Was here for 5 day stay recently and the grounds are very nice. Pools are great and the beach area is very nice. This is our second stay here. Last time was with our daughters so we stayed in the family duplex which was a very good set up for 4 people. This trip was just another couple along with my wife and me. We stayed at adults only side thinking would be more laid back without as many kids running around. The food is ok. I had been to several all inclusive resorts though to be fair and you don’t go all
Inclusive if you are looking for a great culinary experience. It’s ok, we aren’t overly picky eaters so always found something. The biggest disappointment was in our rooms. We had premium level rooms but they were badly dated and not very clean at all. Bathrooms without walk in showers in an adults only resort seems odd. We are true believers that you aren’t ever in the room much when on a tropical vacation so we dealt with it. Would love to stay on adults
Only side again but not in the same room was in so may get premium level amenities at the palace so can use the adults only pool area.

We just returned from a 7 day stay at Barcelo Bavero Beach. It is a beautiful resort that has nice pools and a beautiful beach that runs the length of the property. The beach and paths are well maintained and lovely for walking between the Palace and Adults only. Water sports are easily accessible and they did an excellent job at maintaining beach! The buffets had great selection and very fresh. A la carts ok, Mexican was great ! Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we felt entertainment was weak. The venue was beautiful but under utilized. Having the shows start earlier than 10 pm we think is better planning. We loved the resort and would definitely return.

We stayed at the Barcelo bavro beach adult resort. Our room was very very much outdated. Bath room tiles were plaster terrible and it felt that we were staying in a room dated back in the 1990s. Staff were not friendly. It seems that they didn't really want to be there working. I.am a New Yorker and I tip very handsomely and it didn't make a difference with service. For some reason, they cater to the European which I witnessed they didn't tip at ALL. Food was very terrible and very cold when served.

Maria at adults only buffet was the happiest worker by far! Bartenders seemed unfriendly and crabby. Beach was beautiful! Turtles absolutely gorgeous! Pool lacked entertainment. A little music would go a long way. Having to pay for some restaurants if not premium was a disappointment at an all inclusive. Liked the little feel of adults only, just wish they had a more couple restaurant options without going to palace. The bathtub showers really need to be upgraded.

My stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach – Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort was an exceptional experience from start to finish. What stood out immediately was the genuine warmth of the staff—their smiles, friendliness, and professionalism truly made me feel welcome throughout my entire stay.

The beach is absolutely unforgettable: pristine, well-maintained, and with a strong sense of security that allows you to fully relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

One of the highlights was the incredible variety of food options. The buffet restaurants, including Caribe, La Brisa, and Santa Fe, offered an impressive selection with something for every taste, and the quality was consistently excellent.

I also appreciated how convenient everything was. With lounge bars, pool bars, theater bars, sports bars, lobby bars, and coffee spots all located throughout the resort, there was always a great place nearby to relax, grab a drink, or socialize.

Overall, this resort delivers a well-rounded, enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend. It’s truly a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable adults-only getaway.

The overall large grounds were well maintained-pools and beaches were amazing. However, there appeared to be a major plumbing issue with water sometimes not working & other times drainage/flushing not working properly. I traveled with a group of people with 4 different rooms in various buildings-all experiences these issues. Also no swim up pool bar or snacks served at adult only beach side. Food was mediocre at best
—even at reservation required restaurants.

Only thing was the signage or lack of. Just could have been better. Also we thought there might be some available information about activities outside the resort in the lobby.
Check in and out was a breeze. Service outstanding. Food was excellent.
Chez gourmet was a bit underwhelming especially with the enforced dress code. The other restaurants were all exceeding our expectations. The beach was amazing and it shows the effort and pride the staff puts into it.
The property in general was spotless with crews always working to keep it up. Been to other resorts seeing peeling paint and rust. Not here.
Food choices were unbelievable as was the quality.

Overall, our stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach was disappointing given the price we paid. While some staff members were friendly and helpful, the rude interactions we experienced unfortunately overshadowed the positives and impacted our overall impression of the resort.

Dining was inconsistent. At the Kyoto restaurant, we encountered a long wait and an unfriendly hostess. The restaurant also did not enforce its own dress code, allowing guests in swim shorts, flip flops, and inappropriate t-shirts, which took away from the experience. It felt like standards were inconsistent and possibly influenced by tipping. Additionally, smoking was permitted throughout the property, including inside restaurants, which was very unpleasant—cigarette and cigar smoke were frequently noticeable.

