We stayed in a quadruple room which has two twin beds and one queen. The only thing is that the room never got below 23-24 deg C even when the unit was set lower. It would have been nice to have a microwave or a Nespresso machine. Corte Ingles supermarket is literally across the street that had a whole Nespresso store inside of it. I could have managed cups, sugar, milk and pods. The location was fabulous though to see all the tourist sights within walking distance or by metro. A taxi rank is right near by at Placa de Catalunya. Also, there's no ice machine or way to make ice, which would have been nice. Shower is fantastic.

First realize this is NOT a hotel.. it is a group of individual rooms with bathrooms on the fourth flour of an apartment building. It was very reasonably priced, was clean and has an elevator once you climb half a flight of steps. The location is great and 1 block from the bus to the Airport and walking to the rumbla and gothic section. Once you figure out how to get in, it is fine.. room is a bit small and the tile floor old but clean..let’s say vintage ..but everything else inside was modern. more like a Air bnb room.

The staff member at the desk was helpful, but they are not always at the desk. It is not quite a hotel but a good place to stay due to the location. Very central to everything and walkable around the city centre. There could have been more amenities on site but we brough extra shampoo/body wash from the local supermarket. We were locked out of our room but staff were quick to sort out another alternative room for us.

No lobby, just a dirty hallway entrance (which we could see through dirty glass), and no way to get in early to drop off bags. Is a buzzer outside, but nobody answered. Tough because my sister was ill and we didn't want to carry bags around. Tried to cancel, but they wouldn't make an exception. We wound up staying at another hotel. An expensive overnight trip!!! Note: A guy coming out of the building was less than enthusiastic about the accommodations.

Room was basic in a typical old european building. The building is NOT the pictured 4 CATS! It is NOT no smoking...but price and location ruled the day. Traveling with 2 college kids, the 4 twin beds worked great.

Too expensive for the level. This is more like a huge apartment converted into multiple rooms on one floor. Rooms are decent however, and can have an okay view. Common area is okay, the building this is in and the small elevator to get to the right floor are run down and in bad shape. The main photo here and the \"exterior\" shots are none of the hotel, so this feels a bit misleading.

After we are from the US and used to having a lot more space in privacy and it was a much older building, but a quiet little gem. Initially, we were shocked, but overall, we were so grateful for the experience. This staff was super friendly and accommodating, and the room was nice and quiet, even though it was on the main street and very easy to get to everything. This is a definite little hidden gem.

This is not a hotel because doesn't have the hotel accommodations. I don't recommend for elderly or families because it's a little bit tricky to get into your room. Also, the rooms are very small, isn't for big people, bathrooms are smalls.
The cleaning is good.

I’d like to preface this review by saying that this booking was not our first choice and we only stayed here because our original listing canceled on us same day. However, it doesn’t change the fact we had a terrible experience here. When we arrived the proprietor acted like we were doing him a favor by staying there, didn’t make eye contact while speaking with me, and was very dismissive. The room was a shambles. Dirty, paint peeling, etc. The location was good as it was a block from the metro station and a gothic quarter. Near the end of our stay here, during one the housekeeping visits, someone splashed bleach onto my daughter’s dress and ruined it. I called the manager immediately and he said he would come look at it and never did. My wife also called him on the call box and he told her the same thing. It was a €20 dress and that’s all we were asking to be reimbursed. We never saw him again and I messaged him several times and he keeps asking me for my credit number to put the money back on the card. I honestly don’t feel comfortable giving that information out to him. So if anyone reads this don’t give these people your business if you can stay anywhere else.

The property was good, check-in was a little confusing, since there was no one in the reception and it was done through a camera and the guy told us the code to our room there, and it could be heard by anyone. The receptionist was somehow a little unpolite.
The room was clean and it had AC.

I'm glad I read the reviews regarding the difficulty in finding the place as there is not a visible check-in desk from the front entrance. Yes, the elevator is small but not an issue for us. Two people at a time with luggage. If using the elevator, push the #3 button and take the elevator up. Step out of the elevator, go right and you will see the door with a sign and button on the wall. Push the button and the nice staff member will let you in.

We really enjoyed staying at Fontanella by BCN URBAN ROOMS. The staff was very friendly and our room was available upon arrival. The room was clean with very comfortable beds. We wanted to stay in a hotel that was walking distance to everything we needed and this was perfect. Lively and lovely city of Barcelona.

Cheap, amazing location, poor entrance and lift

The room itself was clean and modern. The entrance to the build wasn't easy to fine and they are on the top floor so you must use the lift. The loft was tiny, old, and didn't lol very safe. There were no pictures of the lift before booking, I think they should mention this before booking as was misleading.
The location was amazing, all in all it's not a bad place, but I personally wouldn't stay there again

La ubicacion es excelente. Super centrico y cerca de todo. Los cuartos y baños son comodos. La entrada facil. El elevador es muy pequeño pero siempre esta vacio. Para resolver temas el tiempo de respuesta es poco lenta pero al final resuelven. Lo volveria a escoger.

