Great location in the heart of Salisbury. An historic old inn where you could stay in the room which Lord Nelson once stayed in. Full buffet breakfast with eggs cooked to order, disappointed y the fact that they only offer drip coffee. No mini bar in the rooms, only body wash was supplied in the way of toiletries and no complimentary water in the rooms meant only 3.5 rating.

Such a gorgeous hotel!

The staff were really friendly from before we had even arrived - we were lucky enough to also get a parking space at the hotel. Once we checked in, we had also arrived to our room being decorated for our anniversary which made it really special.

We had an amazing stay - the location was really central to everything in town and the breakfast couldn’t have been better (fresh eggs however you would like them and tea/coffee!!) The buffet is also updated often which was amazing to see and tasted amazing.

Overall, we had the most wonderful time celebrating our anniversary here and would absolutely return!

The breakfast was ok but should have been included in the expensive room price.
The bed was tiny and uncomfortable.
The room faced out towards a nightclub that bumped bass until 3am and then the patrons spilled into the street and were loud af until 4am.
Getting to the room was a nightmare as the interior is a maze and I took a wrong turn almost every time I came in or out.
The bartender did not know how to make an old fashioned.
I was unable to leave my luggage behind for 2 hours while I toured the cathedral, which cost me an additional £13 for storage at a other location.
Thos place boasts about it's vibrant history but out of the 13 hotels I have stayed in on this trip, it was hands down the worst one.
Will not return.

I had a very solid stay here. The staff were welcoming and efficient, and my single room was spotless and comfortable. The windows have excellent soundproofing; while I can't confirm if it muffles the weekend noise from the nightclub across the road, it was quiet during my weeknight stay. All this for £52 per night is a great value.

The service was friendly, but unfortunately our room was very musty and you could see this as damp near the window. Internal bathroom with no way of opening external windows and maybe little surprise, but not a nice way to walk into a room. The room we had was on the road, which is fine, until you realise at 1am there is a nightclub opposite the window and at 3.30am when everyone piles out onto the street, meant a very poor nights sleep.

The only thing that let it down for me was the size of our room. I had to clamber over the bed to get in and out as the bed was up against the dressing table. Could also do with a walk in shower instead of a bath, which was very high and difficult to get in and out of safely. But overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly Suitable Please to Stay in Salisbury

The hotel is well located for walking to the sites of Salisbury. There is a small parking lot that is a bonus if you can get a spot.
There is no elevator so if you have mobility issues (or a lot of luggage) I suggest coordinating with reception before arrival.
We thought the breakfast staff were particularly hospitable.

Managed to park in the small car park on the second and third nights. We were offered a quieter room on the back when we checked in and this was much appreciated. We had not picked up when booking that there were limited dining facilities in the hotel. Fortunately there were ample alternatives nearby. Breakfast was very good - better than other self-service options in most hotels.

Very expensive stay and disappointed on arrival to find the guest parking was liited to 8 cars! This should be clearly stated as the listing was deceptive. The hotel is old and tired - there were no unused electrical sockets available, small room, no view, the corridor lighting shone under the door and the air con was noisy so disrupted sleep. Good breakfast is the only positive from this overpriced break.

The location was great, beds were very comfortable. The staff was very nice, but the parking was a bit of challenge with not enough spaces for everyone staying. Once you leave, you’re unlikely to get a spot when you return. And the shower was very confusing.

The restaurant looked amazing. Unfortunately, we didn’t even try it because of how bad the room was. Uncomfortable bed. Floors uneven and creaky. If you’re remodeling an old place, either go all in on making it “vintage” or go all in modernizing.

Desk personnel were not very friendly or helpful.

Did have parking but tight and filled up quickly.

Walkable to the Cathedral and other sights.

Good location and nice staff, but...

The hotel was amazing considering it was built in the 1400's. The staff was very nice. The room was decent although the bed was a little too soft for me. The welcome drink of 50% off was a nice surprise. The walls were a little thin, and someone above me was clomping around. The biggest problem that I had was the bed bugs. I got bitten the first night but wasn't sure exactly what was going on. The second night left no doubt. I went down to reception to ask for another room, but they were fully booked. My friend and I had to stay up all night and pay extra to catch an earlier train, ruining our day out in Salisbury. In the morning, the woman at reception said that they would be refunding my money. I hope that everything gets straightened out as, in general, it's a nice place to stay.

Short Break in Salisbury

The staff were very friendly and explained everything very well. We spent one night there and it was lovely. The hotel location it's great, close to the market, Salisbury Cathedral, pubs and restaurants.

It is in an excellent location for sightseeing in Salisbury. The room was large bright and comfortable although we could have used a place to set our luggage. It is an historic building which makes it quirky and a little rambling to navigate and the lack of an elevator makes handling luggage a challenge. That staff is upbeat and very helpful. The restaurant next door is terrific.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The one (small) fly in the ointment you should be aware of is limited parking on site. My last night we got back late and all the spots were taken. Parked in the council lot a block and a half away so no problem (it was free as long as I pulled the car out by 8 AM) but if that's a problem just adjust accordingly. Breakfast was nice in the morning with eggs to order as part of the Full English Breakfast. Nice stay!

Salisbury was amazing. Hotel was in a good location. It was always clen and tidy. Staff were friendly. Beds were comfortable. It is not good for anyone that is mobility challenged Therelots of stairs to go up to the rooms and more stairs in the hallway to the rooms. There is No lift available.

Great location, easy to walk around Salisbury. Parking in road was chargeable during day. Good advice from reception. Breakfast was decent. Showers were great. Rooms a bit squashed into an old building. So plenty of steps and a maze of corridors!
