Room was a good size with large double bed, thoroughly cleaned every day. Staff were very friendly and helpful even to the music played in the shuttle bus to the beach. Pool and area lovely and clean, the water a good temperature, and the barman always there with a cold beer.

All aboard the bus!

We stayed in one of their ‘budget buses’ and you get what you pay for! Small and cosy, but close to the pool & breakfast. Feels a bit like a caravan, but did the job. Breakfast was good - good selection. Location is a bit far to the beach - around 30 min walk.

Perfect!

We had an amazing stay at Manohra. Because it is low season there are not many tourists and that is perfect. It felt like we have the hotel only to ourselves 😁 It is quiet and tranquil. Even though it is a 20 min walk from Karon beach, we love the location. There is a free shuttle that goes from the hotel to the beach every day at 10am.

Close to a really cheap supermarket, 7 eleven, Night Market (Tuesday&Friday). There’s also a good restaurant next to the hotel with very good prices.

It is clean and the staff is so lovely and friendly.

We already want to go back there, so yes, we recommend it 100%. We don’t know think there is anything else there as great, especially for this price.

Staff were very friendly,informative and went out their way to make our stay enjoyable and they succeded ! Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and air conditioning was perfect. Good location ,10 minutes walk to Karon Temple markets and shops though plenty eateries along the way. Street footpaths where they exist are very rough so watch your step and passing traffic.

Cheap hotel , reasonable distance from the beach\n

I have used the Manohra on several occasions , this year was not exceptional . When I arrived , carryingy case up 2 flights of stairs I was given my room key and had to go find my room myself j, going back down the 2 flight's of stairs . A little disappointed with my room this year , dirty bed sheets when I arrived and dirty towels , these were rectified quickly though . Will almost certainly stay there again , but I would the customer service was up to their usual standard

The hotel can do so much better !

The hotel is located on the quieter side of Karon beach on the main road , may take little over 15 min walk to the beach. The hotel proved to be a big turn off especially with its FIRST IMPRESSION ! as soon as we enter the property the first thing you would see is a huge room filled with all broken furniture and discarded items ! the hotel is dated and is crying for refurbishment !
outdated tiny TV with poor connection, hard mattress and poor wifi connection does not help in anyway. hotel is struck in the 80's !
Reception is not trained well enough to provide a warm welcome - but if you make the effort and talk to them can find them to be helpful

Pros are the good sized rooms , very reasonably priced and CLEAN and LARGE rooms

This is a hotel that has very huge potential but has a completely neglected feel .

Great hotel at a bargain price

We had a great stay at the Manohra. The staff, in particular the night time receptionist, were all lovely and friendly. Our room was large, very clean and had everything we could want at the price. The view was out over the treetops and we had the pleasure of watching birds and lizards in the trees. The pool had a great view ... one way was over the rooftops towards the sea, the other was to a hill covered in jungle. Yes there was some building work nest door, but this was all being done by hand when we were there so there was no disturbance.
We didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food offering.
To make the most of the area you need to hire a moped. Thai law has recently changed and you now need to have your driving licence with you to hire a bike.

The hotel is pretty far from the beach in Karon. The room is spacious with large nice bathroom. Only furniture was a bit old, but generally we were very satisfied with the room. The reception staff wasn't very helpful. Everytime I asked about something they would rather upsell their transfers, tours etc then actually respond to my question. It was very annoying. The hotel was deffinetely worth it's price but i wouldn't stay there longer than 2 nights.

beware of bedbugs

My holiday turned into a nightmare. I'm bitten by bedbugs after staying one night and had to move to other room. Little small bugs and white eggs found on the head of bed.

It really made me crazy. I itchy all over and the bites were buring to death. I had to go to pharmacy and took last the entire stay.

Second visit here. If travelling on a budget and just want to relax, Manohra Cozy Resort is the place. Will need to hire transportation to move around unless you really like walking in hot sun.

