The view of the glacier is stunning. The skylight and large window were perfect for viewing the northern lights. The hosts made us feel special on our honeymoon by hanging a congratulations banner. The room is large and the cooktop, tea kettle, and dishes were great for preparing a few meals.

Hotel was fine for one night, host just does not respond to messages on the app regarding our late checkout request. I was a bit let down by the limited hot water usage sign in the bathroom. This was not made clear during time of booking.

Great view of Northern lights…. Please consider having other cabins’ outdoor lights turn off on a timer after a certain timeframe - we couldn’t figure out how to turn ours off. Also, the coffee pot leaks despite following instructions

This is the perfect stay when visiting the diamond beach and glacier lagoon. There is an amazing langostine restaurant just 30 minutes up the road making this a convenient and affordable accommodation. The cabin was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a fully stocked kitchenette.

We had a great stay at the property. It’s conveniently located on our way to Hofn. Check in was seamless. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. There’s a small kitchen area to cook for dinner and breakfast.

Loved being able to see the glaciers and lupine through the window. Perfect little spot. Beds were comfortable!! Room was warm!! The sheep woke us up chatting in the morning (that’s a good thing, they are so cute!!). Little kitchenette was stocked with exactly what we needed to prepare a small meal for two. Mini fridge! Shower was great. Just have to keep showers short but that was fine.

View is amazing, the place is very nice, we loved it. It would have been nice to have a microwave but we managed. The hot water is limited so we would get wet turn the water off to soap up then rinse off again to ensure we both had hot water. I would recommend this place to people.

This property is a gem of Iceland. The property is easy to find - the conods are the structures in the area. Driving from West to East - just turn left after the glacier foot - can't miss them! :D
I received my entry code both in messages in e-mail and Expedia. The room was cozy, quiet, and serene. The kitchenette was much appreciated and included instructions for confused foreign tourists.
My only (ultra-picky) complaints came from the desire for more bathroom shelf space, a shower wash cloth, and a roll of paper towel for kitchen spills.

I look forward to staying here again and the view from the back will forever be a warm memory in my heart.

Cute, modern, convenient

This was a cool place. Simple, cool clean lines. The units have a black exterior to match the general Icelandic vibe / volcanic roots and culture. The kitchenette with a fridge and little hot plate type set up seems like it would be useful. If you go to Höfn for dinner, Otto Matur and Drykkur was amazing, cute, quaint. The big picture window allowed for a beautiful view of the mountains and glacier, would have been nice had the northern lights been visible too. It’s about 30 minutes to Hofn which has a good number of restaurants or 30 minutes the other direction for diamond beach. Definitely would consider staying here again.

It is clean and a great spot for catching aurora as there are many windows in the home - but we did not read the reviews beforehand and when we reached the welcome book said 5 minutes of hot water shower which isn’t great after we drove for 7 hours. The limitation of hot water is too short, my wife couldn't wash her hair during our stay there as she has long and thick hair which would definitely use up that 5 mins hot water and we would not want to shower in cold water in winter and fall sick during our holiday trip. Hope the host can extend the hot water duration so that the stay there is more enjoyable as it is definitely a nice cabin.
30mins would be easier to manage; 5mins felt like we’re in a military camp while on holiday 😭

Cozy, clean cabins with all basic amenities needed. Beds really comfy. Cabin nice and warm (stayed in December), hot water with good pressure. Self check-in was clearly explained and very simple. A WhatsApp number is given in arrival info in case of any issues. We cooked a simple meal in the cabin and enjoyed a cozy night in watching the Northern Lights through the fab picture window!

This was by far my favorite stay! The location was perfect, close to great restaurants, and the place was spotless. The view from my room was amazing, and I especially loved the heated floors in the bathroom —they were such a nice touch.

Overall is ok, 30min drive from the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and close to Höfn for grocery. A very quiet area with glacier outlets surrounding.

The cabin a little bit small if you have some luggages to open.

The cleanliness of the cooking utensil, pots and pans depend on the previous traveller occupied the cabin, given there is no dishwasher.

The water supply is limited and hot water runs from a small electric boiler. You need to wait a while after another person has taken a hot shower.

The last thing is just happened the window behind our bed could not completely shut when the lock was turned completely into lock position, the wind gust went through tiny gap causing loud noise. We had to work around by turning the lock slightly just before the release position to keep the window shut. That lock handle probably needs fixing.

A little off the beaten path, but in between Diamond Beach and Hofn. There is no reception area. Therefore, do not expect any amenities that come with that assistance or common space. Rooms are private and spacious. Bathrooms are tights though. The rooms come with a large window that gave us a fantastic view of the Northern Lights all night long. The remoteness of the hotel provides those dark skies.
Great spot overall, especially if you know what to expect when you arrive.

Our stay here was okay. We really liked the view and how big the windows were as well as the ceiling window, it made for a great way to see the stars and the northern lights. However, some things were not the most comfortable such as the pillows (provided 2 pillows but they were extremely flat), the window in our unit was not totally closed/sealed and the knob was locked so it seemed that the window had a bit of a flaw as it let a lot of cold air in and one of the days we stayed in was very windy so it made for a very cold night as we could feel the cold wind get in over our heads since the beds were above the window, have to time our showers since hot water is limited, and lastly, could smell the sceptic tank outside the unit at the parking area. Host were very responsive to our questions though and they seemed like nice people.

We had a mixed experience with the cottage, mostly due to the storm outside. This caused a lot of noise inside, which kept us from a good night's sleep.
The cottage itself was good, but some of the amenities were kept to the bare minimum.
For example, there's only 5 minutes of warm water in the shower. The kitchen had only 2 glasses, 2 knives, 2 forks and so on. This could have been a bit more generous.

Check in was very easy. Room was clean with a stocked kitchenette. Nice big widows to be able to see the mountains while laying in bed. However the shower was so small I could not wash properly. Also there was not a tv and wifi was too weak to watch anything on my phone/tablet. It was so hot that we had to sleep with the window cracked. However there is a fan in the room. Good thing or it would have been unbearable. The closest town is about 20 mins away. Overall not my favorite.

There was no hot water in the shower. There being no staff on prem there is no fix. Only option is WhatsApp to owners. Sent a message at 9.30 am and got a response at 4.00 in the afternoon (after we had checked out). No apologies only a “thank you for letting us know”.

Great little cabin!

Beautiful little room with a small kitchen, patio/chairs, and a great window with a view of a glacier. Close to some great attractions, but nice and quiet for some good sleep. The owner was very responsive to our questions and they have a little dossier about the area which was helpful.

The place is very clean and new with amazing views of the glacier. The kitchen and bathroom are adequate, tho the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. The only improvement I would suggest is to have nets on the windows against the bugs and midges or to provide a window fan (midges can't fly in wind). There is standing water nearby which provides conditions for midges. We were there on an unusually warm day and since the house is exposed, the inside temperature was 27C (80F). No fans are available, so we had to open the windows. We got an incredible amount of midge bites. This made our stay very unpleasant.

Excellent spot to stay. Medium sized guesthouses (size is similar to shipping container) on beautiful land. Views are outstanding. Grazing sheep will be the soundtrack for your dreams.
Check-in is simple and easy, one doesnt even have to see anyone else. We arrived after 2AM and quietly entered our unit. Blackout curtains did their job, and we slept easily.
Higly recommended.
