Stayed about 13 years ago so knew that it was good, simple accommodation, set in nice grounds.
Everything you need, although basic in some ways to ensure you’re self-sufficient ie fridge-freezer, cooler, microwave etc

Only downful was arriving in the dark and trying to find apartment which wasn't greatly lite up nor signed well

Nice area to stay not to busy, room not really that clean, melted cheese from a pizza still in the microwave, black bits of something in the bottom of the fridge, and on the floor in the outside area there was brown nasty stuff which had been trod in not nice, reported it reception, it was still the same when we left

Apartments were clean and plenty off room cleaning staff very friendly nice clean swimming pool and area around pool good restaurant at pool good menu and priced well not many choices of beer at pool bar staff at pool bar very nice especially irish lady that looked after us bus stop just outside for marina or albufeira great taco bar and restaurant 5 minutes walk beside spar shop all staff at predo do golf were very frendly

Nice and peaceful, pool & bistro area were lovely. A stress free trip for a family of 5. Good location for getting into Vilamoura and surrounding towns. Bus worked out more expensive for us so we used the friendly and reasonable Taxi’s in the area.

The room facilities were fantastic, the kitchen was very well equipped. The whole break was fantastic, the only thing that let the stay down was the fact the bar only opened on the Friday night and the restaurant was closed.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Prado do Golf but there is definitely room for improvement.

First of all, the reception is unmanned from 6pm so if you arrive after that, all you get is an envelope stuck to the door with a map to get to your room and instructions. There is no-one to speak to should you need anything. The bar also closes quite early (around 10pm I think) so if you arrive after that and want food or drink, you'd have to go out of the accommodation and look for something local.

The rooms are very dated and could look so much better with a bit of modernisation. Our villa had broken tiles and cracks in windows that really should be fixed and my Mum & Dad's had a patio that had clearly been broken into but never repaired.

Our door handle fell off on the first day so had to be fixed then a few days later, our key would not come out of the door when it was unlocked, only when it was locked?!? I reported it to reception but they could not do anything about it as it was a Sunday and we left the next day.

Other than that it is a decent base, the bar served decent food but mainly pub grub typed food and the pool was nice and well kept. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it really needs some money spent on moderinising and repairs.

Not the place we throught we booked

We originally thought we had booked the Prado Do Villa's which we have stayed in a number of times, the pictures do not differ too much at all. This is the sister site and is apartment blocks of 4 instead of individual apartments.
The roads around the site are poor and need of resurfacing, the apartments are all very dated and in need of a refresh. The site does not have a fence around it allowing wide life in and out, which is also not ideal for families with children who want to play outside the apartment.

Although the apartment is kept clean and tidy there is a number of issues with vents being clogged with bird nests, apartments having a damp smell about them, bathrooms not having suitable vents, kitchens require an update, beds were horrendous to sleep on, TV was from the 90's with a very poor signal that no channel was worth watching. The site did have wifi but very intermittent and could only really be used stood outside the reception block.

Disappointed with the apartment overall but the services like the bar, cafe, pool were very good and the staff at the bar were very helpful throughout the holiday.

I had a late check in. The staff had thoughtfully left the heating turned up and lights left on so I had a nice cosy room to welcome me on a cold January night. The staff were very pleasant most helpful with information about the area.

Intruder in the night

We found the whole stay unpleasant /
The lady at the reception was not helpful or didn't seem to be bothered with showing us where our room was . The villa was freezing and when we put on the heating we found we couldn't turn on the kettle at the same time . When we rang the manager Isobelle to see what was going on she was dismissive and
informed us we couldn't do the two things at the same time due to lack of power
We found during the whole stay the fuse kept on going off if we used two appliances at the same time

However our worst experience came couple of days before leaving
We got an intruder in the middle of the night ! !
At about 1.30 am a person broke into our villa and STOLE money from my husbands wallet whilst we
were asleep . I woke up whilst he was doing this and he quickly scurried away
I woke my husband up and we called the police immediately
When we informed Isabelle about this she was not only unsympathetic but her whole attitude was uncaring and unresponsive . She couldn't be bothered it seemed
This has to be the worst place I have stayed in on holiday as it turned out to be more of a nightmare than a holiday !

