Due to weather conditions, I was unable to make my reservation. Roads were closed both directions to the location. When weather conditions arose, I reached out to the property. Since I am traveling out of country, I have no cellphone service to call so I used the messaging feature through Expedia. After multiple attempts to reach the property with no success I went through Expedia and the property is refusing to give me a refund or waiver even though roads were closed. When I was able to drive to the town a day after my reservation, I even tried to go to the property to speak to someone and the reception area was so confusing and all the doors were locked I couldn’t speak to anyone. I am very disappointed I couldn’t even contact the property as I would have been open to staying the next night but due to poor communication I had to find accommodations elsewhere.

Parking was free and easily accessible! Nice size rooms and pretty clean. The only downside is this property is advertised as having laundry services, but we were unable to locate any and the host did not respond when inquiring. The bathroom was nice though and well cleaned.

We managed to access our room ok no.7 tv did not work. 1 bedside lamp didn't work.Shortage of loo rolls. No wash up liquid. Coffee pods available 1st night/ morning second night none. On second night 2 different couples and 1 lady on her own could not access their rooms they could not get a reply from either one of the phone numbers they tried. We checked our numbers which were the same and we tried also with no reply. One couple called their agent who gave them another hotel to go to. This morning cleaner said all rooms were occupied. (Double booked maybe). Washing facilities were insufficient considering no. of guests meaning if 2 people were showering then there were no loo's available so a few people were desperate in the morning. Kitchen lacking in size but equipment good, added bonus of an air fryer.

Easy to do the self-check in required with code and key access. Room was alright, had enough of what you needed. The room I was provided had a broken outlet (cover was falling off of the wall and the outlet itself was broken in half). Otherwise, the property was relatively clean (considering it's a hostel type situation with other people using the amenities like the bathroom).

It’s a convenient location for a short stop along Route 1. Simple accommodation- several separate bedrooms and two shared bathrooms and a small kitchen. All in all it was a pleasant stay for a night.

Well I walked into our room and it was x3 single beds not a queen bed that it says on the booking and minging unclean cutlery and pots ; checkout time on website says 11am but inside the owner has wrote 10am On a sheet and no mention that you have to take shoes off which is really annoying which would of made me not book in the first place ; I wouldn’t of booked this place if I knew it was gonna be like this ! DISGUSTING kitchen and no way of contactin

Bathrooms were a bit dirty when we got there hours after check in but that’s not the hosts problem (was spotless when we checked in early the second time staying)

I stayed in a single room with shared WC. WC shower was old and grungy, toilet tank and sink were missing parts. No toiletries as mentioned, were provided unless you were first in the shower to use the 1 ounce containers. Parts are updated but the single room looked like it was stuck in the 1980’s, random furniture. It was just ok. For the amt paid it was just ok, if not below average.

While this property was clean, the bathrooms were not clean, and there were only 2 bathrooms for 6 rooms which housed multiple people. This was extremely inconvenient. The walls are paper thin, and we could hear everything. The hotel is in a great location, but I don’t think I’d stay there again.

This guesthouse was nice and comfortable. Coffee and tea available in the kitchen.
One item on the amenities list said spring water bath. This translates into simply a bathtub. Nothing special about it, just a bathtub you fill up with the tap water. As far as icelandic accomodations, a bathtub is a rare find, most are tiny little cubicle showers.

What a Bargain!

Clean room and bathroom, nicely stocked kitchen, parking right outside, very quiet, respectful housemates. My GPS had a little trouble finding it, and the sign is a bit hard to see at night. For the, it was exceptional!

There is no reception. Push the intercom then someone will come and assist to check in. Or else it might be good idea to call first if you know your expected arrival time or late arrival. 1st stay in shared bathroom and kitchen. A little bit inconvenient especially for bathroom but it was expected so it’s fine. 6 rooms sharing 2 bathrooms. In smaller bathroom, the shower temperature seems to be uncontrollable, it always hot and too hot for us. The bed is comfortable. Simple breakfast i.e. bread, cereals, milk, cheese, biscuit which are good.

This isn't a hotel

It was probably my fault for not reading the full description of the place while booking. This isn't a hotel, but rather a guesthouse. What this means is - two bathrooms shared for an entire floor, taking your shoes off and leaving them at the entrance of the building, and a general lack of amenities. The TV didn't really work - all channels but one would show a \"missing encoder\" error message, and there was a musty smell to the room.
If this is what you are looking for, then this place would work nicely. If, however, you are after a more traditional hotel-like experience, look elsewhere.

Cute little place. Relatively affordable for this region of Iceland. Has a small, but great kitchen with a big fridge, stove, etc, two bathrooms for a few rooms. They even provide a bit of breakfast which was appreciated. Right next door to a big grocery store. About an hour to the iceberg lagoons.

Convenient for those who feels like staying in town centre. Owner is not at the reception, but he reach within 10mins after i pressed the intercom. Breakfast is self service with basic meals. Accommodation abit small.

