The service was excellent. We were able to see the whales from our room with binoculars. My only concern was that the all inclusive did not include beverages in the room fridge. If you wanted a soda you had to go to the bar.

Room outdated, bathroom shower/tub had mold and leaked, tv was small with poor reception. Views were great, staff mostly nice, and food was OK. Some hotel restaurants were closed at height of busy season. Lots of smokers in outdoor areas. Overall, the property is in a great location and could be nice, but it’s a little rough around the edges.

Clean, overlooking a beautiful beach. The staff was excellent. Did not give it a higher rating because at times there was nothing to eat. For an all inclusive, this is not the standard. However the food options were good when the buffet was open.

The staff was amazing! There were issues with our flight, so we have been stranded at the airport and everything was closed… not only did they offer room service so that we could get something to eat, they walked us to our rooms and showed us all of the amenities within them. I can honestly say that the level of service surpassed anything I’ve ever experienced.

Lacknof empathy of hotel management. Due to Melissa Tropical Storm I was forced to abandon the Dominican Republic (ordered so by my employer) and had to cancel my stay at the hotel. After communicating this to the hotel by me and also Expedia (prior to the check-in date), refund was denied. In view of this I will not ever again book at this Hotel.

El lugar es hermoso y el personal es muy atento y amable, pero si hay cosas que mejorar:

Baños: el agua en la ducha cuando se colocaba fría salía bien, pero cuando se colocaba caliente salía sucia y que habían algunos cabellos dentro del baño.

Comida: podría ser un poco más variada.

Organización: no sabíamos a qué lugar eran que estaban los buffet, porque donde se suponía que iba a estar no estaban y lo movían para donde eran restaurantes a la carta.

Our overall stay was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We arrived at approximately 2pm but our room was not ready, so we were checked in, our luggage held, and were told we could go to the buffet (all-inclusive) and use the resort.

Room was big, clean, and had an incredible view!

The beaches were gorgeous & staff cleaned area daily, including any Sargassum.

The buffet was open 6:30a-10;30a, noon-6pm and 7:30p-10p. The buffet food was average, but the restaurant style menus were incredible. They scheduled us for one as we arrived and we scheduled another to celebrate an special occasion.

The food service & bar staff were very professional and did their jobs well!

This place has an incredible security staff. We definitely felt safe.

Only complaints:

The room's ceiling fan was slow & our request to have diet soda in mini fridge was a toss.

Smoking is allowed in most areas which sometimes made it difficult to enjoy room balconies, pool area and - on occasion - restaurants.

On 2 occasions we noticed VERY young teens (13-15 yo). It only became bothersome (for adult-only hotel) when hearing 'Mom\" across the pool as well as having an ear piercing scream when jumping into waves at the beach.

VIP services allow 20% off at spa, but not on all services. My pedicure was not included.

In my opinion, there is a great staff whish is good for all customers, they makes me feel welcomed during. Y stances. In addition, my mother and I, will recommend for others, especially my family, because, one of the benefitsis the Spa, this was a greater of all things that we enjoyed, so thanks again. Afterwards, we went to relax and we received the best assistants.
As sum up, in this hotel every customers will be in the best hands. If someone need a good vacations should be going there. The staffs focused on good attendance and customers satisfaction.

This property is very nice,, the small refrigerator doesn’t get cold at all,, and ice is very scarce there. I called Room service twice in two nights asked for ice to have for my warm drink, water, or soda and they said that the bar didn’t have ice.. I really wanted a cold drink with my dinner those night,. The facility is a very nice place, but just need to upgrade on those few situations.

This hotel is for relaxing. They have daily lounge hours when they bring in a singer at night (around 8-10pm). The pool closes at 7pm but we had plenty of pool/beach during the day. If you have food allergies, they are amazing!! Ariel and Letizia were super helpful on this. I didnt eat from buffets due to cross contamination. The first day they asked me for preferences. I could order for lunch during breakfast and for dinner during lunch. They made a special recipe for me GF and DF for banana bread. I felt very safe and had no issues.

