Great ocean and sunset views from pool. Other than that the rooms are a bit dated. Basic amenities are missing - iron, ironing board, extra chair/furniture in room. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was decent. Good for a basic stay if you're just going to be at the hotel to sleep.

The view from the balcony and pool is amazing although there are a few areas that the hotel could improve.
The room aesthetics could improve. There was nowhere to sit but the balcony. No iron/microwave in the room and the closet lacked doors.
I understand the decision to serve authentic Costa Rican food at the breakfast buffet but a variety of other foods could make it a bit better and tasteful.
It was great to have shuttle transportation and all the drivers were super friendly! If the shuttle ran roundtrip all day that would make it better. It only ran for the first 15 mins of every hour. There were times we were done with our walk in town and had to wait for a good 20 mins for the shuttle.

Extremely expensive for what you get. 1st come 1st serve for shuttle and hard to access the city by walk (uphill). Allowing guests to smoke in the pool. Hotel and amenities falling apart (not well kept or maintained). Drinks majorly diluted. Had curdle milk in my coffee, was told by staff that was normal and we're adamant on not changing it. Completely dismissed for 375$ a night we we're expecting alot more. I would rate this hotel a 2-3 star max.

Amazing stay and the friendliest staff! The view from both the to and the infinity pool is unbeatable and makes it a benefit of not staying right on the beach. The only downfall was that the shuttle ends at 9PM so if you’re out late you would have to walk uphill back to the hotel or find a different ride. Would definitely still recommend though!

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed at and I travel often enough. Beautiful view of tamarindo beach from the infinity pool, staff is so friendly and accommodating(we got a sunburn and they let us trim some of the hotel aloe for use lol)

Rooms are clean and each comes with a balcony view of the beach. Breakfast is free and super tasty, a buffet. Didn’t use the spa but they have have deals those too!

If you’re going for the views & the pool - it’s a great hotel. With that said the rooms need a full renovation. The AC leaks, the bathroom is very run down and the room has no furniture (other than a bed). The rooms are not great. Also - locals crash the pool (especially at sun set) and the hotel doesn’t do anything about it - making chairs sometimes hard to get. The AM breakfast was good though.

We really enjoyed the pool area and the views were beautiful. Every room has an ocean view which was a big plus. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the shuttle service was amazing and very convenient. The pool was never overcrowded which made it easy to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

On the downside, the wifi did not work for our entire stay, which was very frustrating. For a four star hotel, the rooms feel outdated and do not seem to have been upgraded in quite some time. The poor wifi was the biggest disappointment and really took away from the experience.

Overall, great views and service, but the rooms and internet need serious improvement to match the hotel’s rating.

We had a wonderful stay at the Widman. Everything was very clean, and the staff was extremely professional and friendly. The pool was fantastic, breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere was amazing. We also felt very safe throughout our stay. Overall, a very nice place that we would happily visit again.

We ordered can service to the airport from a service provided by Wyndham at this location they put us in the incorrect cab service the guy tried to leave us on the side of the street because he wasn’t being paid since we had paid the guys at Wyndham we were scared I tried calling Wyndham multiple times to try and fix the situation and no answer only received email apologizing for the mistake barely made it to the flight after guy finally decided to take us to the airport

During my stay, I unpacked my backpack in my hotel room to remove a number of personals as we were heading to do one of the rainforest day tours. I left behind in my room my corporate iPhone, a pair of prescription eyeglasses and a pair of sunglasses. Had reached out to the Front Desk via phone and email numerous times without a response. They only responded almost two weeks later because I contacted Wyndham Corporate. The lack of communication for these coveted valuables is extremely unacceptable, especially over such an extended period of time, which is leading me to suspect that foul play is involved here. Be careful with your valuables here is my warning…..

The room cleaning was very poor; they only changed the bath towels every two days, but they didn't change the sheets at all during our week-long stay, and they never picked up the hair in the bathroom. The breakfast wasn't good. The views from the hotel were the best thing about it.

I do not have an upcoming stay at wyndham. I arrived on the 12th, was placed in a disgustingly filthy room with urine stains on the mattress, crumbs and hair on the bed, and bugs in the room. I was placed in a second room that had 8 bugs crawling on my pillows. Nothing was done to help me and we left at midnight forcing us to find another hotel for the night at midnight. I will never recommend your hotel to anyone ever again and plan to post several bad reviews with the photos of bugs and disgustingness of the rooms. I am livid with this hotel and the way things were handled. Being forced to find a new hotel in a foreign county at midnight on my birthday was not what i expected when i chose to stay at a hotel with a known name such as the wyndham.

The whole place was spotless and staff were wonderful. Usually we stay close to the water but in tamarindo that means being in the noisier part of town. So we opted for this place and used their shuttle to go back and forth. Loved the tranquility, the views of the ocean and the visit from the group of monkeys right at eye level off the back deck. We will definitely be back!

