Our room was clean and well maintained. Nice fixtures and little extras around that made it very comfortable.

The property was kept clean and was very nice. I think they swept/raked the beach area a few times a day! Pool was great. Restaurant was great.

Staff went above and beyond expectations. They were very helpful every time i interacted with them. This is the place to stay when visiting Placencia area!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with travel around Placencia, including arranging shuttles to and from the airport, and their service throughout our stay was exceptional. We stayed in the Tree Top Suite, which was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The restaurant offered delicious meals—especially the fish—and the water views were spectacular. The beach was quiet and beautifully secluded, perfect for relaxing. My favorite part of the stay was the dock at night, where we laid out under expansive starry skies with nothing but the sound of the ocean around us. Truly a memorable and special experience.

The is such a lovely place to stay. It’s small, quiet, beautiful and charming. The staff are all so kind and helpful. There are more staff than are guests. The beach is gorgeous and clean and I often had the place almost to myself. They have an espresso bar, nice open air restaurant with rentals for golf carts, snorkeling or paddle boards. I was only there 2 days so I didn’t do any of the activities. It is a few miles to town so you’d need to rent a golf cart and have someone drive you. The room was nice and comfortable right at the beach. I’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, quiet setting. The drive into town is deceiving when you look at the miles. It takes 25 mins. The staff was lovely, the food was good, the grounds were amazing. We road the bikes, used the kayak and paddle boards. We especially loved the dock for viewing sea creatures.

From the moment I walked into Azul del mar I felt like I was visiting family! This is truly a remarkable place to visit! You won’t even want to leave the property! I would highly recommend staying here. I will definitely be back one day!
The rooms are spacious. The food is great! Lots of things to keep you entertained on a rainy day. It is a one of a kind experience. If you are hesitating to stay, don’t!

Our Jaguar room was not only spotless, but was comfortable and stocked with coffee, and filtered water, had a vintage microwave and fridge/freezer, and an awesome shower room all decorated with the jaguar theme.
The resort's small pool was clean and a comfortable temp. We loved the Adirondack chairs on the long dock which were perfect for relaxing and watching the sunset and stars.
We biked, swam in the sandy beach, snoozed in the hammock, and kayaked and paddle boarded along the shore seeing baby stingrays, jellyfish and many roosting and feeding birds.
Our adult son took a kayak a mile out to a mangrove forest and had a great massage from Chloe.
We highly recommend fryjacks at the resort's restaurant and also their special Korean Barbecue which was fun and tasty. (Be aware that it says one order serves two, but you are charged for two. I didn't realize that so the bill was higher than expected.)
We highly recommend this small, casual resort and hope to visit again.

Chloe and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. The property was amazing! It was secluded and our room was clean and had everything we needed! We ate at the restaurant and it was so delicious! They make their own pizza! We used their stand up paddle board and kayak to explore the ocean. You can really tell that they take pride in their service and facility. This is a must stay when you are staying in Maya Beach!

I really wanted to give Azure Delmar a higher rating because so many aspects of my stay were wonderful. The food was excellent, the ocean views were breathtaking, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the amenities were great.

Unfortunately, my experience was affected by two major issues — bedbugs in the room and a leaky roof when it rained. These problems made it impossible for me to fully enjoy the stay or give a higher rating.

While I wouldn’t return because of the bedbug issue, this experience has definitely made me more cautious and better prepared when traveling in the future.

Our stay at Azure del Mar was beyond AMAZING!
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We arrived in Belize City very late and then had a long drive into Placencia. Maria, one of the receptionist waited for us to arrive even though it was passed her working hours and asked the kitchen staff to prepare food for us to have for when we arrived. The entire staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our 6 night stay incredible.
The resort has beautiful views. Its literally on the beach. We ate dinner and had drinks every night we were there and had the most amazing views with our food and drinks.
Our suite was perfect for our family. It is in a safe location so much so that we felt comfortable letting our kids roam around the resort on their own even at night. Everything was always clean.
My boyfriend and I had a couples massage out on the dock and even though it waa windy the staff made it happen and it was the most amazing massage I've had listening to waves and feeling the wind on us during our massages.
I cannot say enough good this about this place. We were so sad to leave.

