This is a great hotel in a great location. You can see the ruins from your balcony and the rooftop patio is a fun place to have breakfast in the morning and to read in the afternoon. If staying in Ollantaytambo you really should look into staying at Kamma House.

We stayed 3 nights in Ollantaytambo and enjoyed very much our stay at Kamma Guest House. Liz greeted us at the front desk and immediately gave us all the information we would need to know about the town. In the morning we enjoyed breakfast (fresh eggs, fruit with granola, local bread) on the rooftop dining area with the spectacular and breathtaking views of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Breakfast was delicious and a relaxing start to long days of sightseeing. Location is excellent. Steps to the town square and markets and short 15 minute walk to the train station. Liz was very accommodating and wonderful. Highly recommend!!!

This was my second time staying with Liz and Paola, and it was even better the second time around.

We stayed in the family room on the first floor, the beds are very comfortable and a great place to rest after exploring Ollantaytambo or trips to Machu Picchu/elsewhere in the Sacred Valley.

Liz and Paola are wonderful to simply chat with and also offer a map of Ollantaytambo upon checkin with details of how to access the Ollantaytambo ruins, Pinkuylluna (whose entrance is right across from the front door), the lesser-visited Qelloraqay ruins, and how to access the train station.

If you have an early train to Machu Picchu, they will leave you with a lovely to-go bag for breakfast consisting of bread with cheese, juice, fruit, and wafers. The breakfast that is served from 7-9 on the terrace, however, is incredible. Fresh fruit with Andean granola, yogurt, coffee or tea, fresh squeezed juice, bread with jam and butter, and eggs. The views of the Ollantaytambo ruins while you're eating are pretty magical.

Overall, a wonderful second time for us staying at Kamma. Highly recommend staying with Paola and Liz if you get the chance. Looking forward to a third visit in the future!

What a find in Ollantaytambo! Away from the noise of the main plaza, with nice rooms and an amazing rooftop patio (where the included breakfast is served every day).
Rooms are comfortable, with good hot water and clean throughout.
The best thing are the hosts - they are very personable and ensure your stay is great. They have essentials (like bottled water) at store prices.
All in all, we would definitely recommend Kamma as the place to stay in Ollantaytambo.

My husband and I visited for 3 nights the hotel is a short walk from the Main Street and very close to the main plaza with multiple choices of restaurants, very close to the train station. The hotel is very charming the rooms are a bit small but perfect since we were out most of the day. Liz and Pao were such amazing hosts always available and very kind giving us tips when we asked. They packed each one of us a lunch box when we left to the Machu Pichu at 5:30 AM which was great start to our adventure. I will highly recommend this hotel.

Lis was a great hostess. She speaks English beautifully. Very attentive and helpful. They served both a cooked breakfast and a box breakfast for when you leave early. The rooftop terrace has the kitchen. You have a view of 2 ruin sites from up there. It was a great place.

I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere other than at this beautiful guesthouse. Loved my room and opening the doors onto my little balcony to an incredible vista of Inca ruins. Even the views from the rooftop terrace and dining area were breath-taking. Take the time to read some of the wonderful books on display in the lobby lounge area. Did I mention the breakfast? Delicious. I look forward to when I can stay again. 💜👌

This is such a lovely little place, up a cobblestone alley that follows an ancient aqueduct, rushing with cold, mountain water. Out any window you're guaranteed a view of stupendous Inca structures looming over the city. Up on the rooftop restaurant, you can see both at the same time, along with the rest of the charming city of Ollantaytambo. While there, don't forget to pet the resident dogs, and make sure be fair about it, because the dogs can get a little jealous. The staff was absolutely wonderful, kind, approachable and always there to help of give advice. This has to be one of the nicest places you could choose in Ollantaytambo. You'll be within easy walking distance of everything, from shopping to restaurants to interesting cultural sites. The town deserves at least a day of its own before you jump on the train to Machu Picchu -you can't go wrong with the Kamma Guest House.

My favorite hotel in Peru! It was so nice to stay in a small town for a change where there were Inca ruins, great restaurants and not too many people.
I loved that I could open my window and hear the water running down the old Inca irrigation system, and there was a nice roof terrace to relax on and watch the stars at night.
The staff at the guesthouse were amazing! I got advice about what to do and where to eat as well as having all my questions about Ollantaytambo answered.

