Cleaning was random, some days they did it others they swept the floor. Front of us guy was lovely. Very dated room. Back door kept breaking. Dark rooms. We saw other rooms and they were much nicer so they are in the process of doing it up and we were unlucky.

Nice surroundings but very basic apartments.

The apartments are very basic and dated - and our air con was pretty poor (room 1112). Luckily we were there in September and not July! The pool areas are nice and clean. Restaurant and bar is fine but closes at 10pm. The nearest shop is a ten minute walk down a pretty steep hill which isn’t great for the walk back up carrying groceries. The marina is a 15 minute walk down the same hill. It’s fine if you have good mobility and enjoy a walk but my elderly father struggled. There are plenty Ubers so not that much of an issue.

Little Gem in the hiding

We had a fantastic stay in Vilamoura. The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable self-catering holiday. The location was excellent—close to the marina, restaurants, and shops—making it easy to explore the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. No aircondition in the bedroom in 36 degree heat, we didnt sleep too well!! Apartment very outdated, there was a very unsafe stairwell to the upstairs to get onto roof but no proper door, it was a metal see through shutter so didnt feel safe. We wont be returning.

We are a family of six, 2 adults 4 children ages 17,14,10 and 4.Very friendly on arrival, apartment isn't modern but has everything you need and very clean. We had a two bedroom apartment but would get three bedroom next time. Grounds around also very clean and tidy. Cleaner's called every second day. 10 minutes walk from marina would definitely go back.

Coming back to this one.

We have stayed for two weeks and overall, I would recommend this place as a excellent choice for couples. A very good mix of ages here, so not a retirement center for snowbirds. They have a really good staff that will sort out any minor problems that may pop up. Beds are comfortable and the food in the restaurant on site is very good. It is a 10 minute walk to the Marina where there are multiple shops and restaurants.

About 15 min walk to marina, quiet location, very spacious & clean 3 bed apartment with kitchen & 2 bathrooms. Staff on reception were very welcoming, helpful & friendly. Beautiful gardens/surroundings. About 20 min walk to the old village which was also lovely for cafes, bars & restaurants.

Bar abit pricey for drinks but plenty of bars & restaurants within walking distance.

Great 5 night stay.

Great stay. Spacious studio apartment (cleaned daily), two pools with plenty of sun-beds. We stayed for 5 nights and it seemed very reasonably priced - walking distance to Vilamoura (15mins) and Quarteira (20mins) with several restaurants closer. No complaints.

Perfect location for a relaxing family holiday

Perfect for young families and those looking for a quieter vibe. We had a ground floor pool view apartment, the apartment and balcony were spacious and great to have sun loungers there also. Both pools were lovely. They accomodated us for a late check in after 10pm. A little bit of a walk to the marina and local shop but we enjoyed being a little bit away from the hustle and bustle.

Pretty good hotel, but totally let down with the bar prices. 6 Euro's for a flat pint of lager, 9 Euro's for a simple chicken wrap. In the local bars you could get a beer for 2.5 - 3 Euro's.

Very nice complex and the room was clean and spacious. Slightly outdated but OK. Staff was very nice and helpful. Large balcony.
The only thing I didn’t really like was that there was a very loud English speaking, I think Americans, group out at the pool for several hours yelling.
I wanted to be able to leave early but the office didn’t open until 8:30 AM and I had to turn the gate opener in to them

We've booked for 1 night and before the time of checkout (11 am), our keys were blocked an the stuff was organizing the room for the next guest. Luck we had our stuff in the car already, but we did not manage to return to the room after our breakfast (It was around 10:20am). Very unrespectful, as we should have the room until the time for check out. Even that is was for only 40 min. Don't recommend.

The room was a little outdated and we had an issue with ants in the room coming from a few different areas, we called reception and they sent someone up promptly to douse all areas and this mostly solved the problem.

We did however, book a basic apartment and you can tell there are some super nice ones elsewhere in the complex.

The pools were great and loads to do there and staff really friendly. I’d absolutely stay again just go for a better apartment.

