Plus points: Great staff, good facilities and nice room with a comfortable bed and fabulous sea views. Super shower with plenty of hot water. Quiet at night. Breakfast was great and much better than expected, with lots of hot and cold options.
Less good points: the lift was broken down for the entirety of our stay (10 nights). Fortunately, our room was on a medium level and we are pretty fit, so it wasn’t too bad for us, but for people higher up and especially old folk it could be a nightmare. The resort is built on a mountain side, as is much of Puerto Rico and is not really suitable for people with impaired mobility.

Some people with health issues had to move and pay again for alternative accommodation! Was disappointed by response from management

Location is amazing for sea views and vehicle access to the island . Within easy walking distance of 2 really good beaches which are served by numerous cafes and various water sports

We were on half board basis and we made a huge mistake because food was terrible. We had only 1 breakfast and 1 dinner and all other days we had to eat somewhere else.
The lift wasn't working on our first day.It seems the lift is always the problem there. Apartments has a lot of stairs which is a big problem especially when your apartments are at the top of hill.The young lady at the reception wasn't nice with us at all.She actually was very rude with us and she didn't want to listen about any our complaints.We were asked to pay extras for 24 and 25/12 evening meals but as the food was terrible we refused to pay all extras.
Apartments overall are nice and has everything what you need.
Sofa bed was terrible, my son wasn't sleeping at the night time at all.The bed for our son wasn't prepared even.
Also was very noisy but we don't mind it.
The place wasn't for us at all.We had been before in so many lovely places in Gran Canaria but this apartments were the worst place we had ever been.

It was lovely and I’ve stayed there year after year when I return to Puerto Rico because of how satisfied I’ve been- however this year to my disappointment, I feel it has gone downhill- cleaning every 5 days only and on on occasion I had a migraine so stayed in apartment for the day and cleaners could not come in- we missed our slot and cleaners did not return for the remainder of our stay- when we requested next day for our apartment to be cleaned we were told at reception that is the risk you take!!! Not acceptable for the price we paid- we could have stayed in any 5 star hotel on the island for same price- we chose here because it was always reliable, clean and friendly staff. We always arrive in late so would receive a welcome pack of bread water and milk- with tea and coffee sachets- that is no longer the case. The staff in the restaurant and bar were so friendly and brilliant to deal with as too were James and Dave in entertainment- an asset to the team!! However, the staff at reception, one in particular was extremely rude and almost went out of his way to disoblige- a sargeant major attitude. I could go on…. On short,
Bahia Blanca has lost its appeal and reasons I have always returned.
For that reason I won’t be back

Great 3 star option

A great 3 star option- with beautiful views a lovely warm pool and clean comfortable living space. A bit misleading as there was no working spa or tennis court and no kids playground (just a wooden house by the pool holding some pool toys) . The lift was broken for 5/7 days and no matter which room you book there are a lot of stairs. Which is probably common for most hotels as they are built on steep inclines. The balcony of our room was beautiful but we couldn’t use it as the bars were very wide and our kids safety would be in jeopardy (6 months and 2 years). Reception was kind and helpful- helped arrange hire cars, info on buses, booked taxis with baby seats for us. Own kitchen was amazing. For good coffee head to Morgan mal. Close walk to 2 beaches- supermarket on site (limited for a full shop).

Family of four from Ireland, we had a great stay. The facilities were fab for a an apartment complex Great views and loads of space outside in our apartment. Full restaurant bar and a lot extra. As a coeliac I was catered for no problem. The kids were very happy. The food was better in the Bahia Blanca than most restaurants around. We will definitely be returning. The head chef from Cork was very accommodating.

This is our 2nd visit this year after we got a recommendation from a friend. It is not 5 star Luxury but it does deliver at its price point. It is a quality family holiday retreat. Within easy walking distance to Puerto Rico and Amadores ( which is a must beach if you have small kids, crystal clear, shallow and calm ideal conditions) The staff cannot be faulted giving special mention to James and especially Dave the 2 guys have a thankless task of entertaining the kids, again it’s not an action packed entertainment resort but it breaks the day up golf, killer pool, darts Spanish lessons, it has a real family feel and speaking with other guest most if not all are returning guests which speaks for itself. The heated pool is a plus point especially when we went earlier this year. The self catering rooms are clean and have been refurbished as with most hotel could do with a bit of tlc in places.

