I arrived and the staff was NOT friendly at all throughout my stay of 2 nights. Walked past several employees with no acknowledgment, when I went to check out she did not ask how my stay was nor did she say “good morning”. Dinner was horrible, they were out of several menu items and the burnt our baked potatoes. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not stay myself. Hampton Inn would have been a better choice.

We were just there for one night, to enjoy dinner and attend a concert, but enjoyed our stay. We will certainly stay there when we have time to return to explore Blennerhasset Island. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and found the servers to be excellent both times. The food was also generous and delicious. We would only suggest that the she crab soup have the expected chunks of crabmeat rather than crabmeat that seemed to have been ground up.

Clean space, nice staff, lovely lobby. However, the standard double queen rooms have TINY bathrooms that you can barely get into and close the door… they also have very low drop ceilings, and in the room we were given the window was busted and didn’t close properly so it let in a lot of noise and heat. We wound up upgrading to a bigger room which had good bones but was a bit tired and outdated, and the bed was not the most comfortable for us as it was on the firm side.

I love that they foster a rescue dog until it gets adopted - they have helped so many dogs find a furever home ! I wish I could have taken their current rescue , Andre . I hope he finds Home soon . I usually love staying at this hotel, but unfortunately this stay was different. We booked for two nights. The morning after the first night’s stay we wanted to shower up from our long drive. The water was a disgusting brown. We notified the front desk and were told that is was the city working in the area. When we later said we will be leaving and checking out, we were told maintenance worked on the boiler and did not flush all the lines. Strike one on management not informing reception to tell us at check in.
I was told the manager would work with Expedia to refund the second night and offer compensation for the water condition on the first night’s stay. Left my number but was never called back, strike two. I called that afternoon, but the manager was gone. Left a message for them and my number to call back. No call back the next day, strike three.
I had Expedia call and they talked to a manager named Jane. She refused to refund as I chose to check out. Strike four….. There’s no crying in baseball.
I later called the hotel and was told that Jane was gone for the day a mere 60 seconds later. I was forwarded to the HR Manager, also gone for the day and left a message.
Completely unacceptable for a hotel of this price point. Although the reception staff were kind and tried to be helpful, there was never a manager available and no one else that could help. Plus, the management refuses to talk to their guests.

The Blennerhassett Hotel was like walking into the perfect mix of classic and modern. The owners have done a great job of preserving this historic building while sneaking in up to date amenities. All of the staff that we had the chance to meet were incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean with super comfortable beds. After checking out we had brunch in their restaurant and food was scrumptious! We can’t wait to make a trip back!

Just about every area was dissapointing. Room was small, bathroom even smaller. No walk-in shower as advertised. One evening we had no parking available because of wedding crowd. You should have parking for guests staying at hotel seperate from guests coming for weddin. We had breakfast at hotel, it was poor. $44 for dried out, over salted egg/potato/sausage gravy/ biscuit bowl. Neither of us could finish it. The staff could not answer simple questions, nor did they seem interested in trying. It seems that all the hotel cared about was weddings taking place there, and not the guests staying at the hotel. We also feel we got price-gouged by expedia for room, even though it's supposed to save you money. When I asked the desk personal about it, they shrugged and said, thats odd, it's usually cheaper through them. You'll have to take it up with them, which I intend to do. Needless to say we will never chose to return there when in parkersburg area, and will advise others to avoid your hotel, unless they are having wedding there. You seem to treat those folks like you actually like and care about them. The only positive aspect was it was very clean, which is important.

The property and room was nice. The front of the building is beautiful with lots of flowers. When checking in, front staff was not friendly whatsoever, that was our first interaction with staff and it didn’t make a good impression. The room was nice, but didn’t have a mini fridge which we thought was odd, so we had to throw out our restaurant leftovers, and couldn’t keep drinks cold. Parking was sufficient for when we were there, but if all rooms are full, I’m not sure where anyone parks. We did not try the restaurant on site. It’s a nice, historic hotel that is in a good location.

It is a nicely renovated and kept historical building. The hotel is very nice, comfortable and the rooms are spacious and well set up.

The hotel itself was neat to see because of the history but the staff and experience wasn’t great. I booked a tour for 10am the day after check in. At check in I was told the tour was at 8am. The next morning when we showed up for the tour we were told that they knew nothing about it. Also, we wanted to get drinks at the speakeasy but we went in and sat down and waited for at least 30 minutes and no bartender. This was around 10pm and we were told that it was open until 2am

Due to her attitude I almost canceled my reservation with them for next month however, the rest of the staff and especially the restaurant staff went above and beyond.. the food is greatly overpriced and not really that tasty but the staff in the restaurant is the best I’ve ever seen.

Don't count on getting what you reserved!
I made my reservations 4 months in advance since I am a senior with specific needs. Requested one king bed, shower with safety bars (no bath tub) and safety bars near toilet. Called the day before and confirmed this. Was told that I would have a king with a shower and toilet with safety bars. Arrived the next day and given a room with two full beds and a shower that you had to squeeze between the toilet and sink in order to close the bathroom door to get to the shower. Asked for a another room and was given a king bed but now a bath tub with one safety bar. and still had to squeeze in to shut the bathroom door to get to the bath tub. I just gave up and made due. Don't think I would stay there again.

It was on my Granddaughter's bucket list to visit this haunted domain. It was a great stay in our mini-suite. Got the haunted room 409 pictures, at the door.The walkable history lesson at the namsake museum is a must. It all made memories.