This is not a hotel, doesn’t have a lobby. There is no one at the reception for most of the time. Rooms are very small and they smell really bad. There are at least 10 stairs before you get to the elevator. The elevator is too small to fit even a stroller.

Great aparthotel, centeal location

We were travelling as a family of 3 (my sister and 9yr old son), as we were two women with a child and heard so much about pick pocketing in Barcelona, we didn’t want an apartment but an apart hotel so there was concierge. It was a bit tricky to find and it was the top floor of a building but there was a lift. The reception area was really clean and smelt really nice. We like the fact that everything was key codes so we didn’t have to worry about keys. In our room we had a large double bed and 2 single beds. The en suite was big and had a nice, large shower. The room was good size for 3 of us and had a safe and a fridge. We didn’t want all the frills of the hotel but this was perfect for a city break, we hardly spent much time in it as we were out early every morning and didn’t come back until late at night after dinner. The beds were comfy and the rooms were cleaned really well every day. Would definitely recommend for a city break as it’s right off the placa catalunya, the airport bus drops you off there and it’s a 5min walk to la rambles. Great transport links for the city buses, metro and tourist buses

The property needs to do a better job with signage, how to enter the building & get to their office. It was super confusing! The floor was clean & smelled lovely. The room itself is tight but clean. No one is at the front desk, you communicate through an intercom. Sometimes it takes awhile to get someone to answer & follow through with your requests. It is however located in a great area & super convenient for the airport bus shuttle.

Great location steps away from the Plaza de Catalunya. Walking distance from the main attractions. Everything you need (shopping, food, groceries, etc.) very close by. Check in was seamless, and the apartment is very clean, modern, and comfy. It’s a bit hard to see the entrance sign, and for some reason taxi drivers kept dropping us off at the end of the block, but it was not inconvenient.

This is a great property for tourists, since it is very close to Plaza Catalunya and many public transportation options. It is also very close to the bus coming from the airport, shops, and tourist attractions.
The property is located in a building that looks like a private residence. The publication should mention the need to climb about 15 steps to reach the elevator, since this is key for people coming with luggage.
Room access is keyless; the access code is programmed upon arrival. There is also keyless access to the building and the property with the code provided upon check-in.
The room was not very spacious, but it was comfortable and enough for what I needed. It had a safe and mini fridge. I wish it had had some more space to put my luggage.
The bathroom was ok, and the shower was great. Service includes soap and a shower gel/shampoo bottle, plus towels.
The staff were very friendly. The reservation includes daily cleaning service.

Extremely dissapointing hostel

Strange place. Basically an apartment building that has a hostel (not hotel) on the top floor. The space seems to be an apartment that they split into rooms with a check in desk in the foyer. The buidling is dirty, inside has graffiti on it and trash on the ground. The elevator is clunky. Rooms also very small. Only plus is location is excellent. Do not stay here unless you are very desperate.

This is a small boutique hotel in an otherwise occupant apartment building. Very clear instructions on how to get in. Four flights of stairs, but also a small service elevator possible to get your luggage up. Once inside the boutique space, bright, friendly, clean and modern. And the staff is top notch! Was great for a quick overnight stay on our way through home to Canada.

Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich super und ideal für Ausflüge. Das Zimmer war sauber und insgesamt ordentlich. Leider gab es kaum warmes Wasser zum Duschen, was den Aufenthalt etwas beeinträchtigt hat. Außerdem sind die Zimmer sehr hellhörig, sodass man Geräusche aus den Nachbarzimmern deutlich mitbekommt. Insgesamt okay, aber mit Verbesserungsbedarf.

El alojamiento era correcto pero por mis horas de llegada y salida no había personal. A las 4 am llegaron unas personas a una habitación contigua y se pusieron a cantar, gritar y dar palmas y golpes en la pared. Al no haber personal solamente puedes enfrentarte a los clientes ya que no hay nadie en el edificio. Mala experiencia.

Esperienza super! La struttura si trova in una zona molto bella cioè Plaza Catalunya dove passa l’Aerobus che porta direttamente in aeroporto in 25 minuti. Mercadona, negozi e Starbucks tutti vicinissimi( El corte Inglés si trova proprio di fronte). Facile accesso tramite codice senza chiavi, ascensore, e con un bambino piccolo mi hanno fornito la culla che è stata davvero utile! La stanza era pulitissima, abbastanza grande, bagno comodo e doccia grandissima. Il letto la cosa più bella! Grande e comodissimo. Le tovaglie venivano cambiate giornalmente e la signora delle pulizie é stata molto carina con noi.
Samy, il ragazzo della reception, è stato davvero disponibile e chiaro nel spiegarci le cose, carino e gentile. Davvero è stata un’esperienza perfetta. L’unica cosa che consiglio di migliorare è il refill di bagnoschiuma in quanto è stato fornito soltanto il primo giorno, ma comunque nel complesso è poco importante. Grazie davvero per tutto, prossima volta a Barcellona sicuramente tornerò qui e lo consiglierò alle persone che conosco!