Nice quiet hotel, beautiful scenery close to beach

Loved our stay at the hotel for our honeymoon. The scenery is beautiful as it is next to a mountain lots of butterflies flying around! The beach is about a 20 minute walk although the hotel have a bus that will take you there at 10am every morning.
Quiet area of phuket so if you are looking for a relaxing stay then this is the place. we had the pool to ourselves the majority of our time here!
The room was nice but could of been a bit cleaner although for the price we didn't mind too much.
the staff are friendly and helpful.
Would visit again!

Your pick for a couple of days rest

If you're looking for a couple of quiet days relaxing and sunbathing at the pool/beach, for a very good price/quality this hotel is where you want to be.

You'll find everything you need (beach/restaurant etc) within 15/20 min of walking distance either to the left or the right. Despite the temperature these are easy walks and not \"hard walks goinf up the hill\" as I read in previous comments.

Current price to Patong currently is 400 bath (one way) and to the airport 850 bath (one way)

Me and my wife stayed here from 25-30 may 2016. Cannot fault anything, very friendly and helpful staff with good local knowledge. Hotel was very clean.
Beach is abit of distance away but the hotel has a shuttle service in the morning to the beach. You have to make your own way back.

Clean and Cool

I had a wonderful experience with Manohra Cozy Resort. This is an outstanding choice for travelers who are looking for an affordable but clean/quiet/cool launching point for all that Phuket has to offer. It's about half-way between Patong and Kata Beach. I was looking for a hotel that would accommodate daily excursions to SCUBA and sight-seeing locations. I couldn't be happier with my choice. And the breakfasts were outstanding.

The rooms were a good size with huge bathrooms and some nice extras (hairdryer, water boiler, large fridge). However the water from the boiler is warm rather than hot and no milk powder is supplied. Some of the staff were very helpful whereas others showed little interest in enhancing the overall experience. Breakfast is available but you must opt for one of their set menus and other food is limited if, in fact, it is offered at all. All in all it's mediocre but if you like a nice pool, don't mind a 10-15 min walk down an unpaved road for food and you value peace and quiet then this might be the place for you

Excellent staff at small \"boutique\" hotel

Hotel and staff were wonderful especially Inthira on the front desk, a bit of a walk to the the beach though there is a free shuttle at 10.00am each day, we found it enjoyable strolling down the hill each day.The pool was large and kept very clean.It was very quiet, just what we needed to unwind, room was large and the refrigerator kept our drinks icy cold - just what you need after a long hot day out. Problem with the aircon in my friends room was quickly resolved. Breakfast choices were limited but adequate each morning. Would recommend this hotel if you are after a smaller \"boutique\" hotel in a quite location.

Nice to stay for the holiday

Stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The staff were super accommodating and helpful! They helped arranged for our tours and even made suggestions to help us maximize our trip. They also assisted us with our airport pick up to our hotel and accommodated our questions even though it was already super late.

Great stay

Large room, almost luxurious with computer, LCDTV, large refrigerator, large bathroom, free beach shuttle, staff speaks english, good breakfast, motobike rental for 250 baht a day, great pool. Overall awesome for the price. The only unpleasant thing is the high frequency of old western men with young thai girls, but if your into that thing you'll find a couple's retreat.

Terrible Management. Staff was helpful though.

The hotel did not have any working Wifi for days.
They had a problem with the water flow so we were out of water for a whole day.
Having an infant with us, it's not easy to manage without water supply.
I asked to be able to check out, but the deal we got was to pack up our things and leave the room within 5min and without refund for that day. So even though I'm paying for the room that day, I was not allowed to stay there over night and check out in the morning.

Evening time, we had to pack up all our stuff and check out immediately, find a new hotel and pay that hotel for the same day as well. Again, doing this with a baby is a mess.

The working staff was nice, but the management was just crazy. Did not consider our situation at all and we had to pay for checking out when they were the ones that had the whole hotel without water supply.

Besides the terrible experience we had, I can not say it's a hotel suited for families. Nothing of interest close by and no families staying there. More suited for friends or couples perhaps.