Kamma guest house was wonderful- comfortable room and beds and good bathroom with good water pressure. 3 min walk from Plaza Mayor. Excellent T hot breakfast with fresh-squeezed OJ and a beautiful view or Incan spots. Liz is welcoming and accommodating and so helpful finding a bank (none in Ollantay- need to go to Urumbamba). Liz and her partner will handle your laundry on request. Do NOT bring large rolling suitcases that you cannot carry to Ollantay as roads are all cobblestone. What a lovely town with lots of great hiking and walking and lovely, warm people.

Kamma Guest House was top on my list of places I stayed in Peru. The rooms are cozy, the beds are firm and comfy, the showers are hot with good pressure and it’s peaceful. Despite being close to the canal, the sound of the water was actually pretty relaxing. Having a delicious breakfast at the terrace with a view of Ollantaytambo was amazing. Above all, the hospitality was exceptional. Liz made our stay truly memorable.

Wonderful homey stay

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kamma guest house. The guest house itself is not far from the main square (but cars can’t access it directly so you have to carry your luggage a couple of small blocks; this was not a problem for us as we had packed light). Since the guest house is in the old town, the rooms were on the smaller side but very well appointed (with a safe, hairdryer, clean towels and soap/shampoo), I loved the little balcony that we had. The rooftop is amazing with a beautiful view of town and the mountains. But the best part was Liz, the owner. She is a true gem, so helpful, especially as some of us got hit by altitude sickness.

We LOVED Kamma House! Liz and Paola were so welcoming and helpful with everything - maps and recommendations, laundry service (!), even arranging a porter and then a driver to get us safely back to Cusco.
The bedding was so cozy and the little veranda was an added surprise. Breakfast is served on the rooftop deck overlooking the Pinkalluna granaries in one direction and the sun temple ruins on the other. It is a divine way to start the day.
I definitely recommend Kamma House!

Amazing hosts, super clean and comfortable, great blend of a well run hotel vs a charming b&b. From the moment you stepped thru the doors you get a very warm and personalized welcome followed by the fastest check in process. The room was immaculate and while small it uses the space well so you have enough flat surfaces for things and even a small balcony. If you are a couple with lots of luggage you may not find this to be the right situation but for those who travel light and don’t need to sit around the room much it’s the one for you.

Ask Lis about the “museum”, 2 blocks away, where you can eat and drink inside a pre-Incan structure that is perhaps 1,000 years old, 500 years older than Machupicchu

Stayed at Kamma Guest House for two days during our trip to Machu Picchu. We checked out and left our luggages on the 2nd day when we went to Machu Picchu. And we came back again on the 3rd days for another night. We really fueled that we were home when Back to Kamma Guest House. Liz is very kindness and helpful. She given our suggestions about what to do in Ollantaytabmo. We are very enjoyed time we were in the town. I would like to come back again if I had chance come to Ollantaytabmo.

A memorable stay

Stayed at Kamma Guest House for two days and truly enjoyed our stay. The place is very cozy, clean, on a quite street yet very convenient location. Liz communicated so well prior to our trip as well as during our stay. She helped me booked a private transportation from Cusco airport and we customized the trip down to Ollantaytambo based on her recommendation and our situation. When our car arrived, Liz met us and helped with our luggage. Breakfast was also great. On the last day of our stay, we needed to check out ahead of the normal breakfast time. Liz even got up earlier and prepared hearty breakfast for us. Kamma Guest House is very professionally managed and I highly recommend it! Actually already recommended to my friends.

As much as I like to support the small businesses, I have to say that I was disappointed with my stay with this property. The property is just very basic with small room and small bathroom. Very bare basic nothing else. Particularly I'm not happy with the fact that the host overcharged the transportation and tour (you could literally get better cars with less than the half price from the main square and/or train station).

Ollantaytambo is beautiful. so glad that we picked this guest house. the free hiking trail is in front of this place. We were the only two guests staying there. So luxury lol two friendly ladies cooked breakfast for us in the morning. Great view from their rooftop. Room is small but we got two beds. Love the balcony and creek on the side. Such a beautiful and peaceful setting. One lady spoke pretty good English and took good care of us. Thanks so much for everything!