Such a nice cute little place but honestly I usually go by how helpful the staff is. 5 stars for them! Super friendly even through the phone. Everything that we asked them they were quick to get it fixed or make sure we were ok. Nice yard and pools. The kids also loved the playground. Will definitely come back.

The staff were more than friendly and accommodating, helping you with anything you needed. There was also a lot to do at the resort with tennis, cycling, 2 pools etc all very close together. The apartment we had was perfect with our own bit of garden which had both sun and shade throughout the day. The only issue we had was that as our apartment was new to the rental market they hadn’t put a safe in it yet which we would have preferred.

Our sixth stay in the haven of Pinhal da Marina. We are almost hesitant in our recommendation as we would like this holiday all to ourselves. So many guests return to this idyllic, welcoming and relaxing complex.
The staff are like old friends and take pride in ensuring you have an enjoyable stay. Located with a good 20 minute walk to the Marina, a car is useful if you would like to fill the larder, or just enjoy the lovely on site restaurant which includes take-away.

Quiet, secure location in garden grounds. Large apartment. About a 20 minute walk down to the Marina. 10 minutes walk to church and supermarket, and Chicos restaurant (excellent local food).

For me, I didn't find the bed very comfortable. Also, unseasonally cold and rainy when we were there, and difficult to warm the apartment.

First-rate staff at reception desk, very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Overall, good, and value for money. I'd recommend.

We had a great time. I feel a bit mean mentioning these things but am only offering as suggestions of something that could be improved: I would question the use of noisy leaf blowers to clear tree debris from paths and so on. I also think it is expected these days to have room internet at no additional cost and it would have been better to have an oven in the kitchen, in addition to the gas rings and microwave, though I recall that electric ovens could be requested for a returnable deposit. I also think that the computer made available in reception should be more safe to sit at as the stairs are to close to the back of the seat.

Apartment upgrade lounge and kitchen was fine , the bedroom was poor no double bed , mattress was soft , pillows like sleeping on a brick and no air condition all making sleeping difficult.
Bathroom/ shower room had no air circulation so after a shower mirrors and misted over so a an extraction fan would have helped .
The upgrade lacked the attention to detail that customers come to expect from holiday properties.

I cannot envisage how this place was ever awarded 4 stars. The apartment we had was old and v dated, the kitchen looked like the original from the 1970's, the drawers and cupboard were falling apart. The electrics were dodgy and several sockets gave us a shock when we used them. The furniture was atrocious, the twin beds had the worst mattresses; dare you roll over and risk being thrown on to the floor. The dining table chairs lacked any sort of padding, you were evidently sitting on the wooden frames. The sofas were mattresses, very springy and uncomfortable. The hotel claims to have WiFi, this is true for the reception and restaurant only, for the apartments themselves you need to pay for a router to be installed for your stay. They claim to have an adult pool yet they do nothing to enforce this policy and you find children in all pools with no sort of peace and quiet. House keeping forgot us twice so we were without toilet roll and clean towels. Bedding is changed once a week, unpleasant in the heat when there is no air con in the bedrooms. The apartments were clearly never built as a holiday resort, it is set in a residential development surrounded by bungalows, the apartments all have individual postboxes which makes me further believe that these were designed for residents and not tourist. The distance to the marina is fine but please don't waste your money here you can get a villa for the same price

Great apartment, could do with a little up dating but great for our stay (4 nights). Garden areas well maintained, and pool areas quiet and clean. Didn’t try the restaurant so cannot comment. Reception not open 24/7 so choose your times. Felt reception staff could benefit from some customer service training. However, the stay overall was lovely. We hired a WiFi router which was well worth it and also pool towels. 10 minute walk to the local Spar which was well stocked. 20 minute walk to Vilamoura marina.

Only have time for a short review so here goes...

Upon arrival the pinhal da marina looked very well kept which was a pleasant surprise. Checking in process was very efficient with staff who seemed very welcoming and friendly, we was even shown to our room.

We opted for pool view however found this was a little restricted with us being on the ground floor. However this wasn't an issue for me as we had sun loungers/ table and chairs etc.

The room itself (studio) was clean and near enough presented the way they were in the photos provided, slight wear and tear but nothing to complain about.