Far from the beach, not for family but lovely staf

We chose this hotel because of excellent reviews. However, we didn't realise how far away this hotel is from the beach and the centre of Karon Beach since you need to walk 15 min or take a taxi. With our 2 year old that was quite inconvenient so wouldn't recommend this for families with small children. Our room was nice and spacious and staff was really friendly and loved kids. Restaurant didn't serve any Thai food which was a minus but breakfast was ok and hotel offers good value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is very nice inside and out. The room was very nicely decorated and was very big. Bed was comfy and aircon was great. Bathroom was massive and we actually had a bath in it...rare for Thailand! Nice pool in the place too with loads of sun loungers. Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. The only downside I can mention is It is a 20 minute walk into Karon centre from the hotel and 30 minutes walk to Karon beach which is not that bad but i feel like i should mention it, especially if people have kids or are not that mobile. We hired a scooter from the hotel at a good price and was really easy to get in and out of Karon and Patong. I would recommend you to do the same as all you need to hire is to pass over your passport as deposit. The roads are ok and just go slow and you will be fine. Patong area is close by, about 20 minute drive, it is lively and has good markets and loads of bars and restaurants, you can take a taxi but trips can mount up in cost as the taxi men like to make up prices to tourists, so be prepared to negotiate. On the whole a great little hotel on a budget, perfect for couples.

Nice hotel close to Karon Village

This was our first ever visit to Thailand and we were overwhelmingly impressed. Upon arrival we were notified that we had been upgraded to a superior and that breakfast was included - awesome way to start a vacation. The staff were not intrusive but were quick to help in any way that they could - especially for recommendations for planning outings. Our whole experience was totally positive and I would definitely stay here again if, and when, I go back to Phuket.

First stay at Karon, Phuket

Lovely resort on the outskirts of Karon, in a quiet location and a great outlook. Our room was very spacious, clean and modern. We had a private balcony overlooking a natural hilly jungle. The main part of Karon is not close by so transport is needed to get anywhere, but this is offset by the quiet location. The pool area looked so inviting and relaxing. The resort is in a hilly location with steps to get to the rooms.

It was a such a nice experience and the staff were amazing, they helped us in every way they can in order to make our stay more comfortable. They helped us in getting best deals for the tours. Breakfast was ok, but could have been better if it contained halal food like chicken ham and chicken sausages instead of pork. But overall it was a great stay at this hotel and I would definetly stay there if I ever go to Phuket again 😀.

Modest hotel with great price

Ref. very cheap price 120€/week, one should not expect too much.
Hotel was ok, and there is everything you need, but the style and spirit cannot be compared with nice thai hotels. With better management it could be easily upgrated, now (basicly nice) pool area is just a boring pool area with three shades for chairs and big hot terrace. And there is basicly ok breakfast, but no variety and food stays on the table without coolers.
Looks like owners are satisfied with current style.

With given price, it is anyway good choise for those who just need a place to stay and dont rate hotel with its breakfast, pool, restaurant and authentic nice tropic/thai atmosphere. They have cheap scooters to rent (4€/day) which makes it easier to those who keep it as base to go around. But if looking for nice hotel experience and prefer to have everything nearby, maybe not best choise as the location is a bit remote and hotel itself does not offer anything special.

Just OK if for a night or two

Pros - Not expensive, nice pool. Staff was very nice and always tried to help answer your questions. Only 1 shuttle To the Beach, you will need to find own ride/transport back to hotel. Cons - Run down and a bit dingy in decor and overall cleanliness. Yellow stains on sheets and towels, had massive bug problem in the lobby where they were always sweeping away these flies/bugs that looked like ants with wings. Far from beach ~15-20 min walk.

I spent 7 nights in the hotel with my sister and cousin.
I loved my stay here. Lovely, quiet, very clean hotel with nice breakfast and amazing view. The pool is brilliant!
The receptionists were very helpful. The lady who run the kitchen at breakfast was also very kind. Only the europian looking managers/ owners were unfriendly. Never sad hello to us.
Only one disadvantage. It's not close to the centre. We most evenings had a tuktuk ride. Cost 200 baht.

