The staff were very helpful. They advised us on how to get to Venice and back and supplied transport tickets.
Breakfast although a cold buffet was plentiful and tasty.
The room was very small but everything worked.
A secure luggage room would benefit guests who wish to leave the hotel later than check out times.

My experience at this hotel was terrible. I arrived at the hotel and encountered an arrogant person at the reception. When I booked the hotel on Expedia, I made sure to pay for a room with a twin bed, but when I arrived, they gave me a very small bed meant for a child. The receptionist was not helpful at all and didn’t even want to listen to me; he blamed Expedia and everyone else around.

I work in the tourism industry, and we often offer clients package deals with hotel stays included, and we make many bookings through Expedia. But this situation frustrated me greatly, and it might be the last time I use Expedia’s services. This is PURE SCAM — why would you use the word “twin” when the bed is extremely small, basically a child's bed?

Hotel Venezia is in a great location for transport restaurants and some shopping
The rooms are very dated and there is no fridge but the staff at reception were happy to place my food in their fridge
The staff are great one in particular was amazing I forgot his name he showed us how to get around and what to do
There is a market in Mestre on Wednesday and Fridays
I didn’t feel safe at night as there was limited Italian people around and more of Bangladesh people and it was dominated by males (at night) (I’m only saying this as I was a female with my son)
Overall though it was ok

We stayed here 18 years ago and not much has changed in terms of bedding/decor. There have been some updates as one of our rooms had a new bathroom while the other one was original, but same bedspreads and curtains from our first visit. It was clean. Breakfast and service were very good.

The hotel check in staff was arrogant and not helpful. The worst part of this hotel was the bed! I may be permanently injured.
The wait staff in the breakfast area was friendly and did an amazing job cleaning and restocking.
The manager would not turn on the A/C even though the temperature was in the 80’s. Which forced you to keep the window open, and then the mosquitoes attacked.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the front desk staff explained exactly how to get into Venice, an easy tram ride (stop very close to hotel) and water bus ride about 15-20 minutes away in total. The room was clean but the beds weren’t very comfortable as they were very hard. The air conditioning was great, black out curtains on the windows and my son said the cot was quite comfortable. We had a bathtub with shower which was great. The breakfast was very large with plenty of options.

I liked the friendly staff, the proximity to public transport, a shopping centre nearby and good dining options in the vicinity. When i got off the airport shuttle bus, I felt the street was dodgy and a bit sketchy however where the hotel was was better. The bathroom is TINY and water gets everywhere when showering, even into the room, causing a slip hazard. The breakfast room was good. The photos were accurate, but didn't translate the stale smell in the toom.

This hotel is nice. They offered a superb breakfast. It is close to the bust station. We could go to the airport by bus, also to Venezia. In Italy most people use videte, our was in the shower, but I mentioned I wasn't comfortable about it and they gave me a bigger room that had a better bathroom. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly, specially Nicola. He helped us getting our train tickets and also a taxi.

Old fashioned service

We enjoyed the old fashioned service and respect provided by the staff. We enjoyed free parking on the day we left the hotel so we could go into Venice by public transport. The breakfast buffet had many choices and the elegant room was spotless and comfortable. It was impossible to prevent the shower from spraying onto the floor and the room was not completely soundproof but neither of these affected our stay. Thank you to the staff who were very helpful.

The staff at the hotel both at reception and breakfast are very helpful. Breakfast is contitinental and sufficient.
The downside to this hotel are the paper thin walls and lack of soundproofing, this coupled with guests who have no hotel etiquate, gives way to lack of sleep. If you are not a light sleeper or use ear plugs im sure you will have a great stay.

We like Mestre.

Nice hotel, very helpful staff. Room was a little tired, but not a problem. We got a balcony, which was a nice bonus. Hotel well placed for buses and trams into Venice, and handy for town centre shops and eating out.

Pleasant hotel which was quite easy to find from T2 tram. Well decorated with nice reception area.
Room allocated was of good size, quiet but generally too warm and unable to cool.
Breakfast looked good but cornflakes and filter coffee were the worst I have ever tasted.

The location is great, much better than overpriced and overcrowded Venice. There are plenty of transport options within a 5 min walk that will get you to Venice in 20 mins and there is a plaza with lovely restaurants right behind it. There's a shopping centre 1 min away. You can even buy 24hr or 48hr public transport tickets at the hotel.

Now, it was confusing as an experience. There's plenty of character in the hotel: old style details everywhere, a quite nice lounging area downstairs and even a quirky lift.

There is NO soundproofing so I could hear people in the hallway and in the bedrooms next to mine, and I think I heard when people flushed the toilets. The room was fine as a solo traveller but the ensuite would be a bit small for someone larger. Good A/C and plenty of mirrors but I didn't open the window as it overlooked another building and the hairdryer was as old as the decor.

