Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were basic but clean and very comfortable. A simple breakfast was also included. There is a cafe on site selling soup and panini’s but it closes at 5pm so wee went into nearby Hofn for dinner both days which was only 15 mins in the car.

It’s a superb location for enjoying the beach and mountains.

I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent stay.

The room itself was okay and the shower was good; however, several aspects of the experience were disappointing. The check-in process felt rushed, and I was surprised to find that the restaurant and much of the property closed at 6pm, which felt very early. I specifically booked this location because it was marketed to have a restaurant/cafe, yet we were unable to dine there due to the early closing time.

Additionally, breakfast was listed as included in the stay. The information in the room indicated breakfast began at 8am, which is already late for a remote property where guests often depart early. When we arrived at the café at 8am, a sign stated it opened at 9am. As a result, we had to leave without breakfast and without a proper checkout.

Overall, this felt frustrating and did not align with what was advertised. Given these circumstances, I would like to request a partial refund for the stay.

Please let me know how this can be resolved. I look forward to your response.

Where do we even begin? This place is absolutely amazing, set in the most beautiful location with free , unlimited access to Stokksnes area. The room was spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and had everything you may need for comfortable stay , bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great, and you just have to try delicious waffles with rhubarb sauce and cream ! The ladies ( staff ) are amazing, make you feel so welcome , special thanks to Linda, who is a superstar and made our stay even more special. This place is actually so good that we had booked it again before we even left Iceland. Would highly recommend and we will never book anywhere else.

For any photographers wanting to get photos of Vestrahorn, there is no better place to stay. There have been new additions to guesthouse over the past year and the new rooms are excellent! Some even have kichenettes and washer/dryers which is great especially if on a longer trip. Access to the beach is included and you can get tickets at cafe to come and go as you please and chase the light.

Small but strategically placed property right beside Vestrahorn and the Viking Village. Room look updated, although small with not much room to move around the beds, it had everything needed for a comfortable and quiet stay with great views. Very friendly welcome and with it right beside Vestrahorn, it was an ideal stay for getting pics at sunset and sunrise. Breakfast was standard fare but dinner options were limited to soup, a panini or grilled cheese and ham. Book early as likely to sell out well in advance!

This property is a beautiful work in progress. I sure hope I get to revisit it in the future. The reception/cafe counter is also a gatekeeper for the campers who are parked nearby. Not a problem - just an observation. The cafe, which has a limited menu right now, while perfectly adequate at the moment I feel will be a lovely place to visit in the future. Builders are busy putting finishing touches to the high ceilinged room with gorgeous windows looking out to the coast.

We were in a room for three which was located a few minutes from the Viking Cafe. The unit was large, spacious, and had a separate living area. Bathroom was also large and spacious. Small refrigerator and lots of outlets for charging electronics. Large screen TV. Some beautiful touches such as shelves of real wood and leather couches.

A very nice breakfast included.

Amazing location. Very comfortable, clean, spacious and modern room. Free admission to the area’s attractions and breakfast included made this a great choice as well. Check in was slightly confusing at first because of renovations taking place but the staff was super friendly and very helpful. Negative reviews about the staff in past reviews don’t make any sense to me… everyone working there was above and beyond friendly. Highly recommend.

The location is lovely. And that is precisely what felt a bit off about this site. The owners (or investors and owners) of Viking Café Guesthouse seem intent on building a recreational facility that capitalizes on the beauty of the natural environment. But there was no sense of preservation or conservation in the business practices visible to us. Day visitors must pay for access, this is understandable as the property is private. But is any part of that fee returned to nature? We weren't sure. Also, lodging guests and day visitors are given a map with \"trails\" but we didn't see evidence of any trails. Visitors were not cautioned about trampling on areas that could be environmentally sensitive habitat for birds, other fauna, and plants. There was even a part of the \"trail\" that went up and over into the property of an international (NATO) surveillance site. My husband and I opted against including this portion in our walk. The room we were assigned was fairly large and all amenities worked well. Due to the construction of the room (and lack of windows) it feel a bit like the interior of a shipping container instead of a \"guesthouse.\" Items available for breakfast were delicious and plentiful.

