Had trouble registering as we were asked for booking reference even though we had a print out of our booking. I had to suggest looking at my driving licence to get registered. Hotels.com did not give us a booking reference. A bit stressful as we thought we had to go elsewhere for our stay.

Definitely not Luxury, as described, a very tired caravan, sticky tape stuck to the front door, tv channels not working properly, light in en suite not working, windows wouldn't close properly, as there was rain whilst we were there, our clothes got wet.
No instructions for the hot tub, so jets only working one side, very disappointed

Our caravan wasn't ready on check in time, we had to wait. The cleanliness of the caravan was ok, however the decking area clearly hadn't been cleaned or had a broom over it in a long time, meaning we couldn't really use this area as it was very dirty.

The property needs attention to detail, mould around ceiling of bathroom, loose light fitting in bathroom where plaster kept falling out, loose socket in bedroom, curtains with food stains on them. Extractor hood covered in dust. Large dip in floor to main bedroom.

Lovely quiet park until 20 mins before check out when they wanted to empty the hot tub. Parking space right for a bigger vehicle and the door lock to the lounge doors extremely stiff.

Great location but just needs that attention to detail if had paid full high season price would have definitely been asking for a reduction or change.

Small arcade, lake, clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, and playground on site. Check on their website for details about when certain facilities open - we’ve been a number of times and there’s a much wider variety in the Summer. But still enjoyable throughout the year.

Excellent location.
Lovely walks for dog on park.
Luxury caravan for 6 but 3rd room very very small with hardly any room between the two single beds.
Dining room table only had 4 chairs even though for six.
Lots of storage space in kitchen.
When stripped the bed, mattress not particularly clean.
Hot tub private but had to buy a light for safety as no external light outside by it and couldn’t see a thing out there!
Despite this we had a fabulous break and the staff were really friendly.

Only issues we had with cottage was no instructions for the oven.no door mat it was an extremely wet weekend and had to use a white towel to mop up water.no instructions that we had to turn boiler on, we tried to have a shower no hot water didnt realise the boiler was not turned on.cleanness was fair but lots of cobwebs

Fabulous holiday

We had a fabulous stay. Only thing I didn’t understand was why pay more for a pet friendly caravan and then have to pay again for a dog? Surely it should be included in the price of a pet friendly caravan as they are generally more expensive than a non Pet friendly caravan? Other than that, I couldn’t fault the place, everyone was friendly, the service was next level. Would defo stay again.

Accommodation: Static Caravan fine.
Location: Very Central
Pool indoor and outdoor, small but adequate.

Downside: Drinks prices at the bar are very expensive! No shop on site, although co-op is only a 2 minute walk from yhe entrance.

We asked for a easy access caravan, didn't get one, tried to get it changed but they said that there was none available, couldn't check in before 4pm, they wouldn't even tell me which caravan I was getting which seemed awkward, we paid for a luxury caravan, it wasn't, the carpets and settee,
6 dinning chairs were dirty and stained, the sink work top was stained and had mould around the edges, outside the decking was filthy, we had to walk down some steps despite asking for a easy access, my wife struggles walking, they didn't seemed bothered,

Clean and lovely place

Really clean and spacious caravan, very pretty setting. The only mark down on cleanliness was for the pool and changing areas, it was a nice pool but there wasn't really anywhere to change and leave stuff, and the general changing area/ toilets could've done with more regular cleaning. The caravan and everywhere else was very clean though, we had a lovely stay and would return.

Wine cooler
Gas hob (seperate)

An amazing stay as usual. Me and my partner have been coming for 4 years now 3 times a year. We love it there the peace and quiet. The cottages are lovely and have everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful the food at the restaurant is lovely too. Great place for a family too.

The caravan was well presented and clean. The resort was an ideal place to base our holiday and was within easy reach of all the places of interest we wanted to visit. Facilities at the resort were good but if you want to use the swimming pool book your slot when you arrive as there is limited availability.
The co-op store just across the road from the resort is extremely useful for those essentials you have either forgotten or need.
I advise taking some oven gloves if you intend to cook as these are not supplied.

