We had a truly wonderful stay. The location is ideal as a base for exploring the Cinque Terre: the train station is right next door, and the old town of La Spezia begins practically at the doorstep. Perfectly connected yet pleasantly quiet.
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and always available, you immediately feel welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, modernly furnished, and excellently soundproofed. The cleanliness and the meticulous care taken throughout the entire property are particularly noteworthy.

Excellent stay. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Centrale Station and just two blocks from the marina where ferries depart, making incredibly easy to reach the Cinque Terre. The property was spotless, well maintained, and felt very comfortable. Breakfast is such a nice touch and was much appreciated. What really stood out was the staff; friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the stay. I would absolutely choose this hotel again over any name-brand option.

Beautiful hotel in the best location, just a few steps from the train station. Recently renovated over a year and a half ago, the location is residential so it’s extremely quiet. Fantastic amenities, an excellent breakfast and the staff are very knowledgeable and truly friendly. If you’re looking for peace without being in a crowded area, this is the perfect choice. Very central and within walking distance of everything.

Amazing boutique hotel with impeccable amenities, great location (100m from train station to Cinque Terre), and wonderful service from all the staff. The hotel was clean, excellent location, near the main roads and attractions locations, even near the stops of sightseeing buses. The staff are very friendly, they didn't hesitate to explain and give information right at the moment when we arrived and checked in, and during our stay they were very helpful to make reservations upon request, arrange transfers and give advice where to go and how to make the best of our stay. The room is big, very clean and super comfortable, true modern European style! The breakfast was also very good. We felt pampered and enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel and everything was above my expectations since arriving until leaving.

The location is ideal for visiting La Spezia and the Cinque Terre, with a Carrefour just around the corner and bus/tram stops right outside for easy connections. A big advantage is that the hotel is just outside the ZTL and offers on-site parking, which made arriving by car completely stress-free.

Fantastic location. The staff are so helpful, attentive, warm and friendly. We received a generous upgraded room at check in and were also delivered a welcome gift of fruit and sweet and savoury snacks/treats brought to our room just after we arrived. We had a fabulous stay at Cinque Terre Gateway! Michael went above and beyond to help us. We had a hiccup with our parking, called him on WhatsApp and he took care of calling the parking garage and getting the issue resolved. He was on his way out and spotted us pulling our luggage and introduced himself. He then helped with our luggage and getting us settled and oriented to the city. He recommended some fabulous things to do in the area including 2 wineries. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay in LaSpezia/Cinque Terre. Perfect location with lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Be sure and include breakfast in your stay. Wonderful caffe with great coffee, juice and pastries. FYI: Can also book direct with the hotel.

I recommend you to double before paying the city tax because they charged us the double amount. In theory they have made a refund but it’s been a month already, and we still haven’t received it. Great accomodation in the centre of La Spezia. There is a carrefour express just below which is convenient and the train station is less than 5 mins walk away. The shopping street with stores and restaurants just beside. Inside a vintage building and vintage small lift but the room has a modern look.
Only bad thing to say is about parking. When booking it mentions parking available. However they only message you 2-3 days before with instructions to book. Most parking is booked by then. Luckily I was able to find street parking near by.

The room itself is very large but the bathroom is small and the shower is extremely small its so hard to fit in especially for anyone over 5\"11 and 190 pounds. There also isnt anyone on the property to help you check in.. Our room was not cleaned our first nught but housekeeping came in and opened the windows and it had been raining all day so our clothes got extremely damp and the bed was wet from the rain. It took several attempts to get them to come and finish cleaning the room. If your looking for a room close to the train station its a 3-4 minute walk which was perfect!

The location of this hotel is very convenient to the train station, restaurants and some shopping. The instructions to check in were very easy to understand and follow. The main doors into the building were amazing. When we walked through the courtyard, it felt a little sketchy… kind of worn down and in disrepair. However when we got to the block of rooms run by Cinque Terra Gateway, it was very nicely remodeled and extremely clean. Overall, it was a great stay.

We went Dec 25-27 so the offfice (which is in the same hallway as our room) was closed but they were available via WhatsApp 24/7. Security (keypad entry) was very good since there were 2 entrance points into that hallway. And the 3rd one was a card key into our room which securely put in a lockbox outside the room door.

