The staff are very helpful and friendly at the front desk. I did have to wait over a hour to get towels. The breakfast was ok, only thing was don’t expect to have cold orange juice… you have to add ice . It takes awhile for the elevator as well because the hotel only has two elevators . Besides those minor things it’s fine. The location is good by the subway and Times Square, There are alot of restaurants and you are close (walking distance) to broadway shows. I would stay again.

I regularly book through Hotels.com for my domestic and international travel, as I travel frequently. This hotel by far was THE WORST EXPERIENCE of all the hotels I have stayed at in the last several years. It is located in Times Square. I expected the nightly cost to be more due to its location. However, there is no way that this hotel should have charged in the $400s per night range pre-tax.

On arrival, I checked into a room with 2 queen sized beds. ONE BED HAD BED BUGS!!!! The entire cover of one of the beds had bed bugs. I then went to the lobby to ask to be placed in another room. A few customers in the lobby expressed experiencing other problems resulting from housekeeping errors. The two front desk workers were very kind and doing their best. Yet none was surprised at my account and they simply issued me a new room. I crossed fingers it wasn't a repeat.

I've never left a negative assessment. But this was too much. To have this be the case when NYC was hosting World Cup matches and a big parade for the New York Knicks parade added to the stakes of navigating the city at a crowded time. To not sleep well or feel like I didn't want to spend any time in the room except to get ready was a disappointment. In short, be advised. Read the reviews of others before booking. Or search elsewhere. Good luck.

This hotel gave me a bad experience. First, Expedia showed checkin time at 3pm, which we later found out that the hotel’s checkin time was 4pm (they should update this), so we waited an hour. Mind you, it was very hot and we were sweating and we just wanted to rest in the room. At 4pm, we were told room was not ready yet, so they had us choose a non-city view for the same price of 312 USD, just so we could rest. Receptionist did not apologize, but we let it pass. They gave us another room, and we went there, the cleaner was still vacuuming the room and he did not even apologize and was trying to stop us from talking, saying “no English.” We understood, but staff here did not have proper customer service etiquette. We paid 300 USD, room was dirty, tissues in trash, no fridge, and bad service. Never going back. Please go to the other Holiday Inn Times Square, they are way better.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean though not well maintained. The breakfast was convenient but getting there was very slow on the packed tight elevators. If you’re on a high floor wake up early to get to breakfast to avoid elevator delays. If you’re on a low floor it’s easier to take the stairs, I would ask for a low floor that I can walk next time. The luggage storage was essential to our trip and I was grateful for it. It made me a little nervous that it was in the lobby and just roped off instead of being placed in a back room, but we had no problems with it. The room felt small with 4 people but there was a decent amount of closet and drawer space which was very helpful.

Was in Manhattan for a surgical procedure. When I booked the room it said 2 doubles or a king. There was no where for me to choose. I had a family member with me to help me through the surgery and recovery I definitely wanted 2 separate beds so I called the hotel and he said he put it in my reservation and I was all set for 2 beds. Of course we get there and it’s one king size bed.
I went down to the front desk explain the situation and she told me the hotel was full, and there was nothing they could do about it. But I could check in with her on a daily basis, and if a double room becomes available, I can move for an extra $25 a day. I explained my situation regarding the surgery. Her tone in her attitude was very disregarding. I’ve never had an issue like that at any Holiday Inn express. So I will not be returning there when I come back to Manhattan for the second surgery.

The good: Location, free breakfast, nice staff. Coffee machine is room (but they only provide light roast coffee!). Room is good size, and there is also a safe. The bed was very good.

The bad: Elevators (up to 20 minutes wait), No bacon for breakfast :) Very crowded breakfast area at rush hours. Not the cleanest room, but good enough. Furniture and bath tube worn out, but works OK.

We stayed for four nights in a king room. We were on the 33rd floor with no view. There are no amenities like gym, pool or laundry. There is no refrigerator in the room or microwave. There are two elevators. In the morning the cleaning staff are using the elevators, right around breakfast time. Breakfast consists of premade cold fried eggs, cold pancakes, sausage patties and bacon. It takes sometimes 30 mins for an elevator to arrive and get up to the room. They do have daily maid service. Bathroom is very small. Room is small. It is located near Times Square and tons of restaurants and transportation.

The good: the breakfast is great, lots of options and good food. The staff was helpful. Housekeeping was amazing. There is complimentary coffee, water and juice available to guests in the lobby area at all times.

The bad: the mattress for our king size bed was horrible, it was sunken in on one side. They were changing matresses for the whole hotel which made the elevator have a long wait time but they did not get to our floor during our stay so the bed stayed an issue all weekend. No fridge or microwave in the rooms but I guess that was on me for not reading the whole description, thought that was standard. We left a souvenier in one of the rooms and after it was cleaned from check out they stated there was nothing in the room but that is where we last left it for sure which was concerning. It was never found.

The location was good. The room itself left things to be desired. The tub would not drain so you stood in your own dirty water. The tub had a hole in the floor that was just covered over with a sticky mat. The shower curtain was broken off prior and kinda reglued back on the wall. One if 2 elevators was out of service when we arrived, being on the 35th floor made that a bit difficult. Staff was great and breakfast was super popular. Fir 1 night being over $430 I was not impressed and wouldn't go back.

I wanted to start the day off easy so really liked that they included a good breakfast, but it didn't have enough staff and planning. The room was super crowded, two times the sausage was overcooked and nearly inedible. They had a pancake maker that was slow, but they also tried to keep other pancakes available. They ran out of napkins and had paper towels out. Instead of it being a relaxing breakfast, it was pretty chaotic, but the staff was great.

Our room was never cleaned unless we call someone to do it. Not sure why this was the case. Bed not made, trash not picked up. No fresh towels. We were there for 4 days. Only had someone come (after calling front desk) to freshen up our room ONCE. That was on the 2nd day. To get fresh towels, had to catch the lady and ask for it.

And the elevator was sooo busy. You will wait a long time for it. we got a room on the 15th floor. In order to go down, best strategy is to go round trip (go up and just ride again all the down.

Good things:
1. welcome home package of 2 drinks and a snack

3. Location - great as it close to Timesquare and broadway

There are some great things about this hotel. The location is fantastic, near 42nd Street and from there all the subway lines. The beds were comfortable, and the staff is friendly and willing to help.

Most of the issues are with the fact that it's a 30-story building with two elevators and five rooms per floor. Getting an elevator can be an issue. The locks on the doors were really tricky--we were told that holding the key near your wallet, other credit cards, your phone, etc will demagnatize it, and that may be true, but it was hard to get into our room even with a brand new key. Going all the way back to the lobby with the busyness of the elevators was a hassle. Also, our air conditioner was VERY noisy and it made it hard to sleep. There wasn't a lot of street noise, though, and that was good. The rooms are tiny.

If you're looking for a reasonably-priced room in a good location, this may be good for you, especially if you don't plan to spend much time there.

Good first impression, have stayed at various Holiday Inns. However, bathroom in need of update, badly stained bath, plug didn't close & wallpaper peeling. Bedroom drawers would not shut, furniture tired looking & stained carpet. Comfy beds & plenty of towels, changed daily if required.
The breakfast room is not big enough for the amount of customers, we had to go down super early to get a table. People queuing to get seated & quite chaotic. Breakfast selection excellent though. There are 2 lifts, which again, not adequate for amount of people. Had to wait quite a long time for a lift to arrive which was usually full so had to wait again, not good when on a high floor
Good location, 5 minutes walk to Times Square & 3 minutes to nearest subway
