Very clean! Beds were super comfy
Daryl
The staff was great but our check was not. I have a 6 foot 3 wheelchair man. Booked a wheelchair room but couldn’t get him in the bathroom it only had a bathtub. They changed rooms that accommodated us but the soap stuff was across from the wheelchair seat. We went to use the shower handle and it fell off the wall. It was not fixed for our stay. We booked 2 rooms the other room had other guests staying in it already. We checked in at 4pm had to go to a wedding rehearsal at 5. We had hoped to have 45 minutes to get ready but after 3 trips to the desk to get the right rooms and bring them the shower parts we had 15. The desk person was kind and did his best but it was not a good check in. It was embarrassing to walk in on other guests we did not know. It is also hard enough to be in a wheelchair book the right accommodation but not have it when you check in
Charles
Liked the location.
Diane
The room was perfect! Staff was friendly. Enjoyed the our stay. Like the idea of shampoo and wash etc being dispenser on wall. Those travel ones always multiply on our trips.
William
Rooms have kitchenettes, but no tables. Could be cleaner, halls vacuumed.
Robert
Nice location, great staff
Sarah
I would not book through Hotels.com. I was charged $100 more than what the hotel itself charged. Then, when I checked out, I was told by the hotel that Hotels.com did not give them their money so they were going to charge me 268 more dollars now, Hotels.com is making me wait to get reimbursed from the hotel, rather than reimbursing me the money they charged me and did not pay the hotel. Bad business.
Chad
Had a few issues with the room and maintenance came right away and fixed it. Said they had contractors there recently and were fixing alot that the contractors missed
Henry
The kitchen was fully equipped. The room was clean minus the full bag of popped popcorn left in the microwave. Staff were helpful and polite. Air/heat worked well.
Maria
So good fresh
Bob

Very nice suite; a cot was provided since we had a party of 5. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great price for a full suite with kitchenette.

Troy
Slept amazing. Maybe didn’t need the extra but I was planning more than me
Kao
Staff was nice, room was clean. It was quiet.
I wish there was free breakfast but it does have a kitchen so that was a plus. We were running late to our itinerary so didn't get a chance to make breakfast.
Overall, was a great experience, Definitely will be booking again

The room was clean and spacious. Nice to have the little kitchenette area even for a short stay. Will definitely stay again.
Keith

Jessica
Great stay
Jay
The staff was amazing. So welcoming. I was in search of a cooler for a sales pitch, and they provided one without hesitation. Don't see many service members in the industry like them.
James
Very clean property. Room was very nice. Excellent staff. I will stay there again
Jennifer
Very closet beds and pillows
John
My parents came to town from Iowa. It was during Ocktoberfest and busy. The hotel was real good about keeping people out if they didn't have a room key.
paige
We'd like to be able to have a room facing the back instead of the front. We've stayed many times and this is our first time facing the front. The traffic is super loud starting early in the morning.
David
It was an acceptable place to stay except for me. I can’t tolerate heat and couldn’t get the room cool enough but that’s me.
John
Good room with loud A/C
Good room and nice peoperty even if the neighborhood was a bit run down for the area. LOUD A/C unit. Everything else was great.
Michael
Always a great place for a long stay.
Jon

Cynthia

Booked a queen suite with a separate room and a couch only to be given a room with a king bed, no separate room and a chair instead of a couch! Front desk attendant was no help! Couldn’t even provide us with a rollaway bed.
Vince and Melanie
Easy check in. We were able to get into our room 30 minutes early. Room was nice for the price.

