Clean property, staff was available 24/7. Rooms were clean and everything worked. When you travel you start to see how a lot of hotels something is broken. One of the best hotels i stated at.

Amazing property. It is over a metro line, so there is a little vibration/noise when the train runs. Only negative. Staff is excellent and property is very clean. Rooms and bed are new and clean. Good mattresses.

Great set up for the private rooms. Clean, modern, comfortable. The window overlooking the street does let in sounds when people are being loud on the street. It was fine during our stay though.

Want sheets? That’s an extra charge. A Towel, that’s extra too. Want to secure your items in the locker, use the laundry? All that’s extra. All you get is a bed and mattress for the cost.

There are 3 Toilets and sheets for men and 3 for women, so when the hostel is full you will have to wait.

Very nice stay for the money, the room got very hot but that was a minor issue, they look after your bags for the rest of the day after checking out and they allowed us to check in at 2.30 am free of charge

Hip Karma Hostel was a great place to stay! We were a group of 14 people so booked the 8 bed and 6 bed rooms (both private - only us). The bathrooms are shared with everyone in the hostel but we had no issues with this - they were kept clean and tidy, and no queues. The only issue we had was that you have to pay for bedding (not included on booking), and even though we booked the whole room, we weren’t allowed a key to the bedroom. The person at reception had to keep opening the bedroom door for us every time. Luckily there is someone on reception 24/7, but for security reasons, it was a bit uncomfortable as anyone could say they are in that room. But overall, a great stay and would come again as a big group.

Rustic and Nice.

The booking was very last minute. It’s a nice place that’s a bit rustic and bohemian but not a people factory like other hostels in the area. The staff are very nice. There’s a kitchen to cook if you wish and a great terrace in the back of the building.

* Location: Easy walk from bus drop off and the center of town and other locations. Address is odd because you need to round the corner a bit to find the entrance. Tons of markets and restaurants everywhere. Health food diagonally across street. You'll need a flashlight or phone to get through the hall after entering.
* Interior: Very modern. 24 hour staff. Computers available. Staff helpful. Cleaned every day but with so many people could use more.
* Beds: Typical bunk beds with personal light and charger and curtains. Comfy if industrial, Sheets provided. Wifi strong in bed area
* Cons: Typical hostel. People might be loud or snore. I had a good stay with caretaker asking people to quiet down and no one snoring in my 6 plex

Great location but awful bathroom

Perfect location although not easy to find as no sign on building, just number. Bed very uncomfortable, sheets rough. Curtains on the beds allow privacy but guests appeared more disrespectful and disruptive when they can’t see you’re there. The bunk rattled so much when another guest was on the bed above me. Jolted awake very time she moved. Female bathroom was awful, right next to kitchen so you have to walk past the whole hostel just to get there. Door was constantly wedged open because of lack of aircon so there was no privacy. No space to change, broken shower doors. No toilet roll for most of my stay. Overall it was very clean and the staff were nice, but zero comfort.

Meh.

First of all, I'm not the hostel-type of person - that was my first and most probably last hostel experience per se. Let me start by saying that the staff was very friendly and helpful so that's already a big positive. The rest however.. not so much. The \"hostel\" is just a flat equipped with bunk-beds distributed across 4-5 rooms. All the rooms are facing the street and consequently there's a lot of street noise coming in from cars and busses. The street on the corner is also at an intersection so it's 2x the noise. The rooms are very spartan - basically only a bunch of bunk beds against the walls. The bunk beds had curtains so that's somewhat positive, however they were fairly uncomfortable to the point that I had back pain in the morning. I didn't really feel like I can relax. If you are a hostel-type of person maybe that's a perfectly acceptable hostel, but I don't think I'd stay there (or in any hostel) again.

Nicest staff and friendly atmosphere

I stayed for 2 weeks in august.
Really friendly staff and 24-hour reseption. Cleaned often, and the bathrooms were nice :-) the Internett connection was really good. Possible to cook dinner in the kitchenette.

You have to pay for bed sheats, I wish that was included, and a lock. It's easiest to bring your own lock for the drawer.

The nicest hostel I have stayed in so far! Would recommend this room for everyone!

Great hostel for the price

This was my first hostel stay, and it was quite good. The location is superb, but relatively quiet as well. The staff is very helpful, which is nice if you don't know much about Barcelona. One of the nicest features is the curtains on the beds, which allow you not only privacy but darkness for sleeping. The beds themselves are comfy too. Wifi worked great the whole time. I would certainly recommend this place for someone looking to stay in Barcelona on a budget!

Smokey stay in standing water

Access to computers was nice. Not much a of a living room/hang out space though. Small but equipped kitchen was perfect. Also there's a grocery store on the same block. The staff was very friendly and spoke English well. Problems: though the showers were hot, there was standing water in all of them. There was also standing water in the sinks. Awoke with one huge bite after my first nights stay. The room smelled like cigarettes from people smoking out the window.

Stayed here for two nights on a solo trip to Barcelona. A bit hard to find (seems to be a consistent theme with this kind of budget place) but located in a pretty cool area that's close to tourist stuff and good restaurants. Bathroom smelled funky at times and was crowded in the mornings, but the rooms were great! Privacy curtain makes all the difference in the world. Bedding is comfortable. Would definitely go back.

Christopher is great and made my stay easy and fun. This is probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. Love the privacy curtains on the bunks and the storage drawer you can lock.

Nice hostel near Arc de Triomphe. Beds have their own curtains so you have more privacy than in a normal hostel. It was clean with 24 hour reception. The guy on the front desk recommended some nice places to eat close by. They charge extra for bedding, towels and a pad lock for the lockers.

