Prevail house is the best hotel in Ireland. And what makes it the best is its location and its people. The people greet you at the front door. They Millie tried to help you with your luggage. They get to know you and what you’re interest are so that they can help fulfill your needs. The food is delicious, and the hospitality is warm and generous.

It always makes you feel good to stay there.

Fabulous stay in a beautifully maintained property with the nicest staff! We stayed at the Perryville for a night as part of an 8 night vacation across Ireland. The Perryville is very well maintained and it's apparent the entire team is proud to work there! Our breakfast was the best tasting breakfast we had during our entire trip. Even though the hotel and guest rooms are decorated in antiques they are all in fantastic condition. The mattresses and bedding were very nice, and the bathroom modern and very nicely updated. We'd definitely stay here again. We had great communication from the hotel beginning with the moment we booked!

A perfect place to appreciate Kinsale

It is easy to summarize our stay at The Perryville Hotel, with its excellent hospitality, exceptional service and attentional to every detail of our perfectly-appointed room.

Magical!

Best breakfast anywhere we sampled across several counties.

Great location overlooking the Kinsale harbor with the vibrancy of the town displayed.

The Perryville Hotel made it tempting to want to enjoy all the rooms of this magnificently-restored house.

This hotel was great. Loved the location in town. Easy walk to everything else. It gave a great old school vibe. The decorations and paintings were cool to look at. The breakfast was phenomenal. Loved it. The room was large and spacious. The bed was comfortable and large. The room had separate couches and chairs to sit in. No wash cloth to shave though. The only odd thing was the carpet in the entire hotel. It was very rough and made me think of straw. Other than that, it was a great stay!!

Exceeded expectations

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were quite spacious. Ours had a charming courtyard view, complete with an on-duty guard cat. Fresh flowers lined every hallway. The staff was extremely helpful, securing us a coveted parking space when we had to move our car. But the biggest surprise was that the complimentary breakfast was worthy of a Michelin star. We would absolutely stay here again.

Booked 6 months in advance. Checked in and hotel is fine, clean etc. Room was stiflingly warm and stuffy. The room was situated with a window that you could step in and out onto a courtyard. The only way to cool the room was to leave the window open which would allow any stranger to walk into the room. No Air Condition in room. Let the staff know the next day that the evening was unpleasantly hot w/o air conditioning and being unable to open the window for air or allow potential strangers to step into the room. Man on phone at front desk said the window would only be accessible to staff or other people staying there, therefore it’s fine. I said, I don’t know you or the other guests here and at that point he hung up on me.

Problem needs to be address. Install a lock that allows the window to be cracked open without being able to be pulled open to let anyone step in. Would not stay there again. Sorry to report but be sure to ask that you not be on second floor with a window accessible to strangers if you need fresh air on a warmer summer night.

Rooms with an outdoor bamboo carpet?

Friendly staff but the rooms had an outdoor type of bamboo carpet in the hotel that was great on the feet. Hotel was hot and wasn't air-conditioned. If you opened the windows to cool down their was a lot of street noise.

From the moment we walked into our room, we felt a sense of calm — the view over the harbor was utterly serene, and everything was impeccably clean. It was the perfect place to unwind. I’d read countless reviews raving about the breakfast and honestly thought it couldn’t possibly live up to the hype… but it exceeded every expectation. I still find myself missing it! While everyone we encountered was kind and welcoming, the breakfast staff truly stood out — their warmth and attentiveness made our stay all the more memorable. A truly special experience from start to finish.

Classy and Elegant Hotel

The property and amenities are top notch.
Great location, delicious breakfasts. Attentive staff.
We did have a problem however with one one of the properties policies.
We had friends staying at a property next door who we invited over to join us for a drink at the hotel’s bar.
When we informed the staff that our friends were going to join us for a drink we were told that only the hotel’s registered guests could order a drink there.
This is a paid bar mind you, not complimentary drinks!
I thought I must have mis-heard, so asked again whether our friends could join us.
I was told sorry, but no.
The most ridiculous hotel policy I’ve ever experienced.
So despite this being a very nice hotel, we would not stay again.

Very welcoming staff. Beautiful hotel and lovely room. The bathroom was new and fresh. Elegant and delicious breakfast included. Great location for walking to shopping and restaurants. The hotel carpet is definitely hard on bare feet so bring slippers for your room.

After our enjoyable stay, we discovered we had left some medicine in our room. We called Joseph, at the desk. He found it and sent it on to our next hotel. He could not have been more pleasant and efficient.

Perryville house in Kinsale is a truly charming gem that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the authentic character of the hotel and its perfect location in the heart of Kinsale. The service is impeccable—thoughtful, attentive, and always delivered with a smile.

The ambiance of the hotel feels warm and inviting, with a distinct charm that reflects the local heritage.

Breakfast at Perryville is a highlight not to be missed, featuring a fantastic spread of local products and fresh ingredients. The homemade scones, breads, and jams are simply divine. We absolutely loved everything about our stay and can’t recommend it enough!

Get clarity on what constitutes a ‘view’ room

Room 153 is NOT a harbor view room, though it is priced as such. The 2 rooms on the floors directly above this room have spectacular harbor views, but 153’s view is of a very large leafy tree and a courtyard. It seems disingenuous and misleading to charge for the view, lovely as the room is otherwise.
The service is generally stellar, particularly Colette, as is the entire housekeeping staff. Great location.

It was located in a wonderful old mansion right on Kinsale’s harbor. The rooms were nice, the breakfast was wonderful, as was the staff. There was a bar associated with but not part of the hotel. It was a nice stop after a day sightseeing.

Great Stay

Beautiful hotel in walking distance to much of Kinsale. We booked a Superior room which was a standard USA style room. It overlooked the garden. Bathroom on the small side. Many steps to different levels but has an elevator. The staff were superior and the restaurant and bar very nice. Walked to Charles Fort (30 minutes) and historical buildings in town. The streets to the fort have a bit of an incline. Had dinner at Man Friday which is more upscale than your pub. Had a drink at Bulman near the fort. A great staff and atmosphere.
