Had trouble findings the office, but once I spoke with Brian (front desk) he was very helpful in helping me get into my room. The room was very clean and staff was helpful also.

Location is good, the property is accessible to restaurants and public transports. Staff upon check- in was nice. Room was clean but there was no shampoo, conditioner and soap provided which was really disappointing! We booked for a double occupancy room for couple and we preferred a double or queen bed. They provided 2 twin beds that are beside each other. Beds were very uncomfortable and there were no comforters provided. Which is another let down.

Dislike: Very inconvenient check in process, the area of the actual place you stay at is a 10 minute walk from the check in. I did the check in online but they still wanted to the documentation there as well. The thick sheets were dirty and there was no windows in the room. Also, there was no shampoo/conditioner and the body wash given was in very small packets when our stay was three nights. Be warned, there is no staff on site.

Like: Area of the hotel was good and not noisy. Aside from the sheets, the room itself was clean. Also, close walking distance to all the touristy stuff too.

This is a hostel. Not a hotel. Not what I believed I booked based on what I read. The blankets had stains, blood included and was disgusting. I’m glad I only paid for two nights. Only thing good was I liked the location.

Es un buen lugar y bien ubicado para turismo y para compras pues muy cerca hay almacenes de outlet. Esta limpio y tranquilo.

La experiencia de Check in podría mejorar. Me explico: Llegamos tarde y pudimos hacer un check in preliminar vía web, eso estuvo muy bien. Al siguiente día nos tocó ir a un lugar como a 400 metros a hacer el Check in y pagar un seguro. Ya en el edificio del Check in fue difícil encontrar el piso pues en España, o al menos en Barcelona, un piso 5 es un piso 2(todavía no lo entiendo). Estábamos dos parejas perdidas buscando y timbrando en todas las puertas. Perdimos al menos 35 minutos entre ir, buscar en el edificio y pagar. Sería bueno manejar todo en el mismo lugar o al menos escribir la metodología para numerar pisos en el país o poner algún aviso.

They sent us the wrong code and we could not get into the property. We arrived at 2am due to a delayed flight and we were forced to look for another hotel to stay that night since the code Expedia and the hotel sent us did not work.

Hotel staff admitted the next morning that the code we got no longer worked.

This is unaxeptable! 3 women in the middle of the night trying to find a place to stay and everything was sold out!

Was terribly disappointed because this was listed as a 3.5 star hotel. I even asked if this was a hotel or hostel and the guy said hotel. This is clearly a hostel as it even says \"hostel\" on door. As a hostel goes, it wasn't bad but it was priced like a hotel, and the strong solvent smell made my daughter throw up. In the end, we had to book a different hotel and eat the cost. I fully believe this was done on purpose by the property- i got no refund and do not appreciate being taken advantage of.

Quick weekend in Barcelona

Quick family trip. Location was very convenient to walk to some major Barcelona sites. Only part I didn't like was the reception desk was not collocated with the actual rooms to stay. It was about 8 minutes away...not the worst, but a little inconvenient (plus the tiny elevator up to the higher floors, but that's common in these buildings). We would stay here again.

Positives: Location, price, high ceilings
Negatives: Checkin/out in a separate building two blocks away from the property, terrible beds (we could feel the springs), paper thin walls (no acoustic insulation whatsoever), mold on shower edges and on curtain, dirty walls, half open stuck window shutters and lack of blackout blinds, noisy fridge, no fire exit. I appreciate it is cheap but there needs to be a minimum standard.

Check your e-mail box before you go!

Getting there and finding the place to check-in was not what we had expected. We could easily find it on sat-nav but when we got there we were stood on the street for few minutes because nobody was answering the intercom. We tried ringing the phone number on the entrance door - no answer, then we tried the number from hotels.com - no answer, luckily one of the residents came out so we could enter the building. We got to the first floor and after knocking on the door the cleaning lady opened. We asked about check-in but she didn't speak english, she gave us a business card from Fontanella hotel and told us to go there. We called the number from the card and finally somebody answered. So we headed back to via Laietana and checked in (that went smooth - apparently the hotel sent an e-mail with check in instructions a week before - we missed it).
Walking there and back with the luggage and after a long journey is the last thing you want when you arrive at the hotel.

Secondly, we weren't expecting a very high standard as this is only a 3* hotel (we usually choose 3* hotels) but having visited over 20 countries in the past few years this hotel would be at the bottom of the list in any category (we only had a smaller room in Oslo). The window and the layout resembled a prison. No fresh air as you could only smell fried food after opening the window. The shower kit had to be held in hand and the shower curtain was covered in mold.

Big plus for location and that's it.

We had trouble checking in. Be sure to call and let them know when you will arrive. Where you check in, is not where your room is. We showed up and could not find anyone. We called and emailed with no response. 30 min later we got a call and someone came to the location to meet us. The gentleman was very nice. He gave us the keys and then we walked about 10 mins to where our room was. The room was very nice. We were pleasantly surprised. I would definitely stay here again. Aside from checking in, this place was great.