Perfect location with a great sea view and a sun set as a everyday show! Apartments are clean and well kept. The upper floor was very good for us as it was calm and no noise from the evening entertainments. We had some commection problems with WiFi but not sure if this was a hotel or our phones problem .

There wasn't anything we didn't like about Bahia Blanca, though people with walking difficulties wold struggle due to the steep sloping road to reach the apartments, and the many stairs once on the complex.
The apartment and general areas were all very clean and well-maintained with a modern yet traditional feel. Every apartment has amazing views of the sea and its a really easy walk along the lovely coastal path to either Puerto Rico or Amadores.
Bar and food prices are reasonable.

Excellent apartment with great facilities of air con, washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, iron and large shower. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs to your apartment. It’s about 600m to each beach but is hilly so taxi ride back is around €4. There is a shop which is ok for bare essentials but the nearest hyperdino is a taxi ride away.
The happy hour between 5 and 6 is worth a well earned gin and tonic before walking down the hill for your evening meal.
Wi-fi worked well with 2 devices being able to be logged on.
The restaurant food was limited but good quality although the service was not great.
As many have mentioned the major problem was the pool, there were too many beds around the pool and these were taken by 8.30am with people who then didn’t use them.
Reception staff were helpful and pleasant.
The local buses are cheap and easy to use and there is a bus stop just above the harbour or at amadores beach.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday at Bahia Blanca. the only disappointment was the noise from the work being done for a new reception.Expedia never informed us of this work and it should haven been given to us when we booked.The staff were excellent, food at the restaurant was 5 star. Would we go back to these apartments? certainly.

A lot of construction is going on as they are building a new reception hall which gets quite dusty. Some staff and services not as good as it used to.be. Rooms are well designed with beautiful sea view. But sadly will not return.

The person at the reception was not friendly.
1. He did not explain where things are kept in the room, for example the blankets for the kids were kept inside the sofa , which you wont guess unless it is explained.
2. He did not explain how to call the reception or where the phone numbers list is kept. We had to walk down all the way back to the reception, which is a box not a proper room .
3. Climbing down and up the hill with the luggage is not easy. The lift goes only to the 2nd floor.
4. Not even water is kept in the room, we had to carry heavy water containers for our stay all the way up ourselves.
5. The people in the restaurant are not friendly either.
6. The space is not big enough for a family with 2 kids

Very disappointing

3 night stay with no hot water , Smell coming from drains made are room smell so bad . A very noisy lift either kept us awake or woke us up !! We were put on top floor so journey down to reception was a nightmare , phone in room to call reception didn’t work . Paid nearly £400 very expensive for standard of accommodation. Would not recommend!!!

Perfect location half way between 2 beaches. A couple of mornings there was a smell in our room that was like drains. Other than that the accommodation was perfect. There were plenty of restaurants close by. There was subtle entertainment at the property.

Had we not had a car we would have felt completely cut off .I don't think the hotel would be suitable for young families or the elderly as there are an awful lot of steps and although there is a lift ,it does not take you very close to the rooms.
Despite these issues we did enjoy our holiday.

Fantastic stay at Bahia Blanca

just returned a few days ago and thought this hotel was great.as previous reviewers have said the hotel rooms are fantastic with everything you need ,including a very spacious patio area with sun beds , table and chairs and an umbrella for shade.the rooms were cleaned almost every day(think only one day out of 10 they were not).all the staff are great particularly pepe !!! the pool area is lovely but there were a few days when we couldn't get a sunbed ,so I would imagine in the height of the summer this would be a problem.the food in the hotel was great.we ate out in local resteraunts too but I can honestly say that the food in the hotel was much better than any of the local resteraunts.
as other reviewers have said the only negative I could find with this hotel (apart from the lack of sunbeds) was the stairs..the lift was working perfectly, but there are steps even after u come off the lift .
we loved our stay and would 100% return.