The room is ok it was clean but the bathroom is very basic below a Wyndham property the sink was a basic porcelain sink no space for tooth brush even. No counter or cupboards. The pool was great the staff were very nice the view is amazing. Breakfast was decent. The Langosta beach club is decent I used the gym very small but sufficient. The pool is nice not very many loungers so first come first serve .

Absolutely stunning property! The infinity pool was amazing with its view of the Pacific Ocean. We are so thrilled to have found this location. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had a rattling AC in our room. We called up as we were heading out to dinner and by the time we got back it was all fixed. Every room has an ocean front balcony. This really made our trip great.

Beautiful view. Pool is awesome! Shuttle service every hr down the hill and back. Hotel guests get Access to the Beach club/bar was awesome! Langusta I think it's called. Very clean. Friendly staff. The restaurant was great and had live music for dinner. Can connect your prime or Netflix to watch before bed on the TV. The only thing I could say negative is for the price of the stay there should be a hotel shuttle service to and from the airport. If you don't book ahead you will pay 150 USD for a ride to the hotel..... Luckily I found another group going to tamarindo and we split the bill. So book ahead or ask people at baggage claim to split a ride with you.

The hotel did not return our deposit. There is a separate room credit one can open if one wants to charge the expenses from restaurants or bar to the room, we did that and paid the balance at the checkout but they did not return the initial deposit. After contacting the front desk they apologized and said it is now refunded but unfortunately it is not the case.
For anyone booking a room at this hotel, keep your receipts, you may need them in case of doing a chargeback with your bank.

This was our second stay at the hotel, and while the views remain absolutely amazing, there are some areas that require attention. The front desk staff, tour staff, and shuttle service were all very approachable, pleasant, and courteous, which made a positive impression throughout our stay.

Unfortunately, cleanliness and service consistency were lacking. Room cleaning was sub-par and needs to be addressed, as greater attention to detail is clearly required. The pool area also requires maintenance—several tiles are broken or falling off, and we witnessed multiple children getting minor cuts, which is concerning.

Breakfast was the most disappointing aspect of the stay. The quality, variety, and overall service need improvement. While the manager was pleasant and receptive, the hostess was not welcoming initially, and the breakfast service overall requires a thorough review.

This hotel has great potential and an incredible location, but improved attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and breakfast service is essential to meet expectations.

There are a lot of hidden fees you need to be aware of with this hotel. Each transaction had a 13% credit card fee and then a 10% service fee and then VAT. Prices shown are not including all these extra fees so makes it a surprise on check-out.

Jairo the concierge was amazingly helpful and hooked us up with two of the best meals we’ve ever had! Bryan at the front desk and the rest of the front desk. Staff spoke perfect English. The structure itself is Glow Ing white and stunning. Everybody is so accommodating. The rooms are wonderful. The breakfast buffet is out of this world.

The only good thing about this hotel was the infinity pool. The food was limited and bland. I was shocked by the quality of food for a tourist spot. They had a Christmas buffet for $85 that was so limited and unimpressive. I just decided on room service. The breakfast had one breakfast meat and few options.The hotel needs upgrades. My bathroom shower was broken. The rooms are incredibly small with very few amenities. The staff was not friendly except for the cleaning lady. Check in was crowded un unorganized. This hotel was definitely not worth the price. I should have chose better!

We stayed 2 nights, the first day breakfast- no syrup for pancakes- they ran out of it. Christmas day breakfast- nothing special, same spread from the previous day, infact they went short- no yoghurt. Seems to be a silly excuse for such an enterprise. We requested an iron which was not available. Service staff seems to be less courteous-our other stays in Costa Rica- staff were warm and friendly so it was quite surprising to see this reception - shuttle service was great. Pool had nice views

This is a really nice hotel for the Tamarindo area. Great staff and service. The shuttle service was important because of the location on a steeper hill. Walking down is no problem, but it's a bit of a hike going up...great for a good leg workout.
Rooms are nice and all have ocean views overlooking Tamarindo and the pool.
The pool is really nice and big, and the restaurant is also a nice option.
Breakfast could have a little more variety from day to day, but overall good.
You also have access to the Langosta Beach Club on Tamarindo beach, which the shuttle drops off and picks up at.
We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful and peaceful property, infinity pool is a dream! All rooms have beautiful ocean view with balcony. There is shuttle every hour to taramindo downtown (otherwise a 15 minute walk up/down a steep hill, good workout!), and free entrance to langosta beach club!
Food at the restaurant was surprisingly impressive. The seafood risotto was probably the best I have had outside Italy.

We stayed her four nights in November and it was wonderful! We could literally see the ocean from our bed. The free breakfast was expansive and delicious and it was so nice that it ran four hours of the morning. We utilized the shuttle numerous times and that was also terrific and so handy bc it came hourly. We spent every afternoon at the beach club, that you have access to bc you are a Wyndham guest. The pool was wonderful and the views were just amazing. The sunsets were unreal.
