Beautiful comfortable room
For the price, this is the best place we've stayed on the Isle of Wight. We had room 3, which had a huge and very comfortable bed. The en-suite was large and had a bath. There were lots of toiletries and the tea/coffee station was well stocked. We also had the continental breakfast, which we enjoyed. Would highly recommend.

We have just spent Monday Night and Tuesday Night (12th and 13th June 2023) at Hewitt's. My sister and I were over on the island to sort out our older sister's funeral. Hewitt's was absolutely ideal for us to use as a base. The breakfast was mainly continental. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. There is no parking which wasn't a problem for us as our niece who lives on the island was picking us up everyday. Katie who looked after us was lovely and very helpful. I'm sure that we will stay again. Hewitt's was very quiet which is what we needed but I think it's because the restaurant wasn't open during our stay. All in all we had a lovely and restful stop here.

Lovely property dating from 1690 in Newport. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Rooms are above a high quality restaurant.
Parking is available in a large car park which is nearly opposite the restaurant & rooms.
The proprietor was very helpful with information and also understanding when we had to truncate our stay as father-in-law was taken ill.
The staircase is a little challenging for individuals with mobility issues.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Hewitt. Newport is a great central base to explore the island. Dean who runs the establishment was very helpful as were the rest of his staff. Would have no trouble in recommending this place

This was a great place to stay!
We stayed for 5 nights while we were down in Ilse of Wight and the room was in great condition and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We also ate in the restaurant on the last night and we were not disappointed - the menu options were incredible and the food was delicious. I was incredibly impressed that nearly everything on the menu had a gluten free option as my partner is gluten intolerant. Would happily stay here again and would recommend anyone to stay here!

We like the friendly approach of the owner and he was kind enough to allow early check in . Room was quite comfortable and well equipped with TV and HDMI cable. Bathroom is spacious and provisioned with hair dryer and shower gel, shampoo etc. It was a good experience throughout. I would like to go again if I were to in the future. Thank you Dean ,☺️

Having been to the Isle of Wight many times in the past, I have to say staying in the Hewitt's rooms was the most pleasurable!
Before I booked a room at Hewitt's I had a few questions about the hotel, location, parking, baby cot, etc. So i rang up and spoke to Dean (the owner), a very polite and customer centric gentleman who was more than happy answering any of my queries and was very helpful in giving adbice on the various options on parking in the area.
Throughout our stay Dean was always on hand to answer with any queries and would greet us every morning of our 2-day stay at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious to say the least, and a great variety for all tastes!
Whenever I come back to the Isle of Wight, I will be making Hewitt's my choice of accomodation! Keep up the good work guys!

We had a lovely stay at Hewitts Restaurants and Rooms, our room was bright, clean and spacious. The beds were also super comfortable! We had a nice view of the garden.

Very nice rooms. A bit expensive. Poor parking facilities. There is a parking nearby but is expensive and we had to go at 8 am to pay the fee.

Excellent value, unique apartment style feel
We were both pleased with the room and the diligence in the way the owners handled access etc. The room was unique and had wooden pannelling but a nice large comfy bed and huge bathroom and dimmer lights. It wasn't 4* but superb value for what we paid, would be 3x more at least in city locations for a room like this. Only small thing was no bedside lamp but I had the light on my phone and this was very minor.

We were woken in the middle of the night by a sound that seemed to come from the drain pipes like some hitting them with a spanner. It was like a Chinese water torture! We also nearly fell over the carpet that was causing a trip hazard outside our room door!

A note was left on the door to phone or go to another destination to get information about entering the property. Would have been nice to have received an email about this beforehand. The mattress was not comfortable it was thin and could feel the springs. The shower and hair wash dispenser was loose on the bath and not fitted to the wall. 2 bulbs not working in bedroom and could have done with a spare plug socket. We also had to go to a tea house 5 minutes away for breakfast.

The location was very convenient, accessible for everything.The room was great, big and very spacious especially the bathroom with the bath tub which was perfect. The location where the breakfast is serve is different location and it was a bit confusing at first but we found it in the end by the help of the emergency number.
