After a long day exploring Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and ice caves, this stay felt like a reward. This guesthouse was truly one of our favorites of the entire trip.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful—especially pointing us toward nearby laundry facilities, which was a lifesaver mid-trip. Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate made it even easier to unwind.
The room was stunning—modern, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. We loved the loft-style layout, built-in storage for luggage and coats, and the spa-like bathroom with a powerful rain shower. The large windows were perfect for Northern Lights viewing.
Breakfast leaned more continental (pastries, breads, cold cuts) rather than hot items, but everything was fresh and satisfying. Bonus: a delicious homemade carrot cake from the front desk staff! Great location for exploring Höfn—maps at the front desk were super helpful. We also enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Pakkhús Restaurant and loved strolling the charming town (don’t miss the rainbow street).

The property is right outside of the town proper. It is easily accessible, the family room was a nice space to spread out, and have a little breathing room for us and the kiddos. Breakfast was wonderful. We were able to watch the aurora from the parking lot, but we chose to drive to the end of town (about 5 minutes) to watch it over the bay without additional lights.

Creative themed guesthouse as a Milk Factory with private bathrooms at the entrance to the town of Hofn. We had a mountain view room which was in front of a pasture of Icelandic horses for a beautiful view. The room was minimalist, but comfortable. We did have minor challenges with the wifi going in and out. The coffee, water, and tea bar was available at all times of the day which was nice. The continental breakfast was okay. This is a good town to stop, especially to try the Iceland lobsters.

I gave this hotel a one star because doors on the rooms are absolutely horrendous and SLAM shut. You will get very little good sleep here. All night all I heard was SLAM SLAM SLAM SLAM. And about 5:30AM, it started again. SLAM SLAM SLAM SLAM as people left there rooms. The doors must not have any mechanism to allow a soft closure. The main function of a hotel is to allow it's guests to have a good nights sleep. I complained to the front desk when i was checking out and he understood the doors were a problem so evidently I'm not the only one. Bottom line, if you can sleep through doors slamming every 10 minutes or so, then it's a good hotel for you. If not, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
