Gorgeous scenery, generous ocean view from balcony. Air conditioning sub par and fans did not work. Restaurant was excellent but more expensive than outside. Breakfast was decent. Drive up to hotel was very steep! Overall, the hotel itself was great, I think that we went in not peak season so maintenance overall was not on point. It gets incredibly humid so fans that worked would have been great. The gift store had amazing air conditioning but overpriced things. Tours from hotel also significantly over priced. If I was that wealthy I would stay at Four Seasons so I think that the prices could be a smidge lower

Our room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the ceiling fan didn't work and our slide glass door lock was broken, but being on the 6th floor, it wasn't a problem.
The hotel has a beautiful pool with swim up bar. The breakfast bar was excellent with many delicious local foods, fruits and some traditional American foods like cereal and toast.
The Beach Club is a great place to work out, swim in the pool or spend time on the beach-there are lounge chairs with wait staff service.
The hotel makes it really easy to book tours and get shuttle rides for you for surfing lessons, mangrove tours and more.
Highly recommended!

The hotel is far from the beach but the good thing is that they offer shuttle service at no cost from 9am-9pm every day.
Beach club is nice which we really liked at no cost.
But the rooms are not well maintained and housekeeping needs to improve there was mold in shower tile.
Hotel has nice view facing the beach even though it’s far from it. No near restaurant only the one connected to the hotel but there waiters are not really friendly.

The onsite restaurant was not great and expensive. Both times we decided to dine there, our burger was raw and our food was cold. The air conditioning leaked the whole time we were there and our room had various holes and cracks in the ceiling. However, the pool was great and the staff were helpful. It is far from the beach but they do provide a shuttle service that can vary on timing.

Room was clean, AC took awhile to kick in but great after that.They also had a ceiling fan, which we attempted to turn on to cool off the room. But apparently none of their fans were working. Our shower soap holder was lose , but they fixed right away. Otherwise the service was very good. It was beautiful!

This hotel has some of the best views we’ve ever experienced. The infinity pool is absolutely stunning, the grounds are spotless and beautifully maintained, and the wildlife around the property made the stay even more special. We heard howler monkeys in the trees both front and back, saw green macaws flying overhead daily, and plenty of other tropical birds throughout our stay.
The service was excellent from start to finish. Check-in was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast staff were always kind and attentive. The rooms were well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hairdryer, and a mini fridge/mini bar. We never had an issue finding loungers by the pool, and the sunsets from both the balcony and infinity pool were absolutely incredible.
There is also a pool bar serving a great assortment of blended drinks, local beers, craft beers, and hard liquor available for an additional charge — perfect for relaxing by the pool and enjoying the view.
Breakfast was good overall and fairly consistent each day. They served scrambled eggs, coffee, juices, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, and pastries and of course gallo pinto.

The hotel shuttle was a great perk, running hourly from 9am–9pm to downtown Tamarindo and the Langosta Beach Club. We often walked into town, but the hills on the way back can definitely be a workout in the heat.

The Langosta Beach Club was another huge highlight and an amazing included amenity. It’s right on the beach with a beautiful pool.

Food at the restaurant inconsistent , sometimes good, sometimes not, view was beautiful, hotel rooms need to be refreshed. They are short on white towels in the room , sometimes the clean ones are ripped off or have doubtful colour.

We loved our stay at the Wyndham Tamarindo. The staff were all great and the rooms were spacious with nice sized balconies, that had amazing views of the ocean. The only negative was that the bathrooms were small and a little awkward.
The breakfast every morning had plenty of choices with hot and cold options.
The pool was great and well maintained. There were lots of lounge chairs, and we never felt crowded.
We were a little concerned about getting down to the beach but the shuttle worked out really well. It runs every hour and makes 2 stops, downtown and Langosta Beach Club.
We did discover there's a dirt path in front of the hotel which leads down to the beach. We walked it several times (only during the day). Took about 10-15 minutes, it's about 1km. Its still hilly, but much more doable than the REALLY hilly street.
All in all, and great stay! And looking forward to coming back!

exerything especially the cleanliness was perfect for the stay except the last couple hours when someone stoled my guests wallet containing credit cards and ID. Within in one hour of checkout the thief was making three different location purchases in Santa Cruz, one hour away from Tamirado, totaling over $250, The bank stopped and deacatived cards, insurance protection will possiblly cover purchase loss. the cash $200 and Costa Rica ID will not be recovered. The only person that we know was the coffee/bar counter lady who arrived 10:55 to account for bar consumption. A great stay was tarnished by the resulting loss. ALAN HUDSON

Primera vez en el lugar, y definitivamente no será la última.

Está a 10 minutos en carro del centro, pero ofrecen transporte gratuito ida y vuelta.

La piscina y el restaurante están muy bien, además nos encantó que el happy hour es por dos horas, bastante bien para pasar la tarde en la propiedad.

Tienen muchos servicios y actividades, así que se pueden hacer buenos planes para la estancia.

La noche que fuimos había música en vivo, pero no estoy seguro si es siempre.

El personal es muy amable, creo que eso es siempre lo que resalta en un lugar.

