An excellent place to stay in La Spezia! Central in old town, but quick walk to train station & also to bus stop to Porto Venere (Mercato Nord). 2 supermarkets & the town's huge fish & food market, within 1 minute walk. Very good communication pre checkin, actual person available at checkin, who was very helpful (there from midday, until I think 7pm) which also enables luggage storage. Very comfortable bed (not too hard!) & pillows. Building has a lift, yay. Fridge, kettle, coffee maker with decent coffee. Terrific shower with instant hot water. Tastefully decorated room, with chairs whose design enables them to double as tables. Our room was on 2nd floor facing an inner courtyard garden, so it was very quiet.

We booked the Deluxe Room # 1. One small double bed and sofa bed, (ask them to set it) with many pillows but not really comfortable and a small functioning bathroom. Great coffee around the corner at Caffe Garabaldi.
There is one plastic card for the room, one key for access to the rooms on the 4th floor and one front door key - all on one key ring. The door card also operates the power to the room so that when you go out to bring back a morning
coffee, you wife is left in darkness until you return.
Regretfully I behaved badly and removed the corridor and front door key leaving the room in place allowing my wife to at least read (or dry her hair after a shower).
My advice is to trade up to the Junior suite or book in to a 4 star hotel if you're used to a modest level of comfort.
Check in was fine, if you're arriving by train turn left out of the station, walk 200m downhill til you reach the crossing with lights. Walk across and after 100m turn left to approach Garabaldi Plaza in 200m. You can find your way to Via Napoli from there easily (another 100m)

The room was spacious and conveniently located, but the property could really use a cosmetic refresh — chipped paint, worn finishes, and some dated details make it feel a bit tired. It’s also very difficult to find parking nearby, so I’d recommend booking parking in advance. There are no designated spots for drop-off, which makes unloading luggage quite challenging. Overall, functional for a short stay, but not the most comfortable arrival experience.

The rooms are nice in terms of having a little kitchen area and even a washer. The rooms are all contained in one little area, so downside is you can hear someone coming in and out that main door so it’s a little loud. Also it can be a be difficult to find as the rooms are in a different location, 2 different keys, open 3 different doors etc. overall decent stay

Check in was smooth and the staff were very friendly. There is no room service but plenty of space for 3 people to hang towels. The bar fridge was very small which made it a little difficult to keep drinks refrigerated on hot days. The hotel is close to La Spezia Centrale which made it super easy to get to the Cinque Terre. Also lots of food options and super markets nearby.

The property is only good for a person who is mobile. There is a small elevator for one person however if you’re claustrophobic it may not well suited. When you open the unit you have 4 independent rooms with own bathroom. It’s relatively quiet. Location was good and near the train station. Lots of dining options. I didn’t like how four adults were crammed into a room and there was only coffee for one night. I spent 2 nights there. I think it’s good for 2 people who are mobile. The staff are super - great communication. I would stay there again if it was with 1 person.

This was not what we expected at all. I thought this was near 5 Terre and within walking distance to the beaches. This was not the case at all. Beach access is via train and not convenient when travelling with a family. The unit itself was fine, the area outside was not nice. Maybe this was my own fault, however if you are booking here with the expectation that it is near 5 Terre, let this be your warning to find somewhere else.

Loved my stay here for 3 nights. It was extremely clean and spacious along with close proximity to La Spezia Centrale. Made it easy to hop on are off the trains to Cinque Terre everyday. I was really impressed with the room and it was very clean also. The staff was just oh so kind and helpful. We took the ferry to see Cinque Terre and it was only a 10 minutes walk to the pier. Close to all restaurants and shops. The building with the rooms was very secure and had an elevator. So yes, I would strongly recommend Atmosphere Guest House😁👍👍👍👍👍

Enjoyed 2 nights at the beautiful Atmosfere Guesthouse, and can’t recommend it enough. Check in was easy and super friendly, they even sent a follow up message the next morning to see if I needed anything!
The little apartment was fresh, very clean, spacious, well equipped and super comfy bed! I’m on a longer trip and really appreciated a kettle and tea, as well as the lovely little kitchenette. But the icing on the cake was a small but efficient clothes washer, with detergent!!! After 3 weeks on the road hand washing, this was such a treat.
La Spezia is a lovely little town, still very authentic, and excellent starting point for Cinque Terra. I can’t recommend both the town and Atmosfere enough.

Experience will probably depend on what room you get. Ours was basically a dorm room convert. It was not clean. Balls of hair on the ground and bed sheets. Mold/mildew in the shower. Sliding door to bathroom would not close all the way. Air conditioner was weak and did not cool down the room. The small refrigerator (only appliance in the room) did not work well, and we ended up just throwing sandwiches out to be safe. I’m glad we only needed to stay two nights to hike Cinque Terre. There is no staff by the way. Just a detached office one street over that checks you in and takes payment. The absolute worst stay of our whole trip through Italy.

PROS: The location was perfect, only 10 minutes away from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpfull, they kept our luggage after the check out. Really clean big room I highly recommand.

This place was nice and was a good location. It is one street over from all the restaurants and is about an 11 minute walk from the train station. Only thing I would say is that they don’t have bathroom counter space really so an extra self near the sink would be better but I personally don’t mind having no counter and just bringing my things back to my bag.

This is not a hotel; the lodging consists of many different apartments in the La Spezia area. Parking is about a half mile away in public parking. So, you show up at the \"hotel\" and they check you in; thereafter, they tell you where to go in the town to find your apartment. The good news is that the apartment came with a washer, a full-sized refrigerator, a stove, pans, dishes, etc. So, we would visit the local fish market, get incredibly fresh fish and pasta, and then prepare an A dinner. Our apartment was near a local grocery store, so we were able to purchase all sorts of necessaries. The apartment was also walking distance to the ferry terminal where we caught the ferry to the various towns of Cinque Terre. So, if you want to visit Cinque Terre and you have a car, consider staying in La Spezia and getting one of these apartments. You can also walk around La Spezia which is safe, with lots of restaurants, and picturesque. Moreover, you can see Cinque Terre from the water via ferry. I wasn't sure what to expect with the \"hotel\" but it worked out great. I would stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Design Suite, Atmosfere Guest House. Check in was easy and the staff were all really friendly and helpful throughout. Communication with staff via WhatsApp during our stay meant any questions we had were answered fully and promptly.

The location was fantastic, very close to the train station for day trips to Cinque Terre etc, but also very close to many shops and restaurants. Despite this proximity we never heard outside noise when inside the property. It is also a short walk to a great play park and the marina.
The only thing we didn’t enjoy about the apartment was our upstairs neighbours who were very noisy late into the evening. I’m not sure whether they were particularly noisy or whether the ceiling was just insufficiently sound proofed but it impacted our sleep during our stay.
That said we would still highly recommend Atmosfere Guest House to anybody looking to stay in La Spezia.

The location is about an 8 minute walk from the main train station (on flat ground) and is very central to lots of shops and restaurants. The room also has strong air conditioner which was necessary in the hot summer!
