We had an incredible stay here for my 50th birthday. The hotel is very well located to get into the marina at Vilamoura and local golf courses with free transfers. The facilities are great, with a decent gym, indoor and outdoor pool and it sits next to the largest spa in Portugal.

Food options were great too, we loved the breakfasts and evening buffet.

Also, big thanks for making my birthday so special too.

A fantastic resort with excellent facilities, especially the very well-resourced gym and incredible spa.

What stood out most was the friendly, warm and charming staff who at any time of day, from breakfast, dinner or in the bar always went over and above to make sure we were looked after.

The resort itself is an easy 20min walk to the marina and offers a shuttle bus there and back too so a perfect spot for visiting local restaurants. I’m not a golfer but it was also in the thick of some impressive looking courses too for those who are. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property, great price. Loved the spa. It was noisy when i was there due to a conference and you need to take an uber to go site seeing. Its a good property if you are looking to hangout at the hotel and enjoy the amenities. Although i recommend dinning out for lunch or dinner.

The Hilton Vilamoura hotel was a five star experience from the moment you enter the lobby. The decor is all very resort zen style and the staff was so helpful especially during a country wide power outage! We loved our week stay and appreciated the upgrade on arrival. Once the construction is finished the property will be gorgeous. The interior is nice- very spacious. Our room was new but was cold even with the heat on. I paid for a pool view and we see a dirty pond, bushes, a tiny bit of golf course, and parking lot. I was too tired to complain especially as the staff at check in wasn’t eager to assist us. Didn’t mind the construction but the arcade was still advertised so that was upsetting to not have open. The kids play area is outdoors and our kids loved it. The bar was cozy and the bar staff there was wonderful.

2-star experience from a 5-star hotel

Poor experience not expected from a 5-star hotel. Closer to 2-stars. This is my second stay in the complex, but based on my recent experience, is likely to be the last. Previously visited As Cascatas serviced apartments are significantly better than the hotel rooms.

The two connected rooms booked for the family of four (2 adults and 2 young children) were in derelict and heavily used condition:

- broken furniture in bedrooms including bent bed legs which made the beds wonky,
- lumpy mattresses which resulted in uncomfortable sleep,
- soundproofing does not work (pool side rooms will not be quiet enough to put and keep young kids in bed, scheduled entertainment can get too loud, albeit it cuts off at 10pm),
- walk-in showers that pump cold water without any sign of warming up,
- poorly arranged kitchen designed for people who do not cook,
- unintuitive location of cooking utensils and cutlery (no useful instructions in sight),
- blunt knives,
- fitted dishwasher separated from the cabinet unit (I had to push the unit back in it's place several times),
- small under-the-counter fridge with misaligned doors,
- broken kitchen door hinges,
- kitchen skirting boards out of alignment due to the dishwasher and fridge issues (had to push everything back in it's place just to use the kitchen),
- broken crockery and glassware (chipped broken glass was missed, the staff will run the dishwasher but do not expect any quality control),
- pool towel was removed by cleaning staff.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Rooms were nicely decorated with good complementary toiletries, an empty fridge for your own drinks, tea and coffee making fasciities and the tv has lots of channels, including the 5 main UK ones. The free Wifi was really good. Great choice at breakfast and food was of a high quality. Drinks were lovely, freshly mixed cocktails and good choice. Pool towels were large and of good quality, the sunbeds had comfy mattresses. Free Hotel shuttle bus ran every 2hrs throughout the day and up to 9pm.at night. It stopped at the beach and the marina.

Telephone not working. Never fixed it. Could not call room service for the 3 days. Otherwise a nice hotel. Clean rooms, spacious. Nice balcony to sit out.

Breakfast was expensive. €25 per person. For a family of 4, it turned out expensive. We decided to go out and eat and cost for 4 was €40. Hotel needs to think about this. Also, since i booked via expedia, i could not get HHonors points. Which i feel is not right. I am spending the money, but no credit.

Large Hilton hotel with everything necessary for a great holiday. Super clean, rooms spotless, breakfast as you’d expect from Hilton and staff very helpful and friendly. Shuttle bus takes 5 minutes to get to the marina but an Uber is less than 5 euros and arrive within minutes. Not much within walking distance, ‘pavement’ residential type affair, local Spar 10 minutes walk away but plenty shops in the centre of Vilamoura.

the area around the property is not very interesting, though we knew this upfront and shuttles are available to bring you to either the beach or harbor. One recommendation is for the shuttle to drive later back from the beach (16.00 is very early to end a beach day) as well as from the harbor (21.30 is very early to finish your dinner and get the shuttle back)

The property was fantastic, with a comfortable room and AC that worked! There was plenty on-site if you wish to not move, and with us only having a few days, that’s exactly what we did. We didn’t play golf, but I’ll be coming back to arrange a golf trip. The pool area was great, clean, and enough room to stay in the sun or shade all day (depending on preference). There was a games room and gym, and a fantastic spa all available.

My only criticism was the restaurant options, if you do plan on being on-site the whole time, you’ll be eating the same food regularly. Cilantro was their “fine dining” restaurant, and it was good - just not great! Whereas their poolside and grill bars saved the same sandwiches and burgers and nothing else. Maybe one more restaurant choice onsite with something in between the both would have made the stay all the more comfortable.

