Great place with kids as they have a bus turned into a play area. Dinner and drinks were also great. Unfortunately our room had a plumbing issue and the water pipes made a loud sound every 4-5 minutes all night long. We barely slept as a result which made for a very long travel day the following day.

Do not stay - truly awful, dirty and rude staff
Do not stay here!! It is dirty, bugs in the bedsheets, dirty towels, we complained and were refused a refund or alternative accommodation and had to go elsewhere at huge expense. Unbelievably rude and I actually can't believe this place is allowed to run as a business. The pictures of the shepherds huts were very deceiving, they are run down and smelly and generally grubby.

The woman dealing with our check in was quite rude. But she also said she was leaving soon. No loss.
The rest of the team were amazing and the food was surprisingly great. There was a party on in the evening and we thought it may keep us awake, but it all stopped by midnight and we had a good nights sleep. We would have liked to have had breakfast there, but they don’t provide it.

Quirky place to stay. Very little space, the pictures online make it look much bigger than it is and that’s ok as you’d expect in a converted carriage but for the money you pay it’s not a lot of room at all. Doesn’t even include breakfast! If you like quirky and it’s a short stay it’s ok.

The room was rather small and the windows opened over the garbage area behind the pub. Thankfully, it didn't smell. The room itself was clean, but the bathroom was a bit dirty. If you are going to Stonehenge, the location really can't be beat.

Nice place to visit.
Booked one of the converted railway carriages. Was nicely set out with good quality linen and a comfortable bed. Shower was effective and clean. There were some benches outside the carriage and the other guests were friendly as well as the staff. It is very convenient for Stonehenge which was the reason we stayed but would be tempted to visit again as a stop off on the way to the West Country. The railway carriage was comfortable but cosy/small as would be expected but might be something to consider if planning a longer than one night stay.

It was an experience. It was a functional room near Stonehenge, which is what we wanted. The tv plug did not reach the outlet, the shower curtain and window shades werent secured to the walls and fell easily (they were on tension rods), beds weren't great. Men's toilet in the pub downstairs was filthy. But it was also fine? It got the job done.

It had the most unique decor of any hotel room I have ever stayed in. We stayed in room#4. In the area of the room with the full size bed, next to the bed was a table with lamp on and a tray with glasses, mugs and stuff to make tea. The bottle for water was empty other than 25 ml of water. The other side of the bed had a table with fan. In the room there is only one outlet....to the wall near the foot of the bed, yet there are three devices to plug in. Getting out of bed I kicked the tray of glasses. We ended up using the extension cord for the tv to plug in

I didn't realize there was no longer breakfast served as part of the room. When I asked about it, the staff pointed out some juice boxes, prepackaged oateal cups, cereal boxes with no milk, or croissant in a bag.
Our bathroom had nowhere to lay clothes or toiletries or a towel except a single hook on the door. The bathroom door lock is a little janky and gives you a feeling off panic that you are trapped in the bathroom. Also if you are over 6 foot tall you have to sit sideways on the toilet.
The light in the bathroom initially cones on with one dim bulb, if you stay on there long enough it will get brighter with a second bulb coming on? The shower curtain also falls down easily.
Beds are stiff and low.

Lovely stay on the whole, good for families. Great fun bus and novel mini Stonehenge, my son loved both. Food pretty good. 2 minor things, they ran out of teabags at breakfast and need more shelves / places to store things in the bathroom, ended up storing things on the floor, not very hygienic.

Exactly what I expected: an old property that has clearly been loved and with owners that seem to care, has the basics and they do their best. It was clean and no frills but truly close to Stonehenge which made getting there for an early start a lot easier. No noise issues from the restaurant/pub below for us.

We loved it! If I didn’t put all five stars it’s because a few things need tweaking (no coat hangers, no dish soap, wonky heater). But these are details: the substance was that my children, my partner and I stayed in a fun, great shepherds hut. In an in that offered a varied menu and that had in the garden a fun bus: an old bus that the kids loved. All this at the minimal possible distance from Stonehenge. And the sun was even shining! What more!

We stayed in the wishing well sheppards hut a fantastic experience. Nice and cosy when it was minus 4 outside. Staff amazing and friendly in the Inn and the food in the pub was lovely and fantastic prices. We were well looked after our only recommendation would be a couple of stalls to be able to sit down when wanting to relax. Would definitely visit again

Great fun. A very nice refurbishment of a shepherd's hut, was really cosy inside. Excellent nights sleep, the mattress was nice and firm. The pub was nice as well, served food and showed sports. Highly recommended for a short trip or stopover.

The only 2 good things about this place were the dog friendly atmosphere and the nice bath towels. There were no hand towels or face cloths, the shower did not drain, 2 of the 4 cups left for us were dirty and the hair dryer fused when I turned it on. The mattresses felt about 2 inches thick (thin?) and I could not get comfortable all night. But the staff were friendly if not too helpful. We are disabled seniors and had to carry our own bags up two long flights of stairs.