LaCrosse downtown hotel
clean and friendly and reasonably priced

Excellent
Very clean room and bed was great. No breakfast service as this hotel is more of an extended stay. But they had a kitchen to make your own.
Huvsi
I put in my reservation many days before the trip and when I got to the property for check in , I was told that my three rooms were moved to another location which is 30 minutes away from the original booking location. People over paid the property for a wedding that was going on in town . The people who were having the wedding blocked off the hotel and double paid for only wedding attendees can stay at the hotel . I felt like this was unfair especially when I didn’t agree to switching locations for reservations and especially when I booked my reservation early !
Terese
The beds were comfortable & clean, check in & check out staff friendly & efficient, just not cleaned properly, mirrors dirty, night stand had stains, bathroom floor had hair on it.carpet had a bottle cap on it, if you vacuumed you would have seen it.
James
Comfortable and quiet.

Good Stay
I thought someone was still in the first room I checked into. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher, opened bags of food in a drawer and dried spills in the fridge. There were no clothes, so whew, not in someone's room, but not going to be MY room either!
Went back to desk and was given a different room. Housekeeping had finished the room, so much better condition, although the floor was gritty when I walked on it. Overall, the rest of the room was clean though. There were only 2 spoons, forks, knives, cups, bowls, plates, etc. in the room. Not many, when you consider you are using utensils and dishes for each meal. I ended up buying paper plates and plastic cutlery to cut down on running the dishwasher very often.
It is unfortunate that the non smoking policy does not carry out into the gazebo. Basically, the gazebo was the smoking room. Anytime anyone was using it, they were smoking. Makes it very unappealing for non smokers. Same with the area outside the front door. It gives a bad impression when staff hangs around the door to grab a quick smoke - not to mention it forces people to walk thru their smoke cloud.
The towels were nice, bed and pillows comfy and chair and little side table very convenient. This is a nice hotel with a few things that make it not as nice. Would I stay there again, yes. Just wish those few things were different.

The staff was great, very nice rooms.
The neighbors were hanging out in the hallway at 1:00 a.m. and kept my daughter up.

Was here for Wisconsin State High School Track and Field Championships. I have stayed at this hotel previously. It is ideally located 5 minutes by car from UW LaCrosse. There is a Festival Foods grocery store across the parking lot and running/hiking trails within 1 block of the hotel. As this is an extended stay type of hotel, there is minimal interaction with staff, They were polite, not particularly outgoing. Rooms are at a premium the weekend of this track meet and the nightly cost is reflected. It is pricey, but not more so than any other comparable hotels. The cooking facilities in the each room is a bonus. I would stay here again.
Joe
Really friendly helpful staff. Hotel was clean though the furniture looked a little on the worn side. The studio suite was fine for a single person traveling. Plenty of room with a full kitchen, desk, recliner and bed. Bed and pillows were comfortable.
Hotel was very quiet for Memorial Day weekend which was nice! Served as a good base to hit the trout streams in the area and fly fish.
Definitely would recommend and hope to stay again in the future!

Highly recommend.
The hotel was very clean and quiet. The staff was very kind and patient with me extending my stay many times due to a family member being in the hospital.

Thanks for no pool.
Thanks to Candlewood for not having an indoor pool. No kids running back and forth in the halls. Nice and quiet for we travelers.
Jean
I liked that almost everything place we wanted to visit or a restaurant we wanted to dine at was 10 minutes away.
Jennifer
Wonderful IHG hotel suite
The front desk woman was so friendly and helpful. We were in town for a track meet and she was absolutely wonderful. The free coffee and fruit was a plus. Great workout and laundry facility and the shower head pressure was outstanding. Clean facility and loved all the dishes and storage containers.

Clean and comfy

Desperately needs an update!
This hotel is very tired. Peeling paint, rusting bath shower rail, mismatched furniture, cabinet doors out of alignment. Our refrigerator leaked when the ice maker was turned on.
There were no towel holders in the bathroom-only one small hook. You would think an extended stay hotel would provide some way to hang up towels to reuse.
We ended up paying a premium price for a so-so room.
Staff was very friendly.