Nice hotel with huge rooms

We had a great stay here and the staff were really nice. We didn't get there until late as our plane was delayed, but there was still a member of staff waiting who came and helped with our luggage. Our first impression was that the room was huge and that means a massive bathroom too. The first night, we only had a sheet on our bed to sleep under, but my girlfriend wanted another blanket, which they provided for us when we asked. The room was lovely and clean everyday when we got back each day. The staff were always helpful and provided us with everything we asked for. The food was really good too. I had lots of fruit every morning and they put more out as soon as any of the plates ran out.

good choice

I liked this hotel. the pool is great, the room is clean. the service is really good, they are very friendly and do everything for you. The only negative experience was that when I was leaving they charged me for a water and banana shake, which I did not have. I do not think it was on purpose (surely, you would pick something more expensive if you want extra income), yet it was a bit of a disappointment. I would recommend it with confidence.

First Phuket Visit

After only a little research we settled on staying at Karon beach. It being our first it me in Phuket I was surprised at the crowds. I thought Patong was the crowded beach, Karon seemed crowded to me. The hotel itself was fine, I feel it was a little overpriced for what you get. The balconies are a joke. The breakfast was good, and renting a scooter was nice. The hotel is about a twenty minute walk from the beach, too far when it's hot.

Good service/pool but hotel is a little rundown

I was a little disappointed with the condition of the hotel. It felt like some renovations had been done recently, but overall, the place felt pretty dated, which the pictures on hotels.com did not really highlight. The location is just ok, a 20 minute walk to the beach, but there is nice trees/nature on one side of the hotel. The pool is probably the best feature and was a nice place to hang out at. Also, the staff and breakfast were also good aspects. They provide scooter rentals for about US $7.50 a day, which was really nice and useful and easy to get set up. There was noisy construction going on right next to the hotel and the patio areas looked nice in the pictures but turned out to not really be an area you would want to hang out at. Overall, pretty pricey stay for a place that felt just mediocre.

We stayed for for 4 nights in the Manhora before we booked into a 5* spa resort to go to a wedding. After our stay in the posh 5* we both agreed our stay in the manhora was by far the better of the two. The Italian guys that owned the hotel were really helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We loved the area which was within walking distance to the town and beautiful beach at karon. Beds were great and the room was really clean. I would definitely recommend staying at this place. Oh yea, and the pool was beautiful. Book it!

We had really enjoyable stay here for 9 nights. Don't be put off by the ground floor entrance which is nothing like the rest of the hotel (reception is on the first floor). The hotel is clean and the place is well maintained. We had a fantastic breakfast each morning and the pool area is great. The only downside we had was that the shower is very low, if you are slightly tall then you will have to hold the shower head which although isn't that big a deal it is slightly annoying. Overall I would highly recommend the Manohra Cozy resort and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I was very happy with this hotel. My room had a computer with an internet connection, so I did not need to bring my laptop. Everything was clean and very comfortable. A beach shuttle was available at 10 AM once daily. The beach was about a 15 minute walk straight down a main road. The tub and shower were clean and worked well. The hotel will contact a taxi driver at a fair rate upon request and can even arrange a full day driver. The breakfast was good, and there was room service and a bar available. The pool was nice, but I didn't swim there. I sat out there at night and got a drink at the pool bar.

This is a great place to stay-don't worry that you're not on the beach-it's easy and inexpensive to rent a scooter from the property and get to Karon and Kata beaches. The staff is very friendly and helpful-the pool is open all night and the on-site restaurant is good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Traveller Friendly

Very traveller and tourist friendly hotel. Since we were only passing through Phuket on the way to Koh Lanta, we only stayed there for 1 night but we had an enjoyable stay. Hotel was understanding of the need to change our double room to a room with twin beds since we were cousins traveling together. Our room was relatively standard and a large buffet breakfast included in rate. Nice outdoor pool on large patio with great views. Resort is a 10-15 minute walk to Karin beach so it a bit of a hike to the beach but it was pleasant to wake up in a quiet, remote environment in what felt like the jungle.

Dinner at the restaurant was tasty but generous portions and spicy Thai dishes might have been the cause of my cousins sickness the following day. I found the food and cocktails to be delicious but I'm not certain he would agree with me. The restaurant also offers numerous Italian dishes so there might be some safer choices for everyone.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, our room was spacious and very clean. If we needed anything the staff were quick to assist us. The pool is nice and clean. Overall a good experience. The only downfall is the location but if you're willing to walk or take a scooter it isn't a big deal. 15 minutes to the beach or a 3 minute scooter ride.

