The hotel is perfectly located and convenient access to beach and boardwalk. We did have an issue with ants in the first room we had been given, however staff did their best to address and was able to move us, after one day, to another room.

Overall the hotel was ok / good

Food was varied but nothing that made you want seconds ( just ok ).

Best thing about the hotel was the staff - awesome, helpful and always pleasant)

Room was smallish ( first 2 nights we had lots of noise from neighbours).
Bathroom clean but layout is not great ( but of a squeeze when opening and closing the door)

Pool was nice and hotel limit access to the pool so loungers were not booked by breakfast 👍

Close to the beach, promenade, bars and restaurant.

Parking is a little annoying because it's general public parking spaces so it's not always easy to get a parking.

Location of the Hotel is ca. 50- 60 m. from the beach. Near the hotel are many restaurants with delicious sea and normal food.
The staff in the hotel are very helpful and communicative, a breakfast was average with many choices and every day was a little bit different.
A cleanliness in the room could be better ,I didn’t look meticulously but anyway we found some small hairs and duvet cover had some stains. Some objects in the room could be renewed because they are showing signs of wear

Clean and comfortable,a little dated but for the price it is excellent. Food choice was ok but not very hot but a microwave is provided so you can always heat it up.
Rooms are clean and tidy but the bathroom could do with redecorating, plenty of hot water. If you like a cuppa in your room take a kettle as they are not provided, was not a problem for us.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wifi didn't work anywhere but the lobby and barely worked there. Seemed that you needed to be in a small radius to get any connection. The bathroom shower barely drained so we avoided showers as it felt gross to be in a pool. Room itself was nice with sea views. Tv had no channels. Majority of guests where retirement age and food was geared towards the English. Location was great close to beach and boardwalk. Price made it worth it but likely won't stay again. The hotel felt old and needed a bit of a facelift. One elevator was broken which for the clientele it caters to = not ideal.

Although other reviews were from good to bad my experience was excellent, the food was outstanding great variety and all fresh and appealing to varied diets.
Location was great close to the bus terminal ten minutes and one road back from the pedestrian prom which made for great walking and enjoying the easy beach access. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable and always willing to assist. I will definitely be returning for another visit in the very near future.

The hotel is dated, the double glazing is cloudy, the bathroom is tired, the breakfast reminded me of a school canteen with probably about the same noise level. If you want rough and ready; stay here. If you want three star: go elsewhere. It was great for the beach and parking was easy but this is a basic hotel. It only has slow wifi available in the lobby.

It's location was ideal for the promenade and beach, the spacious balcony room on the 10th floor giving a great view of the ocean.
Reception staff were very welcoming and amenable.
The breakfast was average, lunch and dinner did not give much choice.
No wi-fi in the room and TV had only one English language channel - CNN News.
Beds were uncomfortable with 'cot-sized' pillows!

Arrived for some beautiful January weather only to find that the pool and surrounding area was closed as the outside of the hotel was being repainted. Had I been told about this I would have booked another hotel, as the pool is a big part of my holiday. I had upgraded to all inclusive on arrival, at a good price, but would say that the food was pretty average (and certainly not kept at a healthy temperature on the serving section), and alcoholic beverages were on the weak side. I was told by one couple, who were stopping for 11 nights, that they were given free all inclusive by the manager when they complained about the pool area. I therefore went to the manager to ask for a refund of my all inclusive charge under the circumstances. He refused. So one couple get something, and nobody else did. Seems rather unfair. Rooms were fine, although the balcony door did not lock. I reported this and was told it would be sorted in 2 days, and was given the safe to use free of charge. The door was never mended, so was continually a security risk. I was told by other guests that their balcony doors didn't lock either. Could be a lovely hotel, with a good location just a row back from the beach, but needs better management.

All is not well at the Atismar Hotel!

It all looks very tired and in need of a refurbishment, they need to concentrate on cleanliness, the bed wasn’t that comfortable, the Staff were all very helpful and friendly but( like the hotel decor)the staffs uniform it’s very tired looking and scruffy.On a positive note, the hotel is well situated for getting around the Town and the breakfast was good giving the right mix of English and continental . Overall value was good .

The hotel charged me again at checkout - hated!

A very good value for money hotel.we stayed for 6 nights room was basic but comfortableand clean. We were all inclusive couldn't fault the food with plenty of choice. The all inclusive alcoholic drinks were fine but as my wife doesn't drink alcohol the soft drinks were the cheap cola, lemonade etc and were mostly flat as poured from big bottle. Staff were very friendly and location was great for the beach and a lovely walk along the promanade to vilamoura. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and checking in and out went smooth.
The hotel is outdated and the rooms are noisy and could use an upgrade. To close a door from a room from the outside, you need to use some force and it will cause additional noise for others.
Besides the lobby area there is no (free) Wi-Fi available in the hotel so that could be better as well.
I was there with a few friends for pleasure and the price/quality ratio is good.