Comfortable apartments close to Golf complexes

Chose Prado do Golf as it was central for Golf, next to Old Course, and within a few minutes taxi ride of all other courses in the Vilamoura area. The apartments were clean and spacious, staff were friendly and accommodating.

An ideal base if you are looking to play Golf or just relax

Hotel was convenient for golf tournament held on the Victoria course. Walking distance to Spa shop and multibank. The Bistro bar served good meals and was in a pleasant area by the pool. Apartment was practical for self catering with all kitchen equipment available. Maid came every other day to clean the apartment, perhaps the hotel might consider having recycling facilities as nearest ones were at or by the Spa shop. Location just outside Vilamoura town was good for larger shops and the pharmacy. Pleasant visit to the marina with all the restaurants. Would consider staying there again.

Relaxation in the Sun

Very comfortable dated but just as it always, excellent space in the villa, clean all you need really. Could just do with some updates in some parts furniture, the only real miss for some could be lack of Wi-Fi we all need contact at some time and this would be my only minor problem, excellent pool bar with great hosts and great food very pleasant place to relax.

Nice place, no stress!

Arrived about an hour earlier then planned but no problem - checked straight in, no fuss. Villa was basic but comfortable with everything we needed.
Maid came in twice in the week and the place was spotless!
We didn't spend a lot of time at the pool or restaurant but they both looked nice and seemed popular with other guests.
Great location, easy to find- definitely recommend it.

The accommodation was fairly basic but represented excellent value for the price. The room upon arrival was clean and tidy but not so easy to find as we arrived late in the evening and the directions somewhat vague, some areas of the complex were in darkness understandably in consideration of other guests but a simple illuminated sign stating which block you were looking at would have helped as a white cube looks the same as any other white cube on the complex. Plenty of room inside and a nice balcony to sit out on with a meal or drink with a reasonable amount of privacy afforded or a large dining table inside to suit. All the kitchen items were fully serviceable, crockery, glasses, pots and pans etc and an iron and board to take out those suitcase creases! Clean bath and hand towels provided in the bathroom and a very good overbath shower, never any issues with hot water either!! On the downside the TV was a very old model with limited reception, no problem if your out and about during the day but should it be raining and you were inside for a length of time not so good. A couple of the kitchen floor tiles needed replacing and the bathroom could do with a lick of paint but overall you could not fault it for the price paid. The swimming pool and area were clean and tidy and plenty of loungers but a few more umbrellas would not go amiss? The bar and bistro provided good food and drinks, value for money and the hosts were very pleasant to the customers.

Stayed here for 10 days and arrived at 10pm. The reception was closed (closed every day at 6pm) and on the front door was attached a note, the key and a map to the villa. In the dark we searched 20 mins for the accom. The villa was ok, basic with a kitchen and bathroom (hot water every day which was great). The view to the 'garden patio' was dissapointing. A 10ft mound of sand outside our window and the grass was scorched bare. Poorly maintained grounds looked shabby to be honest. Our bathroom smelt of urine when we arrived and we soon discovered that the toilet leaked to the extent that it flooded the entire bathroom leading to the bedroom. The pool area was attractive but as we didn't ever see anyone maintain this area, I was reluctant to swim in the water for fear of picking up an infection which has previously happened on holiday due to dirty pool water. We decided to go next door to the apartamento do golf where the grounds and pool area are top notch and maintained daily having stayed there four years earlier but unfortunately it was booked up this year. On the plus side, the bar area at Prado do Golf was housed by an English family and the food was delicious and inexpensive. 7 euros for a full Greek salad. Drinks from 2 euros. However, the bar closed 11pm every night, 9pm on Sundays and there is absolutely nowhere open in Vilamoura after these times. You need to catch a 10 minute cab to the marina to enjoy more nightlife. Bus stops are located outside which take you to the marina, Faro and Albufeira (upto 6pm running). Albufeira is great for the 18-35 age group and has a wonderful beach. The marina in Vilamoura is also packed with restaurants and bars and a lovely beach. Overall, if you want very basic accom where there are few facilities and you know you will be travelling elsewhere, the Prado will do to rest your head. It would suit someone who is experienced with backpacking as the accom is basic and not the cleanest.