We had confirmed a booking through hotel.com a room with king size bed and our room we got a queen size and rep at the hotel said nothing they can do since booked with a 3rd party. Why are 3rd parties allowed to book if room is not available this is Candlewood suites and they should have informed us of this change. Very disappointing
brian
Remodel in progress. Hotel offered NO amenities. No breakfast, no marketplace, no pool, etc. No discount for not offering amenites

Not a good experience, cust service non-existent
Lacked customer service upon checking in and checking out. We were not made aware of the construction inside the hotel entrance and lobby area going on ahead of our arrival. Room was not ready when told per reservation and planned to get ready for the wedding before attending the reception. We were told it would be anywhere from 2-3 hours. We ended up having to wait to check in AFTER returning to the hotel after the wedding we had attended, their lack of service became our problem. Was not thanked or given an apology or offered an accommodation when checking in or leaving in the morning.
Joseph
Construction, cold coffee, empty front desk.
Erin
The booking through travelocity alluded to a room with a couch and a private queen bed that slept 3 people. The room I was provided did not have a couch. The room barely slept 2 people. When I asked the front desk to remedy the situation, they said they could not. False advertising on travelocity's site as to what the room would provide.
Lori
Very nice hotel. They are in the process of renovating, however, that did not impact our stay what-so-ever. Clean, comfortable and very well kept.
Ahmad

Mixed Bag
No response to text requests even though the hotel sent a text message upon arrival requesting guests to use the text message for needs. Upon asking a housekeeper to replenish face towels and coffee, it didn’t happen. Had to physically walk to front desk each time we needed something. Renovation noise was very loud. Housekeeping staff stood outside the front door and smoked which stunk up the entry and guests had to walk through the cig smoke to enter building.
Room was clean and bed was comfy!

good
It was a nice clean hotel with a friendly staff. The only thing bad in this area is there is no breakfast at this hotel and many in the Lacrosse area.
Jesus
The building was well maintained and clean. The room doors need some touch up paint. The doors were dirt and scuffed. The night shift staff are less than friendly or helpful. There is no hot tub or pool which is disappointing. The beds were super comfortable. The hotel was quiet, that was appreciated.
Joanna
The property was nice and having restaurants and shopping near by was nice. However, there seemed to be a family of at least 8 people staying across from our room. It seemed like they lived there as they were in and out at all times, doing laundry and new people arriving every time I left my room. I felt very uncomfortable at one point when there was 3 grown men knocking on the door at 6:30 am. Normally, this would not bother me but something did not feel right. I also thought this was a Non-Smoking hotel and there were people smoking marijuna in their rooms.
Unfortunately, we will be back in La Crosse many times throughout my son's college years, and we will not stay here again.

Cold air heater in 6 degree temps
The heater was blowing cold air, in the living room and bed room. Called the front desk. Was told maintenance would be up soon. NEVER SHOWED UP!! Had to sleep fully dressed with blankets on!!! The NEXT DAY, I had to go to the front desk and inform the Day staff of the situation. The fixed it. BUT when I asked if we could get a free nights stay for the problem, I was told they couldn’t do that!! Will never stay here again!!!
Michelle
Great choice near downtown LaCrosse
Super clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff with comfy beds. We only stayed two nights but would absolutely stay again if we are in the area.
Robert
Great place, going back when in area.
Room and restroom very clean, nice size space for both, exhaust fan in restroom worked great. Great friendly staff. Just waiting for a call back issue with 2x billing.
Rita
Very good proximity to historic downtown...a 15-minute walk max (be sure to use pedestrian traffic signals). Very comfortable bed abs bedding! Limited amenities but price is worth it.
Jenny
Great nights sleep
Very comfortable room with an unbelievable amount of options for food in the hotel and options for cooking
Lisa
it is well maintained and clean. Location is convenient to downtown and UW campus. The hotel was nice and quiet, it would have been nice to have an ice machine, rather than make our own though. I'm not sure that I'd stay as a short term guest again, but if on a longer trip it's a great choice with the large fridge and dishes.
