Stunning location and amazing food

The property is situated in a beauriful remote area, and looks stunning from outside. The reception staff was very smart and helpful, and the room was beautiful. The gym is well equipped, however the sauna did not work and the steam room would benefit from an essential oil smell, rather than musty smell. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, my favourite being the handmade soda bread. Top quality food and perfect service. There are lovely walks around the place and the views are stunning, but I am sure I wrote that already. Very happy with our stay.

Great hotel in a lovely rural location with great views. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Food was great also and we were given a complimentary check out of 12 noon instead of 11am. Lovely waterfall feature in grounds. Close proximity by car to Kinsale. Would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Kinsale Hotel and Spa. It is a modern, contemporary hotel very close to Kinsale with spacious, clean rooms, an open lobby area, adequate parking and a great balcony overlooking the water. The breakfast was great. The staff at the reception were very helpful and provided great recommendations. It's a ten minute drive to Kinsale.

The hotel was further from Kinsale than I expected but was able to get a shuttle bus to town but needed to get a taxi back. The pool area was having work and some facilities were out of action. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were so helpful and friendly. .

Beautifully situated in hotel grounds on elevated site overlooking estuary. 5 minutes drive into Kinsale.

Large modern rooms, clean with large bed and great views. Hotel reception and restaurant bright and airy.

Dinner was average and breakfast on the first morning was awful. Self served cooked breakfast was warm at best and running low or out of components. Plates, although looked clean, had a gritty feel as if dishwasher not correctly functioning. Breakfast on the second day improved.

Very This was an amazing place. The room was comfortable. The view from our room was SPECTACULAR. The pool was big, clean and modern with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
Breakfast buffet was complete with gluten free options and plant milk was available upon request.
JOHN is the MAN. He welcomes you, keeps the restaurant and reception going, and even gave us a ride to Kinsale in hotel van.
We would definitely go again. 👍

Great stay. Helpful staff. Little things at this level matter though - answering the phone when you’re in the middle of checking someone in isn’t a great look. And the room was uncomfortably warm, even with windows open or AC on max. The views on the other side would’ve been stunning looking East over Oyster Haven. West-facing you just have a car park. Request level 3 on the left (odd-numbered rooms I think). Bar menu was decent. Waiting staff there were brilliant!!!

A charming relaxing hotel near kinsale

Lovely spacious room with an outstanding view. The bed was big and very comfortable. The only negative point was a mouldy shower that required attention and the absence of a toilet brush that is common in many hotels and I don’t understand.
Overall the room was still great, clean and well looked after. We appreciated the complimentary water every night.
We also loved the restaurant area: good food and great ambient.
The swimming pool area was very nice and the location of the hotel phenomenal. A morning walk outside the hotel highly recommended.

We booked two rooms and had a terrible experience. First, we had booked a sea view room. When we checked in they gave us the room, but it was not a sea view and they said they had no other sea view rooms available. The rooms were incredibly hot as were the halls. It was max of 65 outside...if they had just opened the windows, the rooms would have been more comfortable. The rooms were not well maintained. They looked dirty and old. One elevator did not work and there were stains on the carpets. The breakfast was terrible...inedible. Find another property in the beautiful town of Kinsale.

Very enjoyable stay . Lovely spacious clean room. Very comfortable bed.
Excellent bar food..had beef burger and fish and chips..tasty.
Used the leisure facilities..pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Nice water temperature and plenty of staff on hand keeping the whole area clean. The staff throughout the hotel were pleasant and helpful. Lovely spacious foyer to relax in. We'll be back

This hotel is located a short drive away from Kinsale. It is not within easy walking distance of the harbour area, but this was not an issue for us since we had a car. The main advantages of this hotel were that it was quiet, modern, well maintained, had a very nice restaurant, and lots of parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were modern fitness facilities, but we did not use them. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Standards have slipped drastically

