Slow time of year, and the staff couldn't muster enough energy to scoop dead bugs, spiders, and leaves out of the pool. I believe we were the only occupants at the entire facility. People playing video games in the parking lot at night, being too loud. Hole in the ceiling of the bathroom where a fan used to be; could see clear to the roof. Inadequate blanket on bed; not suitable for sleeping under. Lock on the door gave way if you pushed on the door hard enough. I've stayed here twice before but the charm has worn off. The shower was great by Costa Rican standards. Staff is nice but not motivated to serve guests.

The room is very big and the bed is comfortable

The room has some crabs but I think it's normal as you literally in the middle of the forest.

Nice but I overlooked the fact they do not have a coffee pot or microwave. The error was mine but i think otheres would like to know. Staff was extremely helpful. They even found a locksmith who could come quickly.

This was our least favorite hotel of the trip, but we got the room for a good price and it was only for one night. We wish the staff had told us about the second pool, we stumbled across it by wandering. It’s very walkable to the beach. We wish there was more wall plugs and definitely more pillows. The room was outdated but the water pressure was fantastic in the shower. No breakfast here.

very close to Espadilla Beach and Manuel Antonio, and we saw iguanas and monkeys just outside the hotel, which made it fun and exciting for us. def not a fancy spot, but we enjoyed relaxing in the pool and the staff was very nice and helpful. great location and affordable cost for the area.

It was fine for a quick in/out stay, it was very old but clean, it actually felt like an abandoned hotel.. staff was nice when checked in.they gave us one towel for 2 people, weird…location was great for the beach.

Basic hotel, wouldn’t stay there more than one night. Beds sound a lot, smells like mold/humid. Nightshift staff was super friendly and let us in fast. I guess there is a reason why it was the cheapest available hotel for the night.

Basic hotel with good location

The hotel is very basic and the rooms could use an upgrade. However the location is really good. Very close to the beach (5 min walk) and very close to the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park (10 min). The rooms are cleaned daily and the staff is nice and friendly.

If you choose a room on the top floor there's a really nice view that make you forget that the place is a bit old but you can see that they are working on it! Location is really great, there are restaurants and convenient stores at walking distance but if you want more choices you will have to take the bus / taxi or a car for a 5-10 min drive which was done fine.

The proximity to the beach and Manual Antonio National Park were great.
I did not realize that the restaurant was only open for breakfast, 7 to 9 am. The microwave was only available those hours as well. Complimentary coffee would have been appreciated.
Lots of stairs and inclines, not for anyone with mobility challenges.

Excellent location- you can walk to the beach in 5 minutes. Also very inexpensive. Only complaint is that the bathroom has an open window/vent that lets in a very funky smell from the back of the hotel. Seems like the vent was not far from trash bins or something.

Affordable rustic hotel

Hotel location is fabulous, across the street from the beach and just a short walk to stores restaurants and the entrance to the national park. The hotel itself is a little worn down and could use a deep cleaning and some upgrades, but for the price it was a good value. The pools (there are 2) and grounds are quite pretty but it is located in a tropical paradise.

Great for location, but not the best hotel.

Pros: across the street from the beach, free parking and close to Manuel Antonio national park.
Cons: outdated, not very clean, we had slugs on the walls and floor, shower head wasn't working properly, overall atmosphere of the room didn't feel welcoming, very noisy as its right off the main street.

This hotel could use some upgrades. Door locks need to be improved, hard to open and close door. Would have been nice to have a large pot of coffee on in the morning in the lobby. Restaurant only open for breakfast 8 to 9. A couple clothes hangers but no where to hang clothes. The safe was a huge closet but hard to get in and out of, the lock again didn't work well. The pool was refreshing after a hot day, I feel it could be cleaned up a bit more than it was a bit murky.

Beautiful free beach 100 yards down the road.
Air conditioning works well and you'll need it!
Abundant wild life right at the hotel...sloths monkeys, iguanas.
Close to good restaurant.
Watch the sunset over the Pacific.

Nice and close to the National park and Beach

This hotel is across the street from the beach and only about a 10 minute walk from the National park. It looked a little run down in some parts and the rooms were fairly basic. Though they did come with air conditioning which was very nice on a hot day! It also has a tiny swimming pool that is open late. We went in this pool about twice a day as it was a nice way to cool off. This hotel was cheaper than some for the location so if you want to be in the area and don't want to pay as much it's good. Overall we had a pleasant experience at this hotel and were very glad for the air conditioning.

Ok Hotel very close to the beach

It was definitely nice to meet the staff since they are caring and very attentive. Nevertheless the pricing is definitely not worth it for the rooms quality, the pool is super small, the bathroom is old, same as beds and mattress.
The EXCESS of noise every single morning can definitely get under your skin and prevent you from resting as desired.
The visitors are mostly loud families with kids. Room service is slow and sloppy. The parking lot space is limited and on a steep hill which makes it difficult to find the right spot.
The AC works fine, sheets are clean, distance from MA is spot-on. Staff is cool, The rest is pretty off, as mentioned above.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. There wasn't a phone in the room but we had plenty of hot water, working television and the bed was extremely comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants and stores, best thing about it, it's a 2 minute walk to beach and the public bus stops at your front door. If you're on the cheap but want a great location and comfortable sleep, this is definitely the best.