The Manohra Cozy Resort is a very nice hotel. It is located perfectly on a quiet hillside. All of Phuket is in reach. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is very good. It isn't perfect, but we will stay there again if we return to Phuket.

Great Service, Off the beaten path

Recently returned from 3 nights at the Manohra Cozy resort. Booked the hotel based on reviews not knowing much about Phuket or the surrounding area. We were pleasantly surprised by the great service and friendliness of the hotel staff. Everyone was very welcoming. Whenever we needed taxis or car service the hotel staff was able to accommodate and connected us with very friendly drivers. For those wanting to stay a stone's throw from the beach, this is not the resort for you, however, we enjoyed the fact that the resort was off the main drag and was a bit quieter. The surrounding hills were beautiful. The poolside restaurant was delicious (the bruchetta was better than what I tried in italy) and again the service was great. The room was nice (the bed was firmer than what my western body prefers, and didn't have a top bedspread, only a sheet so I got a bit cold at night.) Overall our stay was enjoyable.

£30 pounds does not get you as much as it used to

To be honest I did not enjoy staying here, it depends what your standards are however the place just looked grubby, it needed painted and the rooms backed onto a construction site. It was up a dirt road and not near to the beach at all. The one aspect was the Italian manager who was actually quite sweet and was really trying but didn't have much to work with.

So Friendly!

The atmosphere and staff were wonderful. the room was beautiful. the pool was very nice and the bar prices were reasonable. The beds were big, but they were rock hard. Overall though I would go again. I hope they get pads for their beds.

Very nice but need a scooter to get around

Very pleasant stay could not ask for any better,staff was more than very pleasant & helpful,the little pretty receptionist name Spicy Honey was always ready to help & guide you for what you needed,the room cleaning was excellent& very polite,the poll is big and well taking care,massage in your room is very good& gentle,the little women working the bar at the pool is 100% on her job,my Wife& I will be back for sure next year, Thank You very much everyone at Manohra Cozy Resort see you again.

Manohra hotel with a baby

We stayed at manohra hotel with our 8 month old and found the staff to be more than helpful and the rooms to be excellent value for money.
The hotel exterior is a little more rubdown than the pictures show but the pool and rooms and foyer/ restaurant are decorated lovely.
As with most accommodation in karon it is about a 15-20 min walk to the beach but it is a nice walk with lots of shopping/ snacking opportunities along the way.
We would stay there again for sure!

A tranquil getaway

After a somewhat eventful journey from the airport, my partner and I arrived at Manorah Cozy Resort. The room we were booked into was as described, although the air conditioner was leaking. Our concierge swiftly remedied this by leading us to another available room.

After a reasonable nights sleep (the sound of the air conditioning takes a bit of getting used to), we were treated to a delicious buffet breakfast. Unfortunately the espresso machine wasn't working, but the fruit was fresh, and the cooked breakfast was filling.

The receptionists were very helpful (especially the day staff), and through them we were able to arrange transport and trips (we booked a scooter for a day to make our way around Phuket).

Next time we are in Phuket, we will definately stay at Manorah Cozy Resort.

Beautiful and relaxing. Great value for the money.

The neighborhood is charming, oozing with trees, flowers and local decorations. The hotel is beautiful as well. We don't have a TV but we don't need one: we have a great view of the rice paddies from our spacious balcony, and the pool is very relaxing. We are by the monkey forest, one of the main attractions, and away from the main road. It's a secluded oasis, which is perfect for us, but if you want to go out at night (it gets dark) you would probably need to take a taxi. Breakfast is included. Recommended.

Overall great place to stay

Clean, friendly, helpfull and relaxing.
Was a mix up without airport transfer but was compensated with two wonderfull Thai massages.
Was close to shops and restruants with easy walk to karon beach.

Living the dream

If your chasing a hotel that's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and bars but close enough if you feeling like going out this is the place to go. The staff are great from the moment they pick you up from the airport to the time they drop you off. There are a few good little restaurants close by that have cold beers and cheap but good food for all the family.