Very noisy in the morning. Doors from others slammed shut constantly. Our linens were dirty. Had a dried blood stain on our sheets 😫 did not come from us. Beautiful apartment. Our mistake for not researching site as we assumed it was a hotel (by the name). Signage terrible - but that is Italybas a whole. The number 15 for address was on building as was the plaque that said “Gateway to Cinque Terra” but the building was under construction so scaffolding and netting covering entrance. The 3 minute walk ended up being an hour an a half. I guess if we,’d realized it was not a hotel, but an apartment we would not have been mislead. Overall, though, once we were there it was a lovely place to be stationed at to see Cinque Terra. We took a ferry next day to Monterosso and walked over the mountain to Venazza! A real workout and beautiful views and scenery from the top!

This property is a B&B located in an old building. To get inside, you have to ring the doorbell (the name on the door bell is named 'Cinque Terre Bridge' which was confusing. Since it's located on the 3rd floor, we had t use the tiny old elevator (the one that you have to open/close the doors manually). It was really weird to go through all of this. Also you have to check in before 7:30pm or you'll be charged EUR75.
Anyway, check in was a breeze and the room is very clean and looks luxurious. Everything about the room and bathroom is about the nicest thing you can find in a 5-star hotel.
Breakfast was not that great. No buffet breakfast compared to other hotels. You have to go out to the adjacent Elite Cafe to get your breakfast by presenting the coupons. You will get coffee, juice and a cornetto.
However I cannot give a higher rating because I felt cheated. I thought the bathrobes and slippers are free to use (as in a 5-star hotel). I did not notice any signs that says I will be charged EUR15 to use the bathrobes and slippers. If I had seen the sign, I would never use them since there's no reason to use them at all. Maybe the sign fell flat on the shelf who knows. Because of this, I was charged upon checkout.

Tight schedule
We only stayed one night as we had to drive to the next location the next day with tight schedule. But the check in time at this place is very specific which means we did not have the flexibility to arrive, check in and leave our bags to then do Cinque Terre really quickly. We had to leave everything in the car (La Spezia feels a little dodgy even though nothing happened) and we visited two to three places and then had to go back to check in and then visit some other places. All in all a bit of a faff! Otherwise the room was clean and the outsourced breakfast although not ideal suited our needs.

Maybe this is normal for small European hotel. I was surprise when I found out the hotel only has 6 rooms and occupy only 1/4 of the 3rd floor in the residential building. But after we enter the room, it didn't bother us anymore, the interior was newly renovated, clean, modern and comfortable. It comes with a sofa bed, so the room is big enough to fit 3 adults, or 2 adults with 2 kids. They won't supply fresh tower unless you pay a little extra, it was like 3 Euro a day or something. They have coffee machine and filter water with lemons in the hallway which you share with the other guests. The location of the hotel is great, only a few minutes walk from the La Spezia Central station and 13 minutes walk from the pier.

We had an excellent stay at the Cinque Terre Gateway. The hotel room was large and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and water.
The hotel is very close to the station but about 20 minutes walk down to the port area, but well worth it.
Tip - if you want train tickets get them the night before as the queues can be very long in the morning.

When you arrive it is an old building, but inside it's all beautifully remodeled. Train station is 5 minutes away to go to Cinque Terre. If you drive a car like we did, we had a private parking right around the corner. Parking is extra 20 dollars a day, but it is so worth it. I would stay here again.

We stayed at this lovely hotel which was centrally situated in La Spezia, close to the train station and loads of cafes and restaurants. The Ensuite room was spacious with a double bed and a single sofa bed for our son. The decor looked elegant. Ample linen and toiletries provided. The hallway has a coffee machine and tea facility etc. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of a large building on the square, a short walk from the station and also has an elevator. The breakfast was at a nearby Cafe Elite (vouchers provided) end entitled one to a coffee/ tea, croissant and a juice - while it wasn’t a spread of choices it truly gives you a lovely Italian experience. We were happy with the breakfast as it then left space for a nice Italian lunch! Michael the owner was very helpful and gave great tips. Made the hotel a very homely experience. It was very easy to explore cinque terre as there are regular (at least hourly) trains from La Spezia station.

As advertised, the Cinque Terre Gateway is located minutes from the train station in a very walkable neighbourhood with many fine restaurants. The rooms are large, well appointed rooms with comfy beds. The owner was on hand to greet us when we arrived and we had sightings of him off and on all week. I liked that the Gateway was one floor within a 6 story apartment block, rather than a big hotel. Service is pretty much nonexistent, you come and go as you please and rely on your own wits to get around. I liked that too. The breakfast arrangement with the cafe next door is quite clear. But it sucks. What you get is sweet, sugar filled croissants, juice + coffee. Sure you can 'upgrade' to eggs/bacon, etc for 5 Euro, but who wants that 4 days in a row? Perhaps the owner of the Gateway could negotiate with the Cafe to throw in a little protein (cheese/yogurt?) and real fruit and provide plain croissants.
