Lovely little guesthouse, only concern was the size of the bedrooms, they are very small. We were only staying one night so it was okay but if staying longer you might want a bit more room. Restaurants right across the street so very convenient.

A pleasant surprise

Our group has two couples. Somehow we booked the same room for the same night. We got a pleasant surprise when the hotel upgrade our booking and gave us an almost brand-new suite with two bedrooms, a full kitchen and a bathroom. We were very happy to stay at such a nice place after a long day of sightseeing.

We had a lovely 1 night stay in the studio apartment. Easy to understand check-in instructions & directions were sent a couple days ahead of time. Nice clean studio apartment with small kitchen & bathroom, very convenient location near main restaurants in Höfn. Only wish they had left the sofa bed as a sofa, given we were only 2 people. We could not figure out how to close it and would have liked to sit on it.

We were a large family group and had the all the main and upper rooms. It was perfect for us! Very clean, and bathrooms and kitchen were modern and well-equiped. Good restaurants and grocery nearby and plenty of parking.

The location was wonderful, and the property was very nice. The second floor room was difficult to get to for older people, hard for luggage. If I had known it was second floor, I would have booked elsewhere. The common area was cramped with eight people eating at the same time. I definitely would book again, if I could select a first floor room.

Great sized room for 4 people. Nice kitchen area, and located right next to the docks. The restaurant down the street has amazing lobster rolls. It’s basically an extra large hotel room with a kitchen area

Good location, close to restaurant and walking distance to the port.
Clean and comfy! My kids like the cereal and cookie provided in the room. Very thoughtful idea. Easy to check in and out.
Only thing is that the parking lot is not enough and we have to park and other people park behind us, block our way completely.
Overall a nice place to stay and will recommend.

Loved the location right in town and across from the wonderful Pakkhus restaurant. Very nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Lovely kitchen which we didn't use but great room to play cards. Easy checkin using information sent via e:mail.

Parking is tight and we had to take out luggage before backing into a VERY tight spot (only one left). Thankfully we had a small car. Not sure if people were parked there who weren't staying. The sign saying it's for their parking is very small and only appears to include one spot.

Nice apartement. The shared bathroom is clean and big. One problem was we heard the upstairs people walk and talk. When they walked, I could hear exactly where they put their feet. If you are not a light sleeper, this apartement is good.

Guesthouse Dyngja was our favorite accommodation on our recent ring road trip. It is right in the middle of town, with 4 restaurants less than a block away, plenty of parking, and offered an easy walk out the edge of the harbor (good for sunset). Very modern/up to date furnishings and everything is spotless (probably recently renovated because everything just seemed new). Beautiful large pix of south Iceland sites on the wall. We met several other families also staying there and the shared kitchen area was plenty big enough for multiple groups to share the space along with a very large shared refridgerator. Coordination on arrival (via code) was straightforward. Generally, we also just liked Hofn a lot as well (especially on a clear day when the glaciers are visible in the distance!)

Great spot right at the Hofn harbor

You’d be lucky to snag the studio apartment while in Hofn. It’s nicer than the photos — spacious, modern and clean. The kitchen is stocked with cookies, tea and instant coffee. The shower water pressure is adequate but not strong. The only negatives were the bed pillows are too thick and the porch light is on all night with light coming around the blackout shades.

The room was bright, airy and clean. It was next to a Main Street but there was no traffic at night. We had a nice little patio for coffee and a view of the harbor. Lots of little extra’s in the room made us feel at home. We wanted to stay another night. We loved the coffee machine!

Cute little apartment. Close to food. Offered some yummy oatmeal chocolate cookies. Middle of the night the drain pipe fell off the bathroom sink. Looked quite plugged (yuck). Only sink so was interesting getting ready the next morning. Tried to call office twice with no answer.

We had a great stay here! The location was great and the space was modern, clean, and overall lovely. The host was very accomodating with our late check-in, as our day included lots of driving and we didn't specifically know our timing as we wanted to make sure we didn't miss anything along our route. :) Weould recommend!

