The “Suite” was terrible. No window, had a funny smell, way smaller than expected and WiFi was terrible. The pictures on the website are taken to make the room look much nicer. We immediately checked out even though I lost my money. I can’t stay there.

Probably a good stay if not in room 101

The hotel itself looks very nice from the outside and lobby. Room 101 is no too amazing because there is no sound barrier from the room to reception, you can hear people opening the door to and from reception and to the lobby and also hear people talking very easily. There is also no window in the room so it feel like a cave but the room was very clean and comfy beyond those issues.

Hotel Durban is located very close to Filling Station, restaurants, nightlife and bars with famous P.Burgos street just around the corner.

The hotel is modern and stylish, the staff welcoming and helpfull.

Lobby is relaxing and modern design, with a outside terrace with high table and small tables for waiting and relaxing.

Rooms are nice and cosy, good bed and a couch, also safety deposit box in good quality.

The bathroom was clean, stylish and good equipment. Toilet has build in bedet like the japanese style version.

I can recommend this hotel, price was good on hotels.com.

Staff are quick, polite. Internet is non existent. Management is aware. “ we will fix it”. Starbucks just in the corner. Also macdonalds and 7-eleven, Lawson. No dining in the facility itself but surrounded with lots of good restaurants around it. Room cold, water pressure is excellent. Very clean. Looks newly renovated. Very cheap. Money changers are great down stairs. Will come back.

The staff don’t read explicit notes about the details of the specific request (e.g. room next to elevator, queen bed not double and single bed, etc). The wifi is terrible only reaching 0.6 mbps ave. And worst will dc you. The pillows were too stuffed and stiffed.

The property's architecture is interesting. It looks like a small museum or art gallery. We stayed in a suite, which was nice and cozy, but it didn't have any windows so it felt a bit claustrophobic.

The hotel website indicated the presence of a full restaurant which was closed during my stay.
There was constant noise from refurbishments ( hammering, drilling & grinding) including Sunday which often went on until 9pm.
There are no in room tea/coffee facilities and and morning coffee faculties were also unavailable.
I found a bedbug in my room.
I literally only reserved this Hotel because of the restaurant and in my opinion there has been a fundamental breach of contract requiring a full refund.
I will write a full and detailed complaint about this place shortly

Charged my credit card for deposit wrongfully, then blamed me for \"not giving a credit card but my visa card...\" Somehow I'm supposed to know that! Was promised a refund but then once I checked out and was overseas, I received a crappy email saying its my fault for not giving a credit card and that I should dispute the transaction with my own bank.!😕 Con artists.

simple and basic accommodations in a convenient, but congested section of Makati. Rooms are simple and basic, but clean with private bathroom. Restaurant in the hotel was good. Staff are attentive and nice. I will stay here again.

This hotel desperately needs soundproofing in their rooms (at least on the room that I stayed on). I could here conversations from the hallway and from adjacent rooms. My suggestion is they start giving out ear plugs just like those capsule hotels in Japan. One good note, condition of the room and bed comfort is really good.

Give the standard rooms a miss

I booked a standard room for one night as a stop gap. The hotel is clean, staff good etc etc. The Standard room was a big dissappointment being way too small and without any windows, is more akin to a cell. The wifi did not work and is never going to work. Would I stay there again? I'd try a larger room on condition it had a window and functioning wifi.

Location was ok, and close to everything. The rooms were a bit small and the hallways have no AC.
Only one elevator, so you have to wait a while for the elevator if the hotel is busy.
Hotel charges a fee to use their microwave in the kitchen.

I have been to the Hotel Durban 4 times now. The staff is great. The rooms are clean, but the bed mattresses are cheap and have severely hurt my back after a couple of days. I have never had this problem at any other hotel in my entire life.

I actually Checked out a couple days early because of this problem.

I will never return there unless they replace those thin cheap bed mattresses.

The rooms also need a microwave. They charge you to microwave any food in the restaurant by their lobby.