Peaceful quiet large apartment, excellent pool, bar, bistro, in a lovely area of Vilamoura. The apartment was large and roomy clean, Staff obliging and helpful. The general place is just a little tired, late season, but this did not in anyway affect our stay it was really good and I can recommend it to anyone.

Nice and peaceful and easy access to main roads

Very quiet complex and nice and peaceful.
Villas were a little dated however they were clean and tidy and had everything in them that you needed and plenty of room.
Parking was easy and nearby and it was quick to drive into Villamoura and to get to the main highway.
The pool area was clean and tidy and plenty of space for everyone and all the beds and umbrellas in excellent condition.

Basic facilities.

We were greeted by a friendly young staff member and given our key. The apartment was very basic. The bed cover had to be washed as was very dirty. The pillows were very small but they provided extra pillows when asked. The kettle and can opener were replaced when asked for replacement items. The room was furnished with broken furniture. We put two arms on the very low armchairs to make two completed ones, leaving the spare chair without arms. The apartment was good for a basic accommodation stay. The staff were helpful. The appearance of the site is abit untidy, but had a pool and bistro which we did not use. The bed was comfortable, which was good. Excellent airconditioning units, which did heat and cool. The telly was very old, but had alot of English speaking TV channels.

Basic comfort but really nice and quiet location

A really nice villa in a quiet area with comfortable beds.
We were really missing a washing machine and a larger drying rack.
The fridge and TV were old. No freezer either, but I could see them changing appliances in the villa next to us.
Overall however we spent 2 really nice weeks there.
The place is 3km from the sea so would recommend a car, there's also a lot to see around.

Quite villa about 40 minutes walk into town, but had bus stop in front of reception. Kitchen was very clean and well equipped. Bedroom was ok and linen changed during the week. Bathroom had bath but only had a hand-held shower. Living area was comfortable. Good value for money.

This is not a hotel, but a selection of holiday apartments. Our apartment was 1 bed with kitchen/ lounge/ diner and bathroom. The whole place is a bit tatty and needs a makeover. There was no breakfast offered (unless you were prepared to wait until midday). It is some way out of the centre, which is 7 minutes or so by car and far too far to walk. We had our beds made on the 3rd of our 4 night stay. Price was very good, but next time, we will find somewhere nearer the sea and pay more.

Lovely small villas in peaceful area.

Prado villas are in a very peaceful area, as a regular traveller to the algarve thought I would try prado villas , they are nice small villas a little oldsyworldy don't expect modern. But do expect clean and every thing you would need for self catering. A car is a must if you want to get around , walked to vilamoura fast speed took 45 minutes , read review before booking and someone wrote 20 mins must have been that bolt fella !
There is a bar in complex with bistro, and pool. So not a problem for snack.
A perfect place for a relaxing holiday but a car will help as not much in surrounding area.
The best place to eat is a place called cabana in quarteira taxi would know ( the main restaurant with long wooden tables) .closed Sundays.
If you like bars noise etc nearby this is not the place. As a peaceful base away from the bright lights it's perfect.

Budget accommodation, clean but tired and does really need some investment throughout, including pool and bar area. Quiet location, easy to find, easy to access centre of Vilamoura etc and close to golf courses. Ample free parking. Ideal as a budget base but not really if you want to spend time at the villa as little furniture, and this was basic / broken but for budget price cant expect 4*.

Our little haven!!

The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Luciano in reception who couldn't have been more kind and helpful. The shower needed fixing and, when reported, was fixed within the hour!! The food in the Bistro was great, the atmosphere nice and relaxed. Loved sitting out on our patio, not overlooked by anyone and enjoying a peaceful breakfast or drinks in the evening. Just our type of place, no concrete jungle, just relaxed with beautiful shrubs and greenery to enjoy. We would certainly recommend this place!