The hotel is nicely located and service staff was fantastic. Loved the pool and the beach. However, the limited food availability and sometimes quality was not great as well as locations for food, having my 82 year old mother coming down every day to olas was a challenge as there was no elevator available to take her down there.

I got this as a all inclusive package and when we got there we were informed that we only have breakfast included for 8 days. We had to pay 77 dollars a day in order to be all inclusive and even paying we can only have certain food and drinks. This was horrible, no at all a 5 star hotel or an 9.0 excellent luxury nothing. Bathroom disgusting, bed hard as a wood, food infected with flys and empty trays all the time. The bar at the beach has been closed for months, the little stage by the pool where the suppose to perform activities and shows has also been closed for months. If you go to a la carte restaurant they do not have anything you ask for, but they do have a steak for 35 dollars or a Salmon for 19 dollars. The bar lady told us that she can't do piña colada because there was not piña colada mix, no Lemos or limes. The worst place ever

Overall reviews would be back, the views are pretty amazing, the private beach is great, the food was mid, they seem to have many restaurants because you can see the signs and entrances, but most were closed. 2 were open and they only served at certain times which can be inconvenient, but for me was not that big of a deal. Room was really clean, and had everything you needed, but they never stocked my fridge. Very limited room service menu. Pool was super clean so was the beach.

Small hotel, right on the street so street noice is loud, they are under construction with very loud noice, food was very limited when we got there because the main dinning area was also close under construction, our room had musty smell, everything is old and it needs updating. We were there only for 20 minutes because we checked out and now they refuse to refund our money. I will have to dispute the charges with our credit card company if they continue to refund the charges, Expedia try to get the money back without any luck but I feel they don’t do enough.

The surroundings were quaint, and the property, the staff, the food, and the beach were all incredible. Es pasado la peor noche dd mi vida , me duele todo el cuerpo de la cama , la cama mas incomoda y dura del mundo la tiene éste hotel , no sirven , deben de cambiar los cochones , son perdonas que se hospedan ahí no animales para poner unos cochones en esa condiciones, y calidad ,gracias a Dios que solo ando de pasada en éste hotel , quisimos amandecer aqui para seguier nuestro recorrido hacia la romana , lastimas que fue nuestra 3 vez y la última, anteriormente era recomendable por su vista y el mismo trato de los empleados, que siguen siendo amable pero con los brazos atados ya que no pueden ofrecer nada mas de lo que tienen , comida muy mala, camas para votar , playas abandonadas, bebidas terribles, mala calidad . . Y por último mantienne el mismo precio de las anteriores veces sin la misma calidad .. precios muy alto para lo que estan ofreciendo..

I like the cleanliness of the property but most of all the staffs in all areas from reception to lifeguards. Everyone go out of their way to provide good services. Special mention to Berma from recepción and Nurkey from the Spa. The buffet could add more variety menus for improvement. The Olas restaurant menu was vey good. Good job everyone.

The room could’ve been cleaner. There were strands of hair on the floor that I know did not belong to me. The bathtub looked like it had bright pink mold on one spot. I was brought nachos with queso and meat and it wasn’t even hot, just kinda warm.

At check-in i wasn't informed about having to make a reservation at the only operating restaurant (Las Olas) besides the sub par buffet. I asked 8 times at different times for availability at the restaurant and was told they were full. I passed by the restaurant 3 times and it was half empty. I went in 30 minute intervals, since I was told that people were leaving while others were coming in every 30 minutes. That never happened, and yet my wife and I were never accomodated. Then I find out that it's only open 1 day. Don Pablo and the Italian restaurant were both closed. No snacks at the bar. While you drink, you munch on salty crackers, pretzels and peanuts. All inclusive but Corona beer must be purchased separately. Pillows were kid size and the foam was almost non existing. The music from the main lobby was horrible and loud. Since Dom Pablo and the Italian restaurant are closed, why not use those closed areas to contain the noise? No consideration at all. When I needed my car to go away for the day, i was told that the guy who gets the cars comes later on. I had to go get the car myself. Who am I? I worked 30 years in the Hospitality industry in NYC and Pennsylvania. I was Director of Housekeeping, Director of Front Office, Director of Operations, and lastly a member of Task Force Division. My wife and I are so saddened by our experience in your facility. We haven't visited Samana in 30 years, and we expected to be WOW'd since so much has improved over time. Not so.

