Lari beya is a small locally owned resort. They staff is great and the general vibe could not be better.
Its quiet and the grounds and location are splendid. This resort is across from the moorimgs charter base, it is not in the small town of placencia. It is approximately 15 to 20 minute taxi ride away.
They do have a fleet of golf carts they will rent you so you can get around and drive into the town as you wish.
I highly recommend this place unless your goal is to get drunk in the bars in the town... you would be better off gutting a room at a hotel in the town so you cohld stumble home ! That said, word is the drinks at lari beya are really good :)

we loved being on the beach. They give you bottle water in your room, which we loved! The town is about 5 min away. We saw parrots and hummingbirds on the resort! The entire staff is amazing! If you can walk over the seaweed into the ocean....the ocean is warm and amazing!

Stayed for 2 nights, 1 in a deluxe oceanview and the second in a suite as we were upgraded.
Suite was very good, room was good.
Property was good, nice pool and restaurant. Don't feel all-inclusive would be worth the cost. Stayed a la carte was better value. Good location to town, good service from the staff

Very good stay. We were upgraded to an oceanview suite for the first night. Amazing. The second we had a delux room which was also nice but a step down.
Great private patio with ocean views. Hammocks.
Dinner was good. We were not on the all-inclusive package so the value was good. Im not sure the additional 440 per night is worth it.

Laru Beya is a quaint, pretty and friendly resort. It was very quiet when we went, during rainy season. The rooms are HUGE and feel more like a condo than a hotel room with full, well-equipped kitchens. The rooms were sparkling clean and well-air conditioned. The pool is also kept very very clean. The staff was very friendly, from housekeeping to restaurant staff. We especially enjoyed Nelsy, who addressed us by name throughout our visit and was incredibly sweet and genuine. It is nice to have a car when staying here (Placencia rental car is walking distance) or to rent a golf cart (same price), as it's about 3 mi. from Placencia Village and perhaps 12 miles to Maya Beach to the north. . You can also use the resort's bikes to get to nearby Publix grocery. Overall, a beautiful property with warm, welcoming people!

Laru Beya is a quiet resort situated on the beach and surrounded by palm trees and well kept gardens. It is an ideal location for families, couples and singles of all ages. The staff are wonderful and are determined to make your stay the very best. Mildred will assist with trips and tours, Emery, Santiago and Nelsey take care of your food and drink needs at the on-site restaurant (The Quarterdeck). Our room was well taken care of daily by Ms. \"J\" with fresh towels for personal and beach use every day. Bikes (free) and golf carts (fee) are available for travel into Placencia, Seine Bight is a short walk from the resort. Book your tours through the resort, they are cheaper than the other tour operators and Simon Pau is hands down the best guide.

Staff is wonderful, rooms are really large with all the amenities to include full stove and fridge, nice deck with hammock and chairs - overall very comfortable (and grocery store is a 15 min walk down the road). But people can make or break your stay - Mildred who is at the front desk, is great. We spent a week sailing first with the Moorings and she arranged for our luggage to be moved while we were at Xunantunich. Nice pool area and restaurant/bar with welcoming crew. Wish I had one more day here!

Small resort, very clean and well maintain. Seems at times as if it is your own little paradise. Everyone goes out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible. From the staff knowing your name, to assisting you with scheduling rides into town or answering questions about the traditions and culture of this part of Belize. As well as assisting you with your menu choices in the restaurant.

The staff of Laru Beya make this resort. They knew our names when we arrived, and introduced themselves to offer to do whatever they could to make our stay effortless, peaceful and fully enjoyable.

If you are looking for a wild and crazy beach party with lots of noise, this is probably not the place for you. This was the perfect place for us to enjoy the ocean and pool, and it is also close enough to Placencia to rent a golf cart and go into town.

Our room was outstanding, and had everything we needed. The cleaning staff were generally very good about coming in and getting everything tidied up while we were at breakfast at the Quarterdeck. The only exception to that was when we came back a little early while they were decorating our room for my birthday. The extra care that went into that was just over the top!

There are other restaurant choices within a golf cart ride, but the Quarterdeck is really the only place you need to go. The other places were fine, but not as personal and the food wasn't any better anyplace else we tried. Having this restaurant on site is a great feature.

We liked being at a smaller resort and would certainly come back again. Other things that you need to be aware of when considering Laru Beya is that it is north of Placencia, so you will need transportation to go into town. You CAN drink the water. Transport is to/from the Placencia airfield. Beer means Belikin (very good). And unfortunately you can't take the staff with you.

My husband and I selected Laru Beya for his birthday and was totally pleased and so impressed by the beauty, cleanliness, spaciousness and awesome beach front views. The staff was excellent to the point that our luggage that was delayed for four (4) out of our five (5) days stay was not missed (LoL). The breakfast and lunch at the onsite restaurant was delicious. I must mention two of the village Angels, Awat and Raymond, who got me back to the resort because I fell off my bike and need stitches. We highly recommend Laru Beya Resort, staff and village.