The hotel was good considering how much we paid for it- everything was a little dated but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were little niggles such as windows not locking properly, bbq grill missing, teapot lid missing, t.v remote missing not much in the way of utensils etc in the kitchen but otherwise was a pleasant stay- pool area was nice although only three parasols to go rounds between everyone- more would have been nicer. Poolside bar/bistro was really nice with lovely staff. We had a car but within five minuet walking distance of small supermarket and bus stop right outside if you didn't have a car. Wi-fi only accessible in very limited areas and no air conditioning but all in all a lovely week and good for what we paid for it.

The lodge was lovely and represented good value for the money. Pool was nice and clean. Room was clean and tidy but no cleaners came during our stay and towels without asking would have been good. The venue is close to 2 good supermarkets and the main town is a lovely walk away. Overall at the price we paid for that time of year we cannot complain and the above crits are only minor... Ooh air conditioning is a must...

This complex is pass its sell by date and is a long way out of town with no shops or restaurants nearby.This is made up for by a bus stop being directly outside.Our appartment was however clean,spacious and had plenty of hot water.Reception staff were most helpful.It represented good value for money although some may prefer to be nearer to Vilamoura town it would be ideal for golfers.

We have stayed here many times, the staff are very welcoming and helpful,.
The villas are fairly basic but reasonably well equipped.. We were upgraded from a villa to a deluxe apartment this visit, so very nice.
It is best to have a car as there are no restaurants nearby except for the bar in the complex. A bus stop is outside the front entrance.

Really nice resort - no complaints at all - the only thing Negative was that it was a little bit tired - nothing major at all, just little things like the internal temperature dial in the fridge was broken, an external seal on the oven was rusty, one of the corners on the plastic patio table was broken off and jagged, the grass needed cutting - but over all, it was very clean and tidy, spacious, comfortable and well equiped. The swimming pool and surrounding area was well kept and clean - the pool bar was great value and the sunday roasts were fantastic (smile) -

The hotel was quite a distance from the Marina and the Beach. A car is a must, as the nearest Supermarket was a 15 minute walk away. Lovely little
Bistro at the resort, which did an excellent breakfast everyday. The villas are very homely, the beds were comfortable. My only disappointment was there
was no hairdryer supplied.

Tired and scruffy.

This site is very tired and rather scruffy. The villa, whilst providing all the basic features needed, was poorly furnished with a broken chair and hard uncomfortable beds.
The access to entrance door meant climbing steps which we found to be strewn with dangerous hosepipes and being unlit very hazardous
A family with small children would find the grassed area to be dangerous, as no barrier exists between this area and a sheer drop to the road in some places.
The bar and pool were well serviced and the prices for food and drink reasonable and of good quality.

good value, villa style accomodation

attractive setting, good for a quiet, relaxing break. we are familiar with vilamoura so knew that prado do golf was away from the main shopping and marina areas, which suited us. we hired bikes which made the trip into the town or marina very accessable. the new bike lanes make it safe cycling. we also like walking so it was a pleasant walk to the town: 15 minutes cycling or 40 mins walking. the bikes allowed us to hang our of bags of shopping on the handlebars to save carrying them! to save carrying heavy items like large bottles of water we asked our taxi driver to stop on route from the airport to the villa at the supermarket for a quick dash in. we love the portugese coffee and always stopped somewhere for a morning coffee, particularly good and cheaper at vilamoura tennis cafe on rua EUA (you don't have to play tennis!). the local bus stops outside prado do golf, useful if you don't have a car.

Will be back again

A small complex of about 30 villa's and appartments some one and some two bedrooms. The furnishings are dated in many, but a few have been brought up to date. Although dated they were clean and comfortable and towel and bed linen changed regularly. This is a quiet site ,some 3kilometers from Vilamours marina and a car in my opinion is a must although a number of holiday makers used the local bus service and taxies. There was a full sized electric oven with 4 rings, a kettle and a toaster with all other utencils and crockery necssary for self cattering. There is a bar /resturant and lovely swimming pool on site. This site, staff and acommadation suits us fine, we being two 68 year olds, not recommended for children, nothing for them on site

good place to stay it would be a good idea to have a car as Villamoura is a good 45 minute walk away or 10 minutes taxi ride. very good area for golf 5 very good courses within 5 minutes of the villas. staff at the complex were very good and helpfull.
we will return to Prado du golf with out doubt.