As for facilities in the complex we only took advantage of the two pools... both maintained well and plenty of sun loungers.

Our only concern before arriving was the distance from the marina, but we soon found that we could easily manage this in 15-20 minutes. Bit of a hill coming back which tired the legs after a long day so the option of a taxi will set you back about 4-5 euros.

Would highly recommend the pinhal da marina.

This is our second year staying at Pinhal De Marina. The apartments have a lovely setting. Lovely pool and restaurant & cafe. Very clean and suitable for a short break. Villamoura is only a 12 minute walk and has a lovely Marina and restaurants. Will be back for another holiday.

Beautiful surroundings and only 10 minute walk from marina, location is great and its a pleasant walk. There is a great spar within 5 minutes. Grounds are absolutely beautiful and pool, restaurant and playground etc. are all great however our 1 bedroom apartment was very disappointing, it was extremely dated, the bed settee in the living room was disgusting and definitely needs replaced, tiles are cracked and also very dated, there was a basement with a staircase in our room which belonged to someone else and we were told not to go down which made me feel very insecure. The bathroom was functional but dirty,very strong smell of urine and someone elses hair on the walls of the shower. I would imagine their are more updated rooms but we had asked for a ground floor which was great, thankfully we didn't stay long in the apartment as we were out doing things most of the time. To top it all of we came home on the last night to find that someone else had parked outside our apartment and the carpark was full, we had 2 sleeping children in the car as well as shopping and we asked the guy to move, he refused so we had pulled the car behind his so we could lift the children out and then move the car somewhere else well we ended up getting intimidated and threatened with the police by 2 men who own an apartment in the complex because they had said they had been there 35 years and we had only been there a matter of days, the man was just a bully and would not listen to me at all!!!!

Pinhal da Marina complex has various types of accommodation. We chose apartment with large balcony overlooking pool, bedroom, equipped kitchen and lounge with sofa bed. Very clean and spacious property. Distance is 10 minutes walk to Spar shop and approx. 20 minutes to Villamoura's beautiful marina, which is the central point for bars, restaurants etc. The property has 2 swimming pools,with a small children's pool. There is also an on site pool bar and restaurant that caters for all tastes and price range.

Excellent week in a large comfortable studio overlooking the pool. Lovely landscaped grounds, friendly and helpful staff. 15-20 minute walk to either the marina with its tourist bars and cafes. Quiet spot - away from the centre

Complex is quite large and secure with closed gates in the evening. Accommodation is clean and although ours was small , quite adequate for the price. Fine if you like to walk as some 20 mins from the marina and slightly uphill on the return.

The Wifi was good and freely available at Reception or the pool area. You can hire a router if needed .

Clean, Friendly, Comfortable Appartments

I can highly recommend the Pinhal de Marina Apartments we stayed here in September 2016 with a 4year old and a 6month old.
Staff were very friendly & accommodating towards us & our childrens needs. Amenities are clean and safe. We liked the fact that we could walk down to the Marina in the evening it's only a 10 minute perfect stroll.

We really enjoyed this holiday but felt that the accommodation could be improved by updating the furniture and making this more comfortable. The bathroom, though functional was very dated and tired.
The on site restaurant was excellent value for money which we visited several times

Well run apartments 10 mins from the marina

Lovely peaceful setting with pretty gardens and pool areas. Photos don't do it justice. Bright studio with large balcony and sea view. Very well equipped comfortable studio and spacious. Cleaned daily. Excellent value for money. Will visit again.

Lovely Quiet Relaxing Complex

Lovely apartment, bit dated but clean and everything you need. Stayed only for 5 nights and had everything I needed. Short 10 minutes walk to the local supermarket and 20 minutes walk to the Marina where you can find all types of food. Would recommend but not for anybody that has difficulty in walking if they want to go out of complex, but you can also get a local taxi for a free euros .

Nice hotel in a peaceful area and beautiful neighbourhood. The hotel is only a 15-20 minute walk to the beach and the marina. I'd recommend booking onto one of the many tours the hotel can arrange for you.