The whole place is well cared for by the staff, which are always polite and helpful, Its is situated between the beach and Porta Rico within walking distance. The only problem for some are the stairs. But a great place to stay.

Comfortable clean apartment with good facilities and private sun terrace with sea view. Great value for the money. The in-house restaurant food is better than the local beach front restaurant fayre.

Not suitable if walking is difficult though - the funicular gets you near your apartment but there are still steps to tackle to get to your door.

Quiet location close to facilities

There are a lot of steps to the apartments which are spaced out over four levels, although these can be accessed using a lift. All apartments have sea views. The apartments are reasonably appointed with all main facilities, ours was one bedroom unit with a king size bed. The bathroom didn't have a bath, but had a large walk-in shower.
The resort restaurant is open for breakfast and in the evening. It offers a variety of food which we found to be of a reasonably good standard, they even offer a take-away service if you want to eat in the privacy of your own balcony. During the day snacks can be bought from the pool bar.
There is a well-stocked supermarket on site.

Loved the hotel and view from the room. Requested to be away from noisy areas and they gave us a room under the kitchen. The room is wonderful with a large yard. But every night I could hear the people cleaning dishes until 12:30 am and again at 6:30 am. Other than that, it's a wonderful place for vacation. Walking distance to both towns on either side and the beaches.

Good modern family spot.

Family of four. Two adults one child one toddler. We have stayed there for a week in August. Weather over 30 degrees everyday, a lot of sunshine. Nice family hotel. Very clean modern apartment. Plenty of room for two adults and two kids. Brand new interior appliances bathroom etc. Room service not every day. Wifi could be much improved. Lift a bit slow and sometimes have to wait a bit. Staff hotel 5 star. Bar good food good. Pool clean. Get up early in the morning if you want sunbed. Nice walk aprox 15 min to beach and town with plenty of bars restaurants etc. Aver all nothing to complain really.

Relaxed atmosphere with really helpful staff. Clean bright apartments. Great ocean views.

I have been here several time over the past few years and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the apartments are cleaned 5 times a week and towels and sheets change twice a week. The resort is built on a hillside so access to some apartments can be a little difficult. There is also a small gym, Jacuzzi and sauna on site. The on-site shop has most things you will need and the rest you can get from Puerto Rico. Amadores beach is about 10 minutes walk and can get busy depending on the time of year, a 15 minute walk in the opposite direction is Puerto Rico with some nice bars and restaurants, you will need a car to visit the rest of the island but would be well worth it.

take sensible walking shoes unlike myself.

Just returned from a weeks stay here.
The Apartments are first class very modern and spotless. room 402.
We arrived 5 hours before check in time but we were in our apartment 2 hours before check in time Thanks Guys -)
the Views are amazing I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
Special thank you to the night receptionist who helped us get a doctor out when my partner fell ill He went above and beyond when the next night he came to see we were ok - Excellent touch and great customer service.

We have stayed here a few times before, but this was our most disappointing stay. The apartments next to us were being renovated and it was like staying on a building site from early morning constant drilling and banging, Luckily we did not have to stay in the apartment that much. We also had no hot water on the final night and early next morning, so we had to have cold showers. The pool which is normally well heated was cold which meant the kids did not go in and that is one of the main reasons we go to these apartments. I think we were unlucky this time.

Nicely located hotel

This is just a basic hotel not very comfortable if you opt for the basic rooms. The beds are squeaking and not very comfortable. We found a cockroach on the sofa in the livingroom probably forgotten there by the cleaner as it was dead. Apart from this the staff were very friendly and nice trying to convey maximum fun around the pool, rooms were clean enough. We tried the restaurant and it was good though not many vegetarian options.

Great location for Amadores beach and Puerto Rico. Sea views from the apartments are amazing. Apartments are very good standard with comfortable bed. Great to have sunbeds on the balcony. No real choice for vegetarians for dinner in the restaurant except pizza. Would have been convenient to have had dinner there more often if vegetarians had a few more options. Weather was great. This stretch of coast in the southwest supposedly has the best microclimate in Gran Canaria so I would consider staying in Bahia Blanca if I return to the island. Being short-changed in shops and restaurants (not Bahia Blanca) was widespread in Gran Canaria and leaves a negative impression for a first time visitor. Never experienced this in Lanzarote or Tenerife.