GOOD INEXPENSIVE AND WITH THE BEST POOLSIDE BAR/RESTAURANT IN THE ALGARVE.

Prado do golf is an ideal base for a short stay in the Vilamoura area. Villas and apartments are very good value.The poolside bar/bistro is excellent and the service second to none.Sylva is an absolute delight and nothing is too much trouble for her. The site is a little way out of the Marina but the bus stop is right outside and takes five minutes[2 euros] and runs once an hour until about 7pm.A taxi is about 5-6euros.There is nothing about in the evening as Sylva likes to close at 10pm [she opens about 8.30am most days] so the marina is where most people head for.The complex is very quiet and the pool very good with hardly any one there when we stayed.We also used the stay to play some golf on the Old course which is about 50yards away. Do not book before arriving but go to the course ang get a deal on the day..we got a round and buggy for 70euros which is excellent value as it would normally cost 120euros just to play.Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but be prepared to spend a little on getting to the marina/beach for entertainment. It was very quiet when we stayed [mid Sept] but the weather was terrific.My only slight gripe is that some of the villas do need a paint of coat/decoration.I would recommend Prado do golf to anyone as excellent value for money.

Car hire needed.

Nice place, not good for those without a car.
There is no shop on the complex or within walking distance so I had to get a taxi whenever I wanted to eat.
On the good side, Villa was basic but clean. Nice area, but car hire is necessary.

Very good and friendly staff members of the hotel. apartement had everything you need for a vacation stay and the romms were clean, nice view from the veranda. Only thing is that the beach is quite far away and the busses do not operate so ofen.

We visited in March in unusually wet weather so the place was very quiet. However the villa was comfortable and in pleasant surroundings. Very good value for money for the Villamoura area.

Villa was functional and what I expected for the cost.....Don't expect the Ritz when you are only paying Travel Lodge prices......Restaurant and Bar Staff were friendly...I can recommend the Chefs Shellfish Special.

simple and basic but warm and welcoming

Just returned this morning from a long weekend at Prado do Golf. Yes the place is dated but it is very clean, well equiped and comfortable (there were even towels supplied which I was not expecting). It wonderfully quiet and relaxing.
I hired a car but didn't use it other than driving to and from the airport. The car they gave me which they said had no scratches was very damaged including the wheel trims. Don't forget that when they check the car you will be charged for any damage so if you don't notice it at the start you cant prove that you did not cause it. Its not far from the airport and I didn't even put any petrol in it!
There are miles of walking/jogging/cycling tracks and its not too hilly. You can hire bikes at the reception.
The local people were all wearing coats and the Brits had tee-shirts and shorts on (their winter is as warm as our summer!).
Go with an open mind this place is not expensive so don't expect luxury but for a basic relaxing holiday it was excellent.

Relaxing break

Lovely hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. Perfect for a quiet relaxing break if that is what you are looking for. Limited menu available onsite but supermarket within walking distance for food and other supplies.

Rooms were very spacious and comfortable and feel almost like a home away from home.

My only complaints would be that on our first night of arrival the reception was closed - they left my room key in an envelope taped to the door of reception with no information as to where we could obtain food etc so we had to go hungry on the first night which wasn't ideal.

Other than that a great holiday and would definitely go back

This area of Portugal is very golf orientateted, but for those of us not interested in golf, there was very little to do, even the various sports like tennis that were advertised did not seem to be available. We enjoyed our stay, and the peace and quite that we aim to find by holidaying out of season, but the decision not to hire a car and use public transport was probably a wrong one. The villas were compact and tidy if a little run down but be aware the nearest useable suermarket is a few miles away and the on site bistro was prone to closing without notice, having said all that i would return. When the golf is on i am sure the area comes alive, but maybe there should be a stage between dead and alive.

10 days in the sun

As the name suggests, ideally situated for golf, with all Vilamoura courses within 10 mins. Marina 5 mins away by car, or taxi although you may have to wait a while depending on time of night. Complex of apartments and villas with central pool/bar/restaurant, ideally suited to families, but equally suited to small groups. Staff very friendly and food at restaurant of good quality and price.

very isolated which is good if you want peace and quiet