The beach itself was beautiful, and we appreciated that staff worked continuously to clear the sargassum seaweed. However, the pools were always crowded, and it was frustrating to see chairs reserved early in the morning but left unused for hours, with no intervention from staff.

In the end, for the cost of this resort, we expected a higher level of service and consistency. Unfortunately, we would not return, as there are other resorts and destinations that offer better value and a stronger focus on guest experience.

The resort is a bit older, but very clean. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The buffet food was super fresh every breakfast and lunch. We ate at one of the restaurants every dinner and it was good. We did get a couples massage and it was wonderful and professional. We would definitely stay here again.

Most of the staff was rude. We didnt get our bags until 1am and we had to go find them. The shower had boiling hot water or none. The area around the building smelled like sewage. The food was subpar even in the restaurants requiring reservations. The sheets/bedding and towels had stains on them. Housekeeping went thru my luggage.
The beach was great, plenty of chairs.

Great beach. Oceanfront room excellent. Staff very good, many speak English and if you can speak just a bit of Spanish, no problems.
Food: breakfast and lunch buffets very good. La Brisa restaurant excellent. A la carte restaurants at the Palace only so-so ....... assembly line cooking.
Noisy: It's a huge property and attracts large groups which can be noisy - especially at the pool. The Palace seemed almost frenetic at times, families with children and US young adults on Spring Break. Also, there are \"party boats\" which cruise out at sea - constant very loud music.
Plenty of beach chairs but not enough at the Pool.

Good experience, food was good, amenities and events were good, lots of entertainment, friendly staff.
Room could benefit from some sound proofing. Overall maintenance is good but not great. Last two days there was no hot water; although not necessarily needed. Air conditioning is strong but noisy.
In general terms, our experience was really good. I would recommend the hotel but do not expect a 5 stars experience.

The hotel itself looked nice. We wanted the swim up pool so we stayed on that side but we had to go each day, several times a day, to the Palace side for entertainment, better food and better treatment from the staff.

The staff on the Adults Only side acted \"uninterested\" and inattentive towards us but also many guests around us.It is like if they were \"tired\" of people.

The food was okay. And we were very disappointed in the selections of drinks. All mixers (juices, seltzer, tonic) were processed and tasted like medicine. They also only serve one rum, Barcelo, which we understand but it is not a great rum and it limits many of your drinks.

Room wasn’t very clean and it was outdated. Food at the buffets was okay. The beach was beautiful, but had a lot of seaweed. There was staff out trying to clean it up, but it just must be that time of year for it. The ocean was amazing, the nightly shows were not great, karaoke was fun and the house band was really good.
I found that a lot of the staff didn’t speak much English which made things more difficult.

View from the room was fabulous but the part we stayed in was older and very worn but everything worked. We got woken up several times a night due to noisy neighbors partying till 2 - 3 - 4 am. It was not the restful break we were looking for but the food was excellent and so too the staff.

Cons: Property needs some remodeling. It is old compared to other resorts. Guests ran into inconveniences such as some elevators were not working, the coffee makers on the buffer was out of service. The food was just ok. Compared to other all inclusive resorts it lack better quality choices for paying premium . Waitresses took a very long time to get anything to you. One night we waited for over two hours to get our dinner once it was out , the order was missing food. At the pool area, you had to go to the bar if you need it a drink. Not very prompt or cheerful. They seemed overworked and not very happy.

Pros: Beautiful Clean Beach, multiple amenities for the entire family to have fun, own mall in the hotel, outdoor market next door. Convenient location. Relatively close to airport. Some staff members such as receptionist, cleaning crew, and chefs were helpful and seemed happy

If I ever decided to go back to Punta Cana, I will probably choose another hotel.

We stayed at the Barcelo Beach adult only. We did the premium package. The VIP desk and lounge is a joke. They were not very helpful. No premium liquer or drinks at all. Not like other Barcelo's. The room location was great. We were on the third floor but there are two elevators and they were fast. The room itself was very outdated. We were at 1079 and it was on the end and very quite. There is a bath tub which is high and hard to get in and out. Plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable. The fridge had 3 mini beers and was Presidente and no light beer option. The air-conditioning was great. The bell boys were great! Very helpful. To get to the Palace resort, other restaurants, spa etc. you had to get a ride in what looked like a \"train\". Sometimes had to wait a long time. The lobby bar was the best! Shot out to Yovelin Montero, great bartender and spoke english! The beach was amazing! The sand was soft and not hot. The beach/pool chair situation was pretty good. The pool was smaller and no swim up bar. The only time we ate at the buffets restaurants was for breakfast and it was good. Definatley need more than one toaster for bread. Ate at the specialty restaurants the other days for lunch and dinner. Was able to prebook online before we got there being a premium guest which was nice. The Steak House, Mexico Lindo, Chez Gourmet and El Coral were terrible! Hoya 19 and Koyoto were okay. The La Brisa was the best for lunch and dinner!The Spa was nice but no auromatherapy.