Rooms pokey, no free wifi, broken shards of glass on patio, no sun beds available due to people reserving with towels (some from night before!), wc not fixed down properly or bath/ shower taps, fridge turned off and water all over when we arrived, no air con and could not leave any windows open due to no catches on any windows, only 8 coat hangers for 4 people! broken paving slabs on way out of patio to exit, lack of parking as all local use up the few bays to go to the beach nearby.

Nice short stay. Reception friendly and nice easy check in. Room was ever so hot on arrival and took a while to cool down. Beds aren't brilliant and fixtures and fittings were a bit tired. Pool area nice and staff good. Little bit of hassle getting suitcases to room as only a weird lift to get you halfway there and had to carry rest up stairs.

Quiet location, easy walk to beaches. Family of 4.

2 adults and 2 teenage girls. Our room was secluded from the main walk way with a private patio and garden with a beautiful sea view. The rooms were cleaned twice during the week and the bed linen changed once. The air con is ceiling fans, but the windows in the bedroom had metal shutters, so opening the window and closing the shutter meant air circulation was not a problem. The room was advertised as bath tub only, but a combination bath/shower tap and shower curtain was provided. There was also a hairdryer provided in the bedroom.
There is one external lift, but this will not take you directly to your floor. Steps are involved and our room had a small flight of 8 steps of its own which offered more privacy. The pool area was busy, all loungers taken at 10 am, we tended to use the pool later in the aternon from 4 pm and could find loungers available then.
The restaurant had a range of choices available and a daily specials menu of starter and main for 10€ (three choices), this included a Spanish dish which was good as finding Spanish food proved difficult in town.
Loads of water sports are offered at the beach in Puerto Rico and the sea offers great snorkeling. Both beaches are about a ten minute walk from the hotel, and the town centre is about a twenty minute walk. However a taxi cost on average 3€ (4€ with tip) so we used to walk into town and then get a taxi back. Amadores beach is very pretty and the quieter of the two.

Excellent apartment with sea views

We stayed in the apartment for 5 nights. The location was perfect for us, overlooking the sea with easy access to the walks along the seafront to either Amadores beach, which is beautiful, or the busier Puerto Rico. The apartment had everything we needed and we were extremely happy with the price we paid. There was plenty of room round the pool at all times and it had a good atmosphere. The beach bar with happy hour each evening was also very pleasant. Entertainment is provided each evening ranging from Elvis to Boy George, all excellent but not in your face if this isn't your kind of thing.

Bahia Blanca and Puerto Rico

Even for moderately fit people, the resort of Puerto Rico is a walking challenge, especially in 30+ degree heat - the 15-minute walk to either Puerto Rico or Amadores beach includes some short inclines, so its not exactly a leisurely stroll, and there's nothing before you get to a beach, so it's a lengthy walk to do anything. The room at Bahia Blanca was clean, but the lack of basic manners from Reception and supermarket staff let the hotel down - in particular, the young(ish) guy in Reception who is the rudest front desk person I've ever had the misfortune of meeting, and is the kind of person who should not be in a customer-facing role because he lacks the basic skills.
Also, there is no secure room to store luggage in after checking out when your return flight is a late one; when the majority of outgoing flights from Gran Canaria leave in the evening, a secure room to leave luggage after checking out should be provided - not some dinghy room - no door - in a prime position that anyone can walk in and out of.
As a base, it was an OK hotel (we didn't use their pool or visit their restaurant/bar, so I can't comment on that), but I would not go back to Bahia Blanca because you don't feel welcomed - or even wanted - there (on checking in, I discovered that their idea of a \"welcome pack\" was a bottle of washing-up liquid and a sponge). I wouldn't go back to Puerto Rico either - it is too hilly and there isn't enough to do for those who don't wish to bake on the beach every day.

The apartment we had had everything we wanted, was comfortable & clean, with good facilities on site. Is very hilly though & not suitable with anyone with walking difficulties although there is a lift to all floors, a bit noisey if your apartment is situated close to it. Would suggest hiring a car to get around the island although you can walk to two beaches in 10/15 minutes.