Terrible, thin spring mattresses. Walls were dirty. Room window opened up to the buildings inner court, which had no pleasant views and smelled of restaurant greases. Shower was cramped and poorly designed, which allowed for water to easily flood the bathroom floors.

Staff were friendly, rooms were nice and clean. It’s in a great area. Had towels, fridge, small freezer and communal microwave but could’ve done with more amenities including ironing board for the iron. Only problem was that there was no noise allowed after 10pm because of neighbors but we’d get woken up at 8am every morning by building work upstairs. Would stay here again for price and location

Great location, friendly staff, easy checking-in/out, daily housekeeping, walking distance to everything, a really good bakery next door for a quick bite in the morning. The room was nice, comfortable beds, decent bathroom. The only thing was the pillows, they weren't comfortable at all, so was hard to get a good night sleep.

Solid choice in Barcelona

Casp-er is a very good pension-style hotel in Barcelona, located in a residential, quiet street (in a gorgeous area; very close to all public transportation, markets, and places to eat and drink; walkable to major attractions). Not conspicuous, it is a bit hard to find, so use Google Maps or similar.

Check-in was a breeze; attendant was courteous and welcoming, and offered help and advice. Common areas are very small and sparse (as pensions usually are) but well decorated and clean.

The room and bathroom were very small, but adequate and clean for a couple. WiFi worked perfectly. There were two exterior windows in our room. Travel light - no closet, and the only space for our carry-on luggage was the desk. On the good side, they have a strict rule that no noise can be made by guests after 10pm, which was great (my wife is a light sleeper), and there was absolutely no exterior noise in our room. On the bad side, the structure itself was somewhat noisy throughout the night (e.g. there were a series of pumps(?) that went on at various times - not good for my wife), but it should not be a problem for deep sleepers or party-ers.

Check-out was very easy as well (they even printed boarding passes for us).

We spent three nights here and were pleased by the service and facilities. Recommended!

We were transferred to another hiotel for the first 2 nights as our room had been flooded. This was good, but meant we lost time in what was a short stay, which was unfortunate.
The last night we did stay, but the bathroom flooded and we were unable to wash properly. Not a happy night!
Good location and pleasant staff, but it did not make for a good holiday experience.

Great location, close to every attraction with walking distance. Room was cleaned every day. Reception staffwas helpful with information There was no window outside and had very basic amenities. Fridge was leaking, mo widows to outside, no mirrors or wardrobe in-the room,. There was construction work every day with noise.

THIS IS NOT A HOTEL! BE WARNED!!

I was fully aware that the check in desk was in a different location but it was still listed as a hotel. The first problem is that this is NOT a hotel by any standards. It’s a hostel at best. We went to get the keys and had to check in at HOSTAL Fontanella to get our keys - so the reception isn’t even a hotel reception, it’s at a hostel. That was the first deception we experienced. NO mention of there being construction and renovations going on which were nearly constant during our stay directly above our room. Constant sounds and lots of plumbing work being done. We would’ve never booked this if we knew there were renovations going on since we are light sleepers and are traveling with a baby. Thirdly our toilet had an issue with flushing the whole time, the second day a maintenance man man came to “fix” it and we were never notified this work was being done in our room, we just came back to get stuff and he was in our room. The toilet was never fixed and we had to take the tank top off every time to flush it. Next, the room was for 3 people but there was barely enough hot water for ONE person to shower. We had to wait over an hour for hot water to return. Also, there was a DOORBELL to the main entrance that people rang incessantly throughout the stay at all times of day and night. Have you ever heard of HOTEL with a doorbell? Common area stinks of fish from microwave and air fresheners. Management refuse to take responsibility for horrible experience. Beds are comfortable

Ottimo soluzione se si cerca un posto dove dormire per visitare Barcellona
Struttura centrale (metro Urquinaona), all',interno di uno storico palazzo del Centro.
Non dipone di colazione ma subito sotto c'è un forno e a breve distanza tantissimi bar/ristoranti.
Il Check in è stato fatto in una struttura gemella a breve distanza, comunicata la cosa in anticipo.
La camera è piccola ed essenziale, ma con un buon rapporto qualità prezzo.
Non ha finestra su esterno, ma solo su un angusto spazio interno.
Bagno ok e pulito.

The problem with this hotel is that the front desk is located in an other location 10 minutes away from it and the reception is open just until 4 PM. There's a number you can call for assistance (\"atencion al cliente\"). I called at 4:10PM because the safe in the room wasn't working; the person who answered was not very professional, he answered me that no one can take care of the guests after 4 PM and that nothing would happened, I could leave my stuff out of the safe..... I asked to resolve the problem but no one did it, not even the next day during the working hour. I wonder what can happen in case of a more serious emergency... there's no \"atencion al cliente\"

Muy cerca de Plaza Caraluña, muy buena ubicación y con muchos sitios cerca para comer y varios supermercados. El único problema que he tenido es que por la noche se escuchaban algunas personas en la calle y que es un poco incómodo desplazarse (aunque está cerca) a otra ubicación a por la llave de la habitación. La habitación y el baño bonitos y limpios. Lo recomiendo para pasar unos días en el centro de Barcelona.