Lights went out in the room for over 2 minutes while in the shower. The safe did not work, the sliding patio door lock was broken and the jaccuzi tub did not work. Following day we had no water in the room and the TV didn't work.

The staff, beach, and pool were absolutely amazing. The rooms are very dated which makes them feel dirty even though they were very clean. The food is.. not great. I think it would have been better if it were hot and not stale. Every piece of bread I had was hard as a rock and all the dishes were barely warm.

The resort was beautiful. The food was mediocre, my husband got sick and we lost a day and a half due to food poisoning. Hot food isn't always hot and cold food isn't always cold.. I frequently didn't eat what was on my plate due to this. The staff was nice and mostly helpful.. frequently forgot drink orders at the restaurants.

Room was dated but not in bad shape. Staff was very friendly but there was a language barrier. If you tried to speak Spanish they were very appreciative of that. If you don’t put the sign on the door they just walk in about 9 am. There was little communication between the staff. My now fiancé planned a romantic dinner on the beach to propose to me and was told that morning that it was cancelled due to the wind being so strong so he had booked another dinner reservation. Then we get a phone call right before leaving for the dinner reservation that we were late for the romantic dinner and that they were waiting for us down on the beach. We left right away and headed to the beach. Found the tent set up in the dark and no one around. Had to search the beach to find out they moved it up to the pool bar (which was closed by that time). Was very stressful and unorganized. Kind of ruined the whole ambiance but we made the best of it. Would highly recommend learning Spanish before you go here.

We stayed a whole week in the resort. The experience is beyond my expectations. The resort is huge with full facilities. It has almost everything you need. The beach is nice, spa and gym facilities are big with full amenities. I saw water park, tennis, pickleball courts, bowling and soccer field. We played 3 rounds golfing. The golf course is beautiful and well maintained with good services. However, It is very busy. Suggest to book tee time in advance. The food is reasonably good with many options. We stayed in adult only area. The hotel room is spacious. Booked my package from Expedia. The package price is amazingly good. I have visited more than 10 Caribbean islands. This resort definitely ranks on top 3 based on the facilities, services and price.

Overall we had a good time staying in Adults only part of the resort. But a few things make us wonder if we'd come back again.
Beach is perfect.
Food and drinks good
Service is bad.
Room was terrible.
Beach; best beach with the white sand, clean, plenty lounge chairs under the palm shed. But they let locals use the beach in front of the resort. It would be OK for few people lay down on the send, but on weekend it become so crowded, I counted 104 people just turning my head around, including dozen of kids on adults only area, so it become impossible to stay on the beach. There are no signs to show that is a resort area, especially adults only area. I think a clear sign will help to maintain this issue.
Food was good quality and lots of option. Dinner at the restaurants requires reservation which going thru the customer service. Bar was surprisingly good this time. Bartenders were friendly, paid attention and made good drinks.
Room is outdated, in terrible condition; bathtub is leaking, water dripping from the ceiling, smells like pee, coffeemaker doesn't work. But A/C was good.
Service is terrible as well. No app, no online, everything is going through the phone with a zero result for calling more then dozen times for several days. Only way to fix the issue you have to go to the lobby customer service in person, stay in line, left a tip and then things started changing. For example. After got wet in the storm we found no towels in our room, it took 3 hours to get them.

Pro’s: Large and clean beach and pool, room accessibility on wrist, clean facilities, friendly staff.

Con’s: Rooms dated (we had a swim out), No swim up or beach bar and poolside service was slow with only 1 person at times, Italian restaurant was terrible.

Everything was great, staff was very friendly, great customer service, the hotel is always clean, they were always making sure that everything was okay, also the staff celebrated my birthday , but the only thing we weren't happy was that they didn't have our room ready , so they moved us to a different room and location.We were disappointed because the room had two bed instead of just one.

Beautiful resort. Could use a little TLC around the resort. Good food, most of the staff was friendly and kind. The one member of the staff, Elisabeth, was the waitress in the bar lobby she was amazing. Such a joy to see her each day!!

Rooms were very clean, but bathrooms need a little updating. Elizabeth Rodrigus was exceptional. Very personable Also the short gal that was at the smoothy bar, she brightened our mornings with a smile and dance!