The hotel is a little dated and I wouldn’t consider it to be 4 star anymore. Lacking the small touches such as water in the room, bathrobes etc. The pool area is nice but changing rooms need refurbishing. We ate at the restaurant and the food was really good but the staff were all over the place. The desert menu was interesting with a few alternative options and I asked the waitress could they recommend anything and she bluntly said no! We had a bad experience with trying to pay the food bill, we were given a slip of paper to fill out which we did and included a gratuity, signed with our room details. Later that evening while relaxing in the room we got a call to come to reception as they had forgotten to take an imprint of my card at check in and so they couldn’t charge my dinner bill. I went to reception and offered to pay then and they said no that the imprint would be sufficient etc
At 11.30pm that night we were asleep when we heard loud banging on the door and it was a different person from the restaurant with a new bill demanding payment. They woke my 6 year old and it was not a nice experience. There seems to be a complete lack of communication between staff. We checked out the next day and realised my son had left his charger behind so I called a couple of days later and they said they would check and ring me back. I rang again 3 days later and they said they were still checking and to stop calling as they would let me know when they have the time to check! I give up

We stayed one night at this hotel and really enjoyed our time. Our room was spacious, beds very comfortable, nice big bathroom with option of shower or bath very helpful when traveling with babies. Haveing an option of a cooling fan was nice on hot days. We had breakfast the next day which was very nice and left us feeling full and satisfied for our day ahead. Would definitely stay again.

Kinsale Hotel & Spa was a great place to stay, the down-side is that it is a way out of Kinsale. ALthough the hotel does offer a complementary transfer into the town.
Food was good, which was lucky since I did go out several times to find a local pub/restaurant and I drew a blank. I took a lot of lot of walks from the hotel. Parking was 'just' OK, a few times I took the last space, sorry for anyone who arrived after me,

The property is well designed but a bit tired and in need of improvement beyond just painting. The hotel charges a premium for a view. That view is southern-exposure and the large windows generate a lot of passive solar heat in the room - great for winter, but the windows barely open to ventilate heat and the room air conditioner did not work at all. The shower is great but the water did not drain and would pool at the basin up to six inches. Later the front desk said none of air conditioners them chill the air and that they were not needed until recently because of \"climate change\". Sorry - these rooms would have always generated a lot of solar heat. Also, if the windows are open the occupant has to listen to the guests outside enjoying the terrace at night. It is not acceptable to withhold climate control from the occupants. As to the view - you need to close the curtains to keep the sun from heating up the room. At check out, the front desk really didn't seem to appreciate that our experience was unpleasant. We actually live in the area and expect to invite guests, but we will not recommend the hotel. I would recommend to others not to choose the \"view\" option. On a plus side for the hotel, the breakfast is excellent and professional.

We stayed with 1 small child and a baby and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. The only negative I have was the room was way too hot, the windows only open on tilt (a tiny bit) and the fan didn’t seem to have any cooling function. Other than this a fantastic location and great 2 night break.

My advice is to skip this hotel. I'm sure at one point this hotel was nice but those days are long gone. The property is run down. The front desk is not interested in the hospitality business at all. The dining was the worst we've ever experienced. The food was terrible. The amenities were not as advertised. We couldn't get access to the pool or any spa services. Pros: Excellent quiet, private location, stunning views and landscape, super friendly staff, immaculate cleanliness, gorgeous food, very family friendly and safe feeling, but that should not deter couples as we were.

Cons: only pizza available for lunch! Very good pizza but NO other options. Hotel should have a little on site coffee dock/ vending machine for sweets, Ice cream coffee, savoury snacks etc. No Netflix which is a must in this day and age.

Our stay was during Covid so our experience was always going to be somewhat tempered by restrictions. On the positive, staff were excellent (all of them) - very friendly and especially all the bar and restaurant staff. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet. Leisure centre was great again with staff being very friendly and accommodating. Spa was good excepting starting 10 minutes late and not tacking that delay on at the end. Food was okay - not brilliant as I would expect for the price and a 4 star venue. Breakfast has good selection but the hot food was bland (please source proper Irish sausages/pudding). Location of hotel is very accessible but not an easy walk to Kinsale (I understand there is a shuttle service during non-Covid times and that would have been great). Overall, we had a nice weekend and would definitely recommend to others and look forward to visiting again.

We celebrated our engagement with a stay here, from start to finish it was incredible. We opted for a bay view room which is a MUST with the view. We ate lunch here and it was very fresh and delicious. The staff were so friendly and room was immaculate. The breakfast was also 10/10. Fantastic pool organised very well with covid restrictions. Cannot fault this hotel, it’s on our list of wedding venues for consideration!

Loved the location ,walks and grounds around hotel. Facilities were great l and loads of swimming time . Staff very helpful and friendly .rooms with lovely very quiet .