It was a nice hostel . It was my first experience and i enjoyed my stay there . Close to the city center . The guide cor a free walking tour comes to the hostel to pick you up . And its in a safe and quite neighborhood . The only thing is that i booked there for 2 nights and had 2 different bed . And it happened to another person i met there . It's not very convenient.

Lovely, clean hostel and perfectly located

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and decently sized. The overall size of the hostel was a lot smaller than I expected, but that was one of the nicest things about it, as it made it easier to get to know some of the other people staying there. The hostel was only a short walking distance from Las Ramblas and some of the other main attractions in the city, so it is perfectly located and the surrounding neighbourhood is really beautiful and feels very safe. It would have been nice if there were more activities coordinated by the hostel as it gives those traveling alone the opportunity to meet other travelers more easily.

New Hostel in good location

The rooms and beds are nice, unfortunately there is Air Con in the whole hostel, which cannot be controlled by the guests, it was quite cold in the rooms and it was very difficult to get some blankets from the receptionist. The washing rooms are quite small with only one sink working, they would need more cleaning. I was quite dissappointed, especially with the unfriendly staff, I did not feel welcome in this hostel.

PERFECT location! Clean place and nice staff

Great place in a great location. 2/3 staff were great, handsome guys! One other guy was too serious and never smiles but the other 2 make up for it. Rooms didn't have much space but they were clean and there was a place under your bed to lock up bags. (bring your own lock or you can rent one). Small kitchen and not much space for socializing (not t.v. corner or couch) but there were 4 computers that you could use for free! The rates were good for what you get. It was pretty quiet at night. Lights out at 11pm. Super great location. Only a 5 minute walk to the beautiful gothic quarter. Would definitely recommend it!

I don't mnormally stay in hostel's but due to a lack of accomodation and absoburent rates, I decided to stay in Hip Karma. What a pleasant suprise. It is well located, neat and clean and staff is friendly and helpfull. I'm used to my privacy (which i missed dearly) but all and all, a wonderfull experience.

Good spot

Hip Karma is greatly located, a short walk to most attractions. Subway and bus systems are close.
The bed dividers are great but at the same time isolate each client. There is no lounge area but the kitchen is clean and has a TV (cable is hard to get to work and sometimes employees can't even fix it!). Computers are accessible until 11pm which is GREAT. Very quiet and a good place to catch up on sleep. Do not expect to meet new people there or a traveling buddy as the set up does not entice this.
Finally, I was VERY disappointed with the fact that on check out day you cannot use ANY of the facilities (computers and kitchen). They will store your bag but that's it. So past 11am, you are done and HAVE to eat out and use internet cafes. If I would have known this, I would have stayed elsewhere as my plane was at 10pm. I thought it was expensive but it is BARCELONA after all.
In the end, I would recommend this place for people that travel with others or that is looking for solitude.

Not crowded and the owner/manager was very friendly. Close to the Metro and within 10 minutes walking of La Ramblas.

Super cheap yet very very clean. I was impressed. Best hostel I've ever stayed at, though if you're looking to socialize not recommended, as it is quiet and peaceful.

Tivemos uma estadia excelente. Ficamos no quarto com banheiro privativo e era tudo muito confortável e de ótima qualidade. A vista do quarto era boa, as camas e as cobertas eram muito confortáveis. O hotel disponibilizou produtos de banho de ótima qualidade. A cozinha é completa e muito organizada. A recepção é 24h e os recepcionistas são muito simpáticos e prestativos. Pudemos deixar nossas malas após o check-out para passear antes do nosso voo. A localização também é excelente, perto do metrô e de um supermercado, além de vários mercadinhos e lojas. Pudemos fazer muitos dos passeios a pé.

Die Unterkunft ist super zentral und man kann einige Sehenswürdigkeiten super zu Fuß erreichen. Es war sauber und auch die geteilte Küche wurde stehst ordentlich hinterlassen.
Das Fenster war leider sehr schwer zu schließen, weswegen es Abzug bei der Unterkunft gibt, sonst hat es uns sehr gut gefallen.

Wir hatten ein Dreibettzimmer mit einer Terrasse/Zubau und waren super zufrieden, das Zimmer war nicht direkt im Hostel, wo die Schlafsäle sind, sondern neben an und dort war es sehr ruhig und wir hatten genügend Platz. Alles was man benötigt war da, aber unser Highlight war der im Zimmer gelegende Zubau mit Glasfronten zum öffnen, wo man die Abende perfekt verbringen konnte.
Öffentliche Anbindung war perfekt, wir würden immer wieder buchen.

Bonjour, attention bien qu’ayant une chambre privative, on nous on a annoncé à l’arrivée que c’était interdit aux enfants de moins de 10ans… après discussion nous avons pu prendre notre chambre mais avec menace d’être mis à la porte au moindre bris… ce qui est particulièrement ironique puisque nous avons souffert du bruit la nuit des chambres voisines. Enfin, il faut payer draps et serviettes en plus ! Bref ce n’était pas le bon plan

Read some bad reviews before the trip. But actually my experience was top-notch! We had a private room with separate private toilet. (including schampoo/conditioner and body lotion). Linen and towels were included. A beautiful private balcony! The building has lots of charme, the location is super-central and staff’s amazing. Big, modern, clean kitchen available. With storage in fridge/freezer.

Alt i alt et virkelig godt ophold til den pris. Vi havde eget værelse med eget toilet og alt var godt. Internettet drillede dog og kunne ikke trækkes ind på værelset. 20 minutters gang til centrum af Barcelona, og ellers var der en metro eller bus lige ude foran

Una notte sono stata veramente male e la signora alla reception mi ha preparato un tè caldo senza che le chiedessi nulla.

Struttura basica, ma c’è tutto quello di cui hai bisogno, ed è pulita.