The hotel offers free shuttles down to the beach and marina which came in handy on our first day (there is a hotel tapas bar on the beach too, to slightly contradict my above statement, but again - it’s not directly on-site).

All in all, it was a great stay and I will be back. Next time we will make the use of the restaurants in town/the marina.

We spent 4 days at this beautiful hotel. The staff was wonderful! Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional with all the choices. I loved the omelette station! You have the choice of eating inside or outside. Poolside restaurant was very nice. The inside bar offered a nice selection of cocktails and snacks. There’s a shuttle service to the marina which is about 5 minutes away. We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful hotel but the pool arrangements need some attention.While fully understanding that children love to be in the pool there is no facility for adults who want to swim and not have to dodge ongoing water fight battles.There is a quiet area but this is often in partial shade and the pool is small..The Hilton in Malta which I would rate as 5 has a designated pool for over 16 year olds as well as large family areas That arrangement works well.

brilliant hotel a few rough spots here and there

The actual premises themselves are absolutely amazing. There is a lot to offer here if you are looking for a few bars and restaurants and a choice of pools. The food here is really good too and all of the staff 100% make you feel like they want you to have the best of experiences. It is a little out of the way of the beach or mariner but there is a shuttle or a little touritst train which takes you there every half an hour.

Downsides - we hired the presidential suite and this was quite dated with the dining table being split from use. Furniture had cracks in the bed side table, coffee table was split so i think they must not have purchased the best wooden furniture. They had marble tables which were heavily marked so it did make the room feel less special than it should have. Patio furniture was very dated and not pleasant to be around for that standard of room so we steered clear of the balcony etc. We did order room service as the food in the hotel had been so good but this was not great. However the hotel did address this and did remove the cost from the bill so you cannot complain at that. There is also no entertainment in the hotel but I think this is because we came in the quiet part of the season.

Overall the hotel and staff are exceptional and whilst there are some negative we will definitely be returning . thanks for a great stay !!

I was travelling with 2 kids under 6 and the staff were all so kind to them. We were there in March and I believe the outdoor pools had just opened so they were cold, but the indoor pool is lovely. My 5 year old loved the playground and the staff there was so nice! I would definitely return here.

The hotel is dated and needs an upgrade.
The room was comfortable but water pressure very low, barely adequate for a shower - also barely hot. I was told at the reception that it needs to run for at least 5 minutes before warming up - unfortunately it didn't.
The staff were friendly.
The spa was not in a good condition, some areas closed off, just generally run down.

Disappointing for babies

This hotel is obviously good for groups and golfers but not really family. It’s just not baby friendly. Although there were lots of babies there at the same time, the service around them was quite poor. There’s almost nothing to feed an 11 month old for any meal and this was the hardest thing. The pool is freezing so when it’s their only activity of the day it’s so disappointing. There’s nowhere to sit outside and have a drink. The entrance to the kids club is up a few flights of stairs so no way you can get a buggy up unless you lift it. Just small things would make this place so much better. I was disappointed and won’t go back.

Poorly managed hotel, no Senior Management actively seen to ensure the hotel is running as it should be.

Breakfast is always a queue to get in and poorly organised.

Toilets nearest to the pool were out of order for the entire week.

No stairs to access the various floors so have to use the lifts each time.

Pool bar was good but charged 4.50 euros for a large bottle of water.

Pool area is poorly maintained and none of the coffee tables are even cleaned. No presence of staff going around the pool cleaning.

Public areas of thr Hotel is in serious need of refurbishment, removing the fake rockery around the pools would be a good start!

The staff are so lovely here. This was our second time at this hotel and we can't wait to come back.
The whole hotel is lovely with all the different pools and plenty of comfy sunbeds and parasols. The food at breakfast and cilantro is wonderful too.

Unfortunately the pool bar and spa pools were shut during our stay.

Some smaller lunch options would be nice at the aqualera restaurant.

If there is people around the pool in which it was busy then these amenities should be open. Bar staff negative attitude keep you waiting while he polished glasses. We stayed for one night but as it coincided with the Portugal masters, certain sections of the hotel were off limits to regular guests. It would have been nice to have been pre-warned especially as the bar for guests closed at 10.30pm! (The usual bar was closed for The masters participants but theirs was open until midnight at least!)
More importantly, the air conditioning didn’t work which made it a very uncomfortable night and we were charged €45 to have our dog with us which is fine but we were told we would be provided with a bed, dog bowl etc for that fee. Needless to say, that didn’t happen either so I think this is a steep fee. It really felt as though we were shoved in an old room (which also had a broken glass screen between the bathroom and bedroom) because all focus was on the Masters. As an ex-Diamond level Honors club member, I can say this is the worst Hilton experience I’ve had worldwide.

Although the hotel was lovely, the standard of cleanliness in our room was very disappointing. Staff at reception were excellent and very helpful and did their best to rectify the situation however after the room being cleaned twice, it was still not great. would expect more from a five star hotel.

Beautiful hotel, extremely clean inside and the grounds kept in excellent condition. Great for kids, families, couples or singles. Breakfast lovely so much choice. Definitely going back!!!!

Very friendly helpful staff. Useful free transport to beach and marina Only gripe I had was people going down at 7.30 in the morning to put towels on beds by pool and then not using them for hours. The staff didn’t monitor it as sign said they would so often no chance to have bed by pool.
