firstly what a fantastic hotel - stayed for 2 weeks and had a very relaxing break and stay - staff very friendly and helpful, with the Botanic bar a personal favourite BUT disappointingly it is NOT a golf resort (private members only) as we were politely ushered out of the clubhouse when enquiring about tee times 😢 but still a good spot for the other vilamoura course - overall a great stay but would have been nicer to play golf ⛳️

Not really 5 star service. Room abit tired furniture chipped and one bedside table extremely damaged in top. Lounge furniture looked dirty. And swim up pool an exaggeration. This is a narrow strip of water. Hotel photos misleading. Lead you to believe there is a large lounging bed and plants but there wasn’t. Just two uncomfortable plain loungers. Room service took 3 attempts to get a basic pizza order right. Housekeeping did not replenish tea and coffee and supposed complimentary water. Overall I was very disappointed compared to other 5 star experiences. Pool staff are the best compliment I can pay - very attentive for drinks and towels. I wouldn’t recommend nor return.

Excellent all round hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the Marina which is really handy, allowing you to explore every night, if you want. Only downside is it finishes at 9pm, a bit early really.
I will definitely be returning if th welcome and cleanliness and buffet breakfast is always as good!

Beautiful resort with a very calming vibe. It’s very big but never felt like there were lots of people around or overcrowded. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Large variety of options at breakfast.
The only issue we faced is that it’s quite far away from anything, the nearest shop for amenities is a 25 minute walk away, and you need to get taxis everywhere as there isn’t anything in walking distance or any local transport options, although the resort offers free drop off/pick up at the Marina 3 times per day. Would highly recommend for a relaxing and luxurious break.

This was a nice quiet hotel about 12 mins away from the marina. No one was fighting for sun beds, the bars and restaurants were all very pleasant. Great choices of pools. I think I would go back.

This is a beautiful hotel, although in some places, it could do with some refurbishment. The staff are excellent, very helpful and the pool service was very efficient. We enjoyed the complementary shuttle service to the Marina every night, although it would have been nice if the last bus back had been after 9pm. Highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was perfect for short chill out by pool break. Music at pool bar was a bit loud be one day with music that was not relaxing.
Some large groups were a bit loud in one day and their swearing language was bot pleasant to hear when they sat may us at the pool . It was only for 2 hours. Not much the hotel can do about that. Bfast was great . Evening bars were quiet and should really have bar near pool in evening to have somewhere nice to sit. Only issue with room was no light that you can see properly at mirror so my wife found it very hard to do makeup. Lights in bedroom badly designed and complex. Too bright or too dark . We had a great weekend and would visit again.

Pleasant hotel, particularly if the weather is good and sun bathing is your goal. In poor weather, problems arise as the indoor pool is chargeable at €25 p.p./ hr. The outdoor pool is heated. A car could be regarded as a must have to get out and about as the hotel is 3 miles out of town. Shuttle bus runs into Vilamoura 3 times per day

I particularly found the way that he spoke a bit out of tone.
Bed linen and towels were not in good condition and the cleaning was ok but needs lots of improvement.
I would prefer not to share pictures of bed linen, towels and cleaning as I hope we were just unlucky.
The bathrobes and slippers were so beautiful and fluffy (Love them)

I have stayed in several hotels and this is probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in. The staff are excellent especially those in the restaurants and the reception staff. I even met the manager who was lovely. I plan to return sooner rather than later. There is also a free shuttle that takes you to the Marina and brings you back. All the staff were friendly and were always smiling. They are a credit to an absolutely fantastic hotel. I can't wait to go back.

The area was very beautiful and tranquil, the resort was first class, staff were all friendly and very accommodating, always eager to help.
They had free shuttle rides into the Marina and back which was so convenient, with lots of activities on offer. Beaches, shopping malls and supermarkets nearby and a lot of other nearby towns to visit.
I definitely will be going back and will recommend it to my friends.

From when we arrived at the hotel to the day we left, everything was absolutely fantastic. All staff were friendly and respectful and couldn’t do enough to help. The room we stayed in was perfect, the quality and choice of food at breakfast was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at the hotel. I would highly recommended staying in this hotel.

Unfortunately we were only there for one night but back in June . Staff and hotel all excellent we didn’t want to leave , breakfast was very good with so much choice and all yummy , we ate the food in the evening at the Bar and it was excellent very large portions delicious also a good wine selection would definitely recommend this hotel .

Poor overall. Rooms are tired and need TLC service is appallingly slow or non existent. Worst of all are the flies at the buffet. So many flies and it makes me gag. Feels like NH Hotels are really cutting back and it doesn’t have that luxury feel. Special mention for Joana(?) who genuinely seems to like her job and works tirelessly and special mention for the cats who are gorgeous.

Great location for the Vilamoura golf courses. Hotel staff were excellent throughout. One small thing to watch is that the complimentary shuttle to and from the course at Millenium is only available up to a certain time of evening (check before you go as we nearly missed it).

The property is very tired. No air conditioning in the common areas. Air conditioning in the rooms barely works. This causes lots of flies at the buffet and lobby. The pool area and the food at the pool are good at least. We had an expensive handbag stolen from our room by staff.

After a long wait due to COVID we wanted a wonderful relaxing holiday and boy did the Anantara deliver. The hotel is stunning with excellent large clean rooms great buffet breakfast and evening meal on our half board basis in the Victoria restaurant onsite.
The staff are just fantastic, warm friendly and willing to help always with a smile. Claudio one of the staff was a constant delight he just seemed to be everywhere whether grabbing a drink at the pool or as a waiter in the evening.

Hotel is in quite a remote location, with no restaurants nearby, but shuttle to the beach is very useful as it drops you at Vilamoura Marina. No WiFi access at main pool but available at adults pool. Food and beverages in hotel are very good. Would recommend having a car - free valet parking is available.

Very dissapointed with Anantara Algarve as it had very little to do with my past experiences in other Anantaras.
Maintenance needs to be done in pool area to keep up to standards (broken tiles, some parts of wooden floor needs replacement).
Room was very basic.
Very good breakfast but on one of the days ,they served canned mushrooms (not acceptable for a 5 star)
Gym only opened from 10 am - 7pm with max 2 guests (If you have a limitation of only 2 guests per hour why not open earlier?)

Great staff , special mention Joanna and Jose poolside and very welcoming . Rooms nice . Good vibe considering just opened up air corridor . Nice breakfast. Felt Covid safe. Only issue for us was poolside WiFi was really poor. Prevents it being excellent.