We stayed in the studio apartment and they left us the key in a lockbox so we never met any of the staff. Wasnt a bad thing. Area is very convenient and has so many good dining options literally across the street. Room was clean and had most of everything we needed. Great hot water and water pressure. The room could use a TV though. Not alot of options in Höfn but id definitely stay there again

The reception is a bit confusing they just leave the key for you and you have to work things out for yourself, their needs to be clearer instruction. Most people arriving were confused for a bit. I was lucky I arrived early at 2.30 pm so someone was there to explain a few things

We came in late and a little disorganized (our apologies to the host), but the host quickly and cheerfully checked us in and got us settled. The place was clean and appeared recently renovated.

Centrally located in Hofn, near the harbor and visitors center, the hotel has great views over the water.

Very reasonable price for the area. This may be because the road in front is being rebuilt (no noise trouble at night though), making it a little difficult to find the way to the hotel and the parking behind.

Location is the best you can get in Hofn. Its a little annoying to have to take your shoes off every time to step in or out of the place. Be aware there is only one bathroom on the floor that is shared. The owner does make an effort to put a sign for all guests to respect the time in the bathroom and keep it short, but that doesn't mean all guests will be considerate. You may not be able to use the bathroom when you like, you may have to wait 30 or more minutes as we did. Seems like the owners can maybe do something more than one small unnoticeble paper in the bathroom. Perhaps say it multiple times during the checkin.... keep it short. Respect other guests. This is the main problem with the \"guesthouse\" situation in Iceland.

Comfortable guesthouse right next to the harbour

Lovely little guesthouse right on the harbour with a very friendly welcome from the hosts! The only slight downside is that our room was only accessible from the kitchen which meant a bit of noise in the morning whilst other guests had breakfast. However, as we were also getting up quite early for excursions, this wasn't too much of an issue. Rooms were bright and spacious with parking right outside. The owner recommended some great restaurants too. Would happily recommend.

The owner Sievor was very personable and friendly on our arrival and also the following night. The guesthouse was clean and well equipped with lovely views across the harbour to the fishing boats. the location was quiet too with no noises at night. Ideally located close to the pool, supermarket and 2 great restaurants. We were very happy with our stay here.

Owner is nice but seems have a tight budget.
1.Breakfast is limited to a tray of 2 pieces of ham, cheese, 1 cup of yogurt, 1 egg, 1 apple, 1 banana PER room, which kept in the refrigerator. Plus bread, jam, cereals. Milk, juice is limited quantities. If you are the last couple to eat breakfast, you may ends up with very little choices, and your tray may be taken by some guest who didn't aware it's for 1 room, not for 1 person. Luckily I am the first one and told the second couple when they took 2 trays out from the frig.
2. I am a go green person, I always reuse towel. When I asked about bath towels, she said the towel is FOR 2 days ( we stayed for 2 nights), sounds like she is not going to give me a new one when needed.

Ok for Hofn, but would choose differently next tim

Sharing a house with strangers can lead to strange behavior. Some of the people staying in the house chose to make dinner at 11pm banging pots and dishes around til about midnight. That wasn't super enjoyable.

The girl staying in the next room apparently didn't understand how to multitask and needed to enter and exit the bathroom near our room about 27 times while preparing for bed. Meanwhile we sat waiting to brush our teeth and wash our faces.

Lastly, we came down in the morning for breakfast to find someone had eaten our breakfast tray.

So, basically reinforces why I don't typically stay at spots like this. You're relying on people to possess common courtesy and more often than not they don't.

Restaurant across the street was very good though. Humarhofnin.

We booked the room that had its own bathroom so we didn't have a shared one. It was huge!!!! The stuff was very friendly and helpful. They had the breakfast in the fridge and the table in the room so we didn't have to go upstairs to have it. Also the location is perfect since we had dinner just across from the hotel.

Saubere, ruhige und gut ausgestattete Wohnung (Studio 1).
Nachteilig ist, dass jeder in die Wohnung schauen kann. Wir hatten die Verdunklungsrollos die gesamte Zeit unten. Die Parkplätze des Gästehauses wurden auch durch Nicht-Gäste genutzt, dadurch gab es nicht immer einen Parkplatz. Eventuell kann man die Parkplätze besser markieren als privat.