Turned out to be a lovely and alternative stay!!! But on arrival I must be honest my boys aged 6&8) really weren’t sure or keen. The huts are located in the rear of a pub on a roundabout so not the most picturesque location and if you aren’t a pub going family (we are not) not the most natural of choices! We arrived on a very hot day to a pub garden with smoking topless males. Having said that once we entered our hut we were pleasantly surprised and the staff were lovely and reassuring. I received a less than welcoming email the morning before arrival which listed lots of information including that there are Alsatian dogs on location (mother & pup) and when we arrived they were there and to be honest the low fence wouldn’t have stopped them getting to us should they have wished to. But once again this turned out to be fine and the dogs were removed shortly after guests started to arrive but it did make me uncomfortable as travelling with my young boys alone. In conclusion we were genuinely very pleasantly surprised & would even possibly return to stay again! You mustn’t judge a book by its cover & this stay certainly proved this! Thank you to the lovely staff member who took his time to speak to my boys & made them feel relaxed & comfortable, he was a father of 6 & understood how to reassure my two. We stayed on a Monday & the pub cleared out early so we didn’t hear any noise at all. There was a nice little area outside our huts where we sat with other guests.

Lovely Family Run Inn close to Stonehenge
We had an excellent stay at Stonehenge Inn. The room was the perfect size for our family and very clean. It’s above a pub (noise wasn’t a problem). The pub has a large variety of pub food and everything we had was good. The kids loved the mini Stonehenge out front.
The beds were a little hard, but everything else was perfectly comfortable.
This inn is an excellent place to stay if you need someplace close to Stonehenge. It’s about a 5 minute drive to the entrance. You can’t get much closer. It was a perfect stay for us.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff were friendly and the hotel is over the Pub so it was nice to be able to just go downstairs for dinner after a full day of sightseeing. The food was fantastic as well. They have an area for the kids to play at outside and my kids loved it. Just a note there is no elevator so you have to take your bags up 1 flight of stairs.

When I arrived it felt very intimidating walking into a very loud and rowdy atmosphere and there were no signs as to where to go to check in. I had to join the queue for the bar in order to get their attention.
There was DJ playing who I was informed would finish at 11pm, it did not finish at 11pm and went on later. The music was incredibly loud coming through to the rooms.
The WIFI did not connect on either my phone or my laptop.
At 6am there were doors banging and conversations in the corridor outside the room which woke and kept me awake.
Overall, awful experience and I will never stay again.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in a very clean shepherds hut. Once Jenny had helped us with the heating operation it was snugly warm and the bed was very comfy. All staff we met were really welcoming and a lovely touch was the firepit which they lit in the evening just outside our door. Great place to stay.

Very friendly staff, good welcome on arrival, all amenities there. Coffee, milk, tea. Comfortable beds although single beds are under double so not a lot of head room. Couldn’t see the TV from beds so sat on the step ladder.

The family room was nice and clean, but a bit put off by the email we received prior to even arriving at the place that basically listed all the penalties they would charge us for if we clogged their toilets for example. Well when you finally check in you will find one of those compost systems in use in the bathroom with all the warnings that you can’t flush anything other than toilet paper. Granted I have no problem with this, but to be warned that tampons are also forbidden down the toilet was a shock. As a woman, if I was on my period and had to basically discard my tampons in a separate manner other than the norm, which is straight down the toilet, I would have been livid. So no, i would not recommend this place if you're a woman of child bearing age

Booked the week before & just wanted something convenient for the Zoos & tourist attractions that would offer dog friendly accommodation so was so surprised by the friendliness of the pub & how nice it was!
2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs stayed in the Shepherds Hut & though the beds were a little cramped, found the hut quirky & fun - my 11 & 8 year old were really 'wow'ed by it and the decoration was lovely with murals on the ceiling & bathroom wall.
You may struggle if you are a larger person or have mobility issues to utilise the top bunk - but was ideal for one big & one small person on the top bunk and the second adult on one of the bottom bunk.
There is a fire pit outside the little fenced area housing the huts, which was a lovely touch & was so enjoyable having a beer or two, warmed by the fire once the sun went down.
The nicest thing was the staff - they were professional and friendly and made the 3 days there fly by.
One word of warning - the main meals portions are very large & you buy one, you get one free - getting back on the top bunk after 3 days working my way down the medal, was a struggle - but I will definately go back.

Only stayed one night (thankfully). Nice big family room for my wife and I but this is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. What with the creaking floorboards and doors the traffic (boy racers) hammering past the place is unbelievable.
Add to this, nothing can be charged to your room, breakfast is only cold stuff (no cooked breakfast), no butter, only margerine and a young breakfast waitress who obviously didn't want to be there sum the place up - Never again.

Our room had noise from the road and could hear the patrons on the patio below, however, we were so tired we sleep through it all. The location was very close to Stonehenge and a cute little town with a great breakfast place. Beds were very comfortable. The Inn staff was great and the dinner was excellent.

Inn had an awesome remodeled bathroom and a good sized room. However, floors were creaking, Inn was right by the major road so non-stop car noises throughout the night, and no fans for a hot summer night. All night we were sweating in a stuffy room. And partial WiFi service - a limited 30 min session after signing up with your personal info.