Best breakfast we had for all of our Sth American travels, hosts were so helpful and friendly and honest (even drove out of town to meet us when they realised we'd overpaid). Location is excellent, easy to find. Private bathrooms. Great views from the top as well.

The hotel is convenient, clean, modern. The rooftop terrace for breakfast is amazing. But best of all was the staff. Liz met us at the city center, arranged baggage transport, and easily lined up transport to and from Cusco and to various locations in the Sacred Valley as well as advising on restaurants, travel times, etc. We stayed four nights andd Ollantaytambo is the perfect location, small town, walking distance to market and restaurants, surrounded by Incan ruins. The location was excellent, right by everything you need. Service from Liz was wonderful, she was very kind and wanted to make sure you had a great breakfast. The view from breakfast was beautiful too. Property was quite dated, beds are small and firm, rooms are so tiny and there is a window going into the bedroom that faces a hallway with a bright light. If you’re staying just one or two nights would recommend it but for more than 2 nights I would stay somewhere else.

I may have reviewed the Kamma previously--but we stayed for a couple of nights in July 2019 and were very, very pleased by our time. Lisa was terrific, very helpful and knowledgable. The locating is great-close to the main square but down one of the original Incan cobblestone walks, a babbling water channel next to it (for restful sleep).

Great Base for Exploring Ollantaytambo (a living Inca town)
The Kamma is set in the historic Inca part of the city close to the central square-an ideal, quaint location. The hotel itself is small around a dozen rooms, all clean, bright and modern. Breakfast in a rooftop cafe with view of the entire valley.
Lisa, the proprietor, is a young graduate of a Tourism Management program and applies her skills very well to taking care of her guests. She speaks English and is very knowable about the area, the Inca history and how to really enjoy this lovely jewel of a historic place.

The Kamma guesthouse is located in the historical street and our room even has an Inca wall. The room is clean and staffs are very helpful. The breakfast is great. I highly recommend this place to stay in Ollantaytambo.

Wonderful small hotel, but noisy

Let me get the biggest negative out of the way first – it is noisy. The windows in Peru in general do not close very tight, but here you’ve got dogs, parties next door, loud arguing in the alley, all somewhat cancelled by constant running water. Although this probably applies to most places in Ollantay.

Other than that, it is a wonderful small hotel. We stayed for 3 nights in the family suite on the first floor, which had one double and one twin bed. In our unit the windows were small, but other suites have nice Juliette balconies on the second floor. The room was small but had a TV and a safe. There was always plenty of hot water and pressure for showers.

There is no a/c, but the weather is pretty mild. The hotel recently underwent renovation, so everything is clean and shiny. The breakfast was tasty on the rooftop terrace overlooking the ruins. WiFi was strong and reliable. Liz, the manager, is omni-present and super helpful. There is a selection of teas and coca leaves to help you with altitude sickness.

The hotel is hard to reach with luggage, as it is in the middle of a pedestrian zone, call ahead and they will send out a dolly to pick you up. Right across the alleyway is the entrance to Pinkuylluna (free!)

Keep in mind, there is a 5% surcharge for using credit card to check out.

Kamma is a wonderful hotel. We really enjoyed the rooftop breakfast overlooking some Incan ruins. The hotel entrance is actually at the base of some ruins that are free to walk. We loved the ability to walk out of our hotel and into a hiking opportunity. The staff was so kind and packed a breakfast for us on our early morning trip to Machu Picchu. We loved this hotel.

Lovely property. Great location. Ollantaytambo is incredibly safe and this is located a short walk down a charming alley from the center. In a quiet spot with a small tiny idyllic stream running next to it which the sound of is soothing at night. Amazing staff that works hard to accommodate as well!

A well-managed and comfortable, clean guest house in great location. Liz, the manager, could not have been more helpful and informative. They stored our cases securely for two days while we went to Machu Picchu. Great shower, very comfy bed, good WiFi, lovely views from roof terrace where breakfast is served.

The hotel is located in an alley where the road is made of big stones (most of the roads are like that in Ollantaytambo), so it wasn’t easy to walk if it’s wet or if you have suitcases. However, you can arrange with the hotel for a trolley for your luggage. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful with tours and taxis, etc. The rooms are clean and quite comfortable. It’s also convenient to visit the nearby Inca sites which are within 10 mins walk with one of them just opposite to the hotel. There are quite a lot of restaurants within walking distance.