Me & My partner stayed here on 8/7/24 - 14/7/24 6 nights. Check in was excellent and friendly staff. We had a brilliant stay the accommodation which was a caravan with a hot tub was so lovely, clean had everything we needed. The patio was well kept the view was lovely & the hot tub was at the right temperature when we arrived the caravan was roomy was really lovely. The Monday night we went to the Lakeside bar & eatery we both had a 3 course meal it was absolutely delicious definitely recommend the cocktails were amazing friendly helpful staff didn't have to wait long between each courses good value for money. We did kayaking a few of the days which was epic such a laugh the young lifeguards were friendly and helpful especially when my sister brought my Autistic Nephew they helped him and had a friendly talk and laughter at the end whilst getting our shoes on my nephew absolutely loved it especially talking to the lifeguards he absolutely loved kayaking unfortunately i didn't get the names of the lifeguards but they were the same ones each time when we went kayaking. I got a phone call the 2nd day to ask if everything was fine and if we needed anything which was really good of them to ask everything was fine and didn't need anything. We have been coming for the past two years. This is the 2nd time this year hopefully be coming again October. Thank you for such a lovely week away. I always recommend you guys to family/friends

Beautiful grounds, the lake enlightens the site, especially when lit of an evening.
Loved my Caravan, Clean, modern & had a very comfortable bed.
Plenty of room.
All the facilities you need on this site too.
The staff were so friendly & helpful.
This place is Central to all routes to visit the surrounding area’s.
I will definitely stay at lakes Rookley again.

The caravan itself was beautiful. There were a lack of cookware though which was frustrating - predominantly no oven gloves, oven trays or saucepans/ frying pans. Luckily we brought a tray and frying pan with us just incase.
The bed was VERY soft which caused me a lot of problems but will probably be suitable for many. There were no coffee tables in our caravan either which was frustrating but we could see that other caravans did have them. The site itself wonderful. You couldn’t ask for a better location to access the whole island’s attractions. The food in the restaurant, while a little pricy, was brilliant. Being able to bring our dogs was great and they loved walking round the lake and surround areas. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the caravan itself preferring to explore. The local pubs are phenomenal and all within a few mins drive. We will definitely come back again but will probably pay a bit more for a better caravan or chalet next time

Easy check in and good communication from them prior to arrival. Cottage was comfortable, warm and peaceful. The hairdryer is listed as being included in the room, but it’s not *in* the room. You will need to give a deposit at reception and they’ll hand one over. Cash only deposit, and they don’t have ATMs on site - seems like a silly unnecessary inconvenience. They also text AND emailed about marketing to buy a caravan during our 3 day stay which seems a bit overkill. Shower pretty powerful and TV selection decent. Didn’t use any of the main facilities on site. Well located for everything on the island, I don’t think we drove more than 20 minutes to get anywhere which was handy.

I have stayed here at various times over the last 5 years and have really enjoyed it. The club house was always superb and the cottages were well equipped clean and comfortable. This time because of an error in booking we had a static at the end of the park. The first night we ordered a takeaway only to find we had 2 forks. We called reception and some were delivered. The following morning we went to do a cooked breakfast. We had 1 baking tray. No grill pan and only 4 plates. There was no starter pack containing a cloth, washing up liquid etc so I had to walk to the co-op. All of these things were in order in my previous visits.
The beds are so uncomfortable I could t sleep. The sofas are basically a cushion on a wooden board and are also really uncomfortable, the TV was really bad also.
I loved my time in the Isle of Wight, but hated every moment in this site. No entertainment for the kids which they loved on previous occasions.. reception closes at 4:30pm… The only thing that amused me was how the flooding of the site was dealt with. A person stood on a pallet truck trying to move a railway sleeper with a rake to unblock the road…

Ideas for improvement:

The addition of a frying pan and baking tray would be helpful.
An additional bin bag to help with recycling sorting.

No amenities as mentioned… no soap!

Arrived to a lady who eye rolled me on check in at the bar, even though they were aware of me arriving after 8pm. Was told if I couldn’t find accommodation to call reception (but they close at 5pm..). Found our caravan, to find the door wide open and an inside light on… not what I expected to be quite honest. No instructions for heating/ hot water or even the oven etc…

No towels (just a bath mat) no hairdryer, 2 glasses in the kitchen (wine glasses were there but children are a nightmare with those), and no pizza cutter or oven glove. Not even one basic soap/ hand wash for a sink….

Hotels.com stated towels and a hairdryer would be in our caravan. So maybe that needs removing for others to see in future.

It was clean in general, tv is ever so basic, I had to tether WiFi which isn’t the end of the world.

Would I stay here again? Probably not. White cliff bay was much better overall.

