Jeff
Loved our stay. The Hotel itself is very interesting, comfortable, and of quality. It's location right downtown on the waterfront gives wonderful access to everything. We especially enjoyed our morning latte's and pastries in the hotel coffee shop. A great start to the day. We explored downtown La Crosse, ate at the many restaurants, and took regular walks through the park and along the waterfront. Delightful!
Lars
Unique and very nice with lots of fancy little touches like double sink in bathroom and heavy drapes with hook.
Lauren
This was a beautiful property. Amazing experience all around.
Kathleen
The hotel and staff are fabulous!
Neil
WONDERFUL PEOPLE. LOVED SJ THE DOORMAN.
Donna
Parking across the street or valet available
Kelly
We loved this hotel. The amenities were amazing and the staff was super friendly and went above and beyond.
Tamara
The menu choices in the dining room were limited and there was no way to get coffee on the weekend before 7:30 and you have to go down to the lobby to get it. I am sure room service was available eventually. Very quaint spot and well done that way but be prepared that it doesn't have things that newer places have, like ice machines, coffee makers in the room, or more than one elevator for the whole building. So don't be in a hurry.
Chris
This beautiful hotel had amazing service. Definitely staying again.
Benjamin
Always a phenomenal experience at the Charmant. The lobby bar and restaurant were under remodel, and there aren't nearly the food options up at the rooftop bar, but hey, sometimes you have to remodel, and by the time this is published, the remodel should be done, so you, dear reader, will have more and better food and drink options during your stay. Enjoy.
Katherine
Lovely stay at the Charmant - relaxing and beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff and morning brunch on the weekend was delicious!
Arin
The staff was so accommodating and helpful for anything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately the restaurant was being renovated so we were unable to enjoy that amenity, but everything was excellent.

Really loved this beautiful hotel! Super clean and the staff are friendly and helpful! The Parlour coffee shop on site has wonderful pastries and coffee and they open early morning. We will stay again!
Susan
The staff were amazing and so helpful! The hotel was exquisit, simply beautiful, and in a great location. Walkable to shops, dining and attractions. The restaurant and bar were under construction and not open during our stay, which was disappointing, but overall I would give this hotel 5 out of 5 stars, would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Erika
Wonderful hotel! It was beautiful, clean, quiet and so comfortable. Loved the roof top bar and the snack menu was tasty. Was disappointed that the restaurant was under renovations.
Karyn
I can’t say enough good things about The Charmant. The staff was exceptional and made my sister, my puppy and myself feel like we were at home away from home. The historic charm, elegance of the property and location by the parks and Mississippi River were icing on the cake! Will make a point of coming back to La Crosse just to stay here again.
William
This was our third stay. We were unaware when booking the room of a major interior remodeling taking place that affected the restaurant and bar - two of the nicest assets of the hotel. This definitely impacted the quality of our stay. However, the front desk staff made a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant that served a very memorable dinner.

Greeted by the most friendly person. She gifted our pup with a treat and us with chocolate. The rooms feel like a beautiful home. I loved the experience!
Janine
This is such a nice unexpected gem in this little town. A refurbished chocolate factory, the building itself is delightful. The staff is super helpful and the welcoming chocolates were so fun! Don’t forget about the cute rooftop bar.
Thomas
The room and staff were fabulous!!! When I stayed both the downstairs bar(renovating) and the rooftop bar (private party) were closed. :(
Keith
My girlfriend and I love coming here for romantic weekends and because the restaurant is really first class. We also like to shop at Dale‘s, which is within walking distance. We have stayed here at least five times and plan on staying here in the future as well. It’s a nice way to treat yourself on a quiet weekend away, which is nonetheless close to the Twin Cities.
Carolyn
It’s fabulous.
Kathy
Was very nice. Bed was great! Disappointing on our stay the bar was being redone. Very clean and staff was very nice and helpful.
Shelby

Unfortunately we’ve stayed here many times. This time was not like the previous. There was something very sticky all over the bathroom floor so needed shoes whenever we used the bathroom. Beds were very uncomfortable and most def needing the mattresses replaced and we had some cold evenings while there and couldn’t get the heat to work. They did bring us a space heater the last evening and it did help. Just unfortunate for the nightly rate is expensive there. Just disappointed this time as we’ve never encountered issues previously. Well prob pick another hotel in the future as we’re there often where we visit family.
Lisa
Loved this place- would definitely stay again
Laura
The room was clean and comfortable. The bed , sheets and pillows were awesome. Staff was very friendly.
Sonja
Everything about this property was top notch. From the hotel room to the restaurant and bar. And fabulous location!
Hollie
Very happy with everything.
Suzanne
This is one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed in. Meticulously decorated with a cozy, unpretentious vibe. Thoughtfully incorporated the buildings previous life as a chocolate factory into the theme and decor. Highly recommend.
Gary
This is the cleanest hotel we have every stayed at.
Dennis
The breakfast was very good. My room had some issues though. My bed squeaked every time i moved. The toilet tank banged up against the wall every time I say down. one of the lights flickered so I had to shut it off.
DIANE
Not many beers to choose from if your not an IPA guy
Maxwell
Staff was friendly, room was historic but with modern amenities. I would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Charmont Hotel. The room was large and well appointed. The cuisine was excellent. A must stay.

Love this gem in La Crosse
Gary
The hotel is beautiful, lobby, bar, and rooms as well as general common areas and hallways. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Bartenders mixed an excellent Old Fashioned and they kept the pace with a bar full of customers. I have only two suggested improvements: 1) a couple of bottles of water in the room would have been nice and 2) provide some onsite parking rather than having valet be the only option.
Carmen
I’ve stayed here many times and each time I come back I love it just a little bit more. During this visit, I got to spend a number of hours on the rooftop bar, which was absolute perfection.
Antonio
limited breakfast menu, but the food is excellent.
Claudia
The room was beautiful, as expected from the photos I had seen online. This was my first stay here, though my family and I have dined at the restaurant in the hotel several times over the last few years. If I can afford to, I would happily stay again!
Matthew
Incredible experience, start to finish.
Angela
We always enjoy staying at this hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Our first time staying and we’ll be back! The property itself is beautiful and historic, in a great location and has alot of amenities. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was wonderful. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Can’t say enough good things about our stay!
David
Beautiful hotel! Excellent food, drinks and coffee. Walkable.
Molly
It was difficult to go to the restaurant on property. It would be good to know that reservations are required when booking the hotel. We would have made reservations if we knew that we needed to.
Austin

The hubs and I stayed here for a quick work trip that we turned into a weekend exploring La Crosse. Our stay was fantastic! Check-in/out process was a breeze. Entire staff superb from valet to front desk to waitstaff to bartenders to housekeeping: thoughtful, personable, and friendly. The welcome chocolates and tokens were such a fun surprise. The bar, restaurant, and coffee shop were all hits with delicious food and clever cocktails. Comfy bed, clean and aesthetically pleasing room, great shower! Kyler at the restaurant is THE BEST. Would absolutely stay here again.
Paul
Nice boutique hotel in an old chocolate factory. Red brick building with views of the Mississippi River just a block away. Easy walking along the river and to downtown bars, restaurants, and shops. There are several franchise/chain hotel options downtown, but the Charmant is the unique boutique.
Daniel
Had a great stay. Very nice atmosphere.

The entire bar and restaurant were unavailable to guests for a PRIVATE PARTY. When making the room reservation, nothing was mentioned about this event or the fact that the bar and restaurant would be closed.
