Just got back from a 7 night stay. Had a wonderful time! The rooms were clean and loved the filtered water machine and cappuccino maker in our room. Most food was very good with Bamboo (Asian) and Manglar (seafood) being our favorite restaurants. The pizza stand by the pool was awesome! The pool and pool bar staff were fun. Shoutout to Alan at the club swim-up bar. Recommend paying extra for the club adult side of the resort if you are traveling without kids. The beach was also great! We swam in the ocean and saw manta rays and sea turtles by the shore. Beautiful sunsets also. Highly recommend the Westin!

The property and Costa Rica are beautiful. The staff were outstanding—professional, friendly, and clearly part of a well-run operation. The resort itself is well maintained overall, but the guest rooms are beginning to show signs that they need upgrades and more attention to maintenance.

Our room had mold visible behind the wallpaper in the bedroom. While the air conditioning kept the room comfortably cool, it leaked a significant amount of water from the ceiling onto the tile floor, creating a slippery hazard. The bathroom sink also leaked, causing the same issue. Maintenance responded promptly each time we called, which was appreciated. They repaired the air conditioning leak, but the bathroom leak persisted.

Because repairs required staff to enter the room while we were there in the evenings, after long days spent enjoying the beach and pool, we chose not to continue requesting service. Instead, for the last three days of our stay, we placed towels on the floor and worked around the leak as best we could.

Despite these issues, my children and I enjoyed the resort's amenities. The food was better than expected for an all-inclusive property, the pool temperature was perfect, and the beach was absolutely stunning. We made many wonderful memories during our stay. The maintenance issues did detract from the overall experience, but the beauty of the property and the exceptional staff still made it a memorable vacation.

Thé property is on the beach and the beach is not well maintained. The property is wide spread and the nature is beautiful. Many animals are roaming around and birds and monkeys are enjoying the trees. The restaurants are ok. Service is good. The food is ok nothing spectacular. Just adequate. Some restaurants you have to make reservations on the same day and reservations open up at 8 am. Very inconvenient during vacation to worry about reservation line opening at 8 am . Few minutes after 8 all he spots are booked. Definitely bad experience. All restaurants are closed between 3 and 5:30 pm expect the room service that takes 45 minutes to deliver the food limited menu. Since the property is very far from the town there are no other options. Very inconvenient during vacation to not have access to food. There is a take out Italian that you can get pizza or cesar salad only but again you have to wait and take the food to go . Paying for all inclusive option but getting pizza and Cesar salad between hours of 3 to 6 pm is false advertising. Guests at a almost 5 stars resort shouldn’t be treated like college cafeteria.
Rooms are ok nothing fancy. Dark rooms with limited space. The grounds are walkable but dark at night since the lighting is very low not pleasant evening strolls. Overall felt like we are doing times at a facility rather than an exotic vacation in a resort. Tours are limited also and they play games with the hours paid and actual time you get . Won’t recommend.

The property was amazing, we upgraded to the adult pool, is great if you like to relax and want ambience. The food was just okay, there were a few items on the menu that was really great, just a few. It’s disheartening that you pay for all inclusive and then have to pay for lobster or other cuts of beef. I think if they work on the menu and provide some nightlife it would be perfect!

We enjoyed our stay at the Westin Reserva Conchal. The property is well managed and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We did have a few hiccups during our stay but the staff always stepped in quickly. The Westin Club pool is lovely, the main pool is far from luxurious and very busy. The food at dinner was decent, but lunch was a big disappointment. The main issue we had was the beds, they were comfy but tiny for 2 adults (full size, not queen).

The rooms were spacious and clean. Each room has a machine that provides cold, room-temp, and hot water. Bring a water bottle to refill. The property was very expansive, but there are golf carts that give you a ride to the restaurants and the beach. The beach was nice, and there were not many people on it in mid-May. The water temperature was excellent. The specialty restaurants were great, and the food was excellent. However, there were not that many alcoholic drink options, and the waiters usually didn't refill water and wine unless asked. The beef tenderloin and the soups were exceptional. We saw many animals on the property like iguanas, monkeys, racoons, armadillos, and coati. Our biggest complaint is that there was no entertainment during some of the evenings of our stay. Also, this resort, like others in the area, is far from the Liberia airport.

Deluxe junior suite was beautiful! Adults really should stick with Westin Club pool. Best food was at Faisinella. Bamboo Asian was really bad. Caracola has most diverse menu and pretty good. Bathrooms in restaurant area were shameful. Sunset at beach incredible, but local vendors can be annoying. Overall still a great resort!

