This hotel was ok, but the room was very outdated and absolutely tiny. Staff was nice, and the breakfast was pretty standard. There is no elevator so you will have to carry your luggage upstairs.

We loved staying at this hotel. It was a beautiful setting where we were able to see two Glaciers from our window. When we finally arrived at the hotel after driving for 5 hours, we were exhausted, but dinner revived us—the lamb and Arctic char dishes were amazing! My husband said it was the best lamb he had ever tasted, and I agreed! We were so glad that we decided to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a good night sleep, and we were ready to go hiking nearby Glaciers. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks for hosting us!

There were very few lodging options for the Hofn area as I booked last minute. I have always been satsified with Fosshotel facilities before, so I decided on this one despite the extreme expense. I realized once I arrived at the beautiful room that it was very expensive because it was a suite. I loved everything about it until it came time to sleep. 3 young men in the room below me kept me awake all night. I complained to the front desk and she spoke with them, but the noise continued until it was time for me to get up.

The best sleep in this whole trip! Mattress felt like my own and same is the blanket. We booked a family room with two king size bed and two bathrooms (one is extremely large). The breakfast is standard, staff are very friendly! Talked to us about their experience coming to Iceland and offered travelling advice in her own country! Will definitely stay again!

Good hotel to stay at especially with the glacier view in the distance.

My qualm is I think the hotel is due for renovation - seems older with old carpets and bathroom tile grout. Stayed at another Foss hotel on a previous trip and that one was way newer and cleaner. Other qualm is I think they forgot to add bedsheets. We were too tired to ask for them and just slept.

But staff are amazing, welcoming and respectful - it’s why we know Foss Hotel is one of Iceland’s best hotel companies in Iceland.

Beautiful setting with exceptional staff

We arrived late (10:00) and had a quick check-in. Parking was tight, but we found a spot. Room was comfortable and clean; access to the outdoors by sliding door was a fantastic plus. The highlight of the stay were the staff, however. We sat for a couple hours and chatted with the bartender (Polish fellow whose name I've forgotten) and receptionist (Mika), both of who were charming and just lovely people. Those are the kinds of experiences that make international travel memorable.

No screens on the windows and mosquitos/biting bug in the area, so staff asked that we keep windows closed. A very hot night. Shower was tiny and stinky. Old, black out curtains didn't block 30% of the light. Not a great room and this was the most expensive hotel on our trip at above $325 for a night. Front staff was not friendly upon arrival. Checking out was fine. Find another accommodation.

The hotel was nice and the staff friendly. They make a good latte not from an automatic machine. Shower in the room had an odd placement as it was a split shower/toilet in two separate locations. You exit shower directly to sleeping area which was odd. Overall though, nice hotel and would stay here again.

This hotel is clean and the staff is friendly but the area we stayed in, which may have been the old part of the building, was very dated feeling. The room was quite a let-down. The bathroom was tiny-could barely fit in the shower. Breakfast was expensive and very average. The views were lovely.

This was a good hotel to stay at but the food was way overpriced.
The layout of the room was unique. The shoer was in a sperate room from the toilet and sink, which helped 2 people get ready at once. I liked that part.

The hotel is very nice. The breakfast was great. It has incredible views but best of all, on my two nights I was able to see some of the best Northern Lights from the parking lot. The hotel is a bit far from other places so that helped a lot to see the northern lights. I would definitely stay at the hotel again. The girls at the reception and the bar were too kind. I give them a 10/10

I’ve requested a clean room with better view. Though no guarantee, how come the reception arranged a room with a metal scaffold outside the window without prior notification & my consent ? I found this when I checked the room. The way out is to get curtain down throughout the stay.

Next morning, workers on the scaffold made peace and quiet gone. Repair is necessary but downgraded my room charging at the same room rate, ridiculous!!

A male staff who looks like the Manager, was rude. He pointed to me to instruct me stop photo taking capturing other guests. Again, ridiculous!! There were so many guests that day, that means no picture or he should help clear the venue for guests who need photo taking?

This hotel was the poorest one in my Iceland trip for 12 night-stay. THE POOREST!

Hotel room was a weird design. The toilet/sink on one side and the shower only on the other side where the office area was. This means you leave your toiletries on one side and take a shower on the other side and walk out in your towel into the office area! It was very cramped for me & my husband and were not large at all. I would not stay here again. Location was nice but had to drive about 15 minutes to eat out. The hotel restaurant had limited selection and average price for entree was about $48 USD.

Property in clean condition although the electric car charger wasn’t functional and the staff had no information about it

Beautiful, New, & they Do Laundry

Our View could see a Waterfall, in the nearby Mountain on one side, & the next morning the Glacier was Visible from the other side when there was Clear Skies!

We did a load of laundry, & it was Handled with Care! Loved this service, & the Front Desk Lady!! Wish I would have saved her name.

The Food is Delicious, & just like the rest of Iceland… a little Expensive.

The Hoffel Hot Tubs are a short drive, & were a Nice end to our Long Day of Hiking.

We would stay here again!

A very beautiful property in a stunning part of Iceland. Our rooms were spectacular. The breakfast was excellent. However it is the staff that makes the hotel a special place. Make sure to check out the Pakkhus Restaurant in nearby Hofn.

However, we found the bathroom smelling of cigarette and we did mention it to the management that the cleaning staff should have taken notice.

We wanted an iron/ironing board and we were surprised to learn that they do not have any.

It is a good place to spend the night but we expect a bit better service for the money that was charged. Given the service, I would say its overpriced

More consideration on architectual style than function. Very nice hotel but lacking in consideration for how guests function.

Separate shower facing bed with glass door - no private dressing area.
Did have a fridge that was old and rattled
Had a nice deck but was shared with room next door that you could see into

The setting is ideal, it's such a great place to escape. The bar/lounge area is the best place to enjoy sunset with a cocktail (happy hour is 6-7 every day). The breakfast was great, the dinner was shockingly delicious. The room could use an update (our bench was broken but we didn't care enough to say anything about it while we were there so that's on us) but also has everything you need. Would stay here again!

The view from our room was spectacular. We were in a corner suite with a lot of windows. We loved the town of Höfn as well and wish we had more time to explore. I did find the room to be in bad condition as far as the furniture. The couch was cloth. It was covered in stains and smelled badly. It made us uncomfortable to lounge in the suite that we paid extra for.

We stayed one night. The property was clearly given a superficial update: the lobby, facade, dining area, but everything beyond that was very dated and worn out. The brown carpet in the hallways was very worn, the room and bathroom finishes were outdated and not in the best of shape. If you are a side sleeper I might skip this hotel as the beds are incredibly firm. The shower in our room did not drain and the walls were paper thin, everything downstairs and the room next door could be heard. Breakfast was good. The only appeal of this property is the view from the dining room.
