The property was ok, very strange floors that felt like outdoor pool flooring. Clean and quiet, very basic, comfortable beds, we did not see a single staff member during our stay.

The room was great. It was a self-service check in. So no one was there. We did eat at a local food place which was great and very popular for a small town. A couple of bucket list excursions were nearby, so the location was very convenient.

This property was a pleasant surprise, the photo looked like an Atco trailer (a metal trailer used in Canada for construction crews), however it was spacious, clean and so far the nicest place we have stayed in Iceland. Odd though, many of the guesthouses have separate single beds.

A simple place for a one night stay. Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Simple check in process (room access via code) so I didn't speak to anyone at reception. Free onsite parking. There was breakfast served offsite but I didn't go. Rooms include a small fridge and kettle. I'd stay here again if in Hofn.

Turned out ok but many flaws/issues

Choices are limited in the area but I have to believe there must be better for a comparable price. Despite Hotels.com listing ‘24x7 front desk’, there isn’t. The sign in reception says to check your email for the room number and the access code. But I never received an email. Heaven knows what you do if you arrive late at night as the automatic doors from the parking area are also keypad secured after dark.

The room itself was large although probably did not make the best use of the space with a massively oversized bathroom almost the same size as the rest of the room.

Next problem was the huge parking and adjacent petrol station seemed to be an attractive skateboard/e-scooter/football venue for the local 12 year olds. Clearly not a lot for them to do in Hofn on a Friday night. The noise of all of this was becoming a nuisance but no one onsite to assist. Fortunately it must have been bedtime as the noise stopped.

Breakfast was optional extra and so we opted out. But a spin off benefit of being next door to a petrol station is there is a mini market store which also served some hot food. Hofn has a good number of restaurants but the hotel is 15 mins walk from them (at the port).

Back to the hotel room itself there was poor check on details. One curtain runner was broken. No soap in the dispenser by bathroom sink. No plug in bathroom sink. Toilet seat too small for the toilet.

But bed comfy and no noise during the night. For one night it was ok

Steer clear of this place

We didn't see a single employee from the hotel the entire time we stayed there. There was no breakfast option despite supposedly there was one. The parking lot was incredibly icy and I slipped and fell, hurting my back. Specifically, Room 101 had many issues including: the over bed lights did not work with one missing its switch and the other having a burned-out bulb, the couch had a broken leg at the left end, the wooden chair had a broken back and was dangerously unstable.

Good night stay in Hofn

This place was a good one night stay along the Ring Road. We got in late and left very early so didn't interact with any staff. Check in was very straightforward and all of the directions were emailed to me before hand. It's a no frills guesthouse so there wasn't anything spectacular about it. Beds were not the most comfortable but they were ok. The bathroom is very large. Overall i think that if you're looking for a place to stay overnight and want a good price you should consider this place, Didn't here any noise from other guests all night. One convenient thing about this place is that it was nect to a gas station which was very convenient since we needed to fill up fast and catch our early morning tour back at Glacier Lagoon. Didn't try the breakfast but it was offered.

Great location for us and happy to get a private bathroom included in the price. Bed was comfortable, room spacious and easy self-check in. Only thing breakfast is in a separate building across the road. Was windy and cold to walk there but can't complain. Would stay again! Highly recommend.

But this a little gem. It's self check-in, have modern touches for opening your door, very clean.

The breakfast across the street I didn't get to use because I got confused in the times. But great room.

There was a sign at reception saying “be back in 5 minutes” but no one was there from 8-2am.

The hotel offered wifi, but it didn’t work...when we called to ask why it wasn’t working (since no one was at reception) we got a confusing reaponse which said it would be back on tomorrow afternoon. Since we were only staying the night, it really didn’t help us. After we asked, they did offer a discount...but still. If you’re looking for a place with wifi, like we were, this isn’t really the place for you

An easy to find, basic well presented hotel with rooms along a central corridor and check in using a code which was emailed to us. A member of staff was easily contactable by phone and appeared quickly when we needed them. Tea, coffee, hairdryer, good shower & comfortable beds. Even the pull out bed qas comfortable. There was a good choice of continental breakfast items served in a separate building.

Comfortable, not flashy

The hotel is conveniently located, but nothing flashy. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was better than most, but nothing spectacular. There are several restaurants a few blocks away (a short drive). If you're looking for something super romantic, this is not your place. If you are driving around the ring road and are looking for a comfortable room that has nearby restaurants, this is a nice choice.

Room was spacious. Pebble floor was very unique and pretty but uncomfortable on feet. Room has high windows that let in a lot of light under curtain edge. Bed was slightly uncomfortable- woke up with sore hips. Shower is only divided by curtain, no floor enclosure so floor next to toilet gets wet. Breakfast is served in separate building- easy walk across the street. They had sour yogurt, cereal, lunch meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, oranges, apples, bread for toast, carrot cake, and chocolate cake. In center of town so restaurants nearby. Just a few blocks to ocean. Good wi-fi.
A few tidbits about Iceland hotels in general: Towels are placed on your bed, not in the bathroom so try to remember to take it in with you! All hotels seem to have tiny sinks, just a little basin mounted to wall with no counter space for your toiletry bag. They do not use top sheets; they have a down like blanket in duvet cover which gets very warm so I recommend turning the radiator down for sleeping. Curtains generally can't block all the light so if you need total darkness to sleep bring an eye mask. They don't have washcloths. All the twin beds were extra long which my 6' 5" son appreciated but the blanket wasn't long enough.

The room met our needs. Based on price, I'd certainly stay here again. It is more of a dorm style room (art felt random, modest decor that does not really match, tons of blank space) but who cares about the room when you have the beauty of Iceland right outside?! Shower water pressure and wifi were fine. Breakfast was standard Iceland fare (good with options for toast and waffles as hot food, cereals, skyr, veggies, fish as cold food).

Das Guesthouse besteht tatsächlich nur aus Zimmern. Kein Raum wo man sich Abends mal hinsetzen kann, zw. frühstücken kann. Man ist auf sein Zimmer beschränkt. Restaurant ist fussläufig zu erreichen.
