We stayed at the Cotton House Hotel for one week while visiting our son in Barcelona and couldn’t have been happier with the service and the property. From the moment we got there we felt welcomed and everyone from the doormen, reception staff, room cleaning staff, concierge team, and expert bar staff provided us with the highest level of service (especially our new friend, Alejandro). The property was very clean and well maintained. We highly recommend the Cotton House hotel to anyone traveling to Barcelona. 5 stars*****

Our stay at the Cotton House was exceptional. From the moment you step inside, the architecture tells a story—an elegant blend of historic grandeur and contemporary design that feels refined and inviting. The building’s origins are beautifully honored, with sweeping staircases and soaring ceilings. These preserved details make every corner feel special. The hotel’s festive holiday displays and soundtracks brought a sense of warmth and joy, creating an atmosphere that felt celebratory without being overdone. That festive spirit came alive on NYE at Batuer, the hotel’s restaurant. Alongside a carefully planned chef’s menu, multiple live performances kept the evening energized. Guests were also invited to take part in the beloved Spanish tradition of eating the 12 grapes at midnight; sharing that moment together—surrounded by music, laughter, and celebration—made the night feel both culturally authentic and wonderfully communal. What truly sets the Cotton House apart, though, is the people. Every team member was friendly, fun, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our stay memorable. It’s rare to find a hotel where service feels this joyful. In every sense, the Cotton House delivered an unforgettable experience. It’s a hotel with style and heart—and a place we loved staying at and can’t wait to return to.

The hotel design is charming and it is a great location. The hotel operation leaves a lot to be desired. First, the technology at check in wasn’t working so it delayed unnecessarily. Second, they placed a hold of €200 PER DAY on my card for incidentals. Third the combined wet room while seemingly a good idea was a slipping hazard. Fourth the key app on the phone worked fine on the doors but never at in the elevators to allow access. Finally given that everything is late in Barcelona, if you are going to lock the front door you need to be more responsive when guests return—no buzzer and we had to wait awhile to be let in.

Best 5 star hotel in Barcelona

The Cotton House was the perfect stay for our first time in Barcelona. We fell in love with the neighborhood around Cotton House as well as the staff there, shout out to Fatima and Federico! The room was beautiful with gorgeous views of the city and they made sure that my family was comfortable and attended to at every turn. Every time we visit Barcelona, we will be staying at the Cotton House.

Not sure what might have happened in one years time but house keeping is certainly an issue. Staff at times seemed indifferent and last but not least the room we had is in need of new furniture. Tables, desk severely scratched, sofa bed needs to be replaced.

But, for me the best was who ever the genius was that a good idea to put the bathroom door right in front of the toilet and lets not forget the door stop in front of the toilet so for those os us that need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night good luck with your toes🙈

I loved the cotton house hotel, I recommend it and would stay there again. The staff were very friendly and the concierge was fantastic. The terrace / bar / restaurant area were all amazing. The room has everything you need, I think maybe the only thing is that the place needs a bit of an update, and in my opinion the lobby area could be a bit bigger. But again, it was a great stay and loved all the history and themes of the design!

Quiet oasis in a bustling city

Terrific hotel in a great location. Superb boutique with charm and style in the best part of Barcelona. Rooms are not huge but very well designed and maintained. Mine was on a high floor with very little noise despite leaving windows open day and night. Classy common spaces with a library, bar and restaurant including a secluded outdoor courtyard. Small pool on the roof, as well. Could not recommend more highly and would stay again on a return to BCN.

Stayed here before. Its part of Marriot Bonvoy so we used points to get the beautiful buffet breakfast. Though it is VERY hard to get HOT coffee...always luke warm. The breakfast is awesome though.

Room was typical size for European Hotel rooms, but huge bathroom and king size bed, with fantastic sheet/duvet, it will be our go to hotel when visiting Barcelona. Beautiful hotel in a great location for adventure

It's a beautiful hotel in a great location that is easily accessible to main attractions either by walking or the train. Our room was very nice and spacious. The hotel bar was also so beautiful. Highly recommend for a stay in Barcelona.

Also the concierge was incredibly helpful in making dinner reservations in advance of our stay.