Great value, view, and location. Beautiful place.

This property was a great deal for the money. The location is great, right between all of the places you might want to go and as close to the beach as you can get (all hotels are off the beach and built into the hillside here, so don't look for a hotel ON the beach, you won't find it). We didn't pay for a ritz Carlton staff and so didn't expect it, they are friendly and helpful but are just locals and not professionally trained hotel staff. Don't plan to eat there as the food is expensive and forgettable, but the location is just minutes walk from so many good places to eat it would be a shame to eat at the hotel anyways. The view is the most amazing thing here, all properties get a sea view and it's breathtaking. Avoid garden properties unless you are traveling with a family, they are on the walkway level and provide less privacy but more room for kids to play. Find a map of the propert and try to request rooms on the north edge of each terrace or along the. Bottom level below the pool. These rooms provide the best view and combine the space and ambiance of a garden with the privacy and view of a balcony.
We spent our honeymoon here and never felt like we had skimped or were taking a budget vacation even though we were saving a considerable amount over other places. We highly recommend this place for its value view and location.

You get what you pay for

It was a good hotel, but not great. We loved the ocean view and it had all the amenities necessary, they even had a few groceries for us when we arrived!, (although the hair dryer hose had a hole in it and didn't work well). The pull out trundle bed was not very comfortable, but it was clean and provided the basic needs. Fortunately the hotel wasn't our highlight--it was the beach! And the hotel was close to 2 very nice beaches and a boat ride from a fun town with a market. Oh, and a nice gentleman greeted us on our first day and gave us some helpful hints--a very nice service! The pool closed too early we thought, but all in all it was inexpensive and allowed us to see some fun places and experience the warm tropic island without having to spend too much money. Thanks! If you're looking for luxury go somewhere else, but this was great for our needs.

Great location

On our first night we had a problem with the fridge not working which was immediately sorted out and the receptionist and the maintenance guy were very accommodating and polite. The apartments are in excellent location between the main resort of Porto Rico and the nice beach at Almadores both within easy pleasant walking distance along a cliff path. The apartment was reasonable size very clean and had lovely garden which was not over-looked with sea views. We did avoid the evening entertainment as not really our thing. We did go to restaurant one night the food was okay wine better! Pool is not as big as it looks in picture but warm and long enough to get a bit of a swim in. Also had fun riding the funicular/lift up and down in the evenings. The whole lay-out of hotel was really good as you are not in some massive tower block so not noisy despite there being a number of apartments there was no sound from chairs being dragged across next door and we only heard our neighbours child cry a few times. We had a lovely stay and weather was amazing. Almadores beach was really good. Porto Rico the resort is a bit tacky in places, but we had a really excellent paella at a restaurant near the marina. The supermarket is also very convenient but a little bit over priced but that is what you expect with convenience. The bread that they sold was nice and freshly baked. Just don't buy tampons there £5 for a box of 30.

We had a lovely time at Bahia Blanca, it was perfectly located between two beches- both Less than 10 minutes away. We were also lose enough to the shopping centre and restaurants. Our apartment was clean and spacious and all of our needs were catered for. Would definitly recommend Bahia blanca to friends