Good clean spot. Shared bathroom situation turned out just fine. There are 2 for the 6 rooms. Really liked the common dining area and kitchen as the rooms are small. Got here about 8 pm on a cold cold day and had to wait 5 min or so for the guy to come let us in but he was very friendly and helpful and told us he was available at any time should we need him simply by ringing the doorbell/intercom thing as it is connected to his cell phone. Great spot overall.

A cozy guesthouse well situated in Hofn. Within walking distance to the public swimming pool. Rooms were quite tight - my partner and I couldn't both have our suitcases open at the same time - but the living room was very spacious. Lots of room to cook, relax, play cards or read a book. Clean and well maintained. Thanks.

Wonderful oasis and perfect ideal stay

Höfn Guesthouse was definitely our favorite place to stay for our entire trip! We immediately were made to feel at home and were warmly welcomed. There was everything we needed and all the rooms are obviously new and clean. We had had a long day of traveling - wonderful but still tiring - and the guesthouse was the perfect antidote to feeling warm, at home, and relaxed. We hope to visit again!

Great for a stop over

We were passing through Hofn and decided to stay at this guest house, we weren't disappointed. The annex building was spectacularly clean and very comfortable. There were two very well maintained bathrooms for the ppl in this building to share and it never became an issue re: timing on our particular stay. Also a fridge to store any perishables you may be carrying which was great for us. We were able to save a lot of $$ staying here vs. a hotel and would recommend to adults traveling without kids.

Don't come here.

No one answered at reception when we arrived. Call button appeared to forward to different cell numbers and both appeared to be on the phone and did not answer. We tried for 10-15 minutes with no response. Called the contact number. That was busy too. Were about to leave another couple arrived and we tried again and someone finally responded and arrived 10 minutes later. Said the system was not working and would be fixed soon. When we went to the room, we were asked if we could pay cash because their machine was not working. We did have not have the cash and so she took our email address to have the mananger contact us later for payment details. Wifi only worked within 2 meters of the from door, far from our room. That too was apparently getting fixed soon, but in the meantime, we needed to stand at the door to use it. \"Was that OK?\" She asked

No, none of this was OK. Poorly run, poorly maintained. Very, very disappointing.

I liked the spacious and clean room that we stayed in. There were two bathrooms, maintained very nicely, so sharing with other guests was less stressful compared to other guesthouses in Iceland.
The walls are thin so you can hear the hallways quite clearly.
The bed was very comfy to sleep in!

Overall we enjoyed our stay here :)

This guesthouse was extremely clean and in a great position to walk to town for dinner.

Nice Stay in Hofn

We stayed in a shared guesthouse in Hofn during our trip around Iceland's Ring Road in June. The guesthouse was located right next to a grocery store. We were also only a 10 minute walk from some of the more popular restaurants in Hofn. The room was among 3 or 4 other rooms also occupied by other guests. When we arrived our room was clean as well as the two shared bathrooms and shared kitchen area. We were provided with access to dining ware, a refrigerator, and some snacks. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Guesthouse and for the price you can't beat it if you are an economy traveller. It also gave us easy access to the National Park. I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone.

Someone came from offsite to check us in once we called, but she was prompt and gave us a quick tour of our building. There was a small shared kitchen with coffee, microwave, fridge, etc. Our room was cute and comfy with good heat. It would have been nice to have a sink in the room. The location was walking distance to the harbor with restaurants and next to a grocery store. Our building had two bathrooms for 4-5 rooms, which was adequate.

Nice decorated guesthouse with superb view

I had an excellent 2-day stay with my family there. The mountain view, especially the room at the corner of 2nd floor, was very picturesque. There are 4 shared bathrooms and they are all very clean and nicely decorated. The common area and the kitchen were also very neat. The guesthouse was located at the hill where the road ended with sufficient parking and it was very quiet. Yet, the town is not big and you can access restaurants with even walkable distance. We were also fortunate to see Northern Lights clearly for both days of my stay! I will definitely recommend this guesthouse.

Nous étions logés dans le batiment des chambres économiques. Il est plutôt bien équipée : une cuisine avec des ustensiles et condiments de base, thé, café, etc…
Notre chambre était confortable et équipée d’une table et des chaises pour les repas.
Il y a 2 salles de bain pour 6 chambres, c’est un peu juste, il faut parfois attendre.
Le rapport qualité/prix est très correcte pour l’Islande.

Seul bémol dont l’établissement n’est pas responsable : certaines personnes ne sont pas propres et ne respectent pas les règles de bienséance (comme faire sa vaisselle). D’autres laissaient la porte de leur chambre ouverte, on pouvait donc entendre les conversations jusqu’à tard.
Quelqu’un a inondé une salle de bain et a provoqué une fuite dans les toilettes (ce n’était pas comme ça à notre arrivée)