A Barcelona Gem

Fabulous hotel in a very convenient location. Beautifully decorated lobby area. Rooms are quiet and beds are very comfortable. Lovely outside area for dining and drinks . The bath/shower is a wet room. Care is needed there as the floor area can be slippery.

Quirky luxury in the centre of Barcelona

The Cotton House is a unique experience. Lovely decor, great central location and a lovely bar. Staff were friendly in a quirky informal kind of way but very helpful. Rooms are stylish but small. Great balconies and view over the city. Definitely worth a stay.

We were greeted with champagne upon our arrival. The staff, especially Alex, were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. Very tastefully decorated and beautiful. Rooftop pool has great views of the city. Room was very pretty. Waterfall shower a nice touch. I’ve never had such excellent housekeeping service! We loved our stay here and would come back again!

Nice hotel but rooms are small

I was disappointed with the size of the room and in particular the lack of wardrobe space. The clothes hanging space (which was in the bathroom!) could only hold about 5-6 items of clothing and we were in Spain for a week so we had to live out of our suitcase.

A really lovely hotel, interior decor is really beautiful and feels very luxury. Overall we had a great stay, it’s a different area of Barcelona for us so was nice to explore. Great location and in easy walking distance of plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops, sites such as L’Arc de Triomf, Ciutadella Parc, La Rambla. The service was generally ok, front reception staff very polite and helpful, restaurant service was good although a little slow. The most frustrating thing for us was the pool being so small and only 5 beds, so if you want to go and stay by the pool each day this might not be the best hotel choice for you as you may struggle to get a bed. The pool area was really nice, just very small in comparison to the number of guests the hotel can accommodate. Service at the pool was hit and miss, some days good but there wasn’t even anyone up there on the Friday which seemed odd. Overall a good hotel, we had a great time, I don’t know that it’s be my first choice if we go back again.

We received the absolute best service at The Cotton House! From front door to concierge, everyone was delightful. Bed was very comfortable, location ideal, backside of hotel was really quiet. Note: Signature scent in rooms, may bother those sensitive to fragrance. If not, it will help you relax and unwind.

A wonderful Hotel stay

Truly a magnificent hotel to stay at.
The room was outstanding. We had stayed at the Alma hotel the first leg of our trip and it is a true 5 star accommodation. Cotton House is also 5 star and just a wonderful environment that was remodeled with absolute love and detail. Staff are helpful and kind.

Beautiful Hotel, Amazing Staff!

We loved our stay at the Cotton House. It is a beautiful historical building yet the guest rooms are comfortable and modern. The staff was among the friendliest and most helpful we encountered on our entire trip. The \"Egyptian\" rooms have plenty of space, our group had one on the inner courtyard and one with a city view. Both were lovely, only difference was the courtyard view has a small balcony while the city view is a bigger, brighter room but no balcony. Would be happy in either room again!

Beautiful historic building. Lots of history. Beautiful staff. But small tiny rooms. And we were in a handicap room (we’re not handicapped). So handicap shower which was weird. Also toilet. Surprised they did not upgrade us to larger room. They wanted to charge me an extra $50 for a cot for my 5 year old. I had already paid them $450 for one night to sleep in a shoe box. Not worth the money to stay here.

This was my first time staying at the Cotton House Hotel as I normally stay at the W or Le Meridien. The hotel felt like a retreat. I did not feel like I was in the centre of Barcelona. The hotels has nice bonuses such as the big terrace, Library Bar, and a rooftop pool. The staff was accommodating and friendly and made you feel like you were special to them. I would stay here again.

The Colorful contemporary room types all have a soft coffee-color scheme with hardwood floors, dark-wood walls, dove-gray bedspreads, and caramel-colored drapes and headboards with deep-red pillows and chairs. The Standard Rooms are narrow and have two twin beds pushed together, wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, writing desks, funky pendant lamps, minibars, and eclectic framed photos on the walls.

The Soft recessed lighting can make these rooms feel dark, though the spaces are brighter on sunny days thanks to sliding glass doors that lead out to small-furnished patios. The Matrimonial Standard Rooms are slightly larger and have queen-sized beds, but they lack patios.