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff were super unfriendly & not helpful. They did not make eye contact. We asked several staff members where we could find towels & they could only point towards the massive pool.

The beach is completely full of people selling things like nothing I’ve ever seen & the vendors are very aggressive in soliciting you.

The pool is extremely uninviting with cups and trash left around the pool and the bathroom unusable because it was so dirty.

This hotel does not meet normal Westin standards. Thankfully we were able to move to the W next door where everything was wonderful, clean & the staff were amazing and friendly. Rosa made the moving process extremely difficult since she was trying to charge us twice after we were told we would get a full refund for the Westin. Luckily, it was straightened out by the helpful staff at the W.

During our stay at the W, we ran into guests of the Westin who were buying day passes at the W for all of the same reasons as noted above - right down to the towels,

They advise that golf is included. It IS NOT. the main dinning doesn't open until 8am. If you want a coffee before 8am. You have to pay for it. The all inclusive drinks are watered down. The bus ride from airport is long, bad roads, and heavy traffic.

We just came back from our trip this morning! What a great time we had my only complaint is the way to the beach.. we know is a public beach but staff from the hotel should help maintain the cleanliness on the way from the hotel to the beach.. unfortunately is surrounded by outsiders that are offering their services which I think is a bit too much but is just uncomfortable to walk to the beach with dirty bottles and other stuff . If that’s illegal for these people to offer their business right out of the hotel just keep calling the police so they don’t keep harassing the hotel clients.

We stayed at the Westin Club adult-only area, which is definitely worth the upgrade. The family pool was loud. The adult-only pool was quieter and the swim-up bar was great with tasty pina coladas and margaritas. Coffee and cocktails across campus tasted watered down. Faisanella restaurant is exclusive to the adult-only area for breakfast and lunch, so it was nice to have a quieter option there. The rooms were beautiful and cool even on the hottest days. The beds were so comfortable. It was awesome to see so many animals (monkeys, iguanas, coatis, etc.). The staff was really sweet and helpful. They offered rides across campus and gave tips on experiences. We booked ziplining and Cloud Forest through Xplora which was pricey but great. If you’re ziplining, spring for the far away courses like Monteverde (3-4 hours away one way, but so much greener, higher, faster). The food was pretty good, like Mitra for breakfast buffet, Bamboo or Spirula for reservation-only dinner (you have to book at 8 a.m. day-of), Cauri for tapas with a sunset view. The beach near the resort is small and shell-y and has a couple vendors. Walk past the rocks to the right, and over the trail to the long stretch of beach. Much better view. Sunscreen is $50 at the market and $35 at the main desk. We booked a private airport ride via nexus tours which wasn’t great, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. It would be cool if the hotel shuttle ran at multiple times. Overall really happy we stayed here!

Great beach. Coarse shell sand but still ok on bare feet. Not overly busy and right off the resort. Waves not really big enough to boogie board on but good for smaller kids to play. Pool is very nice with lots of lounging areas. Entertainment area with pool tables, ping pong and fooseball - great for kids/teens. Spacious and quiet rooms with great amenities. Animals on the resort are a highlight (iguanas, monkeys, raccoons). Food was excellent with nice variety and good quality. Staff was helpful and friendly. No complaints other than our check in was very slow.

Overall a very nice property but it could take things to the next level for the price. For example, my family of four was always only given 3 towels every day even when we consistently asked for 4. Dinner reservations were difficult to get and impossible for our larger friend group who met us there. Nightlife was a little lacking. There were activities but nothing that exciting. The sports bar shut down the audio on the night of the final four basketball games for a county music performer when everyone in the area just wanted to watch the games. Staff was overall friendly, but we’ve been to other resorts where it felt more genuine. Again, overall we can’t complain. We had a wonderful vacation. Just some minor things that stood out.

This is a beautiful 5-star property that, unfortunately, delivers more of a 2–3 star experience in key areas.

The positives first...the grounds are beautiful, with abundant wildlife and a great beach. The seafood restaurant stood out, thanks to an excellent server, and one of the shuttle drivers was truly 10/10 and made a great impression.

Where things fell short was primarily the service and food experience. The food itself was okay, and the “market”/buffet concept, where you order and wait for fresh preparation, worked fine in theory. However, the waitstaff was consistently forgetful, and it often took multiple requests to get even basic items.