The property is undergoing a major upgrade. When done it will be spectacular. Even in its present state it is is very nice, and even if it wasn't, unlike other hotels in the area it is in the the center of such incredible natural wonders that I would stay in a dump to be here. Also the staff is the best!

Had a great stay here. Arrived late but they were great. The Viking village boat and ruins were more than we expected. We had fog, but still enjoyed the walk out to the water. Didn’t have time to do all the hikes. This is well worth the trip and would recommend whether you are staying in the guest house or camping/rving.

This property was nestled in at the base of Vestrahorn mountain. The staff was incredibly accommodating and didn’t mind that we checked in 1 hour after “check in hours.” The rooms were clean and spacious, and the cafe was lovely for dinner and continental style breakfast. Would stay here again!

The location near Vestrahorn mountain was great - the night we stayed, the sky was clear and we got fantastic views of the northern lights. The stay included free entry to the Viking Village and Stokksnes black sand beach (which was one of the nicer beaches we saw on our trip).

The room was simple and not huge, but it was very new and clean. It was perfect for our needs.

A simple breakfast at the café was included with the room, but we opted to also get the waffles and they were terrific.

Not to mention the fact that you are located right under the shadow of Vestrahorn Mountain and access to the beach as well as Viking village is included with your stay! We stayed here for one night on our trip around the ring road in early October. The location is fantastic! We were in one of the newly built rooms (#9) and had a view of Vestrahorn! It was clean, comfortable and quiet. We ate at the cafe and the food was good. Staff were helpful and friendly. The area is unbelievably gorgeous! I would definitely recommend!

Our stay includes multiple entries to Stokksnes which is a great deal. That place is beautiful. Breakfast is fresh, hot and has good selection. We bought sandwiches for the lunch to go. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing is room is a little small. If you were a fit person like me or most Icelanders, you won't have any problem with the shower stall.

Good Place for 1 Night stop !

Highly recommended Viking Cafe and Guesthouse if you are visiting Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Bench. This property has hiking trails of 4 to 6km and we get free access because we are house guests. The Viking Village is right on site. We stayed at room 6, short driiving distance from main cafe. Breakfast was decent and nice. There were fruits, ham, cheese and cinnamon rolls etc. The room is well kept, looks newly renovated, was cosy and comfortable. The bed mattresses are of high quality and we slept well. Do bring your own toiletries for Iceland Trip. The shampoo and body wash bottles were placed on the floor. We had our own toiletries so we were fine. Room has a kettle for your hot drinks.

We used this as a base of operations for our yr stay in Hofn and I would not recommend. This is a good one night stop over - the Stokknes peninsula and Vestrahorn are beautiful and access to the beach and movie set are included in the overnight stay

Cons: There is a 4k gravel road leading in and out of this location that made it difficult to access. While WiFi was available in the cafe, it did not reach our room. We had to go to the cafe for anything internet related. The water pressure in the shower was abysmal. I did not want to wash my hair in the shower because it was such a small trickle.

Pros: Access to the beach and movie set (Witcher blood origin) is included with stay. The room is large. Breakfast is included - standard Iceland though they did have fresh fruit which I appreciated.

Great stay. I keep returning. 2 separate guesthouses. One is with simple and standard rooms in the same building as the cafe and facilities for camper vans. Second is with family rooms and a short distance drive away for even more serenity and quietness.

We were in Iceland during a bad storm and the road to get to Höfn and the Viking Cafe was closed. We physically could not get there even if we did want to drive in the storm. Despite contacting the hotel and Expedia, no one would refund us. I guess they wanted us to cross a closed road to get to the hotel? Ridiculous

One of the best stays of our trip

Wonderful stay! We felt so welcome upon arrival. We were walked to our room and when they found out we had to leave early before breakfast, they prepared a to-go bag of fruit, bread and jam, cinnamon rolls, croissants, yogurt, ham, and juice. It was so much food and such a nice gesture to make sure we were taken care of. The desserts offered in the cafe were so good - definitely try the carrot cake! We also ate dinner at the Cafe; the sandwiches were delicious and everything was so fresh. Highly recommend staying here. It is simple accommodations with the most beautiful landscape and wonderful, personal customer service, and inexpensive too. We had one issue where the door would not stay shut without being locked, as it seemed to have a problem that needed to be corrected, but it was minor.