Suite was totally updated with walkout patio to the small beach. Beautiful views of the ocean. Great restaurant and front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. Mildred was the most efficient front desk manager that we’ve seen! Laundry service is reasonable and fast. Get Vincent for a tour guide if going to the Mayan ruins. Highly recommend! Whole staff is a team.

Great, quiet place for a relaxing stay.

The Laru Beya is a nice smaller resort with a nice pool and bar/restaurant. The room was basic but entirely adequate for our needs. It had a small patio, AC, ceiling fan, and a small TV. Internet in the room was sketchy but very good in the general service areas of the resort. Service was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They would line you up for any of the tours or water activities you want. We used the bikes to get around the area and golf carts were also available. You need the golf carts or a taxi to access Placencia village, but being out of the hub of activities was what we wanted. There were some nearby restaurants which were good, Habenaros being our favorite. It is right across the road from The Moorings/Sunsail so handy if you plan on sailing. Publics grocery store was nearby as well. Nice clean pool area with plenty of towels and loungers. The stiff winds we had our time there brought in s lot of sea weed which was the case all along the peninsula. Laru Beya did the best of the other places along the shore to keep ahead of the cleaning.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Placencia. ALL of the staff members are incredibly nice, they made our stay so comfortable. The restaurant at the hotel was great! Perfect distance from town, they do have complimentary bikes and rentable golf carts (we did both). The rooms were clean, each balcony had a hammock, and it was right on the beach! Would absolutely stay again!

The Ride to Paradise is Worth It!

The service was outstanding and very accommodating. Our TV went out for a while and they sent a man to fix it immediately. The room was fantastic right on the beach and steps away from the pool. The people there are very friendly and the food was fantastic. It was well worth the drive from the Beliz airport. I would do this again!

Laru Beya Resort

We have never booked a vacation like this before. This was for our 50th Anniversay and chose Belize not knowing anything about it. We spent 3 months checking on everything we could. I even called the hotel and spoke to Sharon to have a person to answer little things like do you need a jacket, how far are some of the outings we wanted to go on.

Our plane was late arriving, no problem they waited for us. We were greeted with a gift for our anniversary, then we were shown our room which was on second floor (no elevator) stairs only. I have bad knees and feet so Ed said, “let me check something for you,” and 10 minutes later we were in a first floor ocean front beautiful apartment. On our Anniversary the staff set up a table surrounded with lights in a heart shape and a waiter from the restaurant was assigned to us. It was a wonderful dinner (very good food) and the atmosphere was splendid. It was more than we could have asked for. We highly recommend Laru Beya for a great time.

Best Vacation Ever?

What started out as a very stressful honeymoon trip (we missed our flight due to a family emergency) quickly turned into perhaps the best vacation ever.

And a large part was the accommodating and welcoming staff at Laru Beya.

By far one of the nicer resorts we stayed at (and this includes a few famous resorts in South Beach Mia)

And staff was great, food was excellent, and service was awesome.

Perfect Stay!

Our one bedroom suite was ocean front with beautiful Carribean views from the balcony. We loved sitting out in the morning with coffee and a good book...or just gazing at that beautiful view. The bed was comfortable, and the room was spotless, with amenities. The restaurant, Quarter Deck Restaurant and Bar, served delicious meals, which we enjoyed nearly every night, for dinner. The pool was immaculate and the grounds and gardens were beautifully maintained. Sharon in the office was always a step ahead, and shout out to Alicia and Pablo, who made us feel like the restaurant was our little home kitchen. Can't wait to visit again!

I just returned from a 5 night getaway with my college-aged son. Laru Beya is a lovely, quiet, well-maintained property. The grounds and pool are always being cleaned. Food is good (only had breakfasts there), staff is very friendly and helpful and the setting is heavenly. A low-key, casual place. Would definitely return.

Really enjoyed Laru Beya. The staff were attentive and VERY helpful when travelocity fouled up our next reservation. Before that, the Laru Beya staff were very helpful with setting up tours and ground transportation. Water activities were great. Our two bedroom suite was just perfect for us. The wood furnishings were stunning. Belize has fantastic woods and these are on display throughout the resort. New appliances in the kitchen. We were RIGHT ON THE BEACH. We ate many meals in the resort restaurant and enjoyed all experiences there.

This is a very nice resort. I went with my two daughters for lobster fest 2016. It's a 10 minute drive to the village and the front desk called the taxi for us. It's 5 minutes from the airstrip and the hotel provided a free shuttle to and from. We had an ocean front room. The beach was so private. The restaurant serves delicious authentic food. I'm ready to go back!

We had a wonderful get away. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was great. I loved having a built in dresser for my clothes. We had a beautiful view even for a side room. The balcony was nice with chairs and a hammock. The shower had some mold along the floor edges by the door. Would definitely book again. Great maid service.

This is a great hotel. The staff Are excellent. The room is very nice and a good bathroom. Our only problem was noise from neighboring Americam/Canadian guests in other rooms/suites. The beach is small but well kept. The restaurant is good except the emphasis is on fish and I font eat fish so a few more other options would be good. I wound definitely recommend this hotel. The pool is wonderful and very well maintained for Central America. If ever we are back on Belize this would be where I would stay