Decent hotel, close to «action»

The hotel is only 700 m away from the Tracopa bus station. A closest ATM is 1 km away. The bus station for the local bus it's right in front of it so it's easy to move around. The beach and various restaurants are very close as well.
The hotel is decent, it has a nice pool and the staff is nice.
Good for short stays.

Very expensive for the quality offered, the rooms are not clean, they smell of something, the seweres flooded our bathroom, the toilets wouldn't flush most of the time, insects all over the place, very noisy at night with the traffic.
Only good thing is that it's a walking distance from the beach, and the front desk were friendly and helpful.

Great location especially at this price. 100m from the free beach and 1km from Manuel Antonio park, which saves you from having to deal with parking! We saw monkeys in the trees while swimming in one of their 2 refreshing pools. Breakfast with a great view of the Pacific up on the hill. We paid the extra $10 for an ocean view room which was great as we spent morning and evenings on the balcony right outside our room enjoying the environment. Would definitely recommend for the budget-conscious traveler, can't imagine finding much better than this.

Location was awesome, nice and close to the public beach and to Manuel Antonio Park. Good access to buses and restaurants as well. The room was very clean, however I booked an ocean view room and did not have a view but still paid the same price. They are renovating as well but the workers were there at very reasonable hours so it didn't bother our trip. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

The first room I was given was not good , no hot water and the shower sink was obviously plugged up as it did not drain at all and then there was an infestation of ants !!! I was relocated and the new room was great! And the staff was very helpful and also great! Awesome location, just steps away from the amazing beach and across the street was a great restaurant called Waves. Took a tour of Manuel Antonio park from the hotel and it was very organized and wonderful tour guide, Marvin. So other than the initial room stuff, it was great!

Dirty and dangerous

Dirty: Hair in the bathroom left by previous guests, dirt everywhere, floors, switches, windows
Dangerous: broken cable/switches, bedside lamp wires wrapped in tape got an electric short-circuit, with sparkles and flame exploding from the cable. 3cm gap under every entrance door, affraid of snakes in your bedroom?
Horrible breakfast (no buffet, you can only have rice, beans and 1 egg and pay extra $2 for orange juice even if you have breakfast included)
Stream of sewage from their diy laundry shelter goes straight in to the forest.
Uneven rocky footpaths, no stairs outside (very step area)
2 building, both get a lot of road noise, but the main one offers all bedroom windows right above the main road (windows with a lot of gaps around them)
Building falling apart.
They made sure to charge me in advance for my 2 weeks stay. Otherwise we would have moved to a different hotel the next day.
Manuel Antonio is great, but we were unlucky with our choice of hotel. We got tricked into a nice description of the hotel on the booking websites.
And you really need a car here. It's too far even to walk to the beach- 15 mins step hike.
Staff tries to be understanding but unable to address anything, and admitting the hotel is terrible.

We were pleased that we could change rooms to be on the first floor since my husband has trouble with steps. Hotel is close to several restaurants and we could walk to the beach and Manuel Antonio Park. The bus was only $.60 to get into Quepos.

Be sure to stay in the upper building. It is a bit of a climb, but the view is amazing! It is not a fancy place, but the pool is nice and we saw monkeys in the trees above the pool. The AC and fridge work well, and there is hot water showers. Walking distance to Manuel Antonio park. Restaurant right across the street. There is an outdoor area for cooking on the upper patio.

Stayed three days at Coco Beach Hotel. Selected it mainly because of proximity to the beach (5 to 10) minute walk and the hotel's.com information that said you had a view of the water, and the price.

From the maps I thought it was on the beach side of the road, but it is built into the hillsides across the road - no big deal.
Room advertised as \"superior\". King bed (comfortable) and view of the bay from the balcony were the only things I really thought \"superior\". A little on the small side but perfectly adequate. Little patios with tables and seating along the deck, not quite one per room. We were in room 10, and the balcony was in direct sun all day, so not really useful until the sun goes down. You could see part of the bay and a couple islands,but if view is important to you, try the second, higher building, but more stairs to climb.
Good hot water in the shower. Wifi ok. No safe in the room but a key lockable closet. When we arrived couldn't open this closet. Had to wait an hour before going to dinner while they changed the lock (didn't want to leave our things unsecured with workmen in the room), but in compensation they gave us free breakfast.
Staff very friendly and responsive.
Breakfast adequate, but the last day we went across the road for a better breakfast.
Small pool, nice for a dip but a little cold
In summary, an Ok room at a very good price compared to other comparable hotels in the area.

Consider the price

Coco Beach was nice enough for the money. I did not go to Manuel Antonio to stay in the finest hotel available.
TV, AC, hot shower, very comfortable bed. Breakfast choice was limited; eggs with rice and beans or eggs with
fruit. Coco Beach hotel is near the end of the bus route before looping back to Quepos. We walked the town of
Quepos which is a very quaint little town on \"flat\" ground whereas Manuel Antonio is looping curves up and down
with upscale hotels and restaurants. It is obviously a place of the idle rich for the active rich tourist. Quepos is
4 miles away but buses run often. I would consider staying there again. For the price you could not ask for more.

Perfectly fine if you want to keep cost down.

Hotel was not he best, but compared with price, I guess it was fair.
Quite simple and warn down rooms and facilities. AC was working fine, and the bed was quite good.
Not really any view from the hotel, but location is good and just a few minuts to walk to the beach.