Our stay went very well. Easy and quick check in and check out. A lot of options at breakfast. The shuttle to downtown and the beach runs every hour and is very convenient since the hotel is up a steep hill. The building seems to be a little old but we had no issues. The AC and Wifi worked fine. Access to the beach club is also great since they have chairs you can use.

We loved our stay here! Such a beautiful property - the views were stunning!! Took advantage of the shuttle each day, super easy, no problem. Beach club was great amenity to take advantage of as well. We ate dinner at restaurant one night, meal was great. Breakfast every morning was delicious as well, lots of options! Beautiful property. One of the best views I’ve ever been provided outside on a deck was at Wyndham Tamarindo. I appreciate how it is more “isolated” up on a hill, yet still very walkable/5 minute drive from everything in Tamarindo. The restaurant “Caviar” had very delicious options for food. Their complimentary breakfast was much appreciated and lovely as well. Pretty great options in variety and much appreciated in the morning. Overall, my stay was great and the staff were helpful/friendly whenever I encountered a few problems. I personally would stay here again or recommend this place to a friend/family member.

The overall stay had several positive aspects, including an amazing view, excellent shuttle service, and enjoyable breakfast amenities. The staff we interacted with were courteous and helpful, which we greatly appreciated.

Room cleanliness and maintenance were below expectations. The remote and light switches were visibly dirty, the floor had leftover food crumbs, and no facial tissue box was provided. Only one coffee cup was available for a two-guest room, and it was wet and stained.

There were also issues reaching room service- non functional number. We were asked to try at 11AM and then again asked for 2PM. Front desk could not assist.

The staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The property was kept clean and the outdoor pool was gorgeous with an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. There is also a bar at the pool. Meals were good and the staff was concerned that your needs were met. The shuttle going to the Langosta Beach Club and to downtown was definately needed being situated on the mountain. I would definately go back and stay again. Had a great time!

I never write reviews, but felt I had to for my stay at Wyndham Tamarindo. The staff is not properly trained to provide customer service in the hospitality industry. There is no gym on the premises, you will need to take a shuttle or walk to The Langosta Beach Club to use their gym. The water kept running out. We had to quickly take showers to ensure we did not run out of water. The TV only worked with 2 remotes. One remote was for the volume and the other to change the channels. They also ran out towels. We had to use pool towels. There were also bugs in the bed. I will say that the aesthetic of the hotel was nice, but the service was subpar.

A literal gem in Tamarindo! Outstanding view of the ocean, infinity pool and breakfast in the same area. Also I’m writing this after our trip to CR, and I gotta say the only place that served “real” ceviche (real raw fish) is their restaurant. And the olla de res is amazing! Our room had an A/C leak but the maintenance crew came within 5 mins after I called them.

U can absolutely not go wrong wit the Wyndham .. hotel lobby and pool along with the view are enough to make u stay there and not leave for the beach.

Beautiful property on a hill with infinity pool overseeing the ocean! All ocean view rooms, amazing breakfast each day and access to a great beach front club with gym, pool, beach. The club is however at a a different location than the main property and the hotel provides with hourly transport to and fro. The rooms are dated and bathrooma rather small and old.

Let me say I was disappointed with the room. I had to report a ceiling fan that kept clicking in the middle of the night. The chairs on the balcony had a netting that was falling apart, they replaced it with a steel chair, that wobbled. The door you had to pull rather hard for it to shut properly. People would leave their room service plate outside their door. It would last about a day to a day and a half.

Now the breakfast that was included used powdered eggs, the sausage was dry, the rice was hard. When all said and done they did give us a ride to the airport.

2 bulbs were out in room lighting fixtures and one of the bedside wall receptacles was pushed through the wall. All were fixed in a timely manner by hotel maintenance staff. We had a pleasant stay and all of the staff were welcoming and friendly.

The view from the balcony and pool is amazing although there are a few areas that the hotel could improve.
The room aesthetics could improve. There was nowhere to sit but the balcony. No iron/microwave in the room and the closet lacked doors.
I understand the decision to serve authentic Costa Rican food at the breakfast buffet but a variety of other foods could make it a bit better and tasteful.
It was great to have shuttle transportation and all the drivers were super friendly! If the shuttle ran roundtrip all day that would make it better. It only ran for the first 15 mins of every hour. There were times we were done with our walk in town and had to wait for a good 20 mins for the shuttle.

Extremely expensive for what you get. 1st come 1st serve for shuttle and hard to access the city by walk (uphill). Allowing guests to smoke in the pool. Hotel and amenities falling apart (not well kept or maintained). Drinks majorly diluted. Had curdle milk in my coffee, was told by staff that was normal and we're adamant on not changing it. Completely dismissed for 375$ a night we we're expecting alot more. I would rate this hotel a 2-3 star max.

Amazing stay and the friendliest staff! The view from both the to and the infinity pool is unbeatable and makes it a benefit of not staying right on the beach. The only downfall was that the shuttle ends at 9PM so if you’re out late you would have to walk uphill back to the hotel or find a different ride. Would definitely still recommend though!