The service and personnel were excepcional, but the place is loosing quality for a 5-star hotel. For example, the bathroom we stayed in did not reflect the standard (was repaired with very bad finishing), the TV is old with not-so-good image quality, and both the \"a la carte\" restaurants were closed during our stay.

Soon it could loose the 5-Star rating hotel if changes are not made.

We recently stayed at this hotel and were impressed by the beautiful property. The grounds were well-maintained, and the beachfront location made for a relaxing getaway. My wife and I especially enjoyed spending time on the beach and appreciating the scenic surroundings. The food at the hotel was okay, but we found better dining options in the nearby town. Despite that, our overall experience was very enjoyable, and we would consider returning in the future.

This was a classy, quiet resort, with most guests over age 50, Canadian and European. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Very picturesque pool area and private exclusive beach. Plenty of chase lounges to go around. The nightly entertainment area was in the corner of the lobby next to the bar that consisted of local singers with music for dancing salsa and bachata. There is a quiet are behind the bar that is a balcony overlooking the pool with a cool ocean breeze. If you look carefully, you may even spot a whale in the distance. Our ocean view room was like a postcard. Samana is a beautiful area with plenty to do from whale watching to visiting caverns in the national park. We would go back again. Met one couple who have been going there the past 18 years!

Beautiful property, room was spacious, bed was soft, and views were amazing.
Food leaves room for improvement, basically average nothing exceptional, wished it was better considering what they charge. Pool is rather cold and hot tub is not heated at all, it's just as cold as the pool which was disappointing. Beach was incredible, over all we really enjoyed our stay. Staff is exceptional.

We had a great time at Bahia Principe Grand Samana. We liked that the resort is small and intimate, food was decent for an all-inclusive and staff was friendly. Resort is a bit old but well maintained and clean overall. On the other end, we found the beach being rather small, not enough chairs and palapas for all guests, and very close to the road causing noise. We would return and recommend to friends and family looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

I love this hotel. I intended to stay for six days, but a single overnight convinced me to book another four days. That morning, I walked up to Zeida at the desk and said, \"The sky is too pink, the sand too soft, the ocean too relaxing, the view too spectacular.\" What I didn't know then but do now is that the employees are exemplary- every single one.

By the way, the nightly cost here provides a nice hotel in Boston without the sea of people catering to your every need. Meals here are cheaper than local restaurants.

A long list of now friendly faces - I've forgotten too many names - including Braulio, Eddie, Wendy, Sonia, Vani, Saltares, and Kevin - all a tribute to the person in charge of hiring. I'll be back.

The resort is a bit outdated but clean. It has beautiful views and we enjoyed the beach. The water was warm with big waves (sometimes too dangerous to swim so the lifeguards don’t let you). Service was great, the staff were friendly and accommodating. However, we expected 4 to 5-star luxury and they didn’t have that. There are no activities. The food was hit and miss, and there are times when you can’t get anything to eat. At the a la carte restaurants only the meals with asterisks were included, for the rest you have to pay extra. The buffets weren’t great. Rooms could use some upkeep. There is no turn-down service, no robes in the room, and only 2 towels. Room service is only from 11 pm to 7 am. This is all fine, but then don’t call it a luxury resort! We booked based on the ratings which is 4.5-star. At best this is a 3-star.

Beautiful location and resort in Samana. The hotel needs some renovations, specially the bathrooms are old and outdated. The All Inclusive package needs a new name since there are items on the food and drinks list that are not included. The best part besides the views are definitely the people. The place is beautiful, and the hotel is nice.
The food was just ok; the staff needed more training, they are nice people but I think the management has some work to do.
It took me 2 days to get a coffee Latte, they have 3 to 4 coffee machines but every time I asked for a coffee, the machine was out of order!