The Hotel Bahia Blanca in Puerto Rico-Gran Canaria

In a great location, between Puerto Rico and Playa de Amadores, need to be able to walk well on stairs as the hotel has plenty of them. There is a cable car lift but that only gets as far as the floors from then on its a long walk for some. Great mini market for all basic needs, sun lotion, newspapers, basic food including frozen pizzas and water for good prices. We did not expect much as we booked this self catering hotel as part of a budget last minute holiday but were pleasantly surprised. The accommodation is comparatively large, with a kitchen/ living area, a good sized bathroom with bathtub and also a good sized bedroom. Lovely big terrace outfront as well. It comes all full fitted with all mod cons in the kitchen. The pool bar and also the pool are a nice size. The \"entertainment\" was not much for us and is very kids oriented. The music terribly outdated and is every 10 minutes at times interrupted by the entertainer to ask for ppl to participate in water polo, mini golf or dart. Its a bit forced at times. The only option to avoid all of it was to go to the beach as there is no escape from Montse from the entertainment team. Dont be sad to miss \"Abbalicious\" a 2 girl team from the Newcastle area, the jokes were so rehearsed it was boring. The \"mad hatter\" was entertaining, with a good selection of music and different costumes, he also has a good voice and adapted his programme to his audience. All while dining in the hotel restaurant with a great selection of al a carte food, cooked really well for a great price. We tried the set dinner only once as it took 25 min for the starter to arrive and then another 40 min for the main course. It tasted cheap and could not compare to the al a carte options. We stayed 7 nights and the appartment was cleaned every day by housekeeping, also another service we did not expect. The only downside was there was no air condition in the room only a ventilator on the ceiling. That made the nights very long. All in all we loved our time in Bahia Blanka and are already planning to come back next year, I dont even want to try somewhere else as this was much more than we expected for the price we paid.

Excellent Apartments and Resort

We travelled in the second week of October and the weather was still in the high 20s and only going down to about 23 of an evening - bliss. Upon arrival at the apartments we were given a grocery bag with milk, water, bread, tea, coffee, jam which was very welcome. All the staff were very polite and friendly. Our apartment was located on the 2nd floor and we went to it using the special lift which is a god send as there were many steps. The apartment was very well equipped and had all that we could want with a sea view and our own patio and was spacious and clean. All ofher apartment facilities, e.g. pool, bar were excellent. The apartments are timeshare but we did not get hassled to buy. Loads of entertainment during the day and evening with singers and pool games. Located over the road from the coastal path and 10 min in one direction was wonderful beach of Amadores and 10 mins other direction lovely harbour of Peurto Rico where there were numerous places to eat and drink and 15 min walk from the harbour the main shopping centre with clubs, department stores. Would definately go back.

Einen Tag nach Ankunft: Ameisen im Zimmer, auch auf dem Bett.
Das Personal war nicht besonders freundlich und hilfsbereit bei der Bitte um Hilfe. Das Zimmer wurde dann auf mehrmalige Nachfrage nochmals gereinigt, danach war das Thema erledigt. Über die (vom Hotel beworbene) App wurde außerdem ein \"Late Checkout\" angefragt - darauf kam nie eine Antwort.

Die Einrichtung ist teilweise nicht mehr besonders wohnlich, z.B. Risse im Sofa, abfallende Verkleidungen in der Küche.

Väldigt rent och fint rum. Lägenhet med fantastiskt utsikt. Lugnt och stilla från grannar. Vi var själva imponerade över att det var så tyst i rummen. Nu bo bodde vi ganska högt upp ska tilläggas. Eftersom hissen (bergbanan) upp till boendet var trasig under nästan hela veckan så fick man bra träning för benen. Men det var tufft för många äldre. Trevligt poolområde och det fanns alltid solstolar även fast det klassiskt skulle reserveras handdukar innan frukost. :-)

Only thing this year was the elevator didn’t work during our stay (1 week) not okay, and when asking in the reception the answer was, working on it. We were at first floor, so we could manage but the upper flors had difficulties getting up.

Toller Meerblick egal von wo, sehr nettes Personal, saubere Zimmer, die top ausgestattet sind mit Küche, Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine, sat-TV, DVD-player, Schlafcouch, Esstisch, Terrasse mit Möbel, bequeme Betten, Supermarkt im hotel mit Preisen die echt voll ok sind, Supermarkt im Ort ca 5€ mit Taxi oder 15min Fußläufig erreichbar. Zwei Strände in jeweils 600m Entfernung. Amadores beach sehr kinderfreundlich!! Der Pool im hotel war auch top, auch für meinen 4jährigen Sohn - die Schaumparty war das Highlight ❤ ich würde sagen die HotelBesucher waren eine gute bunte Mischung. Das Hotelessen hervorragend! Gute abwechslungsreiche Auswahl, echt für jeden was dabei.
Ich kann es uneingeschränkt empfehlen aufgrund der Lage, Sauberkeit und der Mischung der Gäste. Ich und mein Sohn kommen wieder 😊