The overall appearance of the hotel is beautiful and the staff were very welcoming. We were greeted with a welcome sign, and received a complimentary drink upon being taken to our cabana. The manager Valerie was wonderful and recommended a waterfall for us to visit that elevated our experience in Belize. There is a restaurant, bar, cafe, as well as kayaks, bikes and guest parking. One con was the distance- it’s a while away from where all the activities, restaurants and shop hubs are; about a 25-30 minute drive. Another issue we encountered were big bugs finding their way into in our cabana so if you have a fear of bugs like us that’s something to keep in mind.

As advertised! A small, family friendly resort style property. Cute cabanas (with AC) right on the beach, a cool refreshing pool beside the beach to rinse off the salt water. Sand is a soft slightly golden white. Water is shallow and sandy right off the beach, you can easily and safely walk out to play in the waves. The restaurant has long open hours serving a mix of local and North American style food. In March it is hot, 33C. But there was a constant onshore cooling breeze. That, and the whole property is well shaded with huge palm trees and bougainvillea trees. The restaurant is also open air right out onto the beach, well shaded, so always breezy and cool. Maria on the front desk is wonderful and can arrange a cab ($20US to town) snorkelling, river adventure, ruins trip, golf carts to rent. They have a couple of bikes with baskets. It is a short 5 minute bike ride to the local convenience store for beer, wine, liquor, fresh fruit and veg, beverages, sunscreen, etc. Watch for off season specials like rates that include breakfast. Also highly recommend a massage right on property.

We flew into BZE and drove to Placencia/Maya Beach. We were greeted at Azure Del Mar with a welcome drink and our names on the sign! What a greeting after a long travel day and drive! Dinner was lovely, we got some great recommendations from the staff, and work up to the beautiful peaceful ocean, breakfast, paddleboarding, oat milk lattes (hot or iced!). Although we had many day trips planned, we certainly would come back and simply stay at the property. Everything you need for a beach get a way with good food and coffee plus paddle boards and kayaks to use. Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful little spot on the beach.

The cabanas were excellent. Rain Shower had good pressure. The bed was comfortable. The room had a fridge, microwave and electeic kettle. The mini split kept the room cool at night and during the day the breeze through the windows was plenty to cool it off. The coffee shop was wonderful. The restraunt service wasnt great but the food was pretty good. I think they were training new staff while we were there.The bar tender was exceptional, however! Overall, the staff were very friendly and the front desk kmows you by first name. The location is great. We loved being right on the beach. Its quiete on Maya Beach than Placencia proper and we liked that a lot.

Maria at the checkin was great, she arranged for us to be checked in the room asap, even though we were 3 hours early. Nice small resort with 9 rooms/Cabanas. Restaurant was really good, Joe and Danny will take good care of you. There are a few other restaurants options along the Maya beach strip within a few minute drive or 5 to 10 min walk. On calm days you can snorkel right at the end of the dock. Not coral reef, but lots of fish and starfish to see.

I enjoyed my room a lot, I could see the beach and the ocean from my bed and that I just had to walk 10 steps to where I got fed. This hotel is very good for relaxing and not going anywhere, The sand felt nice too and it was clean. Surprisingly, I didn’t get any bites, which I’m very thankful for. My massage at the beach was enjoyable and my masseuse, Chloe, was great!
Although I did enjoy my stay at ADM, I prefer to have a longer beach to walk on and I wish there were more restaurants nearby to walk to.

This is a lovely beachfront property. My husband and I stayed in the Stingray cabana and it was perfect. Comfortable bed, large bathroom and it was nice having the option of leaving windows open so we could hear the crashing waves or turning on the AC if the humidity was high. The staff was fantastic. Absolutely by far the most rekaxed and quietest vacation weve had. The entire staff, from Front Desk, the servers, bartenders, cooks and cleaning staff were beyond amazing. Food was on point and arguably one of the best places to eat.

This place is far away from everything but you have everything you need on premises. The staff are super friendly, competent and accommodating, a definite plus compared to some other places in Belize and Placencia specifically. I gave this hotel four instead of five stars because the food was not very good. The salad wasn’t cut properly, didn’t mix well with the dressing and was difficult to eat. The other dishes I ate were also a bit mediocre. Otherwise, very enjoyable and beautiful. The massage was nice too.

