the 'F' word and 'C' word, when in earshot of ladies and children, and not told to keep quiet by members of staff. Most, if not all, of the culprits were Irish golfers - so if this is the class of people that the hotel now welcomes then it is no longer for us.
We are very sad about this as we enjoyed our stays here in the past.

We have stayed at the hotel several times and are always happy with our stay. The bathroom could do with an update as the tiling is a bit shabby and we found the beds to be a bit too hard this year. However we enjoyed the buffet breakfast and as ever loved the views of the sea from the balcony and the proximity to the Marina. We would definitely recommend it and I'm sure we will be back.

Vilamora The Place to Be.

The Hotel is a short walk from the marina. Our balcony apartment allowed us great views across the sea. The apartment itself had a small kitchenette which would allow you to eat in. Two supermarkets are within 100 yards. An ideal holiday destination. The marina has some of the best restaurants you would wish to visit.

Good hotel, close to beach and marina

Very easy place to stay. Walking distance to beach and marina. We went off season but plenty of bars and restaurants open.
Great breakfast at hotel. Set you up for the day.
Two gripes, there wasn't a welcome pack ie tea / coffee in room and you had to pay for the safe in the cupboard ( usually free elsewhere ).

Super location

Perfect for a week in Vilamoura. Very handy for beach, marina, supermarket and bus stop.
Staff couldn't be better. Very helpful.
Great breakfast. We had dinner in Rafael's Restaurant on one occasion and it was excellent too.
We hope to return to Dom Pedro Portobello in the near future.

It was grand just need to look after their equipment for customers eg fridge the fridge did not work for two days of our 5 days trips and the bathroom bit dirty stained on the ground not in a bad way but wear and tear the apartment up to date and reviewung it ever so often.

A little gem of a spot!!

Arrived for a short 2 night stay. Have stayed before and the location, friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the hotel bring us back.
As an aparthotel, the rooms are spacious, balcony also a good size.
Recommended if you like the bars and restaurants around the marina- they're just a few minutes walk away
