This place is conveniently located near Monivong Boulevard and Psar Thmey. It's a great value: not luxurious, but I don't feel like I'm compromising safety or comfort. Cold A/C, helpful staff, loads of hot water.

The internet access isn't great, but I have a generous data plan on my phone, so it wasn't an issue.

Pro-tip: skip the expensive hotel breakfast and walk to the corner. There's a shop within spitting distance that sells the city's best bai sach chrouk (grilled pork on rice), which matches perfectly with the sweet iced coffee. And in the evenings, they sell beef skewers and baguettes. Some of the best food in the Penh.

The room and hotel were average. The location was good. The hotel charges a $50 cash only deposit but, has no ATM on site. The hotel does not offer a laundry service. The staff was friendly. The hotel restaurant is over priced compared to local restaurants.

Overall, a great lil hotel nestled in the inner suburbs of the city - close to many tourist attractions by taxi.
A shame the rooftop bar wasn’t pumping - the nights we were there there seemed nobody came through. Nice small pool area - smaller than in the pictures, but still very good. Most staff were able to communicate in English which helped greatly. Breakfast was nice = some good options, enough to get you going for the day. A cute lil hotel worth its weight in gold.
Be ready to exercise upon arrival - a stairway to heaven awaits from the road to the reception area of the hotel - luggage can be taken up via ground floor elevator in the carpark area.

The sky bar is beautiful and offers good value on food/drinks. It’s a good place to work and is open until 11pm. It is the same atmosphere you would expect at a high end restaurant.

The laundry service offered is very convenient.

The room is very nice with a very good air conditioning system.

The gym offers dumbbells up to 10kg which are quite light, but there are cable machines which still allow you to get in a good workout.

It is also very well connected to the city with tuk tuks available to get you to the key tourist attractions quickly.

Hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

In general, the facilities are reasonable and room are clean. However, hotel not flexible for even extension of 0.5 hr on check out time and staff seem to constantly change her position. This is the only hotel that I ever encountered such strict restriction

Great value for money. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were excellent. Area was safe and quiet. Nice pool area and gym was spacious but needed some maintenance and a/C. Many steps up to hotel front door could be an issue for some people. It's walkable to the markets and royal palace but only a cheap tuktuk ride otherwise. I highly recommend this hotel. I would have no hesitation to return here.

Everything was fine. There was nothing particularly special or extraordinary about the property. I was a little upset that after a stay of 13 or 14 nights in this hotel they refused to allow my wife to check out 30 minutes late the morning following my departure. Their breakfast buffet was average and I thought it was a little overpriced. Nice restaurants in the area charge less and have a much better selection.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work during the entire stay. Bathroom flooded because shower drain didn’t work very well. They sure said that breakfast buffet started at 6:30 and when I got there at 6:30 there was virtually no food and what was there was cold. the van they arranged for me to go to see siem reap was jampacked with very disappointing seats, and barely any air conditioning at all. I canceled the return trip and took the M bus.

No safe, no WiFi, ID must be held in reception

I stay in hotel more than 6 months of the year. I’ve been to thousands of hotels. I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled due to the poor experience I had

Firstly, upon check in the hotel had faulty WiFi, no connection at all, and it would be that way for my entire 5 day stay - crucial issue for most people but luckily I had a mobile hotspot connection

The second issue is I brought a guest one of the days - the hotel make your guests deposit their ID/passport - a scan and signature from me the room holder, is not enough, they’ll force you to leave physical ID in reception until you leave - this is a ridiculous policy holding guests ID for ransom

The third issue is the safety deposit box is faulty, it has limescale within the battery unit. Which means sometimes it randomly powers off and you cannot get your belongings.