Toxic and poisonous room

Stayed here before. Normally a nice stay however, the room they put me in should have come with a gas mask. The chemical smell in the room was near toxic and dangerous. I woke up in the night with a headache, nauseated and breathing complications. Room 104. THAT ROOM NEEDS TO NEVER BE RENTED. I do not drink nor smoke and when I first checked in, I thought the smell was just normal cleaning disinfectant. I went out for a few hours, then returned to the room to sleep. I awoke neauseated and near sick from the odor. Trouble breathing and that smell was unbearable. I left the room for the night and stayed out as it was only a few hours left for check out and I moved to another Hotel. I did not complain to the management because I know its futile and just not in the mood to deal with all the BS that comes with the complaints that will only result in profuse apologies and no refund nor remedy. I don't know if it was because it was a free room from Hotels.com that I got this tiny toxic poison room or not but it was horrendous and seriously a health hazard.

Don't get the windowless room. You'll regret it. It's a storage closet on the garden level and likely a fire hazard. Don't get it even if it's just a one night stay. Once we saw it, my boyfriend and i upgrade to a room with a window which was on a nicer floor but the window doesn't open *smh* well, rooms are clean and service is impeccable. The bed sheets are scratchy. They should get new ones.

I've stayed at Durban several times. The service staff is friendly and helpful. The only reason for my overall review being just ok this time is because I was given a room on the ground floor. Avoid these rooms since you won't be able to sleep from the noise made primarily by staff walking around and other extracurricular activities

I have stayed at many hotels in Makati, and there are a few excellent reviewed budget hotels in this area, so I am adding this Hotel Durban to my preferred list. I originally booked 1 night but ended up staying 3 nights because of the great accomodating and eager to serve staff members and the quiet comfortable rooms, with very cleaned soft bedding. Out of 2 rooms I stayed on the 2nd floor, 1 had a window but was not affected by the outside noise(even though it was a half a block from noisy Makati ave), the 2nd room had no window, so noise was not an issue. Both rooms smelled nice and the aircon kept the air quality fresh and NOT humid/moldy. Rooms had a minifridge but no bottled water or dental kit, but who needs those, when there are plenty of 7elevens/Minimarts 24/7 nearby? Again, the staff, from the security guys who always greeted me by my name, to the front desk staff, they all made me feel welcome. So, qudos to management for doing good hospitality training and the staffs deserve credit for providing a great experience for me. I highly recommend this gem of a budget hotel. Note: there is a nice resto on site with a varied menu, though I didn’t use it because I always went out to eat.

We stayed here for about 9 days on November. It is a stylish and great-value boutique hotel in Makati Avenue, close to many restaurants and bars. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Only issues we faced were the rather weak wifi connection and the hot shower was not consistent. Nevertheless I wouldn't mind staying here again. They also provide free drinking water.

Was there only for one night was surprised that room didn't had windows but then I checked about room and says no windows :) ok this was my bad. But came late so it was dark outside so who cares about windows. Room was clean everything was ok there was no problems at all. It is good 3* hotel. Only bad thing is you need to pay for breakfast (if you want of course) if they will add breakfast to room price would be superb. After checkout they asked me if I want taxi or grab I just said give me cheapest drive to airport and in few minutes came car.

The room is large enough for three persons. The bathroom is very clean. However, from our first day of stay until noon of the next day, the air conditioning seems not to be functioning well. We informed them and in 15-20 mins, it was fixed.
The staff are genuinely helpful and friendly.
I just hope that toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, and toothpaste will be provided like what any other hotels do.

Making my booking to Durban Hotel was by far the worst decision I have ever made. Everything went wrong for my friend and I. We booked two room for 6nights which clearly was wrong to do so before checking out the hotel first. Nevertheless, after getting hit with the reality of the hotel experience form the first night, we immediately changed out booking to another hotel. We communicated with Expedia to call the hotel for a refund but the hotel denyed our request. Then we asked them to waver the upgrade we made and we will leave the hote prior of our checking out which they clearly can profit from the remaining 4 unoccupied days but they also denyed. They didn’t try to help us at any way possible and the were pumpling a lot and looking at us weirdly.

There are many wrong things at the hotel which made us decide to leave early. There are no amunities, as well as an empty bathroom with two twols only. No soap or any other cleaning products available as any other hotels. Water can only be requested and they will pore it in a jug. The hotel is only good for a one night stay.

All what we needed was a bit of understanding from the hotel as well as more help from Expedia to make our stay more comfortable.

I booked a deluxe suite but i suspect I was put in a deluxe room only. despite my questioning the room I was assured that it was a deluxe suite but having stayed there before I have my doubts as the room seemed quite a bit smaller and no sofa
Also there was no hot water in the shower