Just a bit disappointed. Not ideal when you haven’t got what was told the caravan had.

But the silver lining, was the fake fire (no heat) - did look nice of an evening.

This is quite the beautiful place. The two large lakes add a superb element to a stay. Comfy, clean caravan & lovely staff. It is very good. No Wi-Fi in the caravan, but not a big deal.
Fed the multitude of ducks and moorhens with real duck food, so they have asked us to visit again.
Central base for exploring. We really liked it here. A bit odd supplying no towels, but again, we were told up front so no problem.

Overall, a great place to stay, lovely lodges with excellent facilities. We stayed in an exclusive lakeside lodge (no.20) but were disappointed in the ensuite areas. One bathroom had fungus on the floor, a badly stained toilet & disgusting toilet brush which is easily replaceable. The 2nd bathroom smelled fousty, fan not working. This was such a shame as the rest of the lodge was really comfortable & these problems are easily rectified. Lastly, parking wasn't next to the lodge in our case.

We were very pleased with the accommodation. Some of the facilities were not available but this was expected as it was out of season. We did have an issue with the electrics on the second evening but the on call staff were quick to respond and when they could not fix the problem they dealt with the situation quickly by moving us to another chalet which was a higher spec. Great central location, lovely settings and an enjoyable experience. We would and have recommended to friends and would certainly stay there again in the future.

Lovely log burner, however, no logs or firelighters provided which isn’t a problem but would be good if you could buy these on site. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was a great base to explore the island. Would definitely return.

High standards set for our first Self Served Accommodation. The luxury caravans were incredibly clean, comfortable, and extremely affordable.

We had boiler issues on the first morning, but the Guest Services staff were incredibly proactive and were radioing the maintenance team as we spoke to them. We had someone out to remedy the situation by the time we arrived back at our caravan.

Would absolutely choose this location again, and would consider Away Resorts in other locations around the UK.

Very comfortable and beautiful rooms. Looked even better than the photos. Great having a private jacuzzi to use.

Generally clean, though there was mold in the clothes washing detergent tray we had to clean out before using. Biggest glaring issues were 1) No in-room Wi-Fi; Wi-Fi only available in main area, which closes in the evening 2) Though there is a full kitchen, no basic condiments or supplies were provided. No paper or cloth towels, salt, pepper, dishwashing detergent, clothes washing detergent, nothing to clean with. There was a very nice welcome bag that included Prosecco, milk, tea, coffee and sugar, which was appreciated, but it would have been nicer to have other basic needs available. 3) No hairdryer in rooms; main desk charged a 5 pound deposit to borrow, which they waived when we weren't able to provide exact change.

Hopefully we’ll be back!

Reception staff were helpful. Pool staff went out of their way to help with the shower. Lodge was comfortable and mainly clean. Grill pan needed washing and carpet soiled in places. I couldn’t get the grill to remain lit. Maybe I wasn’t using it correctly???
Overall, lodge was comfortable, adequately equipped and well heated. Thank you for a lovely time.

Breaking down the rating a bit... caravan 4.5/5 (spacious with plenty of storage, shame there is no handwash nor hair dryer); location 4.5/5 (you definitely need a car as there isn't much in Rookley but then everything on the island is a short drive away); cleanliness 4/5 (not spotless but no major issues either); amenities 4/5 (we have only used the swimming pool and the arcade room, not the restaurant, all fine apart from a grim changing room); noise 4/5 (being off season it was generally quiet but we could hear very clearly the conversation the people next door were having when they sat on their patio).

I was disappointed that we never had a jacuzzi as was advertised on booking, also no ferry discount as usually you get at b&b /hotels on the island. They advertise on their site but I received nothing via email. I paid single ferry to enquire of discount when I was there,but still wasn’t offered for my return.
On arrival to the superior lodge that ended up being a caravan, there was no toilet rolls, in the bathroom,en-suite. Which was annoying .( We noticed on leaving the cleaners had them to put in when we left but we didn’t get any , is that normal?).
The fireplace had an object stuck in it! Maintenance was called to sort out.
The remote control stopped working for tv , I went and spoke to lady in restaurant and their rapid response was ace, and problem solved.
The caravan was modern and comfortable we enjoyed our stay.

We had a great stay in a cottage with jacuzzi. All staff were very friendly and helpful. I wasn’t aware before that you have to book slots for the swimming but we always managed to get a slot. The outside pool is lovely and warm. Will definitely be back