Excellent rooms and location. I stayed in a beachfront cabin right beside the ocean, the inside was beautiful with fan, air conditioning, very clean bathroom with shower. Outside I had a porch with chairs and a hammock facing the beach shaded by palm trees. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows, they make towel swans on your bed and decorate the towels with fresh flowers. The room had a fridge with drinking water and a coffee maker stocked with coffee, cream and sugar. The whole place is kept very clean, they sweep the outside and rake the beach every morning, the restaurant, bar, rooms, pool, et. every area I saw was spotless clean. The pool goes from 3 ft on the sides to 5 ft in the middle, and the water is great super clean. They also have a restaurant and bar that is very good. The drinks and food are a bit pricey for Belize, but the quality and convenience of having it right there maybe 20 feet from the door of your cabin makes it worth paying a bit more. There are only 8 cabins and 2 large family suites in the whole resort, it feels very cozy and exclusive. The ocean is shallow up until the end of the dock, great place to relax in the water and for little kids to swim. Aguitis walk by in the morning, sometimes they come to the beach, there are a lot of tropical birds and little lizards, but no mosquitoes by the beach. Very relaxing and stress free resort.

Nobody’s fault but just a little sand in the room can start to make its way into everything. Maybe a foot bath with water outside the unit? We would ABSOLUTELY stay here again.

Azure Del Mar was an incredible personal resort. The cabana we stayed in had beautiful view of the sunrise in the morning. We had access to the water right from the front porch of our Cabana. Plural right in front of your stay. The entire staff, every single member was friendly, helpful, an eager to make our stay memorable. We went for our 10-year anniversary and they provided a private dinner on the beach while the sun was setting. Our room was left with fragrances that were calming and soothing. The pool was the perfect temperature and the ambiance of the grounds was tranquil and relaxing. It was our first time to the area and it won't be our last.

I picked Azure Del Mar based on reviews, and once back home wanted to confirm that they were right...it is a special place! I am generally an independent traveler who prefers a bit of the off the beaten path. I needed somewhere that I could relax and restore and this was the perfect place for that. The staff are excellent and provide a very personal touch. I was a solo traveler and felt welcomed and safe. The cabanas are unique and comfortable. There is a lovely breeze and you can hear the waves from bed. I was there the first week of May and it was not crowded, in fact, I often had the beach all to myself and felt like I was on my own private island swinging in my hammock. The restaurant is good, but you can also walk to a bakery, small market, or other places to eat. I wondered about staying farther out from Placencia, but have no regrets about my decision. Azure del Mar is an amazing place and I highly recommend staying there.

The hotel setting was beautiful, quiet, and staff were very attentive and curteous. The location was further from Placencia Village than I realized but easy to reach by car. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would return.

Azure Del Mar was absolutely amazing! After sailing and camping for a few nights it was the perfect place to relax and treat ourselves. It was super relaxed and low key and the cabana was absolutely stunning! We really enjoyed the pool, beach and the incredible food and service. Maria was so lovely and welcoming and Jr. And Jo at the bar were fantastic bartenders! Next time we will have to stay longer! Thank you to all the fantastic staff for making our stay so special!

They have everything you need in property- bar, coffee shop, restaurant, beachfront with kayaks and hammocks. Very peaceful and only a short trip into the village so you can have the best of both worlds!

I would not recommend this place

I've visited Belize 5 times in total, this instance was my only bad experience. My bed had bugs crawling on me at night. I used chatgpt4 to identify a bug i have never seen before called \"Case-bearing moth larvae\". Although it's not infectious it is worrisome that they kept appearing on my bed. The cottage is filled with dust. There is even evidence of bugs being smashed on the walls. My bed sheets were not changed even when the cleaners came. The guy at the bar was rude and the manager was nonchalant. Location is perfect (that's about it). I can tell the hotel had its time and still has potential but it needs a whole new staff with the exception of my driver who picked me up at the airport. The food was also disappointing. They didn't have half of the stuff listed on their breakfast menu so i ate at the Naia and threw away most things i ordered. I booked this hotel last minute. I see why it had availability.

Our room was the best one on the property. Amazing view, beautiful room. We loved opening the doors and letting the breeze flow. The porch was so relaxing with a hammock within feet of our room. The pool was nice with a view of the ocean. The restaurant had delicious food, as well as great cocktails. Maria was really helpful and kind at the front desk. We had a fabulous stay!

I really liked this property and chose it because it was small. People should be aware though that the pool and beach are open to people not staying at the property so it ends up being busier than it would be with just registered guests.

Our one night stay here turned out to be great. Beach front, individual cabanas, pool, and a great restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free airport transport to Placencia was a plus as well!