Manohra Cozy is a wonderful find

It is situated after a bend in the road up the hill in Karon and is a nice quite find. It is a few kilometers/miles away from the hustle and bustle glits of Patong which is nice. They have their own restaurant/bar on site and scooter rental($8 US/day), now that is convenient. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Really bad hotel service

We asked the man in the reception if it was possible to stay one more night, and he said it was okay and not a problem at all. The next day the other receptionist is telling us that we have to check out that day and that it was some other people that was checking in.
We told her about the situation and about our agreement with the other receptionist the day before, but then she started to yell at us!! It turned out that the man we talked to the day before didn’t speak English at all. So he hadn’t understood a word.. BUT how could we know that? She was angry and not understandable. She didn’t even try to look for another solution! She just threw us out!!!!

Calm and quiet

The hotel is very nice and convenient, the pool is not big, but has a large territory around to relax and a place for kids. Sunbeds are really good - no cheap plastic stuff. Ideal place for people who want just a calm relaxation.

Bathrooms are very strange - you can see all those unnessessary steps on pictures, but big. Rooms and beds are also big and spacy. I had a small lizard as a neighbor :) Terrace is nice!

The location is no good for those who want to go shopping and dining and is very active. It takes about 20 minutes to walk (to the right) to the Karon beach (at Karon circle point), 10 minutes (to the right) to Temple. Though there are some good authentic restaurants near by and a big Da Mario (but usually people do not flight to Thai to eat strange and expensive pasta&pizza). The place itself is very quiet and calm - hotel has jungles at the side and Thai cottages around.

Karon Hillside rocks!

Hotel was awesome, only criticism.....bed was hard as! Service is amazing, pool is awesome, just a short walk to the beach. Everything you need right at ur finger tips. Would totally come again!

Great hotel for middle aged couple

Lovely peaceful location. Great pool and poolside bar, with first class and friendly service. Open air poolside resataurant was a marvellous setting for evening dinner and a few drinks. The busier pubs and restaurants were within easy walking distance, so best of both worlds. Very friendly atmosphere.

A get away from it all break

This hotel is a little gem, tuck away in the hillside on the main route to Karon beach. A short walk away, ( 20 mins ) or by Taxi or scooter in a few minutes. Scooter hire is available at the hotel for 200 Baht per day. The rooms a large and air conditioned, but in need of some up-dating.Each room has a small balcony for you to sit on and relax with a drink. The pool area is very clean and quiet with outside eating area and bar. I can thoughly recommend the menu, which compares to any 5 star hotel. All in all this hotel is very good value for money, with pleasant friendly staff to make your break enjoyable. I would not hesitate in booking another visit.

Great stay at Karon Hillside

Had a great time at Karon Hillside. Fantastic little hotel and great value. The rooms and hotel itself are clean and tidy and the staff, right from reception, cleaners, bar staff through to the owner are so friendly and helpful. In addition to this the food was absolutely gorgeous!

The pool and bar area are lovely just adding to this relaxing little hotel.

It is about a 10 minute walk into the town but it's not a problem. You can also get a taxi from the hotel for about 200 baht (£4) if you feel lazy.

I'd definitely go again.

Enjoyed the stay, was a little far away from Karon, but you can walk it easy enough. The food and staff at Karon were great, loved the pool and bar.

This Hotel is cheap and comfortable but quite far from the beach and shopping strip in Karon. Takes ths in consideration before booking a stay. The pool is beautifully located with a great view over Karon. During the night alot of mosquitos turn up.

We liked it, didn't want to leave...

This was a great holiday, the hotel was very pleasant, staff were very helpful. It was a bit of a walk to the beach but we needed the exercise, by the end of the week we were walking everywhere, taxis and motorcycles were available. The pool upstairs was very lovely at sunset, the food was pretty good. Our only problem was that at the end of the week we did not want to leave!!!

Good hotel

This is a good hotel, nice big rooms, good service, they even killed a spider for us, good breakfast, good pool, nice a quiet and away but also very close to the turistareas. Good Thai eating places near the hotel and good massage near..