Despite leaving a cash deposit on check in, you cannot bill breakfast to your room. You have to bring physical cash every morning to have breakfast. One of the days the safe was faulty and my money and wallet was locked inside the safe. I went to breakfast and explained the issue to them and they refused to let me bill breakfast to my room or pay by Apple Pay

This hotel has bad service - all of the staff are rude, I know it’s a cheap hotel but kindness and good service costs nothing

If you need WiFi, or a safe in your room, or you don’t want to surrender your guests ID as collateral (despite then having card and prepaid deposit) then avoid

Overall we were pleased with our stay, nice rooftop pool, modern rooms, and huge bed! The gym has plenty of equipment, and the location is good. Only downside for us was that our room wasn’t cleaned properly and used tissues were left from previous occupants, we requested for these to be removed (which they were eventually), but the service was a little poor with no apology and no acknowledgment of this being a hygiene issue. Would have liked our request to have been taken more seriously, especially off the back of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Service way below standard

This was the fourth time staying here as each of the previous stays were good. However this will be the last time we stay there due to unsatisfactory service.
In particular, the nightshift male front desk cover. He was particularly rude to my partner. He asked her for ID which was unwarranted, knowing full well I did not understand what he was questioning about. He was clearly not asking other guests the same.
On a second occasion he was reluctant to say the least, to help with a problem with our keycard to the room. He claimed it was expired even though he had just watched me use it to gain lift access.
In addition many, but not all, of the staff seemed uninterested in helping out with simple requests. This was disappointing as on previous visits that was not the case.

Pool was refreshing after a day out. Hot tubs were private and good, except they close early at 8pm. Good gym, ping pong and lots of games available for families or unwinding with a drink from their pool and sky lounge. Staff was exceptional and ready to assist. It is not near a busy restaurant area, but there is a Super Market one minute away for snacks, drinks, fruit and food.

The front desk staff/ladies were excellent. The entry steps are steep, 3 metres, and dangerous. The night duty manager was very rude, when he was awake. The management lied to me about a refund they said they had paid which they did not.

Not bad for a few knots but you can do better

The HM Grand is located within walking distance of the palace, the river, and there is a supermarket a couple of hundred metres away.
The rooms are reasonable size and clean and not bad for comfort, they are tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, bathrobes, an LCD TV with a good selection of English-speaking channels, and the bathroom has a shower with a rainfall shower head and a handheld Rose with reasonable water pressure.
The breakfast I put on is served it unsafe temperatures and is Bailey lukewarm and generally you would be foolish to touch it. However they do provide eggs cooked to order so they are okay and they also provide things like fresh pineapple and watermelon.
The swimming pool area is very cramped with a small pool and it is quite pokey and uninviting.
The housekeeping is the biggest problem here as they regularly forget to replenish things which is An Occurrence everyday, I sometimes. Make up the rooms until 2 or 3 in the afternoon or not at all until you call reception and say my room hasn't been cleaned and made. There are 25 very steep steps leading up to the reception and you have to drag your luggage up those steps to get in and out. They were errors with my booking and payment details which I had to waste time chasing and sorting with them so the housekeeping and the front of the house needs a lot of attention to bring it up to standard.
It's not a bad place to stay for a few knots but there are better value-for-money better quality places about

I can strongly recommend this hotel!

Great new hotel on a strategic location. The modern room with very clean and functional bathroom was in perfect condition, and offered a nice view over the city. The breakfast provides a wide choice of Asian and European food of very good quality. The overall service provided by the staff was very perfect! The manager understands the power of a personal customer care and the power of a most beautiful smile for welcoming the guest. The motorbike that I ordered on my arrival at the hotel was delivered within 15 minutes, and well parked in a guarded garage on street level. This hotel offered me top value for money. I know where to book during my next trip to Phnem Penh.

Stayed with wife and 2 grown up children for 3 nights. It’s a nice new boutique property but having teething start up issues. I guess staff needs better training – the attitude to delight the customer was missing. The room size was a bit small – since they gave us corner room, it was smaller than the normal rooms. The hotel was operating at very low occupancy – just about 10 to 20% - under such a situation, a hotel oriented towards guest comfort or delight would have upgraded to higher room category, however we got one of the corner rooms – much smaller than the regular rooms. There was some kind of disinterest of the staff – we used the complimentary spa but did not enjoy using it because neither Steam Room nor Hot Jacuzzi were working properly – the focus seemed to be on saving electricity.

Breakfast was average. A small request like a late check out for one of the rooms (after spending 6 room nights in the hotel) had to be made and reminded a few times and they obliged after General Manager’s approval. Most hotels which are operating at high occupancy also try and accommodate this request with pleasure, however HM Grand operating at under 20% had to seek GM’s approval after 3 reminders – something seriously amiss.

Overall, the hotel is nice new boutique property, lacks customer focus though – which I believe is most important in hospitality (or for that matter any other) business.