The biggest issue was around the pool experience. Finding water or food (beyond pizza) was surprisingly difficult. You couldn’t order food directly from the poolside bars, and compared to other all-inclusive resorts, especially in Mexico, there was very little proactive service. Poolside waitstaff was rarely present, which made the experience feel lacking for a resort at this level.

Overall, the setting is incredible, but there’s a clear opportunity to improve service consistency and elevate the food and beverage experience to match the property itself.

3rd time to this resort. The Westin club rooms and pool area have improved but food selection and quality has slipped a bit. Premium liquor package did not include pinot Grigio and still a bit suspicious of alcohol content in the whisky I had; I never got a buzz! The concrete paths throughout the resort need a good cleaning and re-coating. Happy with our club level suite and room amenities. Dinner reservations are a bit of a game…club personnel made them for 4 days in advance when we arrived but after that had to use the app which was frustrating. It only works same same and have to log on at 8am.

We had a great time at the Westin Reserva Conchal. The property is large and beautiful with lots of wildlife (e.g. Howler Monkeys, iguanas, birds). The pool area is clean with lots of chairs. Restaurants are excellent, particularly the Bamboo, with lots of variety. Staff were also excellent, particularly Willie at the Mitra who went out of his way to ensure we had a memorable visit.

A few things that make the difference for us. The restaurants are simply not good enough for a resort that positions itself as better than the norm. The Italian was pretty good, seafood not bad and Bamboo just didn’t cut it. They all need to be better for a Westin resort. The worst part was the wine that was served at dinner. One white, a pathetic Chardonnay, and two reds, an average Cabernet and a below average Malbec. Westin should be embarrassed to serve this calibre of wine at dinner. You could purchase nicer wine but the price was preposterous.
On the plus side, the staff were wonderful. We only dealt with one or two all week that were not quite, the young man at check in at the Club and one of the servers at the restaurant by the pool. Jocelyn at the Club was amazing to deal with and more than made up for the first person we had to deal with.
On the whole, not too bad but not good enough for a Westin resort that charges quite a bit for the experience.

The resort is absolutely stunning and beautiful. The pool is huge and I never felt crowded. Swim up bar was also very nice and the drinks were decent. The food at the restaurants were mediocre and breakfast options are extremely limited. We booked an excursion through the resort and they did not even send a trolley to come pick us back up even though they stated that would be included. We had to wait almost an hour for a shuttle from another company to come and drop us off. The beach is great, but expect vendors at the beach entrance as it is a public beach. They are nice, but it can get annoying after getting propositioned after every pass through. Housekeeping was always decent. The reservation desk told us not to take our wristbands to the beach as it was a high risk of losing them and they are $25 for new ones, however the security guard at the beach entrance will not let you through if you do not have it on...so that was very confusing and frustrating. Overall, it is a nice resort with great scenery and very nice staff, however not worth the thousands we paid to be there.

The better restaurants are smaller and require reservations. They open reservations at 8am and fill fast. You can only book through their app and the wifi and cellular coverage are very intermittent which presented another problem. Beverages are always light on alcohol so do be shy about asking dor doubles alcohol content. Its not about getting drunk but taste. Overall staff was fine and service was good. On our last night they closed the buffet for dinner because they needed staff for a private function with no notice. They haven't got this product ready for ppl who have experiences like Cancun or Los Cabo.

Beautiful property and picturesque setting! The beach was lovely and we enjoyed to walk on the large and expansive shore. We were able to get lounge chairs for a small fee $4 for the day. The food quality was excellent and they had a variety of different options. The entertainment was wonderful and they offered a variety of differing experiences, the pool was also very beautiful and the water was warm. The rooms were large and the patios were very comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would recommend staying at the Westin hotel when visiting Costa Rica.

The resort was amazing, ton of restaurants to choose from, food delish. Huge pools, Game Center, shuttle cars are great and clean, staff was very friendly. Rooms were nice and spacious and clean. We had a great time at the Westin! Highly recommend!!!

The Westin Reserva Conchal all inclusive is luxury fun living in harmony with nature. Our experience was lovely with the staff as well as wildlife that was seemlessly living in the trees and on the grounds of this wonderful property. We were glad to be a part of it for our stay. Pura Vida.

This place was f********* awesome! The grouns were immaculate, the scenery, breathtaking and the staff great. They had around the clock trams and plenty on site activities. We absolutely loved it. The only points of nitpicking is the food could've been better (wasn't bad, just not stellar) and that a resort of that size probably could benefit from two pools.