2015 had best holiday ever, 2016 WORST holiday ever. Hotel staff were rude, rooms were not cleaned every day, towels had to ask for, and as for the food, i would not feed it to the pigs.Other guests ( package holiday makers) complained and were moved,but as we booked online we were not able to, so we came HOME a week early.I will be in touch with Expedia very soon. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL you have been warned.

On the positive side, the room was cleaned every day, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach. On the negative side, we were promised free Wifi in the dining area, but it was extremely patchy. When we spoke to a receptionist about this, he was quite abrupt and insisted it was 'impossible' that there was a problem. If you are relying on a good Wifi connection at the hotel, don't come here.

We made the choice of this hotel based on the fact it provided air-conditioned rooms.
To our major disappointment + added discomfort we were informed on arrival that the air conditioning was not functioning in the entire hotel ( although it seemed to be functioning in the hotel foyer ! )We were provided with a fan and no additional offer of compensation for what proved to be a very uncomfortable stay!!

booked at short notice for a quick break. hotel ideally placed just off the front ( 2 mins walk ) and very near to bars, snackbars and restaurants. a lovely walk either to the left,or the right and also 4 mins from the bus station or taxi rank. prices for drinks and food locally very good and also in the hotel.hotel food basic ( i was b and b ) and the lunch and dinner were both buffet style and again looked basic but varied.hotel clean and comfortable and staff very helpful with local info. all in all , if you want 4 or 5 star, this is not for you but for a vaue for money break i can really recommend the atismar.

Hotel Atismar...the worst hotel we've stayed in!

The only saving grace of our stay at Hotel Atismar ? It was only one night ! We arrived with our 10 mth old son on a late flight, so needed a cheap, convenient stopover before heading to the beautiful SW National Park. Being relatively cheap at 36 Euros (28 quid) inc breakfast, we weren't expecting the Dorchester. Having requested a non-smoking room with a cot, we entered our room stinking of smoke, with no cot. Reception said they were fully booked & no other rooms were available, nor was a spare cot ! We had no choice but to experience a bad nights sleep in 2 single beds pushed together, wafer thin mattresses on ply wood base & cheap worn lumpy pillows. Hotel staff didn't ask us how our stay was (no need, they already know the answer) and we couldn't be bothered to complain & refuse to pay. We hoped at least for an OK breakfast, a really simple thing to achieve..only the apples were edible. Coffee machine broken, fresh juice was cheap nasty concentrate, cheese & meat selection was the most horrible processed offering & cooked breakfast swimming in grease. Glancing around the dining hall was a really depressing experience. All guests sat there with glum faces, eating in near silence, most likely thinking what a terrible mistake they had made by choosing Hotel Atismar. We felt sorry for them and ourselves, however at least we were leaving. Also the clip on \"high chair\" was a health & safety hazard. Cheap hotel yes, but there is good reason for this!

Lovely big rooms

We were a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews, but we had a lovely big, clean room and a great balcony. Would definitely recommend, particularly in terms of value for money and having loads of space. Location is excellent, close to loads of traditional Portuguese restaurants, and only 2 minutes walk from the super beach. Breakfast was ok - very continental in style. Will agree with another reviewer, the coffee is appalling, but there's plenty of places to get a cheap cup of coffee along the seafront or down the side streets. Overall a good experience, and we would be happy to return.

We didn't use the hotel facilities very much. We were on a bed and breakfast basis and didn't use the pool area as there were not enough sun beds and the sun was not on parts of the pool area all the time so we ventured to the beach. Also there wasn't much night life in the hotel so we went out. Overall the hotel was OK and the room was a good size and had a good view but no balcony.

Over all the hotel pretty descent. But if you are a clean freak, stay clear of this hotel. Everywhere I looked, I seemed to find a hair of some sorts. Other than that, we had a room with 2 balconies that were quite pleasant. Also the rooms aren't too soundproof so you will hear others and other will hear you, if you talk too loud. Oh and the elevators are a tad tight, but that's minimal. The great thing is that there is free Wi-Fi access in the lobby area. Oh and one last thing. Towels are changed out 3 times a week, and bed sheets only twice, so if you are planning on a long stay, beware of that aspect. And the breakfast was not the greatest.
