Probably the best hostel our group stayed at during our trip to Iceland. Everything is very neat, there are plenty of shared restrooms and showers, which are also very clean. The shared kitchen is awesome, with everything you could possibly need.
The lady running the hostel was also so kind and helpful and there even exists a drying room in the basement which we took full advantage after arriving here after a particularly rainy day.
The only slight negative is the high price of the laundry which ran almost 20 USD for a single load of washer/dryer but other than that this place is awesome.

We stumbled on this place when we booked our trip to Iceland last minute. It was fine accommodations. We would stay in Hofn again, but would prefer to stay in a hotel next time. That being said, this was a great option for us. This is one of the nicest hostels we have stayed in, but it was also very expensive as far as hostels go.

We had a great time and fully enjoyed the HUGE kitchen assortment of pots and pans and utensils. The bathrooms are shiny new and impeccable conditions. We stayed in a basement room with 6 beds and the air got a bit stuffy by the morning, but we kept the window a bit open to freshen up. We enjoyed the free mini golf on the water nearby, the public pool and the few restaurants in town to try langoustine. We definitely recommend it.

I had a private room with my own washroom. It was lovely and clean. The bathroom was spacious and the shower had plenty of hot water (that was desperately needed after all of the hiking and driving that day). The kitchen had everything needed to make food and the lady at reception was really nice. I would stay here again.

This was probably one of the best hostels we've ever stayed in. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and everywhere was spotless. Washing facilities were expensive but easy to access. There was a faint odour in our room and it's a bit chilly to open the window to air it out in winter, but this wasn't a huge issue. Parking was free and convenient.

This was a nice hostel in a good area. The only thing to be aware of is that you need to take off your shoes any time you are inside, you may want to bring slippers/flip flops to wear while indoors. Also, they have multiple fridges but the freezer is only accessible by the staff so they have to be on site for you to put things in or take things out of the freezer.

Family of 4 travelling on the ring road circle. We arrived very late and the staff is kind enough to leave us key cards and note to enter the room. Facilities are modern and very clean. Community kitchen area is well equipped. I would suggest to have an additional toaster as everyone’s waiting for the one toaster in the morning to toast their bread. We had a great night of sleep. Would highly recommend this place!

But we suspect it was the sulphur in the water rather than any fault on the part of the management. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and it was easy for us to find things. The hostel itself is very clean and in a residential neighbourhood. Everyone who was staying was very nice and the communal kitchen was easily accessible to everyone. We walked to the town and that was very doable. The town is quiet but there are a number of things to see in the area. We really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend it.

I loved that everyone was required to take off their shoes at the entrance itself. The communal kitchen was exceptional with multiple cooktops, sinks and work surfaces. The common areas were lively and a great place to meet new friends. Bathrooms were spotless and the rooms were super clean. Best part for me was there is a small hill right outside, near the parking lot. we climbed it and got a great view of 5 glaciers coming down from the Vatnajokull ice cap!

This was a very nice place to stay for our family of four. There was a big kitchen that everyone was welcome to share. The smells from the kitchen were amazing and there was a fridge to store our stuff in. One group was making a leg of lamb! We loved seeing everyone relaxing and enjoying the common areas. We found our room with a private bath very clean and comfortable. The surrounding area is terrific with gas stations, restaurants etc.

this might be my favourite place of the whole iceland trip! place was very newly renovated, the kitchen looks newer than in the photos. free cookies, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate provided. the entire place was very nice and I'll gladly come back again.

Very nice hostel with excellent facilities. It has just been renovated and all the rooms and bathrooms are very nice. The kitchen is big and has everything you could need. There are free hot drinks and biscuits too! Easy check in and check out as well.

I drove around the ring road and used this hostel as one of my stop. The service was good. The receptionist was nice enough to show me my room is along with 5 guests. The bathroom is very clean as well as the shared kitchen. The parking lot is right in front of the building. Definitely recommend to stay here if you’re traveling by yourself or with others!

This hostel is newly renovated and VERY clean. The staff works very hard to keep the place orderly, but they are not the friendliest bunch. We needed to wash laundry and tried to do so several times on the day we arrived. We were told that we could do laundry later in the evening, and then told at 9PM that it was too late to do laundry but we could get it done the next morning, on our departure day. We set our alarm for 7AM and we were happy that we were able to wash two loads of clothes. WARNING….we paid $32 to wash and dry two small loads of clothing….ridiculous!!!!

Located in a quiet residential area, it is not a far walk from the town centre or the clinic (very nice if you need to get tested for COVID for onward travels). Kitchen was very well stocked and bathrooms were very clean. The beds were also very comfortable. The atmosphere was very good and family friendly. Would definitely stay again!