There is no water however drinking tap water is fine. You'll need your own bottle though. Vending machines are coins only.

Breakfast was good, some complain there's no cooked/hot items but after staying at other places I think this is simply the Italian style.

The staff was very helpful and gave me all the information related to transport options as well as safety tips for a solo female traveller.

Overall, very flamboyant but simple at the same time.

We stayed here as a family of 4 for just two nights in order to spend a full day in Venice. Parking was easy and convenient right on property (our car was behind a fence which felt very safe). There was an elevator to get our luggage to an upper floor room. The trolly and bus stops for the 20 minute trip into Venice was a 5 minute walk and the hotel sold the transport pass (25 Euros per person) that covered the trolley or bus into Venice plus the water buses that get you around Venice and the nearby islands. Our first evening we walked to the plaza right across the street from the hotel which had a nice atmosphere including many restaurants and shops; this was an unexpected surprise of staying at the Hotel Venezia.
The room was small but accommodated us and our luggage and the bathroom was clean with a nice shower. Breakfast (included with our room) each morning in the hotel dining room was a treat with an assortment of croissants, cereal and yoghurt, bread/meats/cheeses, and a cappuccino/express machine.
The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful to us in planning our evening in Mestre and our day in Venice.

This hotel was built in 1605, it is well maintained and very clean. The style is very Venetian. Breakfast is a European style and filling. Parking is right across the street the public access is close, with 1 train 4L right into Venice for €3.00. The front desk is helpful in navigating the busses and trams. Housekeeping cleans the room daily. Its a great value hotel with high amenities for the price. Definitely recommend. I stay in hotels 60+ nights a year.

Charming hotel in Mestre close to shopping and restaurants. Close to the bus and tram that takes you to Venice in 15 minutes. Very convenient! Free parking right outside the hotel. The toilets are very clean with clean neat towels. The rooms are clean as well but the furniture are old. The most exciting thing about the hotel is the buffet breakfast, they give variety of options which is exceptional from most hotels i have visited. Its proximity to the central metro station makes it convenient to commute to and from venice easily. I will definitely stay there next time i visit venice/mestre..

Great location with lots to do around the area. We went for the Venice Carnival which was about a ten minute bus drive from a nearby bus station. The front desk sells round trip tickets for your convenience. Free parking right next to the hotel is a huge plus.

Excellent location, minutes from the bus/tram to Venice. Free parking is a big bonus as it’s very expensive. Round trip bus pass was 3euros at the front desk. We were able to leave our bags/car after checking out so we could spend the day in Venice. The buffet was limited, however, we like the option to grab something on our way out the door. Staff was very friendly, the room was small, but comfortable. You can hear noise from your neighboring room, but it didn’t keep us from sleeping. Would definitely stay here again, this hotel has a lot of charm and it’s a great value for the money!

Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff

Great staff who new their stuff nothing was too much trouble. Great hotel with easy access into Venice and the fact that we could by our travel tickets directly from the hotel made things even easier. The beds were very comfortable and we had a lovely balcony that we could sit out on at the end of a long day.

It’s close to Venice but would not stay again

The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are equally small. The breakfast buffet was fine basic European continental breakfast no hot food cold cuts baked goods yogurt etc. Parking is available but the lot is also very small the valet is best at this location but I had a problem with housekeeping throwing away an ice pack which contained my insulin. I find that there was no reason for that to happen the trauma it caused was spoiled the visit to Venice and why a low rating for this review. The front desk host contacted the owner he got a hold of the pharmacy to replace the insulin which the hotel paid the cost. So the problem was solved but this was a lucky break that we traveled with all the information to get this replaced or the consequences were that I would have ended up in the hospital because of the huge mistake by the housekeeping staff. I would not stay there again nor could I recommend staying at this location

Nice hotel at a decent price compared to Venice ! The family room for 4, although a bit small for 2 parents and 2 big children, was well equipped and kept spotless every day. The continental breakfast was plenty to start the day. The staff at the reception was welcoming and helpful. It is conveniently located in the centre of Mestre, with good restaurants, shops and transport links - 20 min away from Venice by tram and Marco Polo Airport by taxi. Would recommend to family and friends for a short break in expensive Venice.

The location is good, gust to direct transport to Venice and airport. Personal was very polite and helpful. The breakfast was nice, there is everything you need, service is on good level. If you wonder ether to book in Venice or in Mestre, compare price - quality for me it's deserve to book in Mestre. The prices are mach lower and the city is very closed, 15 min with transport (which is every 5 min and almost 24 h) and very charm for a walk.

Not the best stay.

Walls are so thin you can hear conversations from the people in the next room clear as a be. The bed was uncomfortable.. breakfast was not the best. No scrambled eggs or bacon. Was disappointing at the price we paid.
